Atlanta Restaurants: Poke Burri and Lifting Noodles Ramen Take Over the Global Grub Collective With We Suki Suki Becoming a Pop-Up Incubator | Eater Atlanta

"Also closing its Collective stall on December 31 to join Qommunity, Lifting Noodles Ramen will occupy a red kiosk facing Poke Burri in the back of the new incubator, share seating with weekly pop-ups and is a franchised concept that will be a permanent presence alongside rotating vendors." - Beth McKibben

First time and here and ordered the beef bowl and Korean Wings and this ramen is amazing?? The wings are fried to perfection!! Perfectly seasoned and crispy! Definitely coming back with hubby!!!

Shaniqua D.

Google
If you looking for a place new to try this is the spot. Me and family enjoyed everything. Seating is limited. But overall the staff was super friendly. Food looked and tasted great. We ordered beef Ramen. Korean fried chicken Dragon fruit lemonade. It's a must try.

James H.

Google
This food is freaking amazing! The staff is also very attentive and cool. The owner even comes in and helps out! The ingredients are fresh, the atmosphere feels very inviting for eating in. This is EASILY BY MILES the BEST ramen shop here in the charleston area! I will argue anyone down on that!

Noah L.

Google
The food was delicious! We shared a beef ramen bowl and each got thai iced tea. My family also loved the wings- they ate every single one. I'd like to take my friends here someday.

Marley H.

Google
Best Ramen joint in the low country. Great service, clean environment and good quality food!

Google
First time to try this restaurant and for appetizer we ordered the Crispy Fried Brussel Sprouts that's drizzled with sweet chili sauce which I really like. Then we ordered Miso Ramen, Chicken Ramen, and Spicy Tantan Ramen. The miso ramen was good, the chicken ramen was a bit salty but still good, and the spicy Tantan Ramen was good although it wasn't as spicy as I expected it to be. (I have high tolerance for spicy food.) Serving size was worth the price you paid for. For drinks, I ordered Thai Iced Tea which I also like. I'd definitely would come back to this place so I can try the other stuff on the menu specifically the ones under Poke Burri menu and also because the food was good and servers were nice.

Google
Cute spot. The parking for this place is paid only unless you are lucky to find a spot on the front street like we did. The service was great and the food was good. The ramen soup was a little bland but the pork belly was cooked to perfection. We tried a little bit of everything. I had the thai tea and it was 👌🏾. We will definitely eat here again.

Brian T.

Google
Had the spicy kimchi Ramen. Cannot recommend enough! Everything Ramen should be, a bouquet of savory flavors and aromas woven together in a portion size that leaves you loosening your belt. The marinated soft boiled egg was exquisite and the highlight of the dish. Owner and staff went out of their way to be friendly. Bathroom was spotless. 10/10.

Yelp
Food was great and fresh. The service was excellent. They were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was clean. Very convenient location and there was just enough parking.

Yelp
I was on the west side and needed a protein snack--not too heavy and not a full meal. So, I wandered into LNR for the second time. Now me, I appreciate consistency and LNR delivers. The service is excellent...friendly but not fake. Helpful but not hovering. The ambiance is on point as well--like a college hangout joint with the emphasis on the food, not the decor. Having said that, it is nicely appointed with a clean, fresh, modern decor and a comfortable setup. Now for the critical part...The nomnoms! I asked for a recommendation and ordered accordingly. What a treat! Nachos are thin, not greasy and light as a feather. The spicy tuna is, in fact, a little spicy! The avocado is a perfect addition for the cool down and the spring onions add precisely the correct amount of freshness. This is truly an inventive take on a plain old sushi roll that actually adds a different and much appreciated twist to an otherwise boring and obvious dish. If I HAD to offer a criticism, it's that the generous serving size was almost a lunch meal vs a snack, but for the $10 price point I promise I'm not complaining and neither should you. Well done and thank you!

