10 Restaurants Worth the Drive From Philadelphia | Eater Philly

"An Old West-style saloon doesn’t exactly jibe with the strip mall vibes of Route 73. But venture inside and you’ll discover strong drinks, serious steaks, and an impressive salad bar — all the essential ingredients of retro steakhouse perfection. Here filets and New York strips are ordered at a butcher’s window, cut and cooked to order, and served with unlimited trips to the salad bar and plump baked potatoes to boot. For the real deal Library II experience, head in on Fridays when live cover bands take over the bar area." - Caroline Coral

I don't know why everyone hypes this place up so much. Its a decent steakhouse with a great salad bar. The prices aren't overly expensive but its not cheap here either. I got the king prime rib and it was the saltiest, fattest steak I've ever had. The rest of my party enjoyed their steaks so I guess I was the unlucky one.

My wife and I had dinner here in celebration of our wedding anniversary last night and were very glad we did. Everything from the atmosphere & service to the food & drinks were amazing. My wife had the 8oz filet and I had the 14oz NY strip. We both got a baked potato and shared a few other sides (mushrooms, Mac and cheese & creamed spinach). The portions were huge! Steaks were cooked perfectly, tender and delicious. The salad bar was a great start. Everything was fresh and the bread options were plentiful. For dessert we tried the cheesecake and the apple cobbler - both were perfect. We brought home plenty of leftovers. Looking forward to visiting again very soon.

We’ve been frequenting this restaurant for over twenty years! It’s definitely a little different now. I saw that they changed ownership so that makes sense. The steaks were outstanding and it’s one heck of a salad bar. Service was quick and friendly. It’s a lighter ambiance now-it was very dark with candles on each table previously. Much easier to see but I liked that old dark library vibe… The biggest change was the music! Super pop type music that totally doesn’t match the book shelves and wood environment. Come cool jazz or more low key music would make it so much better. My biggest complaint was no picked cucumbers and pumpernickel bread at the salad bar. As a non steak eater, the salad bar is my dinner and those were my favorites.

I love the ambience here. The staff is amazing. The steak and burger that my daughter and husband ordered were absolutely delicious! My salmon, however, was on the dry side and I could not finish it. Salmon can be hit or miss in some places. Overall our experience was great. If my picky eater of a daughter says the steak was delicious I'd say it's worth coming back here again!

Google
What a fantastic place. Was not expecting despite the name that I’d be walking into a full library “vibe” steakhouse. Our waitress Michelle was very pleasant attentive and even gave a brief explanation of the restaurant and how they acquired the books over the years. She explained that we were welcome to take one as well. We ordered the crab cake apps and each got a steak dinner (filet/prime rib) and garlic mashed to spilt and all were cooked to perfection. Finished the meal with a crème brûlée and espresso martini absolute perfection. Cost is about $120 per person if you are big into cocktail could run higher but they also have burgers and more affordable dining options as well. Would recommend!

Google
WOW!!! me and my boyfriend tried this place because I heard good things, and it did not disappoint. Managers constantly coming by to check on our experience, servers beyond attentive, food was exceptional. So much flavor, and I don’t think I’ll ever go to another steakhouse again. And on top of all of that I got their peanut butter cup martini and I almost fell to the floor. Absolutely delicious and amazing all around. If you’re a local or traveling for business you must try!!!!

Google
Honestly, nothing exceptional about this restaurant. Overall, it was different and an experience but that’s about it. The restaurants concept of a library was cool but the entire time we were there it smelled like old or used (like a thrift store,) which was off putting. The service was good. I appreciated our server, who was knowledgeable and kind. There’s a window where you place your order but you can also place it with your server if you wish to. There was a salad bar as well, which was okay. The steaks were good but nothing mind blowing. The side options were underwhelming. The cheesesteak egg rolls were my favorite and I definitely recommend for a starter. For drinks, my partner ordered a mixed drink that was basically water, which was disappointing. I did order a very pleasant red blend, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Three stars overall.

