Things to know before you go:
1. Getting there – Don’t put Lil Nashville into Google Maps on your iPhone type in the road name instead. Otherwise, you’ll end up about a 10-minute walk from the actual venue. (See photo of what I mean)
2. Reservations & entry – We arrived for our booking, but our table wasn’t ready. Fair enough, but you’re not allowed to wait at the bar (which was completely empty!). the amount of drinks money they are missing out on from that.
Also worth noting: if your name isn’t on the list for a table , they’ll turn you away at the door — so don’t plan on just rocking up. After about 9:30pm, though, they let people in once they can charge the £8 entry fee for live music.
3. Live music during dinner – The singer was brilliant, but our table was off to the side with no real view of the stage.
4. Food – We ordered the Big Daddy BBQ Platter (£45).
• Brisket: nicely done, though served on paper that went soggy and stuck to the meat which I ate.
• Sausage: couldn’t really place what it was meant to be—somewhere between a saveloy, chorizo, and mystery meat.
• Cornbread: really good.
Overall: edible but not worth the price tag.
5. Evening schedule – Kitchen closes at 8 pm. By around 9 pm they start clearing away tables, then the next live act begins around 9:30.
6. Entry fee – Once the tables are cleared, live music entry costs £8 per person.
Overall – After a bit of waiting around, the band at 9:30 was fantastic and the atmosphere really picked up. But between the food, the waiting, and the entry system, I don’t think I’d go back.
