Looks like an all girl operating, hustling like they are feeding hungry troops. No complaints from me. Good food, I'd go more often if I lived closer.

I'm visiting from Atlanta with my boyfriend and his family. I was very impressed with the Liberty Burger and Fries and my boyfriends mom said these were the BEST wieners she had on this trip (she is from R.I. originally and loves a good wiener because you can't get them like this in Atlanta). The cook and server were very friendly and welcoming. I wish I would've gotten their names. Best burger I have had in AGES! Thank you so much for making us have a great meal on our last day here!

I’m done with this place. We’ve tried them 3 times and it’s always something. Today was the last straw for me after getting raw batter, burnt fries and the presentation…? Please note we picked up our food and this is what my order looked like when I opened it up so how did they not see the batter was raw? We didn’t even bother going back or calling because the woman that answers the phone is almost always rude and rushes to get you off the phone. The restaurant was not busy at all when we picked up, there is no excuse for this.

What a great spot! I'm reluctant to call this the best breakfast place in Rhode Island because I want to be able to get a seat! The staff is fantastic, and the food is as well. My personal favorite? Bacon, egg, and cheese on an English (with a hash brown patty on the sando!) <3 thanks ladies!

Mark H.

Google
The "Liberty Burger" is the best. Served with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and cheese plus a generous portion of REAL French fries (not precooked or frozen) and a cup of hot coffee is one of my personal favorites.

Google
What a great breakfast place! Came here with a friend of mine for the first time. The food was incredibly delicious. I had a pancake Benedict special that was out of this world. Home fries are also tasty with just the right amount of crispness. I like that there is a regular menu and a unique specials menu. I will definitely be coming back again. Great service as well!

Google
This may be the only resturant in the region of New England that has people that want to get to know you, the foods great everybody talks like they know each other it’s just an all around great resturant

Google
I have been coming here since I was a junior in high school (2008) and I absolutely love it. It’s one of the most affordable spots in the city. The food hits every time, I have never once been disappointed. The staff are also great, they are so friendly. Honestly, the only problem I have is when I go and all the seats are full. And that’s really not a problem.

Danny G.

Yelp
The staff are all excellent at what they do, the food is always good especially when Tracy is cooking, I haven't had a bad meal at liberty and I frequent the restaurant regularly, the prices are what you would expect at a breakfast /lunch place in the city, very reasonable and perfect portions, I highly recommend that you come for breakfast and lunch on Tuesday they have a hot dog special and Friday is seafood with I wide range of specials, stop in and grab a bite, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Got the fish & chips Friday night was disappointing. Very greasy and not good at all. Help is definitely ruff around the edges. I'm sad, I had high hopes because I do like the breakfast there but not dinner at all.
google avatar

Yelp
For an older diner Liberty Lunch checks all the boxes. They offer quick and affordable breakfast/lunch meals daily. The staff were friendly and prompt, they allow you to order pick up as well which made things very convenient. They have access to free street parking and this business is also pedestrian friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Food really good. Only gave 3 because of the attitude of the cook. She was complaining and bitching the whole time we were there about how she only gets paid till 1p, swearing, and talking about customers who came in too close to the end of her shift. If you don't like your job, QUIT! So rude.
google avatar

Elizabeth D.

Yelp
Good food, good prices. Service leaves something to be desired. Went in for breakfast. Everything cooked properly and not a long wait.

Yelp
We've been here twice for breakfast and both times were delicious! Booths and counter stools. Old school. Love it! Pancakes are good sized and flavorful. Eggs cooked as I asked for them. Home fries are seasoned lightly and tasty. Good cup of coffee! The one waitress gets the job done! We'll be back for sure!

Paul N.

Yelp
This place has really gone downhill! There's no a/c, the staff is rude and loud and will literally yell at you if you sit at the first seat at the counter! "You can't sit here! I'm cooking here!" It's greasy and dirty and the only thing they still do well are the weiners! Even then, I'm not sure it's worth standing in the stuffy, cramped doorway to wait for someone to yell down from the back of the restaurant, "Are you picking up or taking out?" It really makes me miss KIPS!

Yelp
Great Place - Great People - Food is Awesome Very quaint and nice place to eat Highly Recommend

Sandra K.

Yelp
This is a tradition! Best coney hotdogs for past 60 years!! Other item on menu are just as good. Hotdogs, hamburger, fish and chips, all yum! Low key atmosphere attracts every walk of life. This a must stop every time I come to town!!

Mary L.

