Really tasty food and great service. Stopped here before a concert for dinner with my family and it was the perfect spot to wait until doors opened.

Stopped here for an early dinner today while visiting the area and loved it. The food was excellent, and the beer (brewed on site) was fresh and tasty. They even brew their own root beer, which was outstanding! The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming.

Excellent selection of beer and seafood! The dessert is also a must try. I'd come back again since this was my first time here!

Very busy spot!! Packed with patrons! Was waited on promptly and ordered the crab cake sandwich. Was made good and done well. Get there early the place packs them in pretty well!!

Jen served us on Saturday on the patio & she killed it! Her customer service was nothing short of amazing. Her knowledge of the menu. Her description of the dish I wanted just made me melt. Everything tasted delicious. We didn’t feel rush at all. I Love her personality. Thank you for having us. We can’t wait to visit again.

Our clan arrived for a mid-day festival of appetizers and they were delish!!!! We shared crab cakes and calamari…so good we ordered seconds. We shared two orders fresh perch fillets and they came with salad and the best fries we have ever had. These fries were truly fantastic. They specialize in craft beer and everybody enjoyed their brew. I however, swear by their homemade root beer. Our waitress was super and the service was surprisingly fast. We sat at the window in the bar. I have eaten there before and all the food is chef quality. Don’t miss out. This is a must stop. They have the greatest Shrimp Scampi. 🍤

It was a Friday night, 6:45-ish, and our first two restaurant picks had 1-hour waits. We called Lily's and were told we had 15 minutes to get a table for 3 (wife, son, and myself) before they got busy. We were there in 7. In a nutshell we were super impressed. Service was quick and friendly (the waitress actually cleared plates from the table throughout the dinner), and the food was great. Lily's just moved up our list to #1 for our regular Friday night outings. For appetizers we had the Creole soup and New England clam chowder. We would recommend both. I can't tell you for certain there's a hint of nutmeg in the chowder, but my wife is certain. I just thought it tasted fantastic. For dinner we had blackened-cod fish tacos, the Hickory Charred Salmon w/ Tarragon Mustard (wife substituted garlic-sautéd spinach), and the North Shore Seafood Pasta. All three dishes were great. I think I was the winner with the North Shore pasta. Shrimp, mussels, and scallops in a decadent white wine cream sauce. WOW. I was the only one that didn't have left-overs. Having not been there in years, for dessert we ordered the beer-battered brownie with Ray's vanilla ice cream, whip cream, and a raspberry sauce we didn't intend to finish. But we did. My only explanation is there were three of us and it was a really, really good. We'll be visiting Lily's way more often. Update 5/3/2024 Another great visit -- still surprised Lily's has such great chips and salsa. Added pictures for the Garlicky Shrimp Scampi. It tasted terrific and we're glad it came with grilled bread because it's criminal to waste the sauce. The New England Clam Chowder tasted terrific again. I recommend the kitchen stir the soup before serving to remove the skin that forms on top (you can see it in the picture). This happens at home, too, which is why I stir before serving guests. The star of the Cesar salad was the sesame crusted chicken. The star of the show should have been the Cesar dressing, but the dressing lacked the personality that anchovies give bring. If you order it, I recommend asking for additional dressing on the side.

I dined outside where I could enjoy the active summer night in Royal Oak. Every person I interacted with, from hostess to multiple waiters, were friendly and made sure my party was well attended to. The food came out so fast. I really applaud their kitchen staff because the restaurant was busy. Don’t sleep on the beer here! They’re ahead of their time with brewing beer and they know a thing or two. I enjoyed their IPA.

Lily's is a perfect place for families and date night. They brew their own beer so you get to try something new. I had the Cranberry gin fiz which was the perfect amount of cranberry and not overpowering. We started with Calamari and it was delicious the chopped hot peppers are the perfect amount of spice. They put the sauce on the bottom of the plate so you have plenty of it! I had the pastrami smoked salmon Ruben. I'm a sucker for a Ruben and this one was so unique and flavorful. They use a homemade slaw that's more of a vinegar based instead of mayonnaise. It was very good, I will definitely be back

We had gone to Lily's many times when it was new and we lived nearby. Hadn't been there for years and decided to celebrate my wife's birthday there. We had a great time. Our server Jen was great. There were about eight birthdays being celebrated tonight! Food and service were great. After dinner, we went to the bar for an after dinner coffee drink. Met Susan and her son Carson. Great fun! Her other son is in charge of the beer brewing at Lily's. Such a fun vibe at the bar! Can't wait to return!