Google
The ambience was great. Lighting was dim. My partner and 9month old son accompanied me to this restaurant. I was excited about happy hour but realized since we sat at a table we couldn’t enjoy the half off drinks. Also the reason why I gave a 3 stars was because all of the dinnerware were dirty. The appetizer plates she brought out were greasy, cups and silverware had stains. The food was great except for the Lobster Mac but the drinks were very delicious. Very nice waitress. Over all i would revisit this establishment for the happy hour.

Yelp
Food is very good. A bit pricey but after you eat then you realize it's worth the visit

Yelp
This was my first time back in years and before I would enjoy my food no complaints. Today I went and while my waitress was nice, food was so sub par. The salad bar was also very lackluster when it used to be great. My friend sent her flank steak back because it tasted sour. I got the seafood broil and couldn't do more than half the crab cake and I ate half of it with the coleslaw due to texture and taste. Will not be returning, not good.

Yelp
Great service and has a good reputation in the area. Reservations are recommended especially during weekends. Good option for a date night, work dinner, or steak. The menu felt a bit old fashioned with standard steaks, salad, and appetizers. It is fairly expensive. Usually doesn't $150+ for a dinner with 2-3 people. I would have preferred a unique take on some of these dishes. Don't love the salad bar option personally.

Yelp
Salad bar was good but for steak definitely go somewhere else. The chain steakhouses in the area exceeds this place. My boyfriend and his mom ordered medium for their steak and it came out medium rare...on the more rare side. They sent it back and the cook put it back on the grill... his mom's steak came out charred and burnt on the outside. Very disappointing for a $400 meals for 4 people.

Yelp
Wednesday 5:57pm. 1. Love 1/2 price cocktails at happy hour (3:30-6) for FULL size drink. I also love that the bartenders are pros. PRO TIP...if you are sitting at bar sit between the lights. Edison bulbs are annoying if you are sensitive to that. 2. Salad bar is my bag. Caesar with option of whole anchovies. The other options are just solid choices (large green olives) and multiple bread choices with option of ice cream scoopers of butter. 3. Switch to a glass of red wine. Got a taste before I committed. Solid move by bartender. Wine glasses are perfectly matched for red. 4. $55 Wednesday 10oz filet special. Just wondering if you can order 2 X 1/2 side? Plenty of mashed for 2. 4. Trying to figure out if there is a perfect way to end a close to perfect meal. Amaretto? frangelico? Scotch? Actually I may need to find a cigar on the way home.

Yelp
Was a little nervous giving this place a try but it is literally walking distance from our hotel. Read a few negative reviews but it was a decent crowd so why not lol Food was fantastic. I got the ship and shore, king crab legs and a filet, strip steak, lobster Mac and cheese, stuffed shrimp with crabmeat and a side of creamed spinach. Have enough leftovers for another meal. Only knock is the kitchen was slow, but otherwise a very nice meal.

Yelp
Definitely good food. I like the dark ambiance too. Go there pretty frequently. But today I'm so Embarrassed to have brought my family here for Mother's Day to impress them, and after spending over $500 for 7 guests, was asked to finish up quickly so they could turn the table over for someone else. Sorry but I'm pretty worldly and that has NEVER EVER happened before. Not locally, not anywhere in the US. I apologized to the family for the low class management decision, and left. Sadly, it's one of my faves for 25 years and I'll never go back. Horrible judgement. You can tell all they want is money and peace, money and leave. Tell me from now until forever about their need to turn tables over...I don't care. I'm the customer. Goodbye Library II. No drama here, they ruined our dinner by trying to get us out. Feels gross.

Yelp
We tried again since we always liked it here but was more disappointed than last time. The steaks were barely an inch thick which is not what is expected for the price charged. Sadly we won't be returning.

