I read about this place in an article and was excited to check it out and support a small business but my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. I went my kids and when we arrived we pulled on the door and discovered it was locked despite an Open sign. We were about to leave when we heard the door unlock. A young lady opened the door, we walked in but there was no acknowledgement, no "welcome" or "bienvenidas". She proceeded to sit on a chair by the window and be on her phone. There was another young lady behind the register with the same nonchalant attitude, no greeting whatsoever from either one. I went in looking specifically for Spanish books for my baby and neither employee offered to help or show us around. We looked around and shopped in awkward silence. I found a bilingual book for my baby and wondered if there were more, but the employees apathetic attitude discouraged me from asking them. I walked to the register to pay and the lady immediately asked "Cash or card?" No "did you find everything you needed?" I paid, said "Thank you" and my kids and I walked towards the door. The lady that was sitting on a chair on her phone got up to unlock the door for us and we walked out. No "thank you for coming" or "see you soon" from either one. Needless to say I won't be returning. The employees need customer service training.

Google
Such a great bookstore. I was able to buy bilingual books for my great-nieces when they started language immersion classes. And then libros en espanol once they were older. The selection of books in English and Espanol is always worth checking out. If you go on Saturday or Sunday, the pop=up coffee bar has good coffee and even sells stickers. Well worth a visit! Also, you can buy books online through Bookshop.org and help out this incredible independent bookstore.

Great community institution promoting local authors, with some Spanish language sections as well. The used academic books are quality and affordable.

Google
Fantastic little independent bookstore with various books that tell many different and otherwise overlooked perspectives. They also host some interesting events with local activists and authors that I hope to be able to catch when I can (follow their instagram for these details!). Every time I come here, I make sure to support the little pop-up cafe they are now hosting (Tacita Coffee Company). Definitely get out there and support this little bookstore and get your caffeine fix at the same time while you’re perusing their selection!

It is an absolute pleasure everytime I go here. I usually get my books from the library, but the thoughtful selection of new and used books here is so impressive, it's hard to walk out without a book. I also can't wait to attend one of the events hosted here. It's definitely more than just a bookstore. Highlights: local authors/poets/zines, spanish-language books, lovely selection of kids' books, fiction and non-fiction across the full-spectrum of the human experience, friendly staff!

Google
Wonderful small business, with diverse reading selections. Very active in community outreach and offers tons of community readings, open mic nights, and other creative events. Highly recommended for the women, children, POC, and woke communities at large.

Google
A lovely little store with a good selection of Spanish and English books! Completely recommend if you're interested in local literature. I'm so happy we got the chance to visit, and I'm hoping to attend an event here, too, before heading back to Canada.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing! I drove 35 minutes to go visit what I thought would be this little hole in the wall book stand. But I wanted to check it out because I had heard of the good it does for the community and wanted to support it... and also to browse their Spanish book collection. I was immediately taken aback at the diverse selection of both new and used books. Although it is a small store, it is packed with so many good options. I went in to browse and maybe pick up one or two newbies, but ended up leaving w 7 gems. All used books, but in good condition. With taxes, I spent only a little over $30. I was able to pick up books of stories with Mexican, Nicaraguan, Salvadoran, Puerto Rican, and Indian backgrounds. I was in literary heaven! My favorite part of the shop was a little room in the back that has shelves stocked with really old stuff. There are 2 chairs in there for patrons to sit and browse, and black and white photographs draped on the walls to accentuate the room. I had an immediate spike in endorphins! Other pros: the staff is very helpful, they have a little coffee cart from a local business pop up on weekends, and they host various community events/workshops. I love how community oriented this business is and hope that more people continue to support it!

Yelp
So I grew up in the area and have seen quite a few changes to the neighborhood occur, but I'm quite thankful to have this establishment show up for the purpose of presenting and highlighting local voices that deal with quite a few socioeconomic and cultural issues. This is an independent bookstore that carries and caters from quite a few new and used books/works by local, often overlooked, and/or underrepresented authors, academics and journalists. Of course, they also do carry some more mainstream works. The staff here is very friendly, and they occasionally organize events with authors that should be more recognized. The works found here can vary from well-researched offerings that help give a more accurate and informative perspective than the whitewashed narratives of mainstream works, to fictional books with well-written characters and their stories that help address the under-representation of minorities in literary works. Love that it has books in Spanish since this will help people who are trying to learn or just improve their proficiency, while also catering to those who just prefer reading in Spanish. Definitely support this establishment if you're in the mood to expand on your bookshelf selection. I'll definitely be coming back here.

Yelp
LibroMobile is a gem in Santa Ana. I really appreciate their hard work setting up events and encouraging everyone to mix, hang out, get educated, express themselves, and discover what diversity of cultures truly means. The bookshop space is great; the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, they make great recommendations if you're not sure what you want. If you can't shop in person, definitely hit up their website. I bought a gift online this week; the shipping is reasonably priced as well as expedient. What could be better? Make sure to check them out! We need to keep our indie bookstores up and running far into the future.

Yelp
I really enjoy this small hidden gem. Nestled in a strip mall, this small bookstore has an array of books from known and local authors alike. They have rooms that can be used for workshops and practices. There is coffee available if you need a caffeine pick-me-up.

Yelp
This week, I stumbled on a hidden gem of a bookstore. As I stepped inside, I was struck by the incredible variety and inclusivity of their book selections. Best of all, I managed to get five fantastic books for just $30! Will definitely come back!

Yelp
While we were strolling around downtown Santa Ana recently, we stumbled onto Libro Mobile, a tiny, cute bookstore that just opened in the area (it was a book truck before, kind of). Now it finally has its own space off 4th St. with Spurgeon (it's a cute back alley with street art to look at as well), near the Yost Theater. The people working here were very nice, cool, fun to chat with. There isn't an indie bookstore in downtown Santa Ana, so Libro Mobile is a nice addition to the area. They sell mostly gently used books, a bit expensive (half of the regular price). The selection is OK, it could be better organized, but since the business just opened in a regular space, there's time. My husband found a cool film book and I bought it for him (it was his b-day weekend trip!), like I mentioned, $10 (bit steep), but good condition. In the era of bookstores disappearing, it's great to see a new one opening, especially an indie one. So if you live in the area or you visit, check it out. You might find something cool, especially if you're a bookworm like myself. Way to go, Libro mobile!

Yelp
This bookstore was wonderful. Walking in, I immediately felt welcome. All of my questions about the books were answered but I was also given information about the neighboring area. I experienced a great sense of community here. Will definitely be buying books here more often!

Joan T.

Yelp
This is the only independent bookstore in the area, so I go out of my way to support it. They accept donations of books - they have a free library cart in the next-door food court. They also have a selection of children's books - some bilingual, and a selection of books in Spanish as well as graphic novels, etc. It's the kind of store where you have to spend a little time perusing the shelves. If you don't find what you want, you can always order online at BookShop.org and support this bookstore. Be sure to ask the staff for help if you need it.

Yelp
Amazing place for new and used books. Many sections for all readers, including for kids. Community space also!

Yelp
This is such a cute place, only found it because I was walking around the area to get quaffee. Book stores are so underrated. If you're in the area you should definitely check it out, the owner is actually a local too!

Yelp
Bookstore in Santa Ana specializing in books written by authors of color. Tons of zines (like a wall full of them!!!!). Plus lots of used fiction and some academic social justice books. They also have a free little library. A must for book lovers and those that want to get back into reading.

Yelp
Very helpful: Referred me to another bookstore, and Answered my call promptly, too, on early Sunday night! Thank you :)
