the pork cheese katsu sandwich was kind of disappointing, but everything else was yummy. the waffle fries was fried EXTREMELY crispy and were hot and lightly seasoned. the sandwich took quite a long time to come out (even though everyone else’s dishes came out wayyy before???) and i found that it wasn’t as hot and juicy as i’d expected. the toast was thin and toasted crisply — as opposed to the thick fluffy ones at ohiru, which i prefer — it felt a little bit “cheap”. the katsu had a crispy breading, but otherwise it wasn’t very warm or flavourful. there was lots of crunchy tangy cold cabbage and refreshing tomato, and i’d say most of the flavourful came from the thick, melted cheese. it probably could’ve used more sauce. the sandwiches are not as large as they look in the photos as well. compared to the sandwich, i found the lobster croissant much better. the lobster filling was cold, tender, juicy, and fragrant, with a strong lemon-dill taste. the croissant was really soft, buttery, and perfectly flaky. the mini ube pancakes were a nice treat, but they also weren’t anything crazy good. they were warm, thick, dense, and didn’t have a strong ube flavour? the whipped cream on the side had a sweeter, subtle yammy taste though, and the ice cream on the side was stretchy and cold and sweet.

We were really excited to try Light Café because the portions looks huge and seems delicious. We ordered mushrooms stuffed croissants with potato croquettes. We came on the weekend for brunch and waited in line for about 20 minutes, which is understandable. Inside, the smell was a bit off—kind of like old oil, probably from the fried foods in the kitchen, as they seem to do a lot of fried dishes. We tried a stuffed croissant with mushrooms and potatoes. The filling was honestly delicious—soft, smooth, and fresh—but I was expecting a bit more overall. One downside is that the washroom was dirty, unfortunately.

Google
The brunch portions are huge, and I like that you can pick your own sides. Overall, everything tasted pretty good. The eggs Benedict were just okay, but I thought the scrambled eggs were better. I really loved their mini pancakes.

Google
Visited Light Cafe around noon and was pleasantly surprised by the short wait time — got seated about 20-30 minutes after adding my name to the list. The wait was definitely worth it. The café has a really cute and cozy ambience inside, perfect for a casual brunch or catching up with friends. As for the food, it was great — fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. Overall, a lovely spot with good vibes and even better food. Would happily return

I had a great breakfast experience at Light Cafe, which offers a wide range of morning favourites with fast service and a comfortable setting. I started with the chicken sandwich meal, which came with waffle fries. The sandwich was crispy, juicy, and flavourful, and the fries were hot and perfectly seasoned. I paired it with a frozen tropical slush drink, topped with an orange and strawberry garnish, refreshing and a great complement to the meal. I also ordered a second breakfast plate that included a tuna croissant, bacon and scrambled eggs, mini pancakes, salad, and tater tots. Everything was fresh and satisfying. The croissant was buttery and filled generously, the eggs were fluffy, and the mini pancakes brought a touch of sweetness. The tater tots were golden and crisp, just how they should be. Service was quick, with a short wait time, and there was plenty of seating, which made the overall experience smooth and relaxed. If you're after a place with solid breakfast options, quick service, and a chill atmosphere, Light Cafe is a great pick. 10/10 would recommend :)

Google
Great food, never disappoints everytime I come here. Service is great too! We got their brunch platter, mushroom croissant and chicken salad croissant. The mini pancakes were soft and warm and the croissants are nice and flakey. Highly recommend!

Google
Cute cafe for brunch! I like how you get a little bit of everything on one plate. Sandwiches are good too but I don’t recommend the sweet potato fries since some of the thicker pieces were undercooked. Better to stick with tater tots or waffle fries.