Yelp
I have been searching for a great happy hour and I think I've finally found my spot (3-6 M-F and half off all drinks)! We were craving a good salad bar and decided to try Library 2 for the first time in years. We went right after work on a Friday and the bar was empty around 3:45pm. By 4:30 the bar was crowded. When we first arrived there was one bartender working but by the time we left they had 3 bartenders making drinks for the bar and for dinner tables. I started with a dirty martini and finished up with a chocolate Manhattan. I loved both but especially the Manhattan. The bartender that made my drinks was great. Super personable and made her rounds often to ensure nobody was waiting for a drink for too long. My dad ordered a few margaritas and my mom had a Cosmo and an espresso martini. Going by what my parents said their drinks were decent but well worth the happy hour prices. Our drinks were between $5.50-$7 each on happy hour which is a great price for martinis and specialty cocktails. I just did the salad bar which I loved. Lettuce was fresh, not wilted, and was constantly being refilled. There were lots of different fresh toppings to choose from and a handful of different loafs of bread that went great with butter. My dad got a NY Strip and my mom got Steak on a Stick (10oz of cubed and marinated filet Mignon and NY strip served with vegetables and baked potato). All of the steak was very tender. The cubed filet and NY strip had great flavor, but my dad said his NY Strip was good but was a bit under-seasoned (still a very good meal though). We will definitely be back and I can go as far as saying that this will be our new happy hour spot. The price we paid for drinks, the salad bar, and two entrees was very reasonable. The service we received was great. The atmosphere was what I envision in a bar when I'm not feeling like sitting in a dive. Overall we had a great experience.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years and the quality has gotten a lot worse over the past years. Today we had a graduation party and it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we have had. Service was fine but the food was defiantly sub par. Everyone ordered steaks medium rare and not one steak was cooked correctly. We are by no means snobs but I feel like you can expect a steak to be cooked correctly at a steakhouse. My daughter who we were celebrating ordered 10oz fillet and they served her two end-pieces of fillet both medium well?? We were charged $100 per person for food that was, at most, worth half that. Guess we will be looking for a new steakhouse - we are not going back...

Carole E.

Yelp
Celebrated graduation with family. Service was very attentive and prompt. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. There were many steak varieties as a Porterhouse, filet mignon, steak on a stick. Portions were large especially the prime rib. WE had shrimp cocktail appetizers and the salad bar was fabulous with such a large variety of items and delicious bread. We had different desserts, brownie and ice cream, apple dessert, crème brûlée all were delicious! We even picked out some books to look at from hundreds on the shelves. We were there 30 years ago for my son's graduation and now for his daughters. We all left full and happy.

Yelp
UNIQUE INTERIOR , SALAD BAR SECOND TO NONE & THE BEST STEAK I HAVE EATEN IN A LONG TIME!!! OK so I just have to let everybody know that I was recommended to go to this restaurant by a coworker who starting dining here over 20 years ago and told me they used to go weekly and they loved it so very much. They said it has been many years since they have eaten here so I told them that I would go and check it out and let them know what I thought! Dinner reservations were on a Saturday night at 7:30 and we were given a table by the salad bar. The hostess took a few moments and chatted with us about the history of the restaurant and asked us where we were from etc.. she was very sweet. Next, The interior is super cool with books, literally wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling, in all of the rooms. The menu was extensive with many appetizers, entrées, side dishes, sauces, and butters. We did a classic Stoli doli martini and Dirty vodka martini to start. We took our time and slowly made our way to the salad bar. The salad bar had Caesar salad that was already premixed in the dressing and whole anchovy fillets available on the side and these fabulous marble rye & pumpernickel croutons. There was wonderful items like beets and artichoke hearts, spinach, hearts of palm, penne pasta salad, potato salad, egg salad, fruit and loaves of bread and butter you could scoop! Our server Kayla was super sweet and told us if it was our first time we could opt to order steaks through the kitchen window where a chef, slices and weighs your filet mignon or NY strip based on your wishes. We selected thyme butter & au poivre butter and a side of mushrooms caps.. We kept it simple since the salad bar was so plentiful. During our dining experience, a manager named Michelle came over and spoke to us and she was lovely as well. The owner stopped by the table as well checked on us and we complimented him on the establishment which he mentioned he took over during Covid. He was so kind and offered us to ask for him if we ever went to their other restaurant THE PUB which I know is famously known in Jersey as well. Last stop was finishing our cocktails at the bar where the bartender took great care of us and we ordered the Apple Cobbler, divine... start to finish a stellar experience!!! Must try more menu items!!! Just wish I was off to enjoy their happy hour at some point which I hear is awesome!!! Please go to this place!!! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
This review replaces an old review. Since it is under new management. The decor has not been updated and the books really need to be cleaned. The price of the food has gone up to the point I'm not sure it's worth it. We had been coming here for a while before and the food is still good but I can't eat knowing the same dust has been here for over 40 years.

