Google
Fantastic food, service, and decor. Chicken salad was delicious and homemade. The quiches were flaky and light. We finished off with a sampling of pies, which were top quality, so fresh and tasty. Even the keto ones, which I was somewhat skeptical on, they really nailed it. Service was so kind and warm. Hands down a true Abilene find and must have if passing through or visiting!

Google
The pie flight is pictured below - I recommend the sopapilla and key lime pie! I gotten quite a few flights and they vary in size each time. Their lasagna is also good, really cheesy and flavorful.

Google
SO GOOD! What a fun find! I was going to another place but it caught my eye! I didn’t get a pic of the food bc I ate it up so fast! Cute, homey, clean atmosphere. Super friendly, hospitable staff. The food was fresh, healthy and tasty! I’ll be coming back on my next trip to Abilene! Even have a cute little shop called “The Pantry” inside restaurant with natural lotions and sorts of things. Also to-go items to take home for dinner!

Google
In town for work and heard the place was good. I got the chicken pie and it did not disappoint.

Google
Update: I do not recommend the "deep dish pizza" as it is a regular pie depth of crust and then an inch of cheese 😵 Everything else we've had is delicious. The best old fashioned chocolate pie I've ever had. Banana Pudding pie is a family favorite. The pie vending machine helps with late night cravings, but the prices and selection are better if you go inside. Use the I Buy Abilene app for a 10% discount off $20+

Google
Decided to try this place since it was Pi day (03/14). Staff are very friendly and do an excellent job of making the place warm and inviting. Per person it was about $16 for a combo which included a entree (kinda bland in taste), a side (a half spoonful of pasta salad), a drink, and a slice of pie. Wasn’t very filling either. If you’re looking for pie I recommend this place. If your looking for a meal, I’d suggest going somewhere else and coming here for dessert.

Google
Really enjoyed the pies here. Got the Chocolate pie as wells as the Coconut, both sugar free and by the slice. Very good indeed. I saw Banana Pudding in a cup I can’t wait to try next time. They have lots of goodies I haven’t tried yet and some good food on the menu. A bit pricey but worth it when you taste it.

Google
Always wanted to try but I never remember to come to this side of town!!!! The owner (Leslie) was very polite and was so friendly!!! She made sure that I had everything I needed and took such good care of us. I’m so excited they are opening one on the northside of town, can’t wait. Thank you Leslie for your time and kindness!!! (I’m a basic plain jane person, and Key Lime 🍋‍🟩 Pie is my absolute favorite!!!)

Yelp
I flew in from Louisville Kentucky to help my bestie pack up. We stopped buy for lunch before packing up to leave Abilene. I had the southwest wrap which was very good and flavorful. My bestie had the chicken pot pie, she said it was homie and something to get when you want to sleep after a long day. We also had some pie. While ordering all I heard was eclair pie and I know that's what I wanted. It was very good not too sweet I think just right. When ever I hit Abilene again I'm definitely stopping by again.

Yelp
The fantastic food service atmosphere. Don't miss out on this wonderful place. Great prices, friendly faces

Yelp
Awesome little spot. I come in once a week and get 2 Chocolate Chip cookies . They are that darn good . Their pie is amazing and so are the Sandwiches, but those cookies . Don't sleep on them . I've also had their Chicken Slad Sandwich and it's amazing. Did I tell you about the Chocolate Chip Cookies? . Service here is also good. Everyone if friendly and often checks in on you while here.

Yelp
So I am obviously late to the game on this one but I had not been in Life of Pie in a really long time. So I thought that it was just pies and quiches and normally I bake my own. But I had some really delish sopapilla cheesecake at TCT the other day and turns out Life of Pie is who makes their desserts so ordered 2 for a party I was hosting and they were delicious and a big hit but ALL of that to say I have been missing in my opinion the BEST chicken salad in town. I was starving when I went to pick up my pies so I ordered a chicken salad sampler. 3 big scoops of 3 kinds of chicken salad. The dill was my fav but they were all so good. It reminded me of when Natural Health Food Place had it on 7th. Plus I want to say it was only like $7 .I didn't take any pics so I borrowed some of theirs. But I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Clean comfortable cafe atmosphere. Old time west Texas friendly service. Delicious lunch, PERFECT PIE!

