the pork cheese katsu sandwich was kind of disappointing, but everything else was yummy. the waffle fries was fried EXTREMELY crispy and were hot and lightly seasoned. the sandwich took quite a long time to come out (even though everyone else’s dishes came out wayyy before???) and i found that it wasn’t as hot and juicy as i’d expected. the toast was thin and toasted crisply — as opposed to the thick fluffy ones at ohiru, which i prefer — it felt a little bit “cheap”. the katsu had a crispy breading, but otherwise it wasn’t very warm or flavourful. there was lots of crunchy tangy cold cabbage and refreshing tomato, and i’d say most of the flavourful came from the thick, melted cheese. it probably could’ve used more sauce. the sandwiches are not as large as they look in the photos as well.
compared to the sandwich, i found the lobster croissant much better. the lobster filling was cold, tender, juicy, and fragrant, with a strong lemon-dill taste. the croissant was really soft, buttery, and perfectly flaky.
the mini ube pancakes were a nice treat, but they also weren’t anything crazy good. they were warm, thick, dense, and didn’t have a strong ube flavour? the whipped cream on the side had a sweeter, subtle yammy taste though, and the ice cream on the side was stretchy and cold and sweet.