Yelp
This was our first time( from Atlanta) my husband friend recommended it.The setting was like a library but it was cozy. The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING our waitress name Meloney had the BEST customer service, her up front attitude had us laughing and made the time there more enjoyable

Mark P.

Yelp
It's been a while since our last visit. Walking through the doorway felt like stepping into a time machine, returning to where you remember having a wonderful dining experience. You knew you were about to enjoy a repeat performance and would be in good hands for the next 90 minutes. Always try to get the dining area closest to the Salah bar; I find that room to be the hub of all the action you are there to experience. You can find everything you are looking for on the menu, but then of course there's the old school way of walking up to the special window and viewing the side of steak you are interested in, where they then slice that portion of steak you want right in front of you and your guest. Enjoy it, it's worth it!!!

Yelp
The WORST!! Worst!! So the three of us decided to go out to eat tonight. Knowing that the LIBRARY offers half price off of bottled wines and drinks Till 6:00 pm. So we sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. Then decided to order a bottle of wine that we would drink at the bar and then continue at a table. We ordered three appetizers at the bar, knowing that we could bring back at the table as the waitress assured us. The one person in our party was a vegetarian that could not eat the food ordered for they were either one of something she did not like or the other was Meat!! So then we brought the appetizers to the table along glasses of wine. The one person who ordered the salad bar,, recently just got out of the hospital needed help to get her plate of bread and cheese. and other person helped her carry the bread and cheese while she got her salad bar menu. The waitress came up to the other person in the party and said there was no sharing, it was said that we know that and that was the that person was being a help. Well then.. it look like there were all vultures we're out swarming around us, making sure that there was no food sharing. As the our waitress mentioned to the person helping the person getting the bread & cheese. I had brought homemade cookies as a celebration& gift. While eating my salad bar food, and conversing with a glass of wine, the one person nibbled on two pieces of cheese. Along with my homemade baked cookies. The waiting staff still staring at us, and the bartenders to make sure we were not sharing food from the one person's salad bar! While experiencing this uncomfortableness of waitresses coming by others, they were rearranging the salt and pepper shakers from tables near by to see what we were eating at our table. And then when I went up to get my fruit that I could handle by myself, overhear the waitress staff at the end of the bar say "oh they're sharing food." Which was basically not the case. Yes, my one friend did eat "2" pieces of my cheese. So when we went to go ask for the bill. Upon looking at the bill, we were charged for "2" salads.!!! TWO!! charges for "2" salad bars. Where in fact, I was the only one who had the salad bar and my friend reached over and had two pieces of cheese while in between the other person and my friend were eating my delicious cookies. We asked upon receiving our bill to speak to a manager, so a manager appeared and said sorry you were sharing. You have to pay for "2" salad bars. I then said there was not 2 Salad Bar Orders. There was only one which I ate and my girlfriend said yes I ate two pieces of her cheese. So then we asked to speak to the head person in charge that could handle this situation and indignantly he said, do you want to speak to GP so we said yes so another man came to our table, who did not introduce himself, came over and said we had several people in our staff say my friend was eating cheese and we said yes she had "2" pieces as we were conversing, but that is not a salad bar expense, he argued and said that were sharing so we have to charge you the $23 for your sharing! Really, we said, !! Obviously it's just two pieces of cheese. I only went once up for salad bar, and once up for fruit and you think that we deserve to be charged another charge He smugly said "we can't allow this& & Yes!! " I said can't you be the better person and manager and just allow this to go and his response was can't you be the better person.! My friend got disgusted and said let's just pay the freaking money and get out of here. Then I said well you might as well go get to go plate and get your $23 worth at that point she was so fed up she said I'm not hungry. I'm done. So was getting our jackets on and ready to leave and just paid the bill for the two pieces of cheese at $23. Then the manager Bar tender smugly said how did it turn out, and I said-hmm it, turned out in your favor and he smirked back! The couple at the end of the bar said you really should've at least gotten the food to go. They heard the whole conversation. They said it was ridiculous the way we were treated! And we agreed, but trying to be the better person. The guys sitting at the table to the left of us said that was a bunch of crazy stuff as well. Maybe not thoes exact terms. Such pettiness!! I know how to be the better person and to be gracious. This restaurant is about making money and not making people happy. So make sure if you go for the salad bar and someone else goes for something else do not share or you'll be charged a $23 bill $23 some cents that's with including tax.

