Google
It's a restaurant that restored the old bank a long time ago, so the atmosphere and interior are really beautiful and Elegant. The better than Maryland crab soup was really delicious. The wine was also attractive. But the fillet mignon steak was too dry and tasteless. The fried oysters were too thick and the seasoning was too strong, What is worse the liver itself was not tasty. The oysters inside were not moist either. The interior is very beautiful, the crab soup was delicious, but it's a pity that the main menu is not delicious.

Google
What a unique and memorable experience! This restaurant is set inside a beautifully restored old bank, and the atmosphere is just incredible—full of character and charm. You can still see original features like the vault, which adds a fun and historic touch. The food was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and the service was warm and welcoming. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed meal with a bit of history on the side. Highly recommend checking it out!

Google
Great old spot across from courthouse and Park in Old Town Leesburg. Apparently used to be a very old bank, not sure what the upstairs veranda was for🤣 Food was great and Joe was a perfect server. They split our entree, basically steak frites, which was delicious. Lovely decor and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

Google
Lovely restaurant, good food and good service. The only thing that fail short is their blood orange margarita, it wasn't freshly squeezed and overly sweetened with syrup. Also lack presentation.

Google
It's a very nice place and I can see at night it might be a good "date night" location. It's grand and has lovely bones. The food is also quite good.

Google
The building is very unique. While sitting you can take in the historic architecture. The staff are very well dressed. We arrived with no reservations, and there was even a wedding reception happening, but they still took us to a table without any wait. The food was incredible. We had the Mediterranean style salmon, and the salmon salad. The flavor combinations were so savory and delicious. My 2yr old daughter, wife, and myself were dining. They put a rush on my daughters food so she got it quickly and was occupied while we waited for ours. Truly a great dining experience. I highly recommend the Mediterranean salmon and salmon salad.

Google
I went for an early dinner to celebrate a birthday with family. For starters, the waiter Jose was very attentive and let us order at our pace. The interior decor is of an old bank with mahogany wood all over. My party ordered a lot of food starting with the Asian nachos and ham biscuits. Both were very tasty. We ordered the salmon salad and steak and eggs and again food was well prepared and tasty. We also ordered the chicken schnitzel. It could have been thinner and the chicken a little more tender. Otherwise it was tasty. Only thing I hate now is the 3% charge for using a credit card. Otherwise, good experience and will most likely come back again

Google
First time in Leesburg, VA. My contractor recommended the Lightfoot restaurant. We came at 3pm and walking into the building was an amazing experience to the eye. The food was truly amazing in taste, freshness, and presentation on point. The wife and I will be back for more.

Yelp
We like Lightfoot, we go there at my Mom's request for special occasions. I've not had anything bad, just not dazzled by it. This time we went during restaurant week so we selected from that menu (sorry I forgot to take a pic). They were very short staffed and, despite our waiter Joe doing his best running around, it showed. If you weren't understanding of shirt staffed service, you would not have been happy... The hummus was good, the lobster bisque was good , with nice chunks of lobster, gazpacho was pretty good. The halibut special for restaurant week was good but not terribly flavorful. Filet was well cooked and really good. The berry desserts (off the regular menu) were supposed to have cookies but we didn't feel like the wait to get it fixed. They didn't have several of the beers on tap that were on their menu. The espresso martinis were excellent. So a good, not great meal, especially for the price. But.. Definitely better than the 3.5 stars it has.

Yelp
Just not OK. Brought me wrong wine to begin with. I could taste that's not the one I ordered. They said we will check at the bar. Finally admitted that that was another bottle and they confused with the wine I ordered. Brought a completely different starter dish. Let us have it at no charge- fine. But the one we ordered we just uneatable - so soggy and oily ( French fried zucchini) The scallop gnocchi- salt. Nothing else. Not to mention we were sited at the table next to a molded wall.

Yelp
I've spent a few decades living in Nova Scotia and New England . I'm a self proclaimed " seafood snob" ! And getting great seafood, fresh and prepared properly is a challenge in Northern Virginia ! Not at Lightfoot ! They do it right , every time !! Not overcooked or soaked in batter like so many restaurants! The only reason we don't go more often is because parking in Leesburg is getting more and more Stupid ! No fault of Lightfoot's

Yelp
Came here today for an early dinner. The restaurant is beautiful especially the bar area. Ancho margarita- too sweet for my liking. I feel the balance was off with this drunk- one would expect more sour than sweet to compliment the heat of what is supposed to be a spicy drink but this leaned way too far into the sweet category. Old Fashioned - boozy. Not bad. Deviled eggs - meh...the consistency was overcooked and rubbery, and the yolk was a bit bland. Fried green tomatoes- the cheese was good as was the accompanying sauce but the tomatoes were just ok. Key lime pie - again, just ok. I've definitely had better. The accompanying cream was nice, as was the scoop of vanilla I added. I enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant, although hearing a woman in the kitchen repeatedly yelling at my bartender, 'Why didn't you tell me you were a redneck?!' wasn't quite the mood enhancer I would've preferred. Overall, it was an enlightening first visit.

