Best New Canadian Cookbooks, Fall 2022 | Eater Montreal
"For a local alternative to big online stores, Saint-Henri’s aptly named Librairie Saint-Henri Books is a great bet when hunting for cookbooks and culinary gift ideas." - Valerie Silva
"One of the best curated bookstores we’ve ever visited, this store is a place where you’re sure to leave with something in hand, and as a plus most books here are in English which is rare in the French-first city of Montréal." - Coolstuff Team
Great little store! They have an amazing selection. I might just have found my go to neighbourhood bookstore!

I had the best time last night at the book store at the Jan event. I was blown away by the staff's knowledge about her backstory, and really wish more bookstores in the city would follow suit in creating community like this. THANK YOU!!!

Great book store and I love the community aspect and events - the book clubs always have a good discussion and love the author events too.

Popped into this store on a whim (saw Mishima at the window) and was delighted by the selection here. Incredibly well-curated with an impressive selection of important writers outside the western canon. Had a lovely discussion with the worker there (sorry, I forgot your name!).

Support your local independent bookstore!
I inevitably buy something every time I go here, and if they don’t have what I’m looking for in stock, they’re typically able to order and receive relatively quickly.

One of my favourite book stores in Montreal! In addition to having an amazing selection of books, they also offer a wide variety of events including book clubs, book launches, and book matches. The staff are incredibly kind and knowledgeable. This book store is literally perfection!

A most welcoming and well-rounded community book store. The workers genuinely care about books, literature, learning, printing and community - the book process from A-Z. Hosting events with wine, publishers/soeaker, theater companies (e.g., Segal) and welcoming our dogs. With the library nearby and amazon at my fingertips I still choose LBSH.

Yelp
Bookstores are one of the nicest places to hang around and browse. LSH is no exception, they have a nice collection of books and they tend to highlight less well known authors.
The library also has events every couple of weeks including a book club and a wine ... thing. Never been to any of those but they sound nice.
The staff is very friendly, I have ordered a couple of books with them and the books arrive quickly and usually in good condition. In case there are shipping issues they also provide solutions.
The price is normal for a bookstore.
Overall I think supporting local bookstores is important and LSH is one worth supporting

Yelp
What an adorable little bookstore. It has the a lot of great varieties of books. I love this place because it has cozy and warm feeling. Of course, you won't find every single book here. They also sale some knick knacks, and they are very cute. All books have the regular price. I bought two books, and I payed 50$. I usually buy books on sale. What can I do? This charming place won my heart, and I wanted to support our local boutique. I must tell you; the staff are very friendly and helpful. Recommended!

Yelp
So happy to have a bookstore like this near me! Great selection of books both fiction and non-fiction. Do yourself a favour and visit. You will find something you never thought you'd want to read. If you like to read about current topics, essays and cultural changes this is the place!
Also, lots of little goodies like prints and merch.

Yelp
Adorable small independent bookstore on a side street just off Notre Dame Ave in St Henri. It's a single room with well curated eclectic choices. I defy anyone to walk out of here without finding something they want to read. They have a nice small selection of kids books too.
There are some local items like artwork, badges and carry bags available too.
Service was wonderful, knowledgeable, fun and friendly.
The world needs more bookstores like this. Drop in and support it if you're in the area!!

Yelp
This is the cutest little book store ever.
The gentleman whose always there is just lovely. He's got the friendliest energy and is always happy to help.
During Covid he order me a couple of books that came in quicker than had I ordered from chapters.
The store it's self is bright, beautiful and a nice little smaller size, however there is tons of books to choose from.

Yelp
This bookstore just opened in St Henri, offering a good selection of bestsellers for purchase, with fresh arrivals weekly. From the owner of Córdova nearby, the space is sleek and cozy, with a nice little sitting area and super friendly staff. I was welcomed to browse at my leisure and left super content with a new read.

Yelp
A literature major's dream. A delightful collection of French and English books including poetry, cookbooks, and children's books. Perfect gifts for everyone!