Yelp
Rather disappointing for the price point -- this was a miss for us. Service: okay -- our waitress was nice enough. They claim proper dress but have hosts in Air Forces and leggings, and staff in sweatpants. Salad Bar: very standard. The bread is slice your own" at the end of the salad bar and it freaked me out that so many people were touching the loaves of bread. Food: the steaks were very mediocre and frankly over priced for the quality and taste. My New York strip tasted like lighter fluid and my husbands ribeye tasted like dirty grill. The sides were honestly the best part. Atmosphere: you could tell this place was once a classy environment however, it's looking a bit run own. The bar with TVs is an eyesore compared to the classic library look, the tables are really packed in there and you're on top of one another and there are tables placed in areas too close to walkways, doors, service stations etc. several couples around us complained to the host and asked for new tables. Overall -- for the price, there are much nicer steak houses in the area that have a better atmosphere and better food. Would be a skip for me.

Yelp
Food is fantastic at the Library. Scallops wrapped in bacon was great, bacon nice and crispy and scallops cooked just right. Salad bar is best in the Area. 32oz King cut Prime Rib was very flavorful and cooked just right. Would of been 5 stars but everything came out to fast after telling them to bring things out slowly

Yelp
This place has been our go to for 30 years. Tonight the food was exceptional as usual. The drinks? $30 for a bourbon old fashion w/Buffalo Trace. My cousin and I each had 2...$60!!! Normally $15 but with Buffalo Trace...DOUBLE!!! We were not told of an upcharge! Total Wine will charge $36.99 for a 750l bottle!!! OUTRAGIOUS!!! I feel RAPED by this nonsense! BUYER BEWARE! Waitress SHOULD HAVE told us of the uncharge but DID NOT!!!

Anna M.

Yelp
We called for a party of 7, 5 days before our dinner and requested a specific table between the salad bar and the restroom because we had 2 in our party with walking disabilities. We called a day before to confirm our reservations and asked for that specific table. We arrived before our 7pm seating and saw people seated at our requested table. The woman seating said, "Oh we're sorry!" and seated us on another level and the farthest table, in the corner away from the salad bar and completely opposite the restrooms! As we walked to the salad bar we noticed the table we initially requested was empty! It wasn't 10 minutes from when we walked in! We mentioned we would have waited for that table had they told us it would be open in a few minutes. The same woman said itvwas reserved for another party!! How RUDE and uncaring for our party with 2 disabled patrons! They just didn't care! Pass this info on for disabled patrons requesting a specific table. Management just doesn't care about their disabled patrons.

Suzanne S.

Yelp
We had high expectations for the price point. When we arrived they didn't have our reservation. The staff just looked at us and it said it would be an hour wait. They didn't try to seat us. It was 5:15pm mind you and there were open tables. Even the manager just stood there and looked at us with no help. We ended up at the bar with little luck with better service. They ignored our group as a whole with minimal interaction. There were only 4 Of us. We thought for the pieces it would have been more upscale service and attire. Two of our meals were good. One meal was ok and the 4th one was not worth the price. Everything was Ala cart. The salad bar was fresh which was good. We didn't stay for dessert or more drinks. It felt more like a wings and beer place than an up scale steak House.