Google
I got 3 items but I'm pretty sure the main brunch would have filled me up alone. Uji Matcha Au Lait Cold Soy Milk: Not gonna lie was good nothing special but was good overall. Crispy Tori Karage Spicy mayo: Was tender and crunchy and I'd get it again. Kimchi Sukiyaki Beef Scramble Egg Bacon & sausage Spicy kimchi waffle fries: The scrambled eggs was fluffy and just tastes amazing. When I come back I'll prob always get scrambled eggs. The mini pancakes were also fluffy and good. Overall you should come try this place once for sure. I'll come back when I'm in Toronto again

Yelp
Chill little spot with a clean, bright vibe. Plants, natural light, and just enough buzz to feel alive without being loud. I had the chicken brunch box : buttery croissant with seasoned chicken and fresh greens. Waffle fries were crispy with that perfect golden bite, salad was light but flavorful with their house dressing, and the mini pancakes? Soft, fluffy, just sweet enough. Everything tasted intentional. Nothing bland, nothing overdone. Just real good balance and flavour. Rating: 4 out of 5

Yelp
Its been a while since I've been to Light Cafe. This time around I got the Pulled Pork brunch plate. I got it with waffle fries, scrambled eggs, side salad and mini pancakes. I'd say the sides were pretty solid, the flavour was there and it was satisfying to eat but maybe a bit expensive for what it was. The main was pulled pork in a croissant. The pulled pork had a bit of an aftertaste so that was the only thing i didn't finish on my plate which was a bit disappointing. Overall I'd still say that this is a good restaurant to try once in a while but maybe not for long since there are a few asian brunch spots popping up lately.

Yelp
Love this place for brunch! If I'm in the Spadina/Kensington area, this one is my go-to. While it is a bit more pricey ($20-$35+), I love how many different foods you get in one dish and the portions are large. For someone who loves a little bit of everything, I'm always in heaven. My go-to is the chicken salad croissant which comes with 2 eggs you way, a fulsome salad, sausage, bacon, mini pancakes, and TATER TOTS (or other amazing options such as waffle fries). Their coffee is also solid, and I just tried their uji matcha latte the other day, and while I'm not a super expert at matcha, I really enjoyed the drink. For ambiance, the decor is nice, but it's always busy so while it could be good for a daytime date, it's always bustling and not the most intimate. I always leave here satisfied and happy. Try to go a little bit before or after peak times (lunch, dinner, etc.) as it gets packed quickly and there's almost always a line but it goes by quickly.

Yelp
This cafe is cozy and I love their open kitchen. They have Asian twist on brunch, croissant, pasta and sandwiches. I ordered smoked salmon croissant with fried sweet potato. The sweet potato, crunchy outside and soft inside - Perfect! Their food was delicious! I was there on sat around 1230, and there's a line and we waited for around 20mins to be seated. Service is amazing, food came out quickly. They provide a good variety of food and I will definitely come and try the others food!

Yelp
Cute little spot on Baldwin Street and I finally had the chance to go. I had the scrambled egg avocado croissant and it was so good! The staff were very helpful and I will definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu .

Yelp
It has been a while since we came to Light Cafe - it's a Taiwanese inspired brunch cafe; with a great selection of brunch plates, sandwiches, croissants and fruit teas. The brunch plates come with mini pancakes, giving a great sweet and savoury combination plate. The cafe wasn't as busy today as we recall during weekends - but that just means there was no need to wait for a table.

Yelp
I was waiting for my laptop to be fixed and decided to take myself out for brunch! Light cafe, I walked past it a few times trying to fix it because the sign is kind of obscure. I almost gave up! Glad I didn't. I was the only patron when I entered. They are know for their elaborate takeout boxes, there were endless orders just waiting to be picked up. I was quickly seat and gave a menu. The decor and ambience of the place is nice! I sat near the windows, it's a really nice cafe that serves breakfast and lunch items and attracts the university crowd. The cappuccino came first and was perfect. It was a traditional cappuccino made with more foam than milk which I loved and the little biscoff cookie is a sweet indulgence treat! For breakfast I ordered the 25 mini pancakes with cake with salad, your choice of side and choice of fries. I opted for sausage and bacon and the waffle fries. I read someone say the waffle fries were next level...and they were right! Also includes choice of eggs which I opted for no eggs! It is a lot of food! A lot of yummy food. The mini pancakes...well first they are super cute but it's just the perfect morsel of pillowy yumminess. The mini pancakes were fluffy and delicious, even without syrup the pancakes were delicious! The sausage and bacon is the perfect saltiness you want to balance the sweet. But, besides the pancakes. The real start were the waffle fries. They were crispy perfection! Not crispy to the point it was hard it was crispy, the potato inside was light and airy. It was just perfect. I would honestly just come back for the waffle fries but all the food here is amazing!! As I was there the place started to fill up and looking at the amazing sandwiches other patrons got...I know I have to return and try something else. Come hungry, leave satisfied!

