"You could bring just about anyone to Lighthouse, and they’d have a good time. Most of the food skews Mediterranean, with plenty of great vegetarian options like sprouted hummus, burrata with toasted sourdough, and grilled escarole topped with tahini (a Lighthouse classic). But the menu doesn't always stay on theme. During brunch, you can also get chilaquiles, ceviche, or an egg sandwich. If it's nice out, try to get a picnic table on the sidewalk." - bryan kim, carina finn koeppicus, will hartman, sonal shah
"In the summer, our default still-haven’t-made-a-plan-but-want-to-be-outside move is Lighthouse. What it lacks in views (the big picnic tables outside look out onto the street), it makes up for in incredibly good food, incredibly nice servers, and an excellent oyster happy hour that runs until 7:30pm nightly. Very little can feel wrong when you’re drinking a $25 bottle of rose, eating $1 oysters, and have kind of healthy but very satisfying food on the way." - katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg
"If you want a sweet potato covered in labne, you could strain plain yogurt at home, but we’re guessing that’s not your first choice when it’s 7:45pm on a Wednesday. Avoid spending 20 minutes searching for the cheesecloth you’re not even sure you own, and order a sweet potato with smoky labne and spicy green relish from Lighthouse in Williamsburg instead (and maybe one of their great salads too)." - hannah albertine, nikko duren
"Lighthouse has that perfect "Brooklyn vibe" that will make your Instagram friend especially excited to use a Williamsburg geotag. Plus, natural light, a runny egg-topped burger, and lots of healthy options." - chris stang
"When in doubt, we go to Lighthouse. “In doubt” could mean needing anything from a place for a casual dinner with a few friends when we’re trying to be relatively healthy, to a place to house a burger by ourselves at the bar, to a place to bring parents who can’t hear for sh*t. We've been in each of these situations, and every time, we’ve turned to Lighthouse. It’s a simple spot, with a setting that’s much more neighborhood hang than destination restaurant - but sometimes (lots of times), that’s exactly what you need." - katherine lewin