Yelp
Oh do i love some Ramen, not the 10 cent pack from the grocery store but the elevated, rich broth and umami from a place like Lifting Noodles Ramen. I opted for the Tonkotsu black ramen. The pork bone broth was rich and thick but not like a soup, the black garlic oil brought the broth to a new level. The tonkotsu was perfectly tender, flavorful and pulled apart nicely with my spoon. My egg was over which disappointed but still mixed well adding additional richness to the flavor explosion in the broth. Bean sprouts, scallions, bamboo and mushrooms were also included into the bowl and each adding their own touch to the meal experience. The restaurant offers bar seating as well as a few tables to enjoy your meal. For those that are first timers be aware of the parking situation. The parking lot is pay to park, but you can your money back after scanning your receipt after your meal. Super easy process but we were not expecting that upon arriving in the parking lot.

Sarah M.

Yelp
Great food in a great location. Dining room is small, but clean My only real criticism is that some of the delicious, rich umami flavor expected in ramen of this price's broth seemed to be replaced with extra salt. Would love a less salty, more refined flavorful broth. Either way. will be back.

Yelp
I've eaten here many times and it's always good, but tonight it was good AND beautiful. The chef that curated this bowl deserves major props. Unpictured are the brussel sprouts because they were quickly devoured and delicious. Super friendly and quick service, highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is delicious. It has nice intimate seating and the workers there have always been nice. I make my own ramen bowl when I come. But the broth is delicious and flavorful. The noodles are cooked well. The mushrooms are on point. My only thing is that the eggs are super cold. I wish they were more room temp. But that's just been. 9 out 10

Yelp
We visited Lifting Noodles Ramen on a chilly (for SC) winter night, and we were impressed. Charleston doesn't have much to choose from for ramen, but this spot is a fast-casual restaurant and also serves poke (Poke Burri). You can build your own bowl or choose off the menu. I'm not a ramen connoisseur, so I left it up to the experts and ordered off the menu. I had the 1-UP Ramen, which is vegetarian, with egg noodles, while my husband had the Spicy Kimchi Ramen. He also got a small salad as an appetizer. I liked the texture of the noodles, as they were not overcooked. The tofu was fried perfectly and a good portion of everything for $15-16 per bowl. The restaurant itself is a little small, with lots of high-top tables and a bar, and limited ground-level seating. It's a tight but cozy spot, and we will be back.

Onika G.

Yelp
Great taste. Very nice people. Nice vibe. Would definitely recommend! Get the spicy Tan Tan.

Yelp
After reading some of the reviews and seeing the pics of their ramen on Yelp, I was psyched about trying this ramen bar...possibly the top rated ramen bar in Charleston (though honestly, this city isn't renowned for Asian foods). Well, the place itself is rather small...with maybe 6-7 tables? Still, for a ramen bar, it was fine...I mean, no problem with that, especially given how I got there super-early for lunch. Then a few issues. For one, this corn dog that I saw on Yelp was not being served (think the cashier said that they were sold out...at 11:30 am?). As usual with ramen, I get water (I find that it goes best with ramens). Here, they charged me 2 bucks for tap water...in a small, plastic cup. Just WOW (NOT in a good way). Unusually high sales tax too. I only ordered this one ramen bowl, but it costed over 20 bucks. Huh?!? A/C was kinda weak (on a hot day), and there wasn't any overhead music. Not a very festive vibe at all...though somehow I expected it?? Then the ramen. I got their popular Spicy Tan Tan ramen. First of all, unlike the pictures represented in Yelp, the ramen looked really sloppy...as in crude presentation. Some of the toppings were quite skimpy too. Thank God that the ramen itself tasted good. Luckily, this was the only thing that saved me from dropping 1 or 2 stars. SO...here were the negatives: I found that the place wasn't too fun/inviting (with poor A/C), the presentation of ramen was really bad (sloppy and lackluster!), and I found the pricing redundant (2 bucks for a small cup of tap water?!?). Luckily, the positive was that I liked the flavor of Tan Tan ramen. It was perfectly spicy, without being TOO intense. For the latter, I'll drop 3 stars. Not itching to run back too soon, but I MAY go back to try them one more time in the future. Given their good ratings, maybe I was there on an off day...a fluke experience??