Yelp
Great spot for brunch with good food. They have many variations of brunch plates, sandwiches, dessert and drinks on their menu. The service was a little slow but you're able to place the order in person through their QR code placed on the table. The restaurant itself is spacious and bright. Overall, it's a good brunch spot in the city.

Yelp
I met up with a friend for brunch and got the smoked salmon with scrambled eggs. It was a great combination with everything I needed, a bit of pancake, a bit of potato, croissant, salad, and the typical proteins. Everything was delicious and perfectly seasoned. The portion was big enough for me to split into 2 meals and the ambience inside was minimal and aesthetic.
google avatar

Natalie Z.

Yelp
One of my favourite places to meet with friends, the food and lattes are always delicious! Any of the pancakes are always a must. They also have super cute breakfast boxes you can get for takeout. Friendly atmosphere and friendly staff.

Yelp
This is a brunch place with a nice ambiance. The food is very "instagrammable". I tried the dill pickle karaage sandwich - it was very fresh and the chicken was cooked well and juicy. The brunch plates seem to be a lot more popular and from what I saw, the portions are generous and there is a good variety of food on the plate. This place can get busy on the weekend! There is a sheet where you can put your name on the waitlist and someone will call you when your table is ready. You can also order via a QR code on your table.

Yelp
The Swiss Roll & Chiffon Uji Matcha Roll combo stole the show, but the Classic Buttermilk Mini Pancakes took it to the next level--25 mini pancakes loaded with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, vanilla ice cream, and maple syrup. The Light Cafe Breakfast Sandwich was a breakfast dream come true. Hash browns, breakfast sausages, fried egg, tomato, lettuce, red cabbage, cheddar cheese, mayo, ketchup, all sandwiched between perfectly toasted bread. Choose between a side salad or waffle fries--both equally tasty!

Yelp
Great cafe/brunch spot with delicious and filling food!! I got the roasted mushroom croissant for brunch. It came with eggs, vegetables, tater tots, and mini pancakes. It was a lot of food- I left feeling so full and satisfied! The mushroom croissant was delish. We came when it was bad weather, so it was not too busy and we were seated immediately. However, I can imagine that this place gets busy depending on the time. The inside was clean and nice. I would definitely recommend to others!
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely one of the best brunch places I've been to. The portions are MASSIVE in contrast to the price.
google avatar

Yelp
This Taiwanese fusion cafe offers a large selection of brunch items, gourmet sandwiches and sweet treats! I ordered a latte and the garlic dill karaage sandwich with waffle fries which were both delicious! The aesthetic inside was very cute and they also have a beautiful greenery wall, great for taking pictures. This place is always packed so I would recommend coming when they first open or after lunch. We waited about 30 minutes to get a table.

Yelp
Tucked in Baldwin St, where lies many other East Asian gems , Light Cafe is a perfect café to catch up with friends or study all while enjoying innovative Japanese inspired drinks and meal sets. The decor and food plating makes everything so aesthetic - which makes it such an Instagrammable spot. I highly encourage getting their drinks- they do not skimp on the actual drink when it comes to ice Highly recommend their cute pancake balls - it tastes great too

Yelp
Food is always good! I always get the pulled pork brunch, crispy tori karaage, and an in iced matcha latte. The service is good, the waitresses are nice and helpful. The ambience is good and is mostly filled with young adults. It can get full sometimes, especially on weekends. They don't do reservations, so make sure to come early and get your name done in the waitlist!
google avatar

Yoland E.