Yelp
I love Life of Pie and they have some ready to cook entrees in their pantry as well as great sandwiches and pies They sell slices of your favorite and when they are closed, you can use their vending machines outside that hold slices of pie. The owners are local and go out of their way to please their customers. The even cater with their pie truck and have used customer suggestions to try varied pies, such as Keto, and sugar free pies. The staff is very friendly and I really enjoy every visit!

Yelp
This place is so cute. The moment you walk in and you already feel so welcome. Immediately greeted with a smile. I ordered the chicken pot pie lunch special which included a drink, salad and a slice of pie for $15.95, which is a great deal if you ask me. We didn't eat at the boutique as it was a take out order. Everything is packaged so well and not to mention the food was good. Highly recommend making a stop to this place.

Yelp
Nice pie. $22 for their signature coconut cream, which was delicious take out. So, why not 5 Stars? 1. Because when I buy a dessert I expect a jovial, happy, perhaps even perky person to sell it to me. Instead I got a middle aged guy who seemed tired, especially of selling pie. 2. I needed to travel a couple of hours with the coconut cream. Could I have ice? No we ain't got none

Yelp
What a find! This place has outstanding eats and even more impressive customer service! Free pie samples- need I say more??? We were visiting Abilene for the day and stopped in for a late Saturday afternoon lunch. My wife and I both ordered one of their lunch specials which came with a side salad and a piece of pie for a very modest price. I thought my slice of deep dish pepperoni pizza was better than her chicken pot pie, but both were very tasty. My decently sized slice was fresh out of the toaster and oozed with mozzarella chhese. The keto-friendly almond nut and ricotta cheese crust was surprisingly good. The chicken pot pie just had too many English peas but was otherwise good and had a nice, flaky crust. Now onto the pies... we created our own pie flight and were not disappointed. We ordered a slice of their top three selling pies and found them all excellent. The "Toes in the Sand" (Keylime) pie had good texture and flavor, just wished it was a little colder. The coconut cream pie ("Mom's Favorite") was perfectly sweet and flavored. The stand-out to us was their Chocolate Buttermilk pie: think of the perfect tasting brownie with a nice, airy texture. We both realized that the only way it could be any possibly better would be with a nice scoop of ice cream on top- and they offer just that with their pie sundae! Dohhhh! As we were eating our pies we saw a group sitting at the table next to each have one delivered and thee pie sundaes all looked epic. Next time! And to complete our pie nirvana, Leslie (the wife-half of the restaurant ownership) spontaneously offered us samples of two more of their unique pie creations: the "Pirate" (jalapeño glavored keylime) had a nice little bite to it and was solid, but we thought the "All American" (caramel apple cream cheese with bacon crumbles on top) was fantastic! Eat here!

Yelp
Experience was not what I expected. It's not really a place to go have a meal, and there aren't that many pies on hand if you are a walk in. It seems you primarily have to order ahead (24 hrs) if there is something in particular you want. The pie itself is pretty good, and it's nicely done inside but I'm not sure what would inspire me to go again. Also all plates and silverware are disposable, not environmentally conscious. Was super excited about this place because of a restaurant we went to in Colorado Springs called 3.14 Pi, one of the coolest dinners I've had in a while. Tons of different gourmet savory and sweet pies, much more of an actual restaurant. Maybe my expectations were too high.

Yelp
This bistro is really cute... they have changed a lot since my last time in... they now have a grab and go refrigerator with pies and goodies and a pie vending machine outside for after hours. I highly recommend this place. The staff gives the meaning to customer service. Always created and treated like family

Yelp
The place is quaintly decorated. I was greeted with a smile by Leslie, the store owner! Magnificent customer service! She was knowledgeable on the pies I asked down to the special ingredients that sets her pies aside others. She even allowed me to test just in case but I already knew what I wanted low-key I chose the Buttermilk pie. I didn't ask about calories because I knew I would have talked myself out of it. Boy, The absolute best "chess pie" I have taste in forever! The sugar, buttermilk, egg and nutmeg was the peeerfect blend Not too too sweet. The crunchy soft buttery crust was yummers. Yes both crunchy and soft in places it needed to be. The perfect sweetness! I'm a sucker for a great buttermilk pie and she got me! Thanks for your superb hospitality! If you are Abilene, come visit life of pie! You won't be disappointed
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent pies! Haven't tried the food items, but have sent friends visiting the Abilene area to stop in for their pies. Staff is friendly, atmosphere is fun.
google avatar

Melissa W.

Yelp
My mom and I stopped by this gem this afternoon for some of the most delicious pie ever! She had the buttermilk and I had the cherry crumble. Both were perfect! Went inside to get it to go, but will dine in next time after seeing how cute it is and the wonderful menu!

Yelp
The service was friendly, caring, and attentive. The pie spectacular. I had lunch there--the chicken salad was gorgeous, then the coconut cream pie? Delicious. Couldn't resist taking home the banana pudding pie. My son had the chicken pot pie then the chocolate buttermilk for dessert (he took home the chocolate truffle pie). We'll be back for sure!! Our take home pies were just as gorgeous. There's also a pie dispenser machine outside. Very innovative too. Love this place.
google avatar

Kyle M.

Yelp
We got a Chocolate Truffle Pie from the pie-vending machine in front of their store and it was VERY good. My 13 year old said "10 out of 10." My 9 year old said it was the best pie she ever had.
google avatar

Helayna W.

Yelp
I have come to Life of Pie many times and they NEVER dissapoint. Today I had the chocolate pecan pie (left), the chocolate truffle (middle), and the mocha latte (right). The chocolate pecan had a crunchy and slightly chewy filling on top of a tasty flakey crust. The chocolate truffle started with a crumbly chocolate crust topped with rich smooth chocolate 'cream' and what tasted like homemade whip cream (this definately wasn't from a can). Not to mention the cute playful sprinkles on top to add some fun. The mocha latte had a chocolate bottom too but, the mocha fulling was so light and fluffy that it took me to cloud 9. This blended well with the whip cream it sat under which look like it had some chocolate or expresso swirled on top. They have so many flavors ranging from original and unique to fun twists on old classics. Some pies are sweet, some are spicy, and some are even keto friendly. Everything taste homemade and made with tons of love. All in all you should DEFINATELY try this place! You are seriously missing out if you haven't already.

Yelp
I was in the mood for some comfort food, specifically chicken pot pie and I've been meaning to go to Life of Pie many a times but usually get overruled by the peckish and sushi loving teens. Well today momma bear was having none of their sass and got her way. Life of Pie is darling! So many choices in their menu that I will have to go back and sample them all--the quiches sound awesome. I wish they had a shepherds pie but maybe I'm dreaming ahead of myself. My book club will be meeting here in the near future-I will insist!!. It's perfect for a light lunch and a serious throw down to Rage About the Page. The chicken pot pie was flaky and moist and at 6inches, was perfect for lunch. Loads of chicken meat (not chicken cubes like some pies-bleeck) w/ample veggies but not soaking in a wad of cream sauce. Makes me crave fall/winter, especially since it's the middle of July as I type this, lol. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Being a big and hardy Texan(lol), this isn't normally a place I would pick to eat. But, I know the owners and I want pie! The lunch special is $11.95. You pick from a chicken pot pie, deep dish pizza, or the quiche of the day. Includes a salad, drink, and a piece of pie. A good deal! Now, if you use the I Buy Abilene app, you get the pie flight instead of a piece. You pick 3 half slices. Winner. I had the chicken pot pie and salad, which were very good. For my pie flight, I chose pecan, buttermilk, and are you ready for this? Jalapeño key lime pie! I know it sounds crazy, but it was really good. I actually make my own key lime pie, because my recipe is so good. But this has a kick, you can actually taste the jalapeños! The buttermilk pie might be the best I've ever tasted. So, I definitely recommend you try Life of Pie. I'm going back to try the quiche and the chocolate buttermilk pie. See you there!

