Liliana Review - Mission - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Liliana is the bar-equivalent of a wood-burning fireplace—warm, intimate, and inspiring us to snug up with an alcoholic beverage well into the night. The fancy Mission cocktail spot carries over the cozy ambiance of its next door sibling restaurant, Osito, the entirely live-fire tasting menu spot. Walls and ceilings are covered in wood panels, and dramatic lighting gives a moody glow. Just as much thought goes into Liliana’s drink and fruit- and meat-heavy menu. We’re still thinking about the well-balanced white negroni with fennel gin and hints of dill, and the beautifully charred sourdough fry bread alongside fresh figs and the silkiest housemade ricotta." - Lani Conway

Do not waste your money here. It is flavorless. I’ve been waiting for the perfect afternoon to try the establishment since thru moved to Society Garden; if it wasn’t for their excellent service this would have been 1 star for me. Honestly, the most lackluster food I’ve had since moving to Macon. The French dip ($16) like sandwich arrived with hunks of unmelted cheese and bread that was beyond soggy. I ate on premises so no delivery delay sogginess to attribute this to. The bread was still cold although being charred. The meat tasted like nothing. No flavor, no juice. The lack of flavor was surprising, it was nothing. Just dry meat. The au jus was nice but slightly cold upon delivery (across the courtyard). Weak meat portions for the price point. Cannot speak to the cheese as it arrived still unmelted and cold. I suspect this bread might be nice, if properly toasted. The crostini’s ($9) were sad. The pesto spread needed sooooooo much salt to even make it taste like something. I did enjoy the jarred red peppers though. Ample serving of bread but nothing you’d want to put on it :/ wound up tossing the entire thing, it was honestly flavorless and did not mirror any type of Italian street crostini like treat I’ve experienced in multiple trips to Italy, The gentleman at the window was nice and offered me a complimentary fried eggplant with tomato sauce. It was the only thing I’d go back for, it was flavorful and seasoned. Overall: total lack of seasoning and total lack of attention paid to food (soggy bread is a no-go for a French dip that will be further dipped). Overpriced for the experience, very disappointed as I’d hoped this would be a staple. But… the guy at the window was nice!

The food is a 3.5/4 which in my book means pretty good and I would eat again. My boyfriend and I tried the wings, chicken skewers, fries, and the power grain salad. The main critique I’d give is to please massage the kale in the power grain salad. Raw kale can be tough to chew, so massaging helps a lot. Overall, I would recommend this place! Glad Society Garden has some food inside it now! Very convenient :)

May wife has a limited diet and one of the few items that she used to be able to get has now been removed on the weekends!! All they offer is fried foods and nothing of substance on the weekends!!! So if you have tried them before and were looking forward to getting that dish on the weekends you’re out of luck. You are now limited to the few days a week they are open. Not sure if we will be back??? We left because everything they were offering was geared towards people with the munchies, so I guess that tells me we are probably no longer welcome at Society Garden either!!

Horrible sandwich and overpriced. Nothing compared to a real Chicago Italian beef. 80% of the meat was burned and they had the nerve to say “I thought you wanted it crispy” I wouldn’t recommend them at all!

Not authentic ramen. Dry Pork. No flavor. Gyoza- no good either.

First time from here via Dasher. I ordered the Gusto Italiano Burger and the grilled green beans. Both were hot when I received my lunch/dinner. The Burger was way too thick..but tasty…meat needed salt bad. Grilled green beans were delish. I only ate about 1/4 of my burger and every single green bean. I probably won’t order this same burger but you can bet I’ll order the green beans. You should have the option of what you want in your burger..imho. It was soooo thick. But the lunch/dinner was enjoyable and I’m glad I tried them!

It’s a food truck parked at Society Gardens and it’s super over rated. The food is really expensive and it takes forever. Do yourself a favor and go to literally any other place around here. Society Gard is actually a pretty cool outdoor bar and concert venue. Check it out, but eat at the pizza place next door.