Yelp
This is a pretty good brunch spot with reasonable prices and good quality food! The servers were nice and efficient as well. The garlic dill karaage sandwich and truffle fries was pretty good (though the portion of fries was a bit too low in my opinion). The ube pancakes were cute and had a mild ube flavour.
google avatar

Yelp
This was truly the most wonderful brunch I've ever had! I am not a brunch person and my stomach in the morning is usually small. But I was hungry, I had seen this place on tiktok and had to try it! The croissant with beef and kimchi is unheard of and it was absolutely amazing! The mini pancakes with fruit offered a great sweet break between bites. The eggs, salad, veggies, and fries added to the overall balance of the meal. After eating all of this, I felt healed. The ambiance was chill and inviting. The service was great although the food wait time was long, but for me it was worth the wait! I will be back and I will be bringing everyone I know!

Yelp
It's trendy & light brunch at Light Cafe. Light Cafe offers Asian brunch fusion among diverse shops on Baldwin St. They're known for Cotton Candy Coffee: a sugary treat doused by black java, mixed with bottled milk. This time at Light Cafe, I tried the Lobster brunch plate comprising of: mini pancakes, egg benedict, waffle fries, house salad, bacon & sausage and lobster roll in croissant form with shrimp & celery. Tasty. They also offer an interesting mix of other freshly-prepped brunch dishes, pastas, waffles & desserts. Enjoy with calm cafe vibes.
google avatar

Lel W.

Yelp
It feels like a homestyle cafe with an open kitchen. I'd suggest a better ventilation system because I was sitting indoor and my clothes and hair stank after I left. I knew they're famous for brunches and waffles. But I wasn't too hungry on the day I visited, so I ordered truffle mushroom & bacon pasta. It's very home-style and the sauce was, perhaps, a bit too thin to my liking. I'll come back for the famous brunch and waffles~
google avatar

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend went to this place because we heard it was good and it was! I got the BLT and it was packed with bacon, if you're a bacon lover I definitely recommend! My girlfriend got the garlic dill chicken sandwich, and the chicken was big. The service was very good, they communicate well, and the vibe in there is super chill, and it's a nice little space. Perfect little lunch date.

Yelp
This place is worth the splurge. I'm the kind of person that thinks $40 for brunch with no alcohol is a splurge, and this place is worth it. I came here on Easter Sunday for brunch with my bestie. Shockingly, we didn't have any issues getting seated. Although the dining room got a bit noisy at times, it was a great place to relax and catch up with friends. Ordering here is simple, efficient, and introvert-friendly - just scan a QR code and order using your phone. It took us forever because we were busy chatting and also there were just so many incredible options on the menu. I'm honestly convinced that I wouldn't have gone wrong with anything on the menu. But I went with the dine in only smoked salmon brunch, which came with two eggs cooked your way (mine was eggs Benedict), a croissant, potatoes your way (I went with tater tots), veggies (roast cauliflower and sweet potato) or meats, a salad, a croissant, and mini pancakes. Basically, anything you can wish for at brunch. The mini pancakes were not only adorable but also fluffy and delicious. I also sprang for a brulee latte, which came with a tea biscuit. Everything was delicious. Despite how much food I got, I finished it all, and I didn't feel heavy. I kind of felt bad for tying up the table for close to three hours, but time just flies when you're having fun. I will definitely be back, this place just makes me so happy!
google avatar

Maggie G.

Yelp
Having mixed feelings about this one, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our lunch we ordered on UberEats. But as I was packing the rest of the tater tots I found pieces of dirt/fur stuck on one of the tots.. What we got: Kaarage sando with waffle fries 8/10 Smoked salmon box with tots 7.5/10 (before finding the dirty food) Hard to enjoy something when you question if your order was even clean in the first place..

Yelp
Good brunch. Went here before I moved to the city. Relaxing environment. Waitresses took quite some time to serve and allow us to pay. Overall good experience.

Yelp
I love Light Cafe and it's a really cute cafe to eat at, with tons of savory and sweet options! I tried out their famous brunch box during lock down and it's such a nice pick me up Presentation is beautiful. It comes with your choice of croissant sandwich, eggs prepared to your preference, a salad, sausage/bacon, fries, and a portion of mini pancakes. I love how you basically get a multi-course meal in one box! Personally I got the kimchi sukiyaki croissant sandwich, eggs benedict, and waffle fries. The croissant sandwich was a bit soft by time of delivery but nothing that a bit of time in the oven can't fix. The eggs benedict is a bit runny and the hollandaise sauce could be a bit stronger but it's still pretty good. Love the waffle fries, I've tried the parmesan waffle fries before too but the flavour is pretty subtle (I recommend eating them on their own to fully appreciate the flavour). Also got the lobster roll and truffle mushroom pasta which were fragrant and fulfilling as well The bacon/pork really compliments the more bland creamy pasta sauce. It was on the heavier side so I recommend getting a light refreshing drink with it (e.g. iced tea)
google avatar

Johnny W.

Yelp
The food was incredibly visually pleasing and the lobster roll had a generous service of lobster salad; I can see why the lobster roll is the most popular! The organization of the bento is incredibly colorful and the many components are delicious! It comes with mini pancakes, a salad, a piece of sausage and a piece of bacon, fries of your choice, eggs of your choice, and whichever main dish you'd like; I'd definitely recommend the lobster roll! Downside is that you are not allowed to eat outside of the restaurant at their outdoor seating, which means you will have to find some place to eat it. However, if you do not eat the food quick, it can get cold and soggy, so please be mindful of that. It is definitely a very interesting and pretty experience to try, so definitely give it a shot! Both of our bento combined cost a total of 50 bucks approximately. Thank you for reading and good luck! (:

Yelp
I think I got the wrong thing beee, because my dad's sandwich was incredible. I got the duck breast salad and let me tell you, 3 very small pieces of duck is not it. The flavour was good but it was simply not filling. The matcha was fantastic and like I said, the other sandwich was good enough for 4 stars.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Light Cafe. The food is good and the mango smoothie was HUGE! This place is great for a date spot
google avatar

Xyla R.

Yelp
Ordered a brunch box -- portion is very generous (almost good for two pa ). I got the smoked salmon with croissants and tater tots and I loved it! Though, ube pancakes tasted regular pancakes (could maybe use more ube) PS. Customer service is great too. They mistakenly gave me a wrong brunch box initially and they called me right away to correct it by giving my actual order, without having to return the other order (we also opened it already lol)

Jefferson B.

Yelp
This is my fav brunch in Toronto and everytime i go back to back to Toronto and this is my 3rd times now!
google avatar

Marina L.

Yelp
So delicious. I've seen my friends share stories of these brunch boxes and I knew I had to try. We ordered ahead in the morning and then drove down to Toronto to pick them up. They were on the pricier side but I would say it was worth it. When you order, you're given many options to choose from to make your box - eggs, sides, etc. I absolutely loved the mini pancakes! So cute and perfectly round - very soft and fun to eat. The pulled pork and smoked salmon was also delicious. Overall, everything was so well made - I would definitely recommend trying it!
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
This lobster roll with a side of waffle fries wasn't something I had planned to have for brunch! They are a Taiwanese-inspired cafe with creative fusion items and their portions are huge! Also recommend their Lobster Croissant brunch which came with eggs, salad, fries, AND mini pancakes on the side. The staff are really nice and the interior is cute.
google avatar

Antonio M.

Yelp
The food was great! It's a cute little restaurant that tries to lean into brunch. Out of our three dishes (kagare, scrambled egg avo croissant, Maine lobster roll) the croissant was the best dispite the bruised avo pictured. I personally didn't care for the lobster roll. The staff is very kind and the food came out quick.
google avatar

Yelp
I found this place through Tik Tok, advertising their brunch boxes. I wanted to browse their brunch choices but their cakes caught my attention more! I ordered 2 of their cakes online, a custom letter/number cake and an Earl Grey Chiffon Cake. For their letter/number cake, you submit an order form online and they e-mail you back to confirm your order. I received a response in a timely manner. The person I was e-mailing with was very accommodating with my requests. I added on the Earl Grey Chiffon Roll Cake through our e-mail conversation and the overall process was very smooth. Both cakes were light and not too sweet (I requested for them to be less sweet). They are pretty pricey for the size you get, but the presentation makes it worth it! *FYI the number I requested was difficult to make out since the size of the number was small* I will be back to try their brunch box!!
google avatar

Natasha L.