Lily's Signature Seared Sesame Tuna is the bomb dot com!!! My husband and I discovered this gem one year ago and we never stray away from ordering the seared sesame tuna cooked rare. They offer other types of cooks as well but we always prefer rare for the most tender and juicy taste. Since last year, they changed the coating of the tuna, which is now breaded and crunchy with a light coat of sesame seeds and drizzled with a delicious sauce similar to teriyaki. It is served on a generous bed of rice and cooked vegetables. We love this dish so much and always leave feeling completely stuffed! We also really enjoy their calamari as an appetizer. It is crispy with a tasty spicy aoli sauce and bed of banana peppers. The service here is typically fast. We are usually in and out within 1 to 1.5 hours on a busy Friday night. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable about their menu. We love the fish tank room decors and ambiance in the restaurant. It feels like we are eating by the sea! There is paid street parking available close by. Currently, street parking in this area requires your car to be backed into the parking spot. Overall, this is a top-notch seafood restaurant with delicious, fresh food, excellent service, and a great dining experience!

Went here with my daughter and my granddaughter for Father's Day... The food was amazing as it always is. The aquariums filled with esoteric fish and the well-dressed dining room made for an exquisite ambience. The wait staff was well informed and very friendly. All in all it made for an excellent dining choice. I highly recommend the shrimp scampi..

Okay. Bottom line is the food here is bad. The cocktail I ordered (there are multiple cocktail menus for some reason but nothing was very appealing?) was cloyingly sweet and didn't taste like there was much alcohol at all, and it was mostly ice. The spinach artichoke dip was gross. Like, tasted cardboardy and bland and the chips tasted like they were fried in oil that had spoiled. I don't know how you mess up dip that is primarily baked cheese (inherently delicious!) but it was so bad we only ate maybe a quarter of it out of a sense of duty to waste less. My shrimp and scallops scampi dish was...not scampi? The seafood is swimming in an odd cream sauce with bell peppers in it. Nothing really provided to soak up the sauce with, not that I wanted to. The vegetable side was mushy and bland. The potatoes were the most edible thing on the plate. The only reason for two stars was because our server was very nice and hustling with how busy it was. She understood we had a show to get to and was very accommodating. I was very disappointed with the quality of food here for the price we paid -- way too much. I would not go back again.

Went to Lily's for lunch in July, they opened the doors promptly @11 It was raining but their very nice outdoor seating has umbrella's and they said they would service us regardless of if we chose to dine there. Sat indoors instead, they have nice high top tables charming booths. They also have intriguing fish aquariums at the back of the restaurant. Started with the Painkiller cocktail, it taste like Bailey's of which I love! Had the Clam Chowder (bowl), it was chunky and very tasty. Followed that up with the Crabcake app. they were very moist and delicious, so much so I ordered the Crabcake Dinner so I could enjoy more of it but as a different presentation of food. Washed it down with a Brillo and some Wheat Ale. All the staff were great!, especially Susan our server

I've here before and enjoyed everything. I had cracker crusted perch this time. Normally I don't get perch because they never cook it well. It's always flat and thin. Lily's came out like a fish & chip cod! Meaty and delicious! Best perch I've had in several years!

It's been a year since I have been here. I was there last night with my boyfriend.They sat us right away.. Our waitress was very knowledgeable .. Both of ours was delicious.I had the smoked salmon reuben, and it was incredible. The food never disappoints.. We will be back positive feedback all around... 5 stars

I have been to this spot a couple of times and there has never been a miss. The service and smiles are beyond wondeful. The food and drinks are phenominal. This time I ordered the New York Strip that was running as a special. It was tender, flavorful and beyond delicious. Also we had the fried pickle spears. Amazing! We ordere the Pomegranate Martinis that were perfect. I asked for less simple syrup. Delicious. Our server's name was Jenny amd she was bomb; very patient and helpful.