Yelp
Another wonderful family celebration at Lightfoot Restaurant. The food and service were great. We ordered off the regular menu instead of having a modified menu. The private room was very enjoyable without hearing the noise from the main dining room. The server was attentive and got all our meal, drink and dessert orders correct. This is a great option for that special birthday or anniversary event. Everything was perfect.

Yelp
We went here for Father's Day and it was a great experience. The restaurant itself is in a historic old bank and delightfully decorated a la art deco. The service was adequate. The food was fantastic! We each enjoyed our meals very much. They had ample vegetarian options. I got the potato soup without bacon (my brother in law and I both got the potato soup, and agreed it was the best potato soup we've ever had. I wanted to sit in the middle of the bowl and eat my way out!) and greek egg dish which were both delicious. The rest of our party also enjoyed their dishes. The pricing was reasonable though there is an 18% service charge applied to parties over 6 (?). Definitely a must eat! Will eat here again!

Yelp
I was in town visiting a friend and he suggested we dine here. Am I glad he did! I am a foodie and I approach new food adventures with a bit of skepticism. If I was only following Yelp as a guide I wouldn't have gone here with its inexplicable 3.5 star rating currently. I give this place a solid 5 star review because I throughly enjoyed every aspect of my visit from the service to the quality of the food, to the live entertainment (piano man) and stellar bar. My buddy and I both felt like having fish and steak for dinner so our terrific server told us the kitchen would be happy to split the entrees for us. They charge $5 to do it but it was well worth it. We were both able to enjoy 2 standout dishes; the rockfish and filet mignon. Both were absolutely delicious. The drinks are creative and strong. I enjoyed washing down my meal with a few of them. I have already told my friend this is the spot for me when I return next year. Looking forward to it already.

Yelp
Food is always a winner here. We came for a Friday night happy hour and got some tasty bites. The crab dip was a generous portion for happy hour prices. The nachos were huge and it was vegetarian. Drink specials were 3 cocktails and house wines and a lager. All were heavy pours and we appreciated it. Service was good. Our server was the bar keep and the server. He provided great service despite being the only person working the bar area. There's public parking in the back. Use your Park Mobile app. The place is reminiscent of an old school cocktail bar. They do take reservations.

Susan B.

Yelp
Made reservations a week ahead of time for a group of 13. Wanted to make sure we would have enough servers, could get separate checks, all was good. We sat in the alcove. We had 1 server who in addition to us had 2 more tables. Asked 3 times for a glass of wine before it came, food was slow to come out. 2 of us ordered the special halibut with crab meat on top, mashed potatoes and broccolini. Potatoes on both dishes were cold, sent back, got it back 10 minutes later, now fish was cold. People were almost done eating so we just kept ours. As the food was coming out the server was "auctioning " the food off. Who had steak? Who had the fish ? Salad? I thought at a finer dining establishment they have a system which varies from server to server so they know who ordered what? Even though we told the server our food was cold, there was no compensation - not a free desert - not a thing. No manager coming over. On the bill there was a note that said if you pay with a credit card it was 3% more. I was never informed about this when I made my reservation, so needless to say people didn't have cash and had to pay the 3%. After we paid we asked to speak to the manager. He went out of his way not to come over and speak to us. I do know know his name, however he was almost bald and heavy set. He did everything but come over to our table. Finally we got up and spoke to him as we left. He never apologized, he even argued about things. What a sad experience we had. We surely will never go back. Most of our table was disappointed with the food and the service, and above all the manager. What a poor example of a manager.

Tom B.

Yelp
The food is excellent and the service impeccable. The ambiance is amazing with a live band and the style in the restaurant is unique.

Yelp
The service was excellent. The big fat BLT + French fries was delicious, well made, perfectly grilled, and flavorful. The braised pork, shrimp, and grits combo was a great portion and delicious! But the deviled eggs appetizer were the best part, incredibly well made, beautifully presented, and incredibly tasty. With an iced tea and soda, the total was about $76. Highly recommended!