Yelp
The atmosphere was amazing. The servers were really nice and drinks were amazing as well. The presentation of the food was to die for. The seafood combo was delicious but I love to eat the skin of my potato but it was so hard and not tasty at all. The salmon and crab we got had a better potato but the salmon was not as broiled as mine was. And the lump crab is not what we expected so that is why we couldn't give it a 5 star but other than that amazing experience. I absolutely love the spicy mango margaritas and can't wait to go back to get more of those. I also really enjoyed the salad bar.

Mika G.

Yelp
I was there this past Saturday, we were a party of 13. Someone in my party asked for a hamburger without lettuce, it came out with lettuce, no big deal, we just requested that the lettuce be removed. The server took it back and brought it back the correct way. But then she proceeded to complain to another server about it and someone from our party happen to be walking by and overheard her. That really put a bad taste in my mouth. My bill was near $800 and she had to complain about taking lettuce off of a burger...really? She couldn't wait until she got home to complain. She definitely needs a course on customer service!

Yelp
Steak was amazing. First time having a porter house for two. Make sure you make a reservation. I had to eat at the bar.

Yelp
A+ service from the whole staff on Saturday night. I came back down from NY visiting family and we came here for dinner. Bartenders were great as we waited for our table. Fast and awesome service. Once we sat the wait staff was also very kind and gave great service. Food was very delicious. I see a lot of people complaining about the credit card fee on the check but everyone is doing is doing this now. When you get gas for your car it is more when you pay with a credit card correct? Anyway, the atmosphere is also so cool here. My experience at this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. I will be back!

Deborah M.

Yelp
Myself and me friend were just there during happy hour. The bartender Kevin was the rudest person ever! Right from the beginning when we first sat down. Will never go there again!!! 0 stars!!!

Yelp
Hadn't been to the Library II in quite a few years. We decided to return recently - and I'm glad I didn't put too much stock in others negative reviews. First, the French Onion Soup was outstanding! I love a good FOS, and this one has easily entered my top 5. I could've stopped there and given 5 stars but of course I was still hungry. Next was the salad bar. Everything looked fresh and I was able to build my own mountain of salad-goodness just the way I like it! For an entree - I had the 16oz NY Strip, and my friend had the King Cut Prime Rib. We both opted for the roasted garlic butter add-on; and damn that was a great choice! My strip steak was phenomenal. Cooked to perfection and tender and flavorful. I wish I could've eaten it all in the one sitting, but I was stuffed and took half of it home with me. My friend would not stop making noises eating his prime rib - I think he wanted some alone time with his big slab of meat. He swears that was the best Prime Rib he's had. Looked good from where I was sitting, but I was busy enjoying my strip! Service was great. She was friendly and attentive without being annoying. We for-warned her in advance that we were in NO rush and wanted to savor our meals and she graciously obliged us. This allowed us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed, which I was very thankful for (yes, we took good care of her as a result). The ambience looked like what I remembered from my last visit several years ago. Gave the feel of a nice steakhouse, pretty much what you'd expect. Menu Prices are a little higher than a chain restaurant, but I honestly felt like it was well worth it for the quality of food we had. Will definitely return in the near future!

Mary C.

Yelp
For the $300 we spent on dinner the best thing was the wine. We started with a dirty table cloth left on the chair. We ordered a bottle of wine and an app. Ordered a tomahawk steak medium to share and a baked potato. My husband got the salad bar which was included. The tomahawk steak came out looking great. We had to ask for the baked potato! Well he cut open the steak and it was raw! Too rare for him as well. Needless to say I refuse to send food back to a kitchen. Get it right the first time. We were rushed through the meal someone constantly asking to take our plates away. Really!!!! Then a saw an employee taking trash through the dining room side door. Isn't there a back door for that?? Needless to say we will not be going back to the Library. As we say "you're off the list".

Sandy ..

Yelp
I've been going to this establishment for many years, and I'll never return again. I received a gift card 3 years ago and wasn't able to use it until recently; because there is new ownership my gift card was not accepted; the manager did not budge or acknowledge any type of customer relation, i.e., some sort of discount or even a desert and although the food is consistently great, I'll never return. It made for an undesirable visit!!!

Rae H.

