I've been waiting to review this place even before I moved in 4/2015. I hope I don't miss anything, and I'll try to be brief, yet explicit. Don't let the extremely nice main office and surrounding few feet of the property fool you - walk around all the buildings - there is no grass, trash everywhere, unsupervised kids damaging property and leaving belongings everywhere.
I set up my electric a month and a half prior to moving in, but management wouldn't let them in to turn in on. After moving 2,400 miles I needed to be moved in the day I arrived, but it took at least four days for management and the electric company to coordinate and fix the issue. At a cost of $100/night for a hotel, it wasn't ideal.
I live in a 1 bed/1 bath in the 'condo' side in an upstairs unit. The unit was not painted two-tone like it was supposed to be, so all of the walls are just white primer. Management said it was because there was no power; however, the painters use their own generators. The apartment was not cleaned before I moved in - there was human hair all over the bathroom, dead roaches in the kitchen, and dirty appliances. The apartment was not the proper layout I was told it was going to be, so my furniture did not fit as expected. The fireplace mantle is falling off and the tiles are mostly broken as well. There was a ton of water damage near the front door; obvious repairs beneath the carpeting; and the outside storage closet is totaled (water damage on all the walls and the door).
Apartment sites list the property as having ceiling fans... It does, there's one in the apartment in the 'dining' area, none in the bedrooms or living room. Not very helpful.
It is also listed as being a gated community. It IS gated, but the gates are only closed from 7pm - 7am and if anyone shows up when they're closed, they just park in front of the gate until a resident needs to get in and opens the gate. The 'gated community' adds no value to the complex. It also lists the complex as having a private security firm. It does, but management has not authorized them to do anything to residents breaking laws or community rules, other than asking them to stop...
In at least every building there is at least one group of individuals that does not seem to work. Instead, they stand in front if the stairs of their building and talk loudly, drink, do drugs, let their infants cry, and listen to music playing from their apartment. This happens all day, every day, and nothing is done by management about it. If the complex's security is called, they talk to the group who follows the rules until security is gone, then its party as usual.
Using http://sanbernardino.ca.crimeviewcommunity.com/default.aspx, you can see how many incidents the police have responded to at the complex (29 calls from 1/1/16 to 6/16/16). There have been numerous aggravated assaults, burglaries, family assaults, intimidation's, and larcenies. I know there have been more calls that the police never made it out to.... I've had to call on one of my neighbors numerous times because he abuses his pre-teen son, and has extremely loud parties often.
What else? You have to pay $25 to have an access card to get into the mail room, otherwise you can use the complexes on Friday only.
There is no business center at the complex, as listed on apartment websites.
There is some assigned parking, but there will be someone parked in your spot or blocking you in/out of your spot, and you have to call a tow to have them removed. And trying to find open visitor parking is almost non-existent.
There are not stainless steel appliances in the units, only in the model they show you to make you think that's what you'll be getting. The dishwasher leaves a white chalky film on your dishes, and is near impossible to removed once it's baked on. Yes, I even hate the kitchen sink! The faucet is too high and un-movable and the sink is so shallow that when the water is on and hits anything water splashes everywhere.
I'm sure I will think of other things and update my review accordingly. I will also try to respond to comments about Lido, that's how much disgust for this complex I have. It has not been a pleasant, safe, quiet living situation to say the least.