Yelp
This place is great! Simple yet delicious. It doubles as the Poke Burri so don't get confused. I did... The people behind the counter are awesome. Everyone is really nice and accommodating. I had the Spicy Ramen and it was So good! It's an unpretentious, order-at-counter place, but don't let that fool you. Its food is sophisticated enough to satisfy.
google avatar

Chantay C.

Yelp
If you like poke bowls and ramen soup, you should absolutely try this awesome restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful with selecting the menu. I had the super poke bowl and the spicy tuna doughnut my daughter did the build your own bowl. We both loved our selections.
google avatar

Nathanael P.

Yelp
This is a ramen spot located in the Charleston area. They serve a variety of Ramen, poke, sushi burritos, and asian inspired appetizers. They even have a sushi donut. The ramen bowls have multiple selection of broth and can be customized with toppings. The menu items are very customizable to suit anyone's taste. I ordered the Tonkotsu black ramen, which was a tonkotsu pork broth with some black garlic. The toppings were delicious, the noodles were a bit chewier than i would like however. The ramen eggs were good, but the broth was saltier than i expected. The ramen was tasty overall, enough to satisfy a ramen craving. The cashier was helpful in explaining the different selections. There are small tables and a "bar" style counter, so it would be a good spot for friends and family. It was very clean inside. Great experience

Kaitlyn F.

Yelp
The ramen here is amazing! I really appreciate that they allow you to customize your own bowl as well.
google avatar

Katie F.

Yelp
This place was horrible, the only thing that was good were the fries. We tried two different ramens and both tasted like nasty dish water. Not authentic at all. Just a bunch of young teenagers running the place.

Wilson R.

Yelp
They were so nice and helpfull! Iv only been like twice but i have loved every second of it! definitely will come again!

Griff P.

Yelp
The food is amazing! The service is also remarkable and fast, and everyone is kind. The vibe is so fun, they play a lot of Pop music. Keep an eye out for the Guinness World Record on the wall, and I cannot recommend ordering from the secret menu enough!
google avatar

Xaque W.

Yelp
Delicious food! Got the kimchi ramen bowl, it had just the right balance of spice and flavor! Great service! It's pretty laid back atmosphere

Yelp
My family and I ate here the other night and it was a huge let down. I wanna start out with the positives though, the Brussel Sprouts and Street fries were awesome. The flavorings on each were great and I seriously want to try and copy that recipe for my next family get together. Now the cons. 3/4 of our ramens came out lukewarm or colder. The way it feels is that it's probably hot broth that has cold ingredients thrown in (like my hard boiled egg that was actually cold enough to be able to tell it just came out of the refrigerator). The one that was the coldest we asked and if they could reheat it and they instead said they wanted to remake it for us... they did which was awesome, but it still came out at just about lukewarm. The bamboo shoots tasted as if they had turned and we all removed them from our soups. The broth was not quite salty enough to our tastes either. I ordered a spicy broth and while, admittedly, my tolerance is quite high for spicy food... there was zero spice in mine. Lastly we asked for waters when we ordered but were never given any and had to ask again for some. We liked the feel of the place and had no problem finding parking nearby.... But I'm gonna be honest, I'm not sure if I'm gonna be returning again after this experience.