Yelp
After going to the library for years and never being disappointed, don't know what happened other than change of ownership. Fillet that was ordered med rare and was overcooked and sent back. The crab meat on top of the the other steak was so ice cold but it actually made the steak cold they called and the steak was also overcooked. Too many restaurants in the area serving steaks at these prices. After reading the owner's responses to other complaints and his lack of caring about the complaints, I would definitely never go back after 30 years of going to that restaurant. It's a shame when restaurants go downhill because the owners think that they're better than anybody else and don't want to heed the warnings by the complaints they're receiving.

Yelp
I was taken here with the promise they have the most amazing salad bar, and that is absolutely no lie. They have everything I could ever picture on a salad, including other (pasta) salads! The bar alone is worth the visit. Then there's the decor - books are everywhere, and it feels serious and cozy. There are lights to look like stained glass windows, and look into the rafters - more books! The main courses are also worth the mention :,-). The lobster bisque is okay, a little sweet, but looking back, save room for the salad bar! The steak itself was cooked to my directions and juicy, and the garlic mashed potatoes..... Oooh those were the perfect side to add to the steak juice. Go hungry, fast for the beginning of the day! There's a lot of delicious food worth the price tag, and you'll want to try it all.

Yelp
The ambiance is great.Steak delish but over priced.Service is a C. They also add an extra fee aside from your tip if you use a credit card which I thought was really not appropriate, especially since we weren't told.

Yelp
I just called to make a reservation for my birthday, next Saturday. I explained to the hostess that we had a "gift certificate", not a gift card. I received a hand written letter of apology (from upper management) along with a gift certificate to make up for the bad experience we had. The hostess proceeded to tell me that they are no longer accepting them. I told her there was no expiration date on the certificate and letter I received and she said it didn't matter. I was also told that this information was posted on their website and also posted in the restaurant. After checking the website, I didn't see anything saying that. She also asked if I had been in the restaurant recently. Obviously, if I had been there recently, I wouldn't have asked about making a reservation and using the gift certificate. I explained that we were looking forward to celebrating my birthday dinner there, and I was told to call back tomorrow and speak to someone in the office. I did receive a disingenuous apology from each person I spoke to. I will be contacting the office tomorrow. However, after my disheartening phone calls today, the excitement I had about celebrating my birthday there has left me very, very disappointed.

Yelp
Horrible experience from the moment we walked in. Food and service negative #fireRamiro

Yelp
Two stars only because of a credit surcharge. The food is still as good as the previous owners. Service was also spot on. The ambiance is also the same as the previous owners. But the additional credit card charges are pretty petty for a restaurant that charges premium prices. We didn't see a posted notification about the surcharge, but to be honest I didn't think to look for it as I didn't think a class steak house would nickel and dime their customers like that.

Yelp
Long time Library customers. Our last experience proves we will not be going back. It was my husband's birthday - he ordered a steak - medium rare - it was RAW! He sent it back - it took 20 min to come back - ( no apology) meanwhile my salmon was dry and tasteless. There was a dead fly in one of the vegetables on the salad bar - I had to tell 3 different people to take care of it. $ 150.00 later, no dessert, no drinks, we left as unsatisfied customers.

Yelp
Very uncomfortable and awkward situation with management. Menu states there is a processing fee when paying with credit card. FINE. However, when questioned about using a debit card, management became aggressive and told us not to return. Completely ruined our night. Also, loud crying babies throughout our entire meal didn't help. Management needs to be more professional.

Yelp
A VERY BAD dining experience. Upon visiting the Library in Voorhees for dinner, my husband asked the hostess if the salad that comes with his meal was okay for his wife to eat as long as we were not sharing the salad. The waitress verified that as long as there is no sharing of the salad we would not have a separate salad charge. Library. Rt 73 Voorhees. Upon receiving the bill, a separate salad was charged for $22. The waiter stated that is their policy that there is no sharing. At which point my husband asked for the manager. The manager confirmed there is no sharing. My husband told the manager that the hostess that seated us told us that a separate salad would not be charged as long as we were not sharing the salad. Things only went downhill from there when the hostess refused to admit to the manager her error. The manager suggested we leave and never come back stating, "We don't need people like you!" Our bill for one meal, no alcoholic beverages and without gratuity came to $130. We go out to restaurants frequently. We will Never, NEVER, NEVER step foot in this rude, disrespectful restaurant. Yelp
Was there 9 months ago and said never again. The wife talked me into another try. Waste of money. Now off the list. The good is the salad bar and nice drinks. The bad is the steaks are terrible. I had a strip steak med rare. It was very rare and had zero taste. My wife had a filet and again tasteless. I had tastier streaks at longhorn at half the price. Never again