Yelp
I went to get some fish and chips because it was always good there, however, last Friday it was burnt on the outside and pasty in the middle, made by a sirly cook, who abused other staff members in front of the customers. Thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Yelp
Please read!!!!! On Sunday December 27th I visited Liberty Lunch. I was able to be seated quickly and ordered just as fast. It was quite busy but food was coming out fast as usual. I was by myself but struck up a conversation with this guy next to me( forgot his name but he is a regular and really nice guy. We were talking for awhile, so much so that the cook came up to me and apologized. He stated that my breakfast was on the house. I couldn't believe it. A small establishment had the decency during a pandemic to offer a freebie because my order was a little behind. The mere offer of gratitude left me nothing more than amazed and now a committed customer to this place. The food would have kept me coming but the gesture will keep me loyal to this place. Thank you. Also, I put what I was going to pay (including tip ) into the servers tip container. Liberty Lunch YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!

Yelp
Great place for breakfast! Excellent service, and food! Friendly, fast and fantastic!!! Local diner establishment setting!

Yelp
Simply amazing little diner with Pawtucket history! Quick paced diner style - Food's fast, fresh. Dined for lunch this afternoon and wasn't disappointed. Diner service is an art - and they nail it. Shouting orders, friendly but speedy service. Low prices and worth every penny. Try a weiner (RI Style). Don't come her expecting white glove service

Yelp
I was driving back from Boston with my daughter and she was very hungry. She wanted a sandwich and I wanted an omelette. So we looked on Yelp and found Liberty Lunch. This is definitely a local's hangout. It seemed everyone eating and working there knew each other. My daughter got the turkey sandwich and I got the cheese omelette. Both came very fast and were pretty good. What I did not expect was the cook to come out from behind the counter and ask my daughter if she wanted fries. My daughter said yes. So he went back and made her fresh fries. That is called customer service. My daughter and I were blown away. Will definitely be back. Tip: when you are ready to pay your bill, you need to go to the cash register area to pay.

Yelp
Love this place , Service and food is excellent . Best chowder and clam cakes etc . Everyone you have to try
google avatar

Joshua C.

Yelp
One of the best diners around! AMAZING food, atmosphere, and the people are the best! This is real diner eating, come once and they remember your name for next time, I had the grill cheese with chourico and Italian wedding soup, the best around. Monday special, American Chop Suey w/soup 4.95!? When have you ever seen prices that cheap before? You want a quick bite this is the place, O and Tuesday is 1 dollar wiener day!
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
We just recently started eating here about a month ago and we cannot believe it has taken us 3 years to do so. If you are looking for a spice of pawtucket and some locals to talk to, Liberty Lunch is where it is at. Everyone is very nice and talkative. Their food is wonderful- their chocolate chip pancakes are just right- and their eggs Benedict I get every time. Good prices for a ton of food and a home feel.

Luke E.

Yelp
Awesome wieners. Prices are great and menu adds a variety of options for breakfast and lunch.

Yelp
Sad. No restaurant seems to have staying power. Went in today to the "deathstare" from the youngest daughter of the owner. She was upset that I informed the owner they turned me and presumably others, away on Christmas Eve. This young woman, part of a young couple working there, just wanted to leave early. The owner did right by me and gave me a free breakfast after having learned how I was treated. He is a good owner. His name is Chuck. After almost 20 years, I will no longer be spending money here. There doesn't seem to be much promise if these two take over in the future.
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
Stopped in for weiners and French fries and will NEVER do it again. Fries were Uncooked made in a hurry and the Weiners were soggy. Nothing to rave about, Kips wins for me hands down. Typical Greasy Spoon

Manuela L.

Yelp
First visit was this morning for breakfast..place order for pancakes (3), eggs over easy (2) and bacon...got to work opened the container and wanted to puke...overwhelming smell of grease pancakes had black speckles all over I'm assuming very old oil was used or a very, very dirty stove top maybe both. Needless to say I will never be going back I will definitely return to Don's lunch. By the way all this aggravation cost $11.00 bucks. I will say the waitress was awesome and worth the additional $5 bucks I tipped her. I've never written a review of any kind but felt compelled to do this and save people the aggravation
google avatar

Brenda B.

Yelp
I use to live near by, I started out as a loyal customer, I also had the pleasure to work for the owner "Chuck", I can say he takes good care of this place, people are very friendly and they make you feel right at home. I'm hoping they continue to serve their Seafood choices on Friday's, always cooked to perfection and at a fair price. Keep up the great work "Chuck". coming for that seafood soon!
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
Excellent little spot. The food is incredible and at an extremely good price. You get to watch the workers cook the food so i know it's very fresh! The whole staff is very friendly, from the owner down! Also their coffee is really good. One of my favorite breakfast stops!
google avatar

Arne P.

