Yelp
TLDR: You have to check out this super cool spot.
I celebrated my birthday at this tasting room and had an absolute blast!
***LOCATION***
The tasting room is located in a sort of warehouse space. Your GPS can take you there, but once you go through the gate, you'll want to go straight until you can't anymore, and make a right. From there you'll see some signs for the tasting room. You can park your car next to the tasting room.
***EXPERIENCE***
Their tasting room officially opens every Saturday, May 11 until October. I emailed them to schedule a tasting for me and nine of my friends and Melissa was beyond helpful. She responded quickly to my emails and was so kind.
Their tasting was $20 for EIGHT wines! Yes you read that right, eight wines. And they were GENEROUS pours. If you're familiar with The Veil in RVA, this feels like wine version. The vibes and design here are just so cool. It's a super casual environment. My friends and I were coming from a long outdoor day and we were happy for a chill spot. The friends of mine who were more comfy in brewery settings/intimidated by vineyards were really happy for the casualness of the tasting.
Melissa really elevated the experience. She educated us about the wine's/winemaker's backgrounds and answered all our questions. She gave us our own private room too. We loved it. The group's favorite wine was the Troddenvale cider collab COLORWAVE. It was also fun to learn the winemakers like to use petit manseng in most of their wines. We also got to go home with some of our favorite labels.
***PRICE***
You can't beat $20 for a tasting of eight wines. Bottles ranged from $25-35.
***BATHROOM***
The bathroom isn't in the tasting room, but it's in a building nearby. It was described to me having "school bathroom" vibes which made me laugh because this was true. There is a Men and Women's bathroom, but the women's bath room only had one stall.
***CONCLUSION***
I cannot rave enough about this tasting room. Its approachable and cool atmosphere add a million stars to the experience. I highly recommend checking out this hidden gem.