Yelp
Had the chocolate truffle pie- it was an absolute 10/10 and worth every penny! Will be coming back for the lunch menu

Yelp
Delicious, friendly, and a great selection of pies. A fun, funky place with good COVID safety measures in place. Try it, you will be treated well!

Yelp
Food is wonderful delicious and fresh. The service was great ambiance was very nice. Definitely must have lunch there again

Josh W.

Yelp
Great Key Lime and Chocolate truffle pie. The service was very quick and both employees we encountered were polite.

Dena L.

Yelp
Thank you for the wonderful Buttermilk Chocolate Pie that I was able to get for my daughter's birthday, she loved it and my mother is asking for one for her birthday. I can't wait to try some of the other pies.

Kimberlee S.

Yelp
One of the best pie shops we've been to and, believe me, we've been to many in our hunt for the best pie. We love that they offer a flight of pies (three small slices of your choice), which allowed the two of us to enjoy 6 different flavors. Leslie, the amazing owner, suggested we try 2 additional pies when she heard how serious we are about homemade pie. So glad she did. The Peach and Carolina Reaper Pie was a perfect balance of sweet heat. A vending machine outside the pie shop provides 24/7 access. We bought a slice from the vending machine just for fun. While each slice was delicious, our favorites are the tart and not-too-sweet Key Lime, silky Buttermilk, and unique Peach/Carolina Reaper. There are also savory options; we had the comforting Chicken Pot Pie with its perfectly flaky crust. It's worth the detour if your plans take you within 100 miles of Life of Pie!

Yelp
I was in Abilene for a day trip. I wanted to find a place with really good pie, and well, the reviews of this place were amazing, and I wanted to check it out. Briefly, this place was everything I thought it would be: Amazing! First of all, the place is small...cozy but spacious. They had my favorite tea's...Taylors of Harrogate...which was my first pleasant surprise. This is a gem of a tea, and if I was staying in town a bit longer, I would have enjoyed a cup of tea with my pie. Sadly, I had to take it to go, because I had a time commitment. Next, the staff was friendly. The board with the pie names was a delightful touch! It added charm to the place. Again, I was in a bit of a hurry, but they had it very tastefully decorated...cozy is the word I'd use...a place that just says "Relax...sit down...have some pie and a cup of tea." Literally, I felt my blood pressure drop a notch once I walked in! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I interacted with three people, and all three were friendly, warm, like seeing old friends! Now, the important part: The taste. I bought a full "The Washington" (Cherry Crumble" for my neighbor...I owed him a big one, and after he and his wife tried the pie, they asked "Where did you get this?" We live in Austin, so when I told him where, he said "Road Trip!". I assured him I am going up there next month, and he wants another. "Best Cherry Pie...Ever!" His words. My wife had the "Chocolate Heaven"...her words. Really, it was the Chocolate Buttermilk. Rich, creamy, deep chocolate...Devine! She especially loved the chocolate crust, because no one does that anymore, but the pie overall was a delight. She is looking forward to my next trip! Me, I had the Key Lime. It was the perfect mix of "Tart/Sweet" lime and a flaky crust that had to be handmade from scratch. The details reminded me too much of what my Grandmother made for me and my brothers when we visited...it brought back memories! All in all, this is some of the best pie I have ever tasted. I will be back for the pie!
google avatar

Yelp
OMG so good! Passing though Abilene and wanted pie! Quick search and jack pot! Lemon squeeze awesome, chocolate buttermilk is like warm brownie batter... lemon blueberry refreshing!
google avatar

Ray S.

