Exquisitely designed, intimate restaurant with outstanding service.
Located on the site of Queen Elizabeth ll's birthplace, Lilibet's is as regal as her late Majesty, yet seamlessly cosy and most welcoming.
Everything about it has been well thought out - from the signature scent on arrival in the reception area (the choice (we were told) of the wife of Restaurateur /Founder Ross Shonhan who we had the pleasure to meet on our visit) and curtain placement to allow for the reveal of the exquisite interior, through to the delightful menu, subtle decor with nods to Cookie (their late pet dog) and the (Instagrammable) toilets.
The team were great - friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in walking us through the menu to explain the items that were unknown to us (so THAT's what Dog Sauce is).
The main dining room is split into separate areas each with its own design and feel (we dined by the fireplace and observed the goings-on in the kitchen). This design choice allows you to return (which we certainly will) and experience the venue as if dining at a different place on each occasion.
The drink menus feature over 10+ red/white wines by the 125ml glass and 375ml carafe, which is a welcome choice post partaking in one of the many delicious cocktails - we tried a few of the 'classic & elegant' "tini's which did not disappoint.
Food highlights from our choices:
Anchovy éclair - we shared one of these small yet delicately formed snacks and enjoyed the salty treat so much, ended up having another.
Lilibet's mash - (we practically wiped the bowl clean) - creamy, butter laden mashed potato, surrounded by a moat of rich seafood bisque topped with lobster - LUSH!
Prego - a fillet steak sandwich (served rare), which was a fantastic alternative to cheese as a savoury dessert option.
Overall if seafood is your thang - heck even if its not as they have a range of alternatives, go visit - you will not be disappointed!
Update 05.11.25 - Have been back since my original review and the service and food standards remained the same.
This time, I also visited the impressive looking bar (located in the front half of the dining room) which is run by a friendly and engaging team.
Was pleased to see all cocktails made fresh (no premix here) and our Boulevardier's and Negroni's tasted delicious.
Nb. They also offer the full restaurant menu at the bar which is great if you fancy a bite as you sip your beverage.