Yelp
My wife grew up around the corner. Sixty years later. It's still serving all the favorite's she grew up with. We sat at the counter and they made us feel right at home. We both had wieners all the way, with fries on the side. Great food, great ambiance! We shall return.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Catch me here on a saturday morning with my family eating a western omelette with pancakes
google avatar

William K.

Yelp
One of my favorite breakfast spots. Good food, reasonably priced, fast and friendly service!! Bill K

Distad D.

Yelp
This food is fresh prepared to order. You watch the food be made in front of you! Staff is phenomenal. Extremely relaxed setting. Very clean. Food is great taste couldn't ask for anything better
google avatar

Sean A.

Yelp
Absolutely a Pawtucket gem. I won't say hidden because they've been there for decades. If you haven't been in awhile do yourself the favor of going back . The breakfast rivals all of the pretentious hipster crunchy millennial joints that want $18 for over done Benedict w/ broken cold sauce . While the bargain there is undeniable for the quality and service, I'd pay twice the amount to eat there. Lunch is equally amazing . Under $10 for really good fish and chips !!!!? Wow. The service and clientele makes it all the more special . We go at least once a week, and greeted warmly every time we walk in the door. Can't wait to go back !!

Yelp
Finally made it back for the pancakes. They were pretty good but a word or caution, just order two because they are large. I thought the place was a little dirty this time. The older guy working there could have spent a little more time cleaning and less time talking to the patrons. And what was up with leaving the door open. I froze my rear off and I think it is a board of health violation. Went here again on 7/21/14. No air conditioning so this is not the place to go during the summer. The special was pretty good but not worth eating in the heat. The bathroom is very hard to get to and the place is not handicapped friendly.
google avatar

Eric G.

Yelp
Cleaner than before! A lick of paint, sanitary habits, and a few pictures have made this closet-sized dinette a much nicer experience. One where you don't need to open the door with your elbow and operate the rest room with your feet. The ornery old crank that worked there in the 70-80s is long gone. We were served by a cheerful, sassy waitress who had a good back and forth banter with the short-order cook. (She's at Brickway now) NY System Weiners were BAD. 2 stars. Uneven distribution of celery salt. Onions were not fine dice. They looked like they were hacked up with a dull cleaver. The wiener itself was MOOSHY. That was very gross. I don't need to explain what connotations a soft, mushy wiener evokes. Bleh. The other menu items looked very promising though. Most items are made fresh. Currently, Kips Restaurant is now the best Darlington source for an authentic NY System Wiener.
google avatar

Cindy M.

Yelp
Just left liberty diner. Awful experience. 1. You will stink like this place all day. 2. The food is gross. 3. The home fries are nothing but a pile of grease 4. I ate my whole breakfast before our waitress finally put on a pot of decaf coffee. There was a full regular pot already made. She made another pot of regular. THEN finally made mine. Put my cup right under the brewer because she could see I was done eating and still waiting... Tasted like mud. 5. Husbands pancake was still doughy in the middle. 6. Left basically our whole breakfast on our plates and the waitress just dumped it in the trash and handed us our check. Never said... Gee looks like you didn't like your food. Will never be back, and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
google avatar

Stacey R.

Yelp
Just left here. Cute place, busy, really small and friendly atmosphere. Had to get a spot at the counter because all the old people were taking up the booths reading the newspaper and drinking their coffee an hour after they were already done eating....that grinds my gears. It wasn't fun trying to watch my 6 year old every second for fear she would fall off the old school swivel chairs, she was barely tall enough to see over the counter. Anyway, the breakfast possibilities were endless! They had every combination you could think of! My husband and I got 2 eggs, toast, homefries, bacon, sausage, and pancakes for $5.95, my daughter got a side of eggs with ham and bacon which came to the same price as our humongous breakfast combos. The food was good, not great. I could have made better at home if I weren't so lazy sunday mornings. Sitting in front of the flat top where they were making everything was pretty cool. I noticed the cooks were younger but were taught that old fashioned way of cooking I remember from being a child going to breakfast with my family. Ill be back again sometime.

Shawn D.

Yelp
During these uncertain times it's nice to still be able to get breakfast takeout at the place I have been going to for years! Food is excellent..