I really enjoyed the many aquariums, prompt service, and well balanced dishes. The only thing that could have made the experience better is sound absorbing materials in the ceiling.

Always a good meal here at a reasonable price. Many choices of beer if that's of interests to you. If you try to get in before an even downtown, come early. One minor miss giving is they do not offer a ranch dressing on the side. Staff has always been friendly, helpful and very easy to talk/deal with. Even though it can get full its still not noisy. Its relaxed and pleasant I've become REGULAR

My husband and I thought we would eat dinner in Royal Oak since we were on our way to Mark Ridley's Comedy Castle. We chose to dine in at Lily's Seafood. Now we've dined there before, but this experience was "different". Our server's name is "Darrin". He made the experience "extra special". Darrin was most attentive, very kind and considerate, and most of all "sincere". Now let's talk about the "scrumptious food". We both ordered crab cakes as appetizers, and crab legs with veggies as our entree. It was superb.............

Just had a quick drink here. Decoy Chardonnay was good, as was the Hendrix and tonic. Bartender had a passion for brewing beer and was attentive.

We visited during happy hour. The shrimp Caesar and ale battered shrimp were perfect small plates before a movie. We also had the pomegranate cosmos. Service was great!

The atmosphere was delightful. I sat & watched the activity in downtown Royal Oak. The drinks were good & the waitress was very friendly. So, if you are just wanting to go out for drinks & people watching this is perfect. Make sure you sit in the window or outside for that. Unfortunately, the food was not good. I ordered an appetizer that came about a minute before my entree. The appetizer was a crab cakes. Day old at best, deep fried at least twice, the very center was tasty, but that is pretty poor. The aroma from the crab cakes was heavy, old grease. They say they will cook to order. It was not cooked to my request. The roasted red potatoes must have been left over from a previous day or two. They were greasy & completely the wrong color for any potato wedge. It is slightly pricey, not a problem if food is edible. If it helps, I was there on a Monday night. Not always the best night to go out, but food should always be fresh. Hope this helps if you are looking for a place to dine or just have a drink.

Hidden gem of this block. Hands down mussels. I didn't care for the blue cheese that came with it but the broth was so darn good. I had two wine flights both were so refreshing and tasty. Must try!

Everything was super good. We were 9 people for the birthday of two of our group I had the encrusted white fish and dinner salad. Our waiter was very competent and did a very good job because the place was packed to the gills and because we were all 80 or more it was very loud and hard to hear Ray *

The food was okay at best, got the calamari, fried chicken sandwich and clam chowder. All of them were pretty bad to be honest. Drinks weren't good either unfortunately. Wait staff was lovely.

Lily's is a very pleasant and comfortable place to dine. I went for dinner. Staff is great. Food is ok, but not worth the menu prices in my opinion. Didn't like the calamari at all. Not much food on the plate. Great desserts. Good coffee. Clean bathrooms.

Soooooooo I really wanted to love this but it fell short in a few areas. Customer service: Great. No complaints here Food: Just okay. I'm from Maryland. When you but Maryland crab cakes on the menu, just bringing in your crab meat from Maryland is NOT enough to call it that. This was tasty, but an overall disservice to anything resembling a true Maryland crab cake. The salmon rueben though was delicious and well done. Perfect flavor and textures. Perfect sweet potato fries. Definitely a crowd favorite. Do recommend. Would I come back to try other things? Strong maybe.

My wife and walked in for the first time to this place. We were quickly seated. On a Sunday afternoon it wasn't busy. Kayla waited on us. She was very polite and attentive to our eating orders. The food came out in in a timely manner and was hot to the touch! We ordered to specialty drinks. They were good too. We'll come back another day.

A 5 star experience for a great spot! The service was outstanding. The food was great and the chowder, mhmmmmmmm! Can't wait to come back and experience what every venue should be striving for - great food with outstanding service.