Yelp
Terrible service. Bald bar manager is a bitter person. Food left a lot to be desired. Place seems dusty.

Yelp
The food was terrible Steak was tough and tasteless Who knew steak could have no taste? Salad bar ok I asked for water Waitress pointed a blue bottle on table with an attached lid? Said there's water there I'll get u ice? Food came bottle fell over into butter. Again I asked for just water? Ice wate? She replied I'll get u another bottle? I replied I just wanted tap water? She responded with yes I'll get u ice We were so disappointed beyond belief. Sad as well for we have been going here for years! Bill came 8$ for each bottle of water I was never informed about this nor did I ask for bottled spring water!! This has never been my experience here. We both were in shock. My sister was also there same day? She wasn't informed about water either? So consider this a scam! Bring your own water bottle. Better yet. Don't go Go somewhere else!! It's not the same. So sad. 8$ for something I didn't ask for! FYI what really has me peeved is the fact the bottles are reusable! YES reusable! So heads up Just remember the way it was! It's not the same! Bathroom filthy!! If I could I would give it a -20 Yet not available. So I'm forced to give 1 star

Yelp
Absolutely the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I have been coming here for 20 years. Always a good experience. Had great ambiance and charm. came for my wife's birthday with my two adult sons. These new owners have trashed this place. Filet Mignon was tasteless, no more bearnaise sauce, no more candles or even fake candles on the table. Totally different feel. Had a big fight with the so called manager. Seemed like they just grabbed someone off the street to fill the position. A $9 service charged appeared on the bill. I asked about it, they stated it was for using a credit card or debit card. i was never asked how I was going to pay. They just hope you won't catch it. I was going to pay cash. I told them I was not informed of this. They said it's on the menu. I asked to see it. The manager couldn't even find it at first. It was so small and it was so dark, no one would ever see it. I told the manager to take it off, i refuse to pay it. Her response was, "everybody is doing it". I told her I I was planning to pay cash anyway. So take the charge off and I will never step foot in this place again. She said she couldn't. isn't she the "manager"? It's just a money grab on already inflated prices. Just build the cost into your fees instead of trying to deceive or sneak this by your patrons.

Yelp
Have dined here for many years and generally had a decent experience, mainly due to the salad bar they offer. The last time I was there we took a large group and it was abysmal. The wait staff was nonexistent, we had to bus our own table several times to clear room, drink ordering was a chore as they were no where to be found, missing out on additional income. When the main meals finally came, almost every side order was completely wrong, we had to shuffle the plates amongst the multiple tables, it was so bad we just had to start laughing. I will not go back again, not even for the best salad bar in town. It was not a matter of not enough staff or it was too crowded, plenty of empty tables and waitstaff, just not willing to work.

Yelp
We had a party of 9 and were seated right away. During our time there, we had 3 or 4 different waitresses checking on us and take care of us. It was odd that we had to walk to a window and order our food ourselves, but then you go right to a huge salad bar with a lot of choices and delicious bread. The food was brought out and everyone's meal was done to perfection. There was a mixture of steaks, burgers, prime rib sandwiches, Mac and cheese, baked potatoes, appetizers and not one meal was wrong. This place is pricey, so don't go here if you expect to pay the prices at outback. But expect the food to be better here. I think it's funny to see people complaining about their price increases recently. Come on, what hasn't gone up in price? That's our world right now. This was a great dinner with family!

Yelp
Food was good, service was also good. Ambience is too dark , tables are too close and crowded. Prices were ridiculously high, this is not a place I want to frequent. I liked it better when the previous owners had this place