Yelp
Light box Café was the cutest takeout I have ever ordered in my life it was enough for two to share but if your hungry one box can easily be eaten by one. Their service was great and you got exactly what you asked for the food quality was very high and I was impressed! I can't wait to order more boxes! They have a variety of different boxes as well! There is seating available inside the café as well as take out
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
This review and rating is specifically for Light Cafe's takeout. I ordered their lobster croissant brunch box as well as Taiwanese chicken wings for a picnic. The brunch box was cute and came with a lot of food - a lobster croissant, eggs (made your way), fries (made your way), mini pancakes with fruit, and salad. Everything tasted delicious. The chicken wings were really flavourful - almost too salty and my tolerance is pretty high. The only downside is that they are pretty busy on the weekend pumping out so many of these brunch boxes while serving the dine-in customers so if you didn't preorder in advance (which I didn't do) expect to line up to order then wait another 40-60 minutes for the food to be ready.

Yelp
The service at Light Cafe was a bit different. In order to get a brunch box you have to order it online and you're not allowed to sit in the restaurant if you ordered a brunch box. I had to order the box 2-3 days in advance and schedule a pick-up time, due to how busy the restaurant supposedly is. When I got there, there was no line and barely anyone sitting inside. The food was a little bit cold and soggy. The mini pancakes were nice and fluffy, the sauce for the waffle fries was great. the salad on the side was different, but a pallet cleanser, and the eggs tasted like plastic. I would go again but would probably wait in their nonexistent line instead of ordering again. FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM: 416tasty

Yelp
Wait wasn't long because we were ok to sit outside. But if you're not in a rush, I'd recommend indoors because it was annoying with bees/wasps hovering. Bonus points for having umbrellas and hand sanitizers available for each patio table. There was a breeze despite of the 30℃ blazing hot weather. There are 2 individual communal washrooms. It was clean with paper towel available. Next to it, however, was a freezer with boxes of frozen French fries stacked on top, unopened... It was a bit concerning as it was a pretty hot/humid day, and hopefully that was taken care of properly. Service was slow and maybe kitchen was slow. There were a couple of food courriers waiting to pick up their orders, and were still waiting when I my meal was served. The Maine lobster roll brunch was bomb and very filling!! The presentation was amazing and made the dining experience worthy for another visit in the future. Make sure to check-in and show the coupon for a free coffee!! I had an iced latte for free with no extra cost (cold drinks are a dollar more).

Yelp
This place is ranked my top favourite breakfast, lunch, brunch spot! The location is central but I almost walked past the building. I'm highly particular with my reviews and for this one I only have one minor piece of feedback to give. Pros: location, taste, flavour, preparation, garnish, visuals, EVERYTHING was out of this world delicious! 5/5 is underrated to say the least. The employees worked together but also had their own tasks within the kitchen, the environment was friendly, personal, and euphoric. The employees seemed genuinely happy to be there! Con: Drinks came out at the same time as the food but water was given prior. They may be busy BECAUSE THEYRE SO POPULAR AND GOODDD!

Yelp
Covid delivery review! Taste and delivery: 4/5 Everything was delicious. First time trying lobster for brunch, it was the main course and the best part. The creamy taste was very unique for a croissant. Wish the food was hotter. The place is located about less than 20mins away from me so I was expecting the food to be really hot. Somehow it was just warm. This is in comparison to deliveries I have gotten over an hour away where the food was still steaming hot. Value: 3/5 The brunch box itself is quite small. I was still very hungry after finishing it. For brunch you would expect a bigger meal but for me specifically it wasn't enough. It's also quite pricey for the amount of food you get.