Yelp
Ive been yearning for a really good ramen place to come to Charleston ever since I moved here from living in the cold, snowy Midwest for 7 years -- which has amazing ramen places. I've been getting my ramen fixes from different popups and Asian restaurants around town (Fuji, Pink Bellies, Chasing Sage) but they usually don't have too many ingredients to choose from or let you make too many changes to how it already comes. I've tried Lifting Ramen twice (the second time I went, just to make sure I didn't like it). First of all I don't like ground meat in ramen. I think only cuts of braised meat that can provide flavor should be used. I didn't know it was going to come in my broth and I was pretty grossed out by it. Most importantly, I just didn't find the flavor of the broth to be all that robust which I think is the basis for any good ramen and even though I got it spicy, I could not taste any heat which was such a disappointment because a flavorful, spicy broth is absolutely yummy and makes my soul happy. With ramen, I also prefer larger cuts of veggies so that each bite of the soup is a full-on titillating experience of various flavors but the veggies here are cut up so small their flavor and texture is almost imperceptible when eating (onions and the black mushrooms for instance). I also would have preferred if there were more ingredients to choose from (nori, red onions, and cilantro would be nice). My friend who I went with is a foodie and found it lacking in flavor too. I actually left kinda hungry. :-/

maggie d.

Yelp
The best ramen I've ever had!! I built my own bowl and it turned out delicious. Will definitely be going back!
google avatar

Jen X.

Yelp
This place has decent poke, mainly because of the large servings sizes. However, the flavours weren't the best. There were small amounts of fish and a lot of rice. The ramen here was decent but still wayyy too salty and not hot enough temperature or spice wise. It's decent if you're desperate but definitely not close to the best I've had.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Delicious ramen, great staff and worth seeking out IMHO. CHS can be a challenge to find ramen done well and this is top of the class in many ways. Power move is beef ramen with a side of kimchi. Fuego.
google avatar

Junavy F.

Yelp
Bummed it took me so long to find this place! Lifting Noodles is located in the same building as Poke Burri in West Ashley. In an area where good Asian food is hard to come by, this place is where it's at! Portions were huge with an excellent proportion of noodles to broth. Cannot recommend this place enough for delicious, authentic ramen!
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Bought ramen soup (takeout)for my daughter, and it was horribly salty. It was so bad I called and asked for a refund (something I've never done). They were apologetic and nice. They said they refunded my money but I never saw the refund. I'm bummed because I wanted to like this place.
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Not sure which restaurant to leave my review because the building is the same for this restaurant and Poké Burri and we ordered off both menus. Delish ramen. My son chose the chicken bowl and ate until he was stuffed. I had the Brussel sprouts and items off the Poké Burri menu. All food was super flavorful. Can't wait to try more items!
google avatar

Sawan H.

Yelp
Matcha Lemonade. Make your own Ramen with Tofu. Kimchi Delicious. Broth was great. Really. Really. Good.
google avatar

Zachariah S.

Yelp
This place a really good. The food has traditional merged with some nuance of fusion. But overall good. The food we had was the traditional ramen and then the spicy. Both were really well done and very flavorful. Delicious. The noodles in the ramen (because it matters) we're also very good and were not soggy. The tuna nachos were good but I think the bowl as a serving dish made it difficult to eat, which meant a lot of the wonton chips were at the bottom with no tuna. But still good. The "corn dog" was great. Crunchy on the outside with soft goodness in the middle. The fried dumplings were also really good. For drinks we had the passion fruit lemonade. Very good with fresh passion fruit in it. The only real downside is the parking. It's right on a busy street but don't let deter you, just be prepared. Definitely a good place to eat.
google avatar

Karen O.

Yelp
Okay been here once to try the Poke Burri side and loved it so when I heard they were opening up a ramen side I knew I needed to come back. Came in today with my husband we both got the Tonkotsu "Black" Ramen both extra protein, we shared an order of dumplings and both got a water. If I have to rate the ramen over all from 1-10 I'd give it a solid 8.4 over all. I can't say anything negative about it I thought it was delicious. I think next time personally I'll see if I can get it spicy I love a nice kick. Over all will be back I want to work my way though the rest of the menus.
google avatar

Terinna C.

