Lights over Lapland AB

We joined the Morning Snow Hike in Abisko National Park organised by Lights over Lapland and Matt was our guide. He arrived early to pick us from our hotel then when we reached Abisko National Park, he ensured that the rest of the guests who were joining were all accounted for. During the snow hike, he stopped frequently to share stories and the history of the location. He was also very attentive to ensure we trekked safely in the snow as some parts were quite slippery. He also suggested great spots to take photos and he took great photos for us too! Thank you Matt for the wonderful snow hike!

We booked 4 tours with Lights over Lapland during our winter vacation in Abisko. The company is very professional. The vehicles were all new and clean and the provided equipment is also of great quality. 5 stars also go to our guides. They all put great emphasis on the safety and happiness of the group. Joey was our guide on the Aurora chase and we had lots of fun. Joey entertained the group with jokes and stories and took very nice photos of everybody with the aurora. Marco was our guide on the photography tours. We took beautiful pictures with his help and he found the perfect photo spots in changing weather conditions. Cecilia was our guide on the morning hike and was very knowledgeable about the region, flora & fauna and local history. We even saw two moose. Thank you to everybody for the great experience!

What an absolutely amazing experience! Lights Over Lapland put together a tour package that was incredible. Four nights at the Abisko STF, winter coveralls, cameras, tripods, a guided hike in the Abisko National Park, and a guided chase of Northern Lights each night. Luckily we caught them in all their glory 2 nights and partially 1 night. Our communication with Jeanette and Rachel before and during our trip was excellent. They answered all of our questions promptly and I had many. Our nightly guide, Felix, was so knowledgeable and personable. We really enjoyed his company. Gavin, who led another group, was happy to help with our camera equipment and answer any questions. Sara, a laid back world traveler, took us on a very memorable hike. Her passion for the outdoors was evident. We thank you all for making this bucket list trip one we will always remember fondly.

What an unforgettable experience in Abisko with Lights over Lapland! We joined the 4-night Autumn Abisko Aurora Chase and were impressed from the very start. Despite gloomy skies on our first night, the guides’ dedication was remarkable. We drove nearly an hour east and checked multiple spots to find clear skies. It truly reassured us how committed they were to helping everyone see the northern lights. After that, we had 3 amazing nights with different Aurora shows. A huge thank-you to Sara, who went above and beyond: scouting the best viewing spots, helping with camera setups, keeping us warm, and ensuring we enjoyed every moment. Thanks to her, we witnessed a breathtaking Aurora Corona dancing overhead for over 30 minutes, a moment we’ll never forget (staying out well past the end of the tour!). We also loved the morning hike to Lake Torneträsk and the delta with Felix, a 2-hour walk surrounded by breathtaking autumn views. It was both relaxing and enriching. Overall, Lights over Lapland made this an exceptional experience. You might think you can chase the lights on your own, but having expert guides who understand the terrain, weather, and microclimates makes all the difference. Truly the best decision of our trip - highly recommended!

Five stars to our guides Mateo, Marco & Romy over the 4 nights we booked the Aurora Borealis photo tour. The 4 night photo tour package comes with 16 Megapixel Digital SLRs like a Nikon D5100 with the standard zoom 20-60 mm lense plus a professional tripod and a backpack case. You just bring a SD-Card to record all the great photos. Our first night was exceptional & we were blessed by GL-1 minor solar mass ejection. The remaining 3 nights we had one more viewing of the northern lights as a North Sea storm clouded up the sky. No worries Mateo kept our 3 boys entertained & teaching them fire making skills & stoking the wood stove. Mario was a great instructor as a professional photographer on setup of the camera for night long exposure shots. Romy, Mateo & Garret all were a great help to my 80 year old mother-in-law to get to the locations & guiding us over somewhat icy conditions. The company has various locations, Some within walking distance of the lodge or they VW van you to the locations. Also cudos to the company & the admin in the office for helping us find a bus company to hire when the Swedish rail company left us stranded with no bus service to make our connections to get to Umea & Stockholm for our ferry to Helsinki.

The Aurora chasing tour was amazing ! We saw beautiful Aurora 🥰!! Joey was a very passionate tour guide. She brought her own camera and took photos for all of us and put on fire where we could sit around having hot drink and cookies. It was very cosy atmosphere 😍. We really enjoyed the tour . Our family of four (all adults) just returned from a trip to Abisko to see the northern lights. As part of the Private Escape Experience we had booked, we stayed in a fully equipped house in Abisko, with a well-stocked kitchen. We even had our own sauna. Nothing overly luxurious but we were pleasantly surprised on how comfortable the house was. Lights Over Lapland is very organized and deliver what they offer. Sara was our dedicated guide and not only was she very knowledgeable, she also went out of our way to accommodate requests - from adjusting outing hours, restocking items, procuring snowshoes for our boys, sharing Swedish family traditions (and yes, we did watch Donald Duck on Christmas Eve when in Stockholm), and relentlessly chasing the auroras in the evenings. During the day, we did the Morning Hike, the Landscape Photography Adventure and the Sami village/reindeer visit. I was even treated to a special birthday cake delivered with a Swedish Happy Birthday song. I can't begin to say how great and engaging Sara was. It would be nice if Lights Over Lapland added a cross-country ski hike to the list of day-time options. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip to other families.

We enjoyed our Abisko National Park Scenic Morning Hike with our wonderful guide Gavin so much so that we decided to book the Autumn Abisko Aurora Chase the same night to continue exploring what Abisko has to offer with Gavin and the LoL team and guests! It was a really beautiful and educational hike, and Gavin was really lovely, knowledgeable, kind and patient throughout. Having a photography background, Gavin was also able to bring us to great spots for beautiful photos! We also even tried out walking on a frozen part of the lake! The Northern Lights chase at night was exciting and we’re so glad we managed to catch the northern lights (our first time ever!) with the expertise, strategic planning, and patience of Gavin and Miquel (and with a bit of luck given the weather). We also enjoyed some snacks and warm lingonberry juice over fire to end the magical night. Thanks Gavin, Miquel and the team at LoL for such magical experience!