Yelp
Wow. If I could put 10 stars on this place I would. This place is great. We come thru this town every so often. And now this is a must stop. My slice was the Lemon Blueberry. Wonderful. Just wonderful. I'll be back every time I'm in town

D N.

Yelp
We have had lunch and takeout. The food is always great. Pies sweet or savory always delicious. People are always friendly and helpful. We'll be back!
google avatar

Jane E T.

Yelp
My friend loves them. I personally can take a piece of pie or drive by not tempted. Appreciate they are local business in Abilene.
google avatar

Vernon J.

Yelp
The pie was good but it wasn't great. We had lemon cream pie, key lime pie, and apple pie. Pie is pie and therefore it was good, but it wasn't more worthy. I've had pies that were just as good or better out of a freezer at HEB. Their coffee was good and it was a cute place to go on a fun date. If you are a food critic I would stay away, but if you want some pie and to try new things check it out.
google avatar

Humphrey H.

Yelp
We came to town to visit some friends and ended up at the most fantastic and unique restaurant! You always find cupcake shops and bundt cake shops but you never find a pie shop. We had the sugar free coconut cream pie and the Apple pie Sunday and they were to die for. The owners are so personable and friendly. The store is decorated so Perfectly you would swear you were in their Home smelling them cook these delicious pies in their own little kitchen. Now I just need to get them to come open up a shop in Fort Worth and I will be so happy.

Judy S.

Yelp
This place has so much to offer on top of the pies. It is quaint, friendly, and gives you that cafe atmosphere. While visiting family stationed there, Life of Pie was recommended, and it sure didn't disappoint. We ordered three chicken pot lunch meals and a jalapeño quiche meal. The meal comes with a drink and a slice of their sweet pies. I don't usually eat chicken pot pie, but absolutely loved it. The crust and inside ingredients were prepared very well. Home sweet home delicious. The size of the pie is truly larger than I thought it would be, which is a good thing. We ordered different sweet pies with our meals and the coconut cream was the winner, but the other pies were very tasty too. This is definitely a go-to place!
google avatar

Leslie J.

Yelp
Top notch pies and staff! The Boutique is full of Texas small business products and the atmosphere is too cool! Check out this unique little spot!

Jessica P.

Yelp
This is hands down the best pie I have ever had! I flew in from New Jersey today to Dallas then drove the two hours with my brother just to come try it. Without a doubt it was worth the drive! The jalapeño popper quiche was fantastic. It was just a little spicy and full of delicious bacon pieces. What really got me hooked was the eclair pie. It had a light flaky crust with a decadent eclair filling that just melts in your mouth. I also made sure to take home a slice of chocolate buttermilk pie and a slice sopapilla pie which was hand delivered by the owners daughter, the adorable pie princess. Totally sweet and absolutely worth the trip!
google avatar

Amber D.

Yelp
Cute little Pie shop and boutique! They serve both traditional and unique flavors of pie.

Sam M.

Yelp
Love this spot! The couple running it are so sweet and helpful. Pies are great, they have both classic and unique flavors, the pirate is a keylime jalapeno pie that I will never forget. There pie flight is three mini slices of pie which is perfect if you want to try more than one or share. Over all, highly recommend!
google avatar

Autumn J.

Yelp
Love these pies, the atmosphere, and the awesome staff. Every pie I've tried has been the BEST! Strawberry rhubarb = heaven, sweet and a little tart. The key lime pie is one of the best key limes I've had & I've eaten many key lime pies IN key west. The chocolate buttermilk pie is like a gooey brownie in pie form. The lemon blueberry is amazing... blew me away. The jalapeño key lime pie is delicious and that heat gets ya! My husband has had the keto peanut butter & the keto chocolate and he couldn't believe they were that delicious without cheating the diet. Needless to say, my favorite shop in Abilene & I can't wait to try more pies!
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
This is a cute little spot. They have a sweet little shop in the entry that welcomes you into where the goodies are. AND they offer a military discount! You cannot go wrong with their pie crumbles. Every single one will have you scraping your plate for every last crumb! Simply delicious.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in for the first time tonight. My wife got a Key Lime pie. She took it home. She walked in my studio and said "this is one of the best key lime pies I've ever had!" She should know. She's had them all around the country. So she will be going back for sure. The owners were a very nice young couple who obviously love what they do. Stop by and give their pie a try!!!
google avatar

Outof T.

