3 Best Day Trips from San Diego | Condé Nast Traveler

"Set within the Lido Marina Village retail complex, this hybrid bottle shop and gastropub is housed in a cool, all-black building facing the marina. Decor is polished, with warm woods, black accents, and brass flatware; there's a small patio that overlooks the bay. You'll see date-nighters and friend groups, all of whom flock here for chef Joel Harrington's farm-to-table small plates, like charred eggplant hummus, curried beef meatballs with mint yogurt, and a can't-miss burrata with roasted squash, candied pistachios, and pomegranate." - Archana Ram

We had the Sunday brunch at Lido Bottle Works today for the first time. We ordered the crispy chicken sandwich and the sausage croissant, both with fries. The chicken sandwich tasted good but the meat portion was on the lighter side. The fries was disappointing. It looks good and it was seasoned well but it was overcooked. The sausage sandwich was the best part of that brunch. The sausage meat was tasty, the croissant was fluffy and tasty! Our server was very friendly and accommodating! We will be back to try their main dishes on a different day!

charming, cozy spot offering waterfront views, delightful food, and an engaging atmosphere. The steak arrives juicy and expertly prepared, served with potatoes and mushrooms, perfectly cooked and seasonally appropriat. Ideal for a relaxed date night or casual dinner with friends. Highly recommended.

Lido Bottle Works has been and will always be my wife’s and I favorite spot. Don’t let the name fool you, the food is incredible and is always being elevated to a new level. They are changing menu items and ingredients with the season and have such a great selection of beer, wines, and now cocktails. The staff are all so friendly and nice and we consider them family everything we are in! For me it’s a must visit in Orange County not just Newport. It sits right on the water overlooking the Newport Bay. People watch, check out all the boats and Duffys going by. It’s a beautiful area and a beautiful restaurant. Cheers to many happy hours and amazing food at Lido Bottle Works!

Decided to try this waterfront restaurant. It checked all the boxes. Excellent service, delicious food, and you can not beat the waterfront atmosphere. Highly recommended.

We came in for dinner on Saturday night. Reservation recommended since it's quite popular. The restaurant has a casual lively vibe, but it's a bit too loud and noisy to be able to carry a conversation. The menu is rather short but offers some good entree options such as crispy salmon and venison. The service was attentive and friendly. 1 hour free parking is available with validation, but you'll have to pay extra of you stay for more than an hour.

We were fooled by the low key no frills exterior…but wow this place is a stand out. They are so much more than a bottle shop. The food is some of the best I’ve had in years. The service was perfect and there are great views. I’ll be back anytime I visit the area!

We absolutely did not know the vibe of this place based off the name and were expecting some sort of chill bottle store, which this is not. We went on a Sunday around brunch-time so it was busy as lots of people want to sit on the boardwalk. And the seating options are pretty nice, airy outdoor seating by the boats. We grabbed two seats at the outdoor bar. The cocktails are a bit pricey but probably not so for the area. While we enjoyed our drinks, we were really let down by the service. They started off friendly enough and efficient but at some point we really figured they had forgotten one of the cocktails because it took them so long to make it (while we were watching them make so many other drinks). They apologized for the wait, which is fine, but I don't totally know what happened. They were also pretty busy so not necessarily the most personable. Will probably explore some of the area before coming back for drinks.

We often stop here because we know we will get a seat at the bar. Love the bar staff, and the atmosphere, including the water view. The happy hour is excellent and the food is spectacular.
