14 of the Best Black-Owned Bars and Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater

"At Buckhead’s Lily White, guests can enjoy Mediterranean and Persian flavors in a stylish setting that includes a blue-hued bar. Expect lots of bright flavors, especially in the cocktails. This is especially the case in the Yalda, a simple yet potent concoction of GREY GOOSE, pomegranate, and pineapple. It goes excellently with a mezze spread of hummus, labneh, fattoush (tomato and cucumber salad with bread), and harissa-glazed wings." - Vox Creative

We enjoyed the atmosphere at Lilys! They were out of a few key cocktail ingredients which made it difficult to order drinks but the drinks were good. The food was great and the service was outstanding! Hookah was a great addition. Food came out fast, some of our group meals weren’t the correct temperature. Spinach was yummy, mashed potatoes were old.

Food was SURPRISINGLY good. I came with a party of 6 and everyone said the food was good as well. One guest in our dinner party ordered the Fried Lobster & Jumbo Shrimp Mac & Cheese and rated it a 7/10. I ordered the Salmon Dinner which is served with yellow rice, grilled veggies, over a lemon butter sauce and I also got a side of Mac & Cheese. My food was a 9/10. The salmon did taste just a tad bit dry, but nothing egregious. The food wasn’t salty. I was worried that it would be salty because I still have bad taste in my mouth from the salmon I had from Blaze Steak and Seafood a couple weeks ago. Now let’s talk about the atmosphere. This is definitely a bias opinion because (a) I didn’t choose to eat at this restaurant (birthday dinner) and (b) I don’t frequent lounge-type places often. So with that being said, I could do without the loud music (the music was good though) and the hookah smoke. I’m literally coughing on my way home from the amount of smoke I probably breathed in. But hey, if that’s your thing, I’m sure you would like this place. The people dining were laidback, enjoying the music. It wasn’t rowdy. Some folks were casual and others were dressed up. I would say lean more on the casual side. Standard service. Everyone we interacted with—host, server, food runner—never did anything wildly upsetting. The bathroom is not that clean and inviting. Look for street parking if you don’t want to pay for parking at the restaurant. Other reviews said the parking was high, so we didn’t even bother with it.

The ambiance is really nice. Food was goid the mac and cheese lobster 🦞 with shrimp 🍤 was phenomenal. The lamb was excellent. Chicken and waffles was fluffy and very tasty. The drinks were not that strong . I woukd suggest just getting the large mimosas if you are in a big group just for the look. Only thing I think they need to work on is training the waitress to be more attentive. We actually had the opportunity to have 2 waitresses because they were training. But they still failed to come check on us.

Lily’s was ok with me. The food was yummy I did ask for a medium steak it was well done wasn’t sue how that happen completely different. I didn’t complain because it was still good.. I would ask to always have A-1 steak sauce in the house always… I had like a calm sunset drink something of the sort pretty watered down a little two much ice. My experience overall was good I would go back maybe cleaner bathroom it was only 5:00 pm ?? Dj was good 90s-2021 good selection everybody was sure turning up! Waitress was cool

The Bestie and I came here for our first time, for dinner. You have the option to either dine inside or outside and of course we chose, outside. We made dinner reservations, which I recommend doing. You can partake in Hookah. We tried the blueberry mist along with watermelon and it was GOOD HUNTY! For an appetizer, I ordered the calamari rings. For a drink, we had the strawberry smash (I think that's the name)! For dinner , she ordered the lamb chops with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Myself, I had the fried lobster and shrimp over mac n cheese, which was delicious by the way. The music was on point and the vibes were even better. If you're looking for a grown and sexy spot, this is your spot! Enjoy!

My two girlfriends and I came for brunch this weekend and we will definitely be back. The parking was easy, we were seated immediately (had a reservation) and the food came out fast and was flavorful. We ordered a pitcher of the mimosas, which was enough for the 3 of us (about 3 1/2 glasses each person). We ordered a hookah which pulled during our entire visit. The DJ knew how to get people dancing and definitely played them hits! Overall, great experience. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.

Tried this little night life spot in Buckhead on a Saturday night without reservations...bad move lol! Meeting a friend who was in town for the week and noted this place had drinks and hookah and wanted to check it out. Upon initial approach we were told it would be a 45 minute to 1 hr wait time as it was extremely crowded, so we decided not to put our name on the list. However, we perused other places in the area for about 10 minutes and found ourselves right back at the front door 🤣🤣 Lucky for us a reserved table was either really late or canceled and we were able to be seated in about 6 minutes. The vibe was nice, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and the music was hype. We chose outdoor seating with the patio sofas and tables, open glass windows, and other lawn decor. Service was good, bus boys were A+ (someone literally came by every minute to clear the tables lol), and the food was delicious (I'm sure my husband would disagree 🙄). I would definitely return but with reservations so the wait isn't too long.

I will give it up for the ambiance, vibes, music, and the appearance of the establishment. That was the very nice part. I was really looking forward to it. The first thing I noticed was that absolutely no one was wearing a mask... the manager, cooks, waitresses and bartenders... NO ONE. The service was fantastic from the jump with Brianna as our waitress. She was very helpful and pleasant. We placed our orders and got stuff off of the happy hour menu... wings, drinks and Mac and cheese. The wings were great and the drinks was strong, which was a plus! The mac and cheese was nothing unique though. Nothing worth raving over... We enjoyed our time there then we get our bill (pictured in this review). How does this make any sense at all?! We ordered four happy hour food items ($24 total before taxes) and three alcoholic beverages ($19.50 total before taxes) and then the total ends up being $56.70 (with taxes and an unknown mandatory gratuity for TWO PEOPLE during happy hour 🙄). After doing the math, it was like they taxed us both as individuals and then did 20% gratuity per person or something.... it was like being charged 40% of the $24 & $19.50 added together.....At that point I had really only figured it out after giving my card so that is on me. The business showed up as an AD on my IG feed so I was excited to try a new black owned spot....but I will no longer patronize this establishment because of the surprises that came with the charges for the food and alcoholic beverages. There are other establishments (black owned or not) that do happy hour during the week that don't pull stunts like this... I learned that a Ghanaian man owned it and I wanted to support a fellow African and black owned business but mmm mmm I will NOT be coming back. Go here if you got money to blow... you get food worth maybe $30 but the bill ends up being $45-$50 for example. NOPE...