Yelp
I am so excited to hear that Charleston finally has its own ramen shop that's not just a temporary pop up thing! My husband ordered the black tonkatsu and I had the spicy tan tan ramen. The broth was good- I personally thought a little light on flavor and bit watered down? Hard to explain- like the flavors are there but they're not the strong bold ramen broth flavors I'm used to liking. So this is definitely a personal preference. I also thought their noodles were a bit over cooked- like they were kind of too soft and almost soggy? So this is why they got a four star- and it could be just today, when I went- so I'll update when I go back a second time. I also didn't immediately see the option to add extra toppings or Cha-shu to my ramen bowl like I'm used to. But I'll ask the next time I'm there to see if those are options. However the toppings and the overall satisfaction is still a delicious bowl of noodles and I could not be happier!
google avatar

Richie A.

Yelp
Very good ramen, the only thing I would have like to seen better was the beef to be hot as it arrived cold

Trina N.

Yelp
My spouse and I stopped this afternoon and had the spicy miso and "black" ramen. The smell hits you as you walk in the door. We had a tough time deciding and both were delicious. Flavorful broth and lots of vegetables. The service was friendly and fast. The folks behind the counter are efficient. The place is small but perfect for a quick lunch. Although we didn't have any, they serve beer. Worth the stop.
google avatar

Brent S.

Yelp
This is more like a 3.5 stars. Very good, and I was very pleased with my meal. Wasn't terrific, but it was very good. You can tell it's a chain and it's definitely not anywhere near authentic. But don't take any of this in a negative way! The ramen ingredients were delicious. The pork belly was juicy and flavorful. The noodles has a good texture. All of the ads ons were well executed! The pork based broth was lacking a little. Almost like it wasn't cooked down enough with bones and such as a good broth should be. I like my ramen broth more pungent if you know what I mean. The "sushi corn dog" was pretty dope. Most likely a returning customer :)
google avatar

Alexandria N.

Yelp
I am so excited we now have a ramen shop nearby! I got the tonkotsu ramen and I thought it was really good. Fair price point, perfect portion size and really flavorful broth. The noodles were cooked well and came with a good amount of toppings like pork and egg. Our table also got the Tokyo fries and the Brussels sprouts to share, both of which were also great appetizers. Seating is a little tricky since it's a small space with limited tables. It's also always busy, but that's a good sign to me!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
The ramen is very good. Don't like the parking situation, but in the end it is free. The Ramen was hot and the noodles were perfect. Recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped by Lifting Noodles on an overcast rainy day. I obviously had to go with ramen. The bowl looked very appetizing. So appetizing that I posted a picture to my Instagram story. The broth lacked flavor but everything else in the soup was packed with it, so the bowl still ended up being tasty with a small kick of spice. The service was quick, but I do wish it was more of a sit down than counter. The staff was nice and our bowls were brought to us. Will definitely stop by again when nursing a hangover or craving ramen.
google avatar

Alexis S.

Yelp
This is our 2nd visit and we really like this place, especially after a chilly surf session or on a cold rainy day. We've tried a good amount of ramen places and this is probably the best one for the price you pay! Maybe one day I'll try their burrito bowls, but I just love ramen too much lol. The broth in all of the soups is creamy with good flavor, probably one of the best ones around here without paying a ton of money. You can make any soup spicy on their 1 to 10 scale, which is nice. I tried the 5 spice level and to me it didn't really do much, so next time I will try a 7. The option to build your own is really clutch if you don't like what comes in most of their soups, or you just want to make your own creation. The chicken and pork are good quality, not like the weird, rubbery stuff some restaurants use to save a buck. Speaking of pork, their pork dumplings are DELISH! They have the perfect crunch that gives you a satisfying feeling each time you bite into it. Pretty sure I'd be able to actually finish my soup if it weren't for the dumplings, but I have to have them! It looks like this place will be one of our spots to eat at during the colder months!