Matthew S.

Yelp
We had my daughter's Sweet 16 there in a private room. Absolutely fantastic! The food was great, service was incredibly attentive, and the setting is beautiful. It was also one of the only places we looked at where they allowed a party of that size to order off the menu as opposed to a preset menu. All of our guests loved it!
google avatar

Jean G.

Yelp
This place is so close to 5 star, but I had to subtract a star because the acoustics are SO bad. I could hardly hear my husband across the table, and the waiter had to lean in to hear us. But, the food was delicious! I had rockfish, which was cooked perfectly and didn't need the beurre blanc. Hubby had lamb chops, it was a huge portion and he was in heaven. It's expensive but we'll go back. Maybe there's a quieter section there?
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
Great service and worth for the time to drive out there. It was a bank from the past that turned into a restaurant. I didn't get a chance to see the second floor, but I heard they have good view from top to bottom. The food was ok. They have a lot of wines and cocktail option, but recommend a Light Foot Lager. The table is room and but you do hear next table gossip. It was a great late lunch. However, I do want to come back for dinner to enjoy the full experience.

Yelp
Happy hour is a good bang for your bucks. The bar area is big, a couple of high tops and plenty of bar space. Bar server co er all the space, he was very attentive. They serve a deviled egg dish on their happy hour menu. Tasty and appeared to be made to order. Also took a few bites of the shared nachos. That probably could have been a bit warmer. The chips were fresh but the whole dish lacked in toppings.

Bonnie L.

Yelp
I was there a long time ago, and I mean a long time ago, but had great service! Also great food!

Charlie S.

Yelp
Had the California salad and crab bisque. Both were excellent. Could have used a small bowl for the shrimp shells.

Yelp
I had an early Christmas dinner at Lightfoot Restaurant this weekend. The decor puts you instantly in a Christmas spirit! Red bows, nutcracker, lights, it was beautiful! We ordered the crab dip for appetizer. It's a huge serving. It was decently flavored. The better part of the meal was the main dish Salmon and the burger. Both were very tasty and flavorful. Service was okay. For drink I had the Christmas margarita, again it was alright. I would say this place is more hitting the target on ambiance and environment. Cool vibes! As far as the food and drink it was average, but good!
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour... Was a very nice experience. Food was good. Service was excellent! Good draft beer. I think the highlight of a happy hour menu or the oysters.
google avatar

Vanessa C.

Yelp
This is such a stunning location! And the vibe is just as good. We discovered it a month ago and have already been back. The food and drinks from both their regular menu and specials have been superb. We have had various pasta dishes and salads and all have been well done. I also have to give a SHOUT OUT to our amazing waitress Deena. She is a gem, always giving menu advise and making sure you are well taken care of. She remembered us when we came back and that tells you a lot about how invested she is in a positive experience!! If you're in downtown leesburg, this is a must try! Ask for Deena, she will take great care of you!

Yelp
We came to Lightfoot during happy hour because they are famous for it. In mid-afternoon on a weekday, they were very quiet but we sat at the bar and had a great conversation with the gregarious bar tender. The interior appears to be a former bank and this architecture lends to the quirky atmosphere of this dining experience. As for the food, we stuck to the happy hour menu and had lots of fun with it. The selections were diverse, affordable and delicious! The drink side of the happy hour was a little disappointing in that the happy hour beer advertised as a lager was not like any lager any of us ever sampled and was just okay as a beer accompaniment. Nevertheless, they do deserve their high reputation of happy hour and we expect to return!
google avatar

Yelp
Thus is by far the best upscale restaurant in downtown Leesburg with outstanding food, ambiance and hospitality that is far better than most.

donald d.

Yelp
Unbelievable service and excellent food! Beautiful atmosphere can't say enough about how delicious our meals were!
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
I haven't been here in years but it wasn't as good as I remembered it. Very noisy, poor seating. There look to be decent seats but we didn't get offered any of them. The French onion soup was good 8/10 but I've had better. The fried chicken was really a fancy chicken's tender, the Mac and cheese was not good - could taste the flour, and the ranch was just terrible. The burger was also decent 7/10 but not worth going back for. Overall it was just an average meal with limited options and on the pricey side. I'll probably be going somewhere else next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Birthday lunch with girlfriends. Amazing food and service. The ambiance was upscale and so comfortable. I highly recommend this food experience.!

Hunter M.