Yelp
I cannot get over how amazing their brunch box is. It was extremely delicious and the perfect thing one can ask for. We got the smoke salmon with sausage bacon and tater tots and mini pancakes, a small salad and poached eggs in hollandaise which wasn't really eggs benny but it was decent. It was just perfect. Loved the way everything was portioned and had small containers for everything you need. Perfection! I was disappointed with the ube pancake because i was so hyped for this. It tasted like regular pancakes. It came with a side of ice cream, ube cream and nutella. However I would say keep it original and remove the nutella and add more ube cream. The ice cream was a perfect touch. The service was phenomenal, so they messed with one of the items in our order which was the smoked salmon and gave us something else accidentally, as it was a take out they immediately called us back and apologized and made us a new box. Most other restaurants would have waited for the customer to complain but they rectified their mistake. As we works close by we're definitely going to be regulars here!

Yelp
Very busy brunch place located on Baldwin Street. Finally got to try this place after seeing multiple instagram posts about it. The line up was about 30minutes, so we walked around the area. We ordered the creme brule latte ( which was ok, just tasted like a regular latte in my opinion). Ordered the popular mini buttermilk pancakes/ eggs/ salad/lobster roll/ sausage and waffle fries. Lobster roll is not your typical lobster roll, tastes more artificial. This particular dish is good if you enjoy lots of carbs. Aside from that ordered the Sukiyaki Beef pasta, and they forgot the beef lol. I thought it was minced at first, but I realized it was just pasta and a poached egg. lol They made a new one, and let us keep the original pasta that was brought out. Nothing special about this dish... imagine spaghetti pasta with soya sauce, poached eggs and a couple of pieces of beef (similar to teriyaki style) Overall, great atmosphere and plating looks amazing. Food wise, a bit overhyped. Would I go back, yes I would to try the other items.

Yelp
Love their brunch plates! Comes with main pick (got the smoked salmon croissant, sausage, bacon), salad, mini pancakes, choice of eggs (got the eggs Benedict) and another choice of sides like waffle fries. The croissant and pancakes were great, everything else was average. Prices are reasonable and portions are huge. Only downside is wait time on weekends which is expected in Downtown Toronto. Came 30mins after opening time on a weekend and waited ~1h. They also only take cash or debit.

Yelp
Went here with my best friend on a brunch date and we really loved the atmosphere of this restaurant. We got the Maine Lobster roll and it came with waffle fries. The lobster roll was very delicious and the waffle fries were super crispy I really recommend it! The matcha roll cake did disappoint me as it had a very weak taste of matcha I wish it was stronger. The peach calpis smoothie was good and also very tall . I would definitely recommend this restaurant I will be back to try their coffee!

Yelp
I came here on a late Friday afternoon with a friend. I was worried that it wouldn't live up with the hype but it completely did! We were able to be seated right away. Menus can be viewed on their website or by scanning a QR code at the table. The food was SO incredibly good. My friend got the Kimchi Sukiyaki beef and I can't put into words how amazingly delicious it was. We were both shook. The pancakes are also perfectly fluffy and bite sized. I'm not really a pancake person but I devoured the 25 mini ones I ordered. The portion sizes are also huge for the affordable price. The restaurant is cute and on the smaller size. There is a 1 hour time limit there and it gets very busy on the weekends. The staff were super friendly and were quick to refill our water! Parking is somewhat annoying since it's mainly street parking but the restaurant is only a short walk away from St. Patrick station.

Yelp
The first time I visited Light Cafe was for their TikTok-famous take-out brunch box. The portion was huge and was enough to share among two people. I'm definitely a big fan of their bite-sized pancakes - light and fluffy! My second visit was for dine-in brunch. I opted for the garlic dill karaage sandwich because I wanted to try a new item. It was a bit underwhelming - I wish the chicken was more tender and less salty. However, my brother ordered the duck breast salad and it was decent. Overall, this place is worth a try for their brunch box!

Yelp
This cafe has some of the best food presentation! It's a great quiet place to grab desserts and also amazing for brunch. I came here with a friend after hotpot, I got the matcha red bean puff and my friend got the strawberry chiffon roll cake. I was pleasantly surprised by how rich the cream was. The matcha cream had a strong matcha flavour but was not overly bitter, the red bean cream was amazing. The choux pastry was crisp and complemented the cream well. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch and dessert!