Lizzie M.

Yelp
The owner and food are both amazing! Got take out today for me and my boyfriend. We both have the flu so it was just what we needed. Both got tonkatsu ramen and the pork belly and marinated egg were cooked perfectly! The broth was yummy and silky and rich. The price is amazing especially for Charleston. We'll def be back.
google avatar

Shantequa M.

Yelp
The ramen was absolutely delicious! The broth base was rich and flavorful. My husband had the dumplings and enjoyed them. The Thai chili sauce on the Brussel sprouts were amazing but the char was a bit hard to get past! Overall I would definitely go back again!
google avatar

Marylyn W.

Yelp
I picked my own ramen selection. This was so yummy. I will come back and pick another flavor, I had miso this time. Plus I have extra sauce I can eat later with whatever I want
google avatar

Jasmine K.

Yelp
The dragon fruit & strawberry lemonade was great. Now the ramen was amazing. We had the spicy seafood & black ramen. It was delicious, full of flavor, packed with ingredients, and just good. I definitely was not expecting such flavor. We will be returning to try additional dishes. #kingapproved
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
Was excited to try this new spot and it didn't disappoint! The spicy ramen had great flavor and wasn't too spicy. Other half got chicken ramen and said it was good but kind of bland so I would highly recommend getting spicy. The dragonfruit lemonade is one of the best drinks I've had. We will be back
google avatar

Mihael H.

Yelp
Very solid ramen. Good noodles, good broth, fresh fixings. Worth the 25 minute drive to get there.

Yelp
I've been so excited to try this place and it's amazing! It's a convenient fast casual restaurant inside the Victory building in West Ashley. You can either order from Poke Burri or Lifting Noodles Ramen at the same counter. We went for ramen all the way! Our starter was the addictive crispy fried Brussels sprouts and I shared them with my husband. They were so good that I ended up with more than my fair share - LOL! My ramen dish was the spicy Tan Tan with pork broth, pork belly, seasoned ground pork, noodles, sweet corn, black mushrooms, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, sesame seeds, scallions, and marinated soft-boiled egg. I asked for the spice to be adjusted to less than medium and they got it exactly right! At first, I thought I'd have leftovers since this is a very generous bowl, but once I started eating it, I couldn't stop. It's so tasty! My husband got the Tonkotsu "black" ramen with similar ingredients except instead of spice, there's black garlic sesame oil. Delicious with layers and layers of flavor. We ate every drop! This is a small space but has counter seats where you can watch the chefs in action, and there are also some tables inside and out front. I had matcha lemonade to drink and it was a a nice combination of flavors. We definitely will be back often to try more dishes! I also want to try Poke Burri. The staff were efficient and friendly. I recommend finding free street parking if you can - the pay parking lot nearby was a bit pricier than most. This is not the fault of the restaurant. I highly recommend eating here!

Tyler V.

Yelp
This place is amazing! The ramen is great and the Tokyo fries are incredible. The staff is really friendly and truly cares about about the customers. 10/10 recommend
google avatar

Yelp
This place was horrible, the only thing that was good were the fries. We tried two different ramens and both tasted like nasty dish water. Not authentic at all. Just a bunch of young teenagers running the place.

Yelp
All I have to say is FINALLY!! We finally have a respectable bowl of ramen in Charleston. I got the spicy tan tan ramen, the Brussels and the sushi corn dog and every bite was delicious!!
google avatar

Hector R.

Yelp
Love their ramen! Their poke bowls are the most generous I have seen as well. You can't go wrong here
google avatar

Mara F.

Yelp
Ate here recently. We were craving ramen and don't have many ramen places back home, so thought why not based on the reviews. I would say it was mediocre, nothing special. I wouldn't go back for it. Flavor was decent but just meh overall. I have had better

Jacob S.

Yelp
First time here amazing ramen very good broth and the kimchi was to die for! Highly recommend!