Yelp
Overrated and overpriced. That is the bottom line. Sat at the bar and the bartenders were pompous and arrogant. Red wine was poured into wrong style of glass. Food was ok but incredibly overpriced. Lobster bisque was the exception, fantastic. Bottom line, look elsewhere. Do better Lightfoot
google avatar

Edward N.

Yelp
What a fantastic place. It's an old bank beautifully redone to create a wonderful atmosphere and feast for the eyes as well as the pallets. The menu choices are varied and interesting. The service is excellent. We were there for lunch. We had the bisque, a crab BLT, a vegetable omelette, and a child's portion of macaroni and cheese. All were very good with delicious flavorings. We even had the crème brûlée for dessert. This was a great experience!
google avatar

Jen P.

Yelp
It was a cold night and I'd been on my feet all day, so I got my food to go and headed back to my AirBnB, but I just have to say the French Onion Soup was so unique and delicious it deserves its own review. The addtion of the mushrooms makes it rich and unctious (never thought I'd know how to use that word, but it fits here) and it was just perfect.

Yelp
The ambiance is lovely. Really a beautiful place. I hadn't been there in more than 15 years, and we went as guests of friends on Saturday evening to celebrate a birthday. We ordered drinks called I love Lucy, or something similar, and for $15 each we were pretty disappointed. No garnish and truly nothing special. One of the guys ordered a beer, and when delivering a glass of wine, our server accidentally spilled his full to the brim glass of beer all over him, his pants, and shirt. That was not great to start things off, but she offered to buy us a dessert. We said no thanks, because we had brought our own birthday cake, but honestly we expected a manager to come over and apologize to our friend who was literally drenched for the rest of the evening and left smelling like a fraternity. It didn't happen. No one came over at all. The food- some of us loved our food. The birthday girl ordered a BLT and she seemed to enjoy it. The "frat" guy got the steak salad and said it was good. I ordered the gyro, and I must say it was really not good. The steak was very overcooked, and there wasn't much meat to it at all. The best thing about it was the zucchini fries. Definitely not a meal worth its cost. I've had much better gyros for a lot less money, and I would give it a rating of 2 out of 5. My husband ordered an appetizer salad and the ham biscuits and said they were good. All in all I was very disappointed in the service, and especially since no one from management even bothered to come talk to us after the spill. I also was shocked to find out that not even a few dollars was taken off of the check for the beer. They had a nice opportunity to show off their upscale service, but didn't bother. I have a feeling I'll be okay waiting another 15 years to return. Lightfoot, you can do better.

B G.

Yelp
To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Ive lived in the area for over 20 years and always wanted to dine here, especially given its history. I made reservations for a birthday dinner and when we arrived we were told to wait an additional few minutes. This would have been fine except there were only 2 other customers in the entire restaurant and it was so quiet and awkward you could hear a pin drop. Staff members walked past us with no acknowledgement until one of them walked up, grabbed a few menus and asked us to follow him. I pointed out that we had a reservation because I wanted him to notice the comment in there about a birthday. He pushed a few buttons on the screen and seated us by the faux fireplace. The table and ambiance were very nice. Our server was also great and attentive. We ordered our food. I ordered a burger medium well and it came out well done so it was really hard to eat. When we asked for the check (we werent offered dessert) there was no acknolwedgement for a birthday, not even a comment. The other thing that really rubbed us the wrong way is that staff members were openly cussing on the floor and continued joking around really loudly to the point where it was disruptive. The restaurant was already mostly empty so their voices felt extra loud. It felt more like a sportsbar than a fine dining experience. I've seen far more professionalism, better food, and acknowledgements for every special occasion from Clydes and other GAR restaurants in the area. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. As a side note, I would make two additional recommendations- play some kind of music in the background so we can't hear every convo in the room (and so it doesn't feel so awkward) and please put a baby changing station in one of the stalls. It doesn't cost much and makes a huge difference for families with small children.

Yelp
Fantastic food in an very cool setting. The restaurant is located in a beautiful old bank building. Very cool setting. The food is fantastic and the service has always been great! They are also excellent for events with plenty of great spaces upstairs. Working with the event team is also a breeze - they are very experienced and took care of all of our needs. Our guests we blown away with the food and the beauty of the restaurant. Everything we have tried is great here. Favorites include honey ham biscuits, maryland crab bisque, everyone's favorite salad, filet mignon and one of the best crabcakes I have ever eaten!

Ann C.