Yelp
Drove by and noticed this little gem around 2pm on a Tuesday, went in to discover it as one of those true Rhode Island establishments (signs that tell you to stop complaining and all). Had 2 all the way and they didn't disappoint-- extra points for hand cut French fries and a really friendly staff.
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
A great little breakfast spot in Pawtucket! The french toast is sweet as can be, and the french fries are salty perfection. It's good for a stop in bite, but I wouldn't recommend lingering, parties wait in the entrance way and will glower at tables they think ought to be leaving. The coffee isn't great and the service can sometimes be spotty, but it's a cute little diner.
google avatar

Yelp
After bringing somebody to the Providence airport and realizing it had been hours since we had agreed to grab breakfast, I came across this diner hidden behind Coldstone and Tim Hortons. It's not upscale by any means. It's also not meant to be. The prices were extremely reasonable, and you can tell the average bill is fairly low by the sign at the register explaining that the bill must be over $5 if you need to pay by credit card. I had the PVD special thinking it sounded fairly small - 2 eggs, potatoes, juice, one pancake. Added blueberries to the pancake for 35 cents. I was surprised to see the pancake was actually the size of a small salad plate. It was average diner fare. There were many locals there that day and you could tell from the conversations they were having with the two waitresses on staff, as well as each other. One saw my plate coming and automatically started passing down condiments to me.

Cynthia J.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of visiting Liberty Lunch this morn for a quick breakfast. Food was good, but that's not the point of the review. 2 woman came in refusing to wear masks and were very belligerent to the staff. Management explained how they must comply with State laws, but the rude women weren't having it. They were refused service, but sat there anyways taking up precious seating in a small place. Finally, 10-15 min later they left. I heard one say to the other, wait til they see the review I give them. I just wanted it known the staff acted appropriately at all times and I would hate to see them get a bad review for following the law.

Yelp
Best Pancakes in New England!!! Great food and service!!! We go all the time we are in town, very friendly staff my first choice for breakfast!!

Yelp
Hey. Liberty Is Back and Better than a Year ago. The cook who might have gone too far with his jokes wasn't there this time. I live in Maryland right now and i cannot find a better breakfast and for the price to boot! i miss rhode island's restaurants to most. and no matter what part of the state i lived in, we always drove to pawtucket for our breakfast at Liberty. The cook this time was a Gentleman, always has been. Go in '08 for a different experience, Eric. err- Paris. didn't try the weiners for breakfast this time, but i am sure THIS cook will make sure they are right, and if they aren't, he will fix you up... just speak up... lots going on in this little diner. take care and see ya there! ps . read the sign over the weiner section, Chuck really means it i am sure.
google avatar

Ava P.

Yelp
I just threw away my Eggs Benedict takeout. The eggs were raw. I lost my appetite. Such a waste of money!

M H.

Yelp
I have been buying wieners here for over 40 years. I was back home the other day, and figured I would go and get some since I don't have the opportunity to eat them where I am living now. The people I was with told me to go to another restaurant, but as I said I have been getting them for ages. I got 3 all the way, took them home, to eat. I took one bite out of the first one, and spit it out. It was terrible. I tossed all three in the trash, as the buns they are using now, are either not steamed or they were stale. I will go to the other place they told me to go from now on.
google avatar

Anonymous D.

Yelp
Nice family owned place. You can tell there's a lot of regulars there. Great portion sizes. The homefries are awesome! Good service! Nice little hole in the wall :) I hope to go again soon!

Yelp
Three things about Liberty lunch, friendly staff, small spot but great food! My sister and I were looking for fast service, inexpensive food and family oriented. This place is it honestly! Upon my arrival my 2 year old nephew was screaming and angry, the staff came over gave him crayons and paper to draw on, which calm my nephew down. Thank you Liberty lunch staff. Anywho we order the house special that day and literally got it in 15 mins. Eggs, home fries, toast & bacon. We payed 11 dollars for two of those and an apple juice for my nephew, and two OJ's for me and my sister. I was very pleased with this place and will definitely return !

Yelp
Best breakfast in town!!! Big portion, delicious and cheap. All the waitresses are awesome and very attentive.. I recommend this place to everyone!
google avatar

Bk G.

Yelp
This is hands down the best breakfast place in pawt. Not only is the staff super friendly and sociable, the food is reasonable priced. I personally love the French toast and ham steak. Also, the pancakes are the best I have ever had!!
google avatar

Allie P.

Yelp
A lovely little greasy spoon type place where everyone seems to know each other. Sure, it could be cleaner but it's clean enough and the food is great! The French fries are hand cut and perfectly cooked, the pancakes are the best I've ever had, and staff is friendly.

Shawn S.

Yelp
Saw some good reviews of this place and was in the mood for breakfast. I got their Texas style French toast with strawberries and whip cream with some home fries. Food was very good and fresh strawberries were amazing. Small diner that probably seats 40 maybe less. Great food and service definitely would go back.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Good food at a good price. Kind of a mom and pop type place. Service was good. Kind of place you would run into someone you have not seen in years.
