"A dolphin surfaced 20 yards from our table last time we were sitting dockside. Even that slippery fellow seemed to be discreetly checking for famous people at the pool. This outdoor spot in The Standard is split between paying members and people who parked half a mile away to avoid the $40 valet. The latter group peeks into the pool through the bushes to see if Alix Earle’s makeup is waterproof, while the former pretends not to care (even though they’re looking hard beneath heavily tinted designer sunglasses). At the end of the day, everyone visits The Standard to feel relevant." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, julia malave
"The food at Lido (mostly seafood and sandwiches) is not as good or as cheap as it should be, but these are the sacrifices we make for one of the best waterfront views you can have while eating an OK $32 cheeseburger. This place is located in The Standard Spa, which means you also have an above-average chance of seeing a celebrity or overhearing a conversation about someone’s recent luxury silent retreat/juice cleanse. But that view from the dockside tables is what really deserves your attention." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino
"Lido is an outdoor restaurant located inside The Standard in Miami Beach. The view (not the food) is definitely the main attraction. Lido faces Biscayne Bay, and it's pretty at sunset if you're at the right table. Stick to small plates that are hard to mess up, like raw bar dishes and dips. But it is worth putting up with average hotel food and a $27 burger for this view. And if we're judging by atmosphere alone, it's one of the best waterfront spots in town. They also have a Happy Hour Mon-Thu from 4-6pm, with $5 beer and select snacks below $10." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo
"Lido, located inside The Standard in Miami Beach, meets all the criteria for a perfect sunset restaurant - it faces west, is outdoors, and has a waterfront view. Plus, Happy Hour (Mon-Thu from 4-6pm) times nicely with watching the sun melt over the Miami skyline. There are small plates you can share, like hummus or shrimp cocktail, as well as burgers, sandwiches, and steak. This is a hotel restaurant on Miami Beach - a waterfront one, nonetheless - so be prepared for that burger to be $20. But that’s all the more reason to come during Happy Hour, when beer is $5 and select snacks range from $4-8." - ryan pfeffer
"We really do wish the food at Lido was better, because it’s one of the most beautiful outdoor restaurants in Miami. Instead, it’s fine. Just fine. And the food’s level of fine-ness combined with the fact that this place is located in The Standard, a property full of people who probably have access to a yacht, makes this a solid see-and-be-seen spot. Come during sunset, order oysters, drink frose, and try to have a look on your face that screams, “Yes, you should invite me on your yacht.”" - ryan pfeffer