Yelp
Fantastic service and food! We celebrated an anniversary recently at Lightfoot Restaurant. Upon arrival we were presented with 2 glasses of champagne. Very nice touch! Our waiter was personable, professional, and efficient. The food was delicious. The chef does a great job keeping the fan favorite menu items as well as introducing new ones. Everything we tried was outstanding. Would definitely recommend for a special occasion or just a nice evening out.

Yelp
We ventured to this gem in Downtown Leesburg for my husband's birthday. The service is impeccable. Our server delivered some lovely corn and cheese bread along with my Aperol Spritz and my husband's Cab. We ordered the shrimp and lobster pasta along with the Filet, mashed potatoes and asparagus. Both meals were heavenly delicious! Loved the art work as the restaurant is located inside a previous bank, high ceilings, and red pillars. Highly recommend this venue if you venture to Downtown Leesburg. Parking is free in the garage on weekends too!

Yelp
Great food ( loved the Halibut!!) , great service in a great location. The old bank makes for an absolute wonderful setting to enjoy dinner or a lunch. Love everything about this place!.
google avatar

Victor S.

Yelp
Excellent service. Food was delicious. Perfect for a romantic evening or a lively dinner, as the ambiance fits both. Dress is semi casual, but I'd err on the side of a button up collared shirt at least.

Patty A.

Yelp
Beautiful ambience and always impeccable service. I have been visiting this restaurant for years. The daily specials are always creative and delicious. The best onion soup and lobster bisque around! The food at Lightfoot is creative, consistent, and fairly priced. Perfect date place, lunch with ladies or business meeting.
google avatar

Yelp
We had an amazing Christmas Eve Dinner at Lightfoot. The service was outstanding and the restaurant beautifully decorated for Christmas. The food was excellent and the special cocktails were fantastic! So glad we chose this for our Christmas Eve dinner.
google avatar

Bill C.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Ordered filet and crab cake. I cannot recall the name of the dish, but it was a chef speciality. Wife had lobster linguine, also excellent. Cups of crab bisque were good size cups (mugs) and had plenty of crab. Atmosphere was nostalgic/classy, retired bank with warm rich wood and plenty of architectural character. Service (Kim) was top notch! Personable, friendly, elegant, prompt, and just outside eyeshot but always there ready to provide service. We were underdressed but they made us feel very comfortable. Prices are a bit up there. Wife and I had dinner with 1 drink each, roughly $180. Still, we will be back.

Chuck A.

Yelp
We had an anniversary dinner here. The restaurant is very unique and has a lot really impressive architecture and features inside. The service was great even on what ended up being a busy night. The food was fantastic, we both had a bay scallop pasta dish which was a generous portion also. We will be back!

Yelp
If you genuinely want to impress either your wife, or a woman you are very interested in, Book a reservation for Sunday evening at 8 PM. Request the fireplace side table and by the end of your meal, you will have the entire restaurant to yourself (you are welcome gentlemen.) Food, -9/10. - presentation was fantastic, delivered in a timely manner. Cooked to perfection. Very well done. Menu selection-8/10. (The culinary staff executed their menu very well.) Personalized service, 10 out of 10... Particularly at this time Aesthetic appeal, and attention to detail of the restaurant itself was absolutely flawless. Wine list, appropriately diversified to accommodate all pallets, and very well priced considering the depth of the wine list. At the end of the night, the manager came over and thanked us for our patronage, and I congratulated them on a well executed meal.
google avatar

Esther L.

Yelp
We came here for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint!! The staff was so kind and gave us complimentary champagne. We made a reservation but ended up sitting outside which is first come first served. It was beautiful back there. They had a great keyboard played with a fountain and lights that really created a romantic ambiance. This is the nicest restaurant in downtown Leesburg and classy. I recommend this for a nice night out. It is not really a casual family restaurant as it is more upscale. The food was delicious from the soups and appetizers to the entrees and dessert. The wine was good and service was impeccable even on a busy Saturday night at 6pm! The cream of crab soup was amazing as was my cream cake club sandwich (I added a slice of cheese). Got creme brulee for dessert which was good with a nice crystallized top. Honestly I had heard so much and expected so much I was worried I would be disappointed but it was fabulous!! The prices were reasonable for a nice dinner. I cannot say enough good things. The inside of the restaurant is also beautiful like you are in a high end hotel. It is very classy and we loved it!

Sherry B.

Yelp
Food was very good. The service was far from being great. Our waitress had too many tables and we felt the brunt of it. Ambiance was nice.

