"You could bring just about anyone to Lighthouse, and they’d have a good time. Most of the food skews Mediterranean, with plenty of great vegetarian options like sprouted hummus, burrata with toasted sourdough, and grilled escarole topped with tahini (a Lighthouse classic). But the menu doesn't always stay on theme. During brunch, you can also get chilaquiles, ceviche, or an egg sandwich. If it's nice out, try to get a picnic table on the sidewalk." - bryan kim, carina finn koeppicus, will hartman, sonal shah
"“Lighthouse is more like Lighthome, for me, and if you live in the near vicinity of this restaurant, I bet it is for you, too. Somehow, it feels like both an extension of my living room, but also an escape from it and the pile of laundry I have been avoiding folding. I love gathering a big group of friends here, making ourselves comfy, sharing plates and plates of mezze, and stretching out the night for as long as we possibly can. Lighthouse is a place that won’t just let you do that—it wants you to.”" - brennan carley
"As usual, Lighthouse is offering a handful of outdoor tables on the sidewalk. And as usual, dinner here feels casual, but over-delivers in every way. From grilled escarole that we’d eat by the bucket to a great wine list to one of the best burgers in the neighborhood, this should be near the top of your list for your next dinner when you want to impress someone without appearing to try. Make a reservation through their website for a table any day of the week." - matt tervooren
"You’ve come to terms with the fact that you’re not going to be one of those people who learns how to make bread right now. So get some fresh-made sourdough from Lighthouse instead (and check out their takeout and delivery menu while you’re at it). You can 347-789-7742 or go to their website to place your order." - hannah albertine
"In the summer, our default still-haven’t-made-a-plan-but-want-to-be-outside move is Lighthouse. What it lacks in views (the big picnic tables outside look out onto the street), it makes up for in incredibly good food, incredibly nice servers, and an excellent oyster happy hour that runs until 7:30pm nightly. Very little can feel wrong when you’re drinking a $25 bottle of rose, eating $1 oysters, and have kind of healthy but very satisfying food on the way." - katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg
