Such a cute vegetarian spot in the heart of the BU campus - the food is decently priced for the size (a smidge cheaper than CAVA prices, each bowl is priced at around $9.50-$10.50). They also offer soups, salads, and you can make a bowl into a wrap for $1 more. We ordered:
+Spring falafel bowl
+Thai peanut sutra
Was a little disappointed by the falafel bowl - the flavors were a bit muted and wish there was more tahini sauce that came with this. The falafel ended up being a bit dry for my taste - again, blaming this on the lack of sauce. The bowl was 30% peas which I wasn't a huge fan of since they advertise this as having equal portions of asparagus, broccoli, dill, roasted chickpeas and watercresss. Everything just tasted like it was steamed, with no seasoning of any sort on top of a bed of rice. The Thai peanut sutra however, was the bomb dot com. The mushrooms were so soft and chewy, the pineapples added a kick of sweetness, and there was a good balance of grains, vegetables, and sauce. As others have mentioned, definitely think this place has some quality control issues - seems to be a hit or miss the more often you go.
They offer smoothies, lattes, and juices here which looked AMAZING. Hot Mexican chocolate, iced blue ocean, iced golden milk, blue magic smoothie... the names itself scream faaaaancy to me :) They had a whole menu just as long as the food menu dedicated just for drinks. Will definitely have to give this a try and update the review when I do!
The space inside is so adorable and picturesque, too bad you still aren't allowed to dine in here yet. I got a glimpse of it when placing an order inside and could definitely see myself getting some work done or chatting it up with friends one of these days, if they ever end up opening indoor seating again here.
Just the fact that one of bowls we ordered wasn't seasoned well and seemed to be too many inconsistencies, as well as it taking us about 25 minutes for us to get our order, even though this is known to be more of a grab and go (DIY bowl kind of place), knocking off 2 stars. I appreciate the cafe for what it is and is awesome to see a healthier dining option amidst rows and rows of fried chicken shops and fast food restaurants in the brookline / Allston area, they need to up their sauce game!!