Yelp
My wife went here for an evening out thank to a sitter and wanted to try somewhere new. The Tenderloin Gyro was her draw to Lightfoot and I wanted to try the Sea Scallops w/short rib raviolis. We needed a reservation according to when I called even though the place was maybe 50% capacity so I'm assuming they were a little short staffed but it didn't show. The building inside and out is like a piece of art all by itself. Their decorations for Chet were amazing and it was so beautiful all the way around. I had a delicious old fashioned for a cocktail and we got spicy tomato soup and a Caesar salad to start. They were all amazing. There was an issue with our timing for food and drinks initially due to a system error that erased everyone's orders but the waitress kept us posted and got our bread in the meantime. Which was a jalapeño cheddar focaccia and corn bread and were great. Our entrees came out piping hot and extremely delicious. The short rib raviolis were perfectly seasoned, and comforting just wish I had a bigger portion for $35, plus I was hungry. My wife couldn't finish her Zucchini fries because her portion was huge and she loved the tenderloin gyro. We split a crème brûlée for dessert and a nice surprise of cotton candy to add to the meal was very nice. Overall this was a great choice for a lovely date night and we can't wait to try more items off of their menu.

Yelp
Be sure there are no private events upstairs while you are dining!!! The behavior was less than conducive to a family event below. Berry SaladEveryone's Favorite Salad. Still the best.

Elmer E H.

Yelp
Amazing!!!!! Chef Ingrid's food continues to amaze!!! We have been regular patrons since the opening of the restaurant in 1999. The Oysters Rockefeller are absolutely amazing as always. The scallop appetizer (new to us) was incredible. Will be anticipating our next visit. Our favorite place for any occasion. Thank you for an amazing culinary delight. We met George for the first time at the bar.....awesome
google avatar

Yelp
A really cool spot! The location and decor are great. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was really good. Stand outs for me were the jalapeño cheese bread and the French onion and mushroom soup.

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
Really cool atmosphere with the best happy hour. Service can sometimes be hit or miss if they are busy.

Yelp
The food here is very good and I have been celebrating my birthday here (most years) for the last 18 years. Unfortunately, I think this year is the last year that we will go on my birthday. It probably didn't help that it was a Friday night but the restaurant was packed and very loud. I tend to order the same meal everytime: Lobster bisque to start, filet mignon (which I usually pack to go so I can eat dessert) and creme brulee. This year the Lobster Bisque was not quite as good as I remembered and the creme brulee did not have a thick shell on top. The prime rib was more rare than med rare (which was ok because we brought it home and heated it the next day). I never even cut into the filet as the soup was very filling. I guess the biggest disappointment is the noise level and the seating. We had the end seat right next to the bar. One bench and one chair. We added that we were celebrating my birthday on the reservation and they provide a candle if you order dessert. If you are looking for an intimate dinner, look somewhere else. If you just want a god steak and don't care about the noise level this is a great option.

Yelp
Went for the first time last night (a Thursday), for a relative's birthday, and could not have been happier with it. First, the ambiance is unique. I saw that it was a restored historic bank, and that it had some of the original architecture, and I was hoping to be able to enjoy the view as much as the food. I was not disappointed. The original architecture has been preserved and restored and is really gorgeous, from the grand staircase and ceiling to the teller windows and all the ornate wooden carvings, plus the original vault in the middle of the room. It was really just fun to be in there and look around. Second, the food was really great. Every single appetizer and entree we ordered was great. I had an apple goat cheese salad and rigatoni with tomato cream sauce, and I ate way too much because it just tasted so good. Everyone was thrilled with their meal. I would say the food quality is better than Tuscarora, and in many ways as good as the Conche. However, the ambiance and the location are better than both of those. Being in downtown Leesburg is also nice, and afterward you can walk along King street and find some ice cream. Service was also excellent. They definitely didn't rush us through the meal - I appreciated having time to digest my salad before the entrees came out (kind of a pet peeve when we're still eating appetizers and the entrees arrive). We ended up spending much more time there than we normally spend in a restaurant, which is nice for a special occasion. As for the dress code, we were not dressed up, and I notice that some patrons were very dressed, and others were not, so we felt fine being casual, but you could definitely dress up if you wanted to. Great date restaurant - the seating is very private and the lighting is romantic. The only tiny criticism I have is that the desserts were a let-down. Just not very good at all, and that's tough to do with just ice cream and cake. I'd say for sure skip dessert here and go down the block to the ice cream place instead. It's open late and had a good crowd. Not a good enough reason to take a star away, though.