Yelp
Nope. I will not be coming back to this business. I will not go into full details, but I can tell you that they are more interested in talking than working. I came last week and had a horrid experience. Sad.
google avatar

Danielle K.

Yelp
The gluten free cannoli pie is delicious and I could eat it everyday. They make great tasting pie. Worth it.
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
I went to their pie after hours tonight, which is my first time at the shop. Let me just say that I am so glad that I did. Their advertised flavors seem odd, but who knew bacon, apples, and cream cheese were made for each other? The Life of Pie baker knew thankfully! I tried the Glutenfree All American (Apple, cream cheese, bacon), Pirate (key lime with jalapeño), Baron (custard with habanero honey), and coconut cream. Now, I am not a key lime pie person, but the Pirate was good. I wouldn't be upset if I had to eat it again as the jalapeños imparted enough flavor and spice to perfectly complement the lime. The Baron was spicy and creamy and delightful; I would get that one again. Both these do have peppers with a small kick but weren't spicy enough to kill off the tastebuds. Coconut Cream is one of my favorite pies so I was so happy to be able to try theirs. It did not disappoint, just the right amount of whipped cream, and toasted coconut flakes to complement the not overwhelmingly sweet coconut custard base. I know where to go for my pie fix. I very much look forward to trying their other flavors as quick as they invent them.

Jamie B.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough about this place. If you haven't been here, it's a must ASAP! The chicken pot pie is divine and the pies are all delicious! Friendly owners! Great place to be!

Melissa A.

Yelp
These pies are so good and so are the Sundays. Prices are a little high but it is worth it.

Joi H.

Yelp
I am only in town for a couple of weeks and decided I needed something really sweet. I looked on yelp and the "Life of Pie" came up. Since it was pretty close to base I decided to try it. What a good idea! I had a slice of the chocolate pie and it was absolutely delicious! It came warmed up and a nice big slice. I'm pretty sure I'll be back before I head out. They even have a lemon KETO pie!!! Yes believe it or not. Try it, you won't get disappointed.

Scott F.

Yelp
My wife had chocolate truffle and I had lemon chess. Both were excellent. My only complaint about this place is that there are too many interesting options--it's hard to choose! On the other hand, it's also hard to go wrong.

Lauren B.

Yelp
You like good pie? This is the place to get it. I've been going in for a while trying to catch the cinnamon roll pecan, but every time I try a new pie I fall in love with.

T L.

Yelp
I had hesitated to try this place because the photos seemed to reflect that they weren't quite ready for primetime. However, we did go try it and there are positives. First, the staff was super nice and friendly. Second, it was clean and well decorated. However, the pie is where they lost us. I personally do not think a gourmet pie shop should use premade pie crusts. Not that all of them are but many are. I also do not believe that a pie shop should be mixing together whip cream and fruit and selling it as pie. A pie shop should sell great pie. I mean great pie. The pies are thin and the ones that MAY have a homemade crust are undercooked and flavorless. I was quite excited to try the sweet potato crumble pie...it looked so good! But it was not sweet enough and was blan. This was the theme of all the pies we tried. The cherry pie crust was underdone and poorly made. The filling was too sour and was missing the sweet part of a good cherry pie. But again this pie is an example of the problem...this is a simple cherry pie! And it was not even good, at least to our table. I write this in hopes that the PIE SHOP gives its pies some pizzazz and flavor not to simply be mean. I would love to see a pie shop do well but these pies are embarrassing as of right now. When you advertise as a pie shop and have "pieologists" you really should be making great pie that is well executed and flavorful and something people come to as their "comfort food."