We've been going to lily's forever. Awesome place, awesome owners, amazing food, everything. Covid put the hit on every restaurant, and the specials here were a bit on hiatus, but they're back, baby! Can't be happier. Amazing choices, fresh, innovative, can't say enough.

Maybe it was just the dishes we got but we weren't impressed. Fried pickles were good, batter light but crispy. The Brie was delicious and so was the salmon cream cheese. The apps were probably our favorite. I got the crab cake dish and it was meh. Pretty sure the rice they served with it is a Ricearoni packet or something like it while the vegetables were bland.

Always a great place to be! Consistent food, great staff, cozy inside and lovely patio outside!

Jokingly went to the restaurant because it's our daughters name and I have a gluten-free requirement. The restaurant was nice, clean, unique and had GREAT FOOD. Appetizer (Artichoke Dip), entre (Tuna w/ Jasmine-rice & veggies) & Dessert (Key-Lime Cheesecake) were all AMAZING!! Especially that Key-Lime Cheesecake Definitely a must try restaurant! Will not disappoint.

Food is amazing will keep coming here. I love the fish. The service is great. I've been here a couple of times and it's fantastic.

Our server was nice. I went there for the first time the other day with some friends and found hair in my clam chowder soup. I couldn't finish the rest after that.

Saw the good ratings and entrees here on Yelp, so I had to try. I was not disappointed. Great service, good menu selection and timely production. I had the Hickory Salmon with tarragon mustard. It was perfectly cooked for me at medium. My wife would like it a bit more rare. I wanted to mark it down for leaving the skin on but it was too good.

I decided to give this place a try as the outside patio area looks adorable and comfy, especially with the big umbrellas during the beautiful Michigan weather. Although it was a little chilly, I sat outside and despite this, the waitress and service was excellent. The waitress was quite knowledgeable about the menu which is always a good sign. As an appetizer, the calamari was great! I loved the spicy Mayo like sauce on the bottom of the plate. The sandwiches were not as great as the calamari. First, seasoned fries here just means salt and pepper added to the fries which is literally just normal fries. Both burgers had a really squishy and mushy texture. If that is something that is appealing, it's a great sandwich otherwise... it's very monotoned in flavor. Finally the crab cakes in the burger had a variety of ingredients inside the cake such as a very large tomato. It was overall more other stuff that crab which was a let down. The tortilla chips were just subpar. Nothing exciting about that. Overall, it was an ok meal however I'm not sure if I would go back.

I highly recommend their North Shore Seafood Pasta! So delicious! I was skeptical at first but super glad I ordered it because it was delicious. The service was good and ambiance was lovely. Boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day and it didn't disappoint!

Came for my mom's birthday and a few other times. Good food, good service. Little pricey but hey, it's seafood so you should expect it.

Kitchen closes at 9pm but they were more than willing to still seat us at 8:35. Service was great, food was excellent and hot.

Service is awful: I sat in the bar area for over an hour without anyone even asking me if I wanted anything to eat. The hostess came over and took my menu from me. WTF?!?!? I finally ordered and the waitress was surprised that I wanted to order food. The food is decent but don't come for the service!

I made a reservation here for 730pm on Vday. They didn't mention that their kitchen closed at 8pm. The place was packed. We place our order at 755 and the food was already there at 815. Speedy meal. Better for happy hour because I've never heard of a restaurant closing their kitchen at 8pm on a holiday! Food was fine, service was ok. They didn't even offer us dessert. We had to go elsewhere.

Reliably delicious and great service. Generous portions and the food is always tasty here. The casual atmosphere makes it feel accessible at all time's. It's a neighborhood staple.

Second round of in person dining is in effect and what does Lilys do? They set up a tent to accommodate outdoor dining and I am here for it! Tables in the tent are spaced at least 6 ft apart according to social distancing guidelines. Servers all wear masks while also delivering attentive and friendly service. I could see our server's authentic bright smile beaming through her mask as she took care of us. The food and drinks are good. The menu is expansive, especially since many restaurants have limited menus during the covid pandemic. As far as drinks go, we sampled premium sipping tequila, framboise ale and Johnny walker hot toddies. On the food side of things we chose crab cakes, garlicky shrimp scampi (yum!), seasoned fries, and creole soup. The house bread basket was an extra nice treat.

I've been here a few times, pre-covid & post-covid. My most recent experience was nice. Lily's has set up a tent by expanding into the street (thank you Royal Oak), so you can dine outside and feel safe. The food was great, you don't have to be a seafood lover to come here. My bf doesn't eat fish at all but the menu has enough other options to make him happy, which makes me happy because I DO want fish! The prices are also reasonable - not diner prices, but not steak house prices either. The tent has sides on the road side which helps with breezes but also means you don't have to look at cars zooming by. The wait staff all wore masks, the tables were approprately spread out. They don't take reservations, but you can call ahead and put your name on the wait list.

Best service. Our server was so amazing. The food was life changing, AND the prices were great!

Tasty Great Cod and potatoes. ( maybe a little to salty for me ,but good), salad great . Waitress was friendly and attentive. Loved the jolly atmosphere. The seats are plentiful. If you like noise and fun and friendly people a must.

My wife and I had dinner at Lily's with a friends we have not seen in a long time last night (Sat.) and it was one of the best seafood meals I've ever had. I had one of their specials which was a Kingclip broiled served with a buttery cream sauce and mashed potatoes and as the chef said, it tastes a lot like monkfish. Kingclip is a South African eel which I had never had before and I was quite impressed with its flavor and texture. Others in our party also had great cab crab cakes shrimp and scallops and another fish dish. We had the salmon mousse as an appetizer served with grilled french bread and it was simply delightful. Even though I could barely finish my main course I couldn't resist their almond Joy I dessert which despite being full I consumed ravenously. It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and all topped off with sprinkles of nuts. I highly recommend Lilly's, casual but top notch food and service. They don't take reservations for small parties so make sure you get there before it gets real crowded. We got there at 5:30 and the place was nearly 2/3 full at the time.

Big portions, great service, cool retro atmosphere! They make their own beer and root beer.

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants/breweries in Royal oak! The salmon Reuben is to die for, along with the clam chowder. I haven't found one thing I don't like at Lily's. Not to mention, they also make great beer :) the staff is very kind and attentive always. One day I'll make it for brunch!

Absolutely delicious!! This is still during Covid so service was a bit slow, but the food was amazing. We came here to celebrate after my son closed on a house. We got the salmon spread and crab, spinach and artichoke dip both for appetizers. I got the fish tacos which are made from tilapia and they were delicious. My one son got a triple grilled cheese sandwich ( yep he is a grilled cheese kinda guy - who Else goes to a seafood restaurant and gets a grilled cheese sandwich!!!!). He upgraded to sweet potato fries on the side and said they were amazing. My other son got the salmon ravioli and he said it was amazing. Would I come here again- absolutely! It was actually hard to decide what I wanted to get so there are other things on the menu I would like to come back and try

Tried Lily's seafood for the first time. The fried whitefish dinner entré was very tasty!

I love this place! There seafood is the bomb! Parking is difficult, but it is Royal Oak...

The food was great, our waitress was wonderful, our drinks were meh! Three first timers and we started with the calamari. Loved how it's served with diced peppers and the sauce was of course, scrumptious. We each ordered cocktails and sadly they were bad enough I wouldn't order them again. For $10-12 a drink, you'd hope they'd put *some* alcohol in there and literally none could be noted. My friend ordered a side Caesar which was traditional and topped with anchovies. She said it was great! The mussels were shared and the broth is flavorful and the cheese stuffed inside is a nice little punch of flavor. I'd definitely order these again. I had the shrimp and scallop scampi which was served in a thin sauce packed with flavor and potatoes and vegetables on the side. I definitely enjoyed it but I would be interested in other menu items next time. The fish tacos looked loaded and delicious. Two would be plenty for a meal or three could be split. Our waitress recommended substituting the cod for the tilapia and it was a hit. Our waitress Caitlyn was super sweet and honest about menu suggestions, never steered us in the wrong direction. They did seem short staffed and she definitely deserves a good star!
