Lima Shoreditch - Review - London - The Infatuation

"Lima’s third Peruvian spot is inside Shoreditch’s Sun Street Hotel. And just like sister spot Lima Cantina, there are classic Peruvian dishes like gambas and bluefin tuna tiraditos, miso sea bass, and alfajores for dessert. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

This is such a great find. Absolutely loved the food (with the notes that indeed, as the other reviews mentioned, the food is quite salty — it was only the case for the Octopus in this instance) The food is beautifully presented, balanced and bursting with flavours. The interiors are luxurious (perks of being a restaurant hotel I guess? 😌), it’s clean and warm — it gives you a comfortable feel. However… the place was quite empty (just another table) and I felt like the service could’ve been better (the waitress was very nice but she didn’t really pay attention to details, we felt somehow neglected) and there was no music or anything to animate the atmosphere slightly? Everything felt quite septic. I would be back though for the food, the fish was fresh and the portions were also not too bad. The lovely touch was that we were celebrating a birthday and they brought us a complimentary dessert, which we loved! (I wish the waitress had told me this so we wouldn’t have 2 desserts which was quite a lot by the end of our meal) All in all, definitely go there for food and maybe towards the weekend for better atmosphere.

We visited LIMA Shoreditch with friends and shared the trio de ceviches, duck and beef ribeye. The ceviches were fresh and vibrant, and both the duck and ribeye were cooked and seasoned really well. Service was attentive and the atmosphere felt lively without being overwhelming. Excellent value when using the Fork 20% offer.

Popped in to the hotel where I discovered the most hidden gem. I ordered a cocktail, got comfy in a sofa and read my book; an extremely relaxed feel. It gets a little busy after 6pm, with diners but that's ok, as the food is worth it. All the staff are lovely. The double cooked chips were 😋

LIMA Shoreditch is a Peruvian-inspired restaurant that feels like a hidden gem. It may be located within a hotel, but don’t let that put you off – the setting is a beautiful covered courtyard, filled with light and decorated with style. I visited for a weekday lunch and, although we were the only table, the experience made me want to return for a weekend evening to enjoy the atmosphere at its best. The food was outstanding. The ceviche was fresh and beautifully prepared, the miso sea bass was a real highlight – perfectly cooked with a wonderful texture and full of flavour – and the chicken dish was equally impressive. Each plate was complemented by lovely side dishes that rounded out the meal. Service was warm and attentive throughout, though admittedly we had their full attention being the only guests. A fantastic spot for modern Peruvian dining in London, and one I would happily return to.

LIMA Shoreditch is a cosy, intimate spot with genuinely warm service and a pleasant atmosphere — the kind of place that looks like it’s going to deliver something special. Unfortunately, the food doesn’t quite rise to the same level. The dishes are alright but nothing particularly memorable, and I didn’t feel much authenticity in most of the flavours. The clear standouts were the brioche and the scallops. Beyond that, everything else was fairly standard and didn’t justify the hype. Overall: great vibe, lovely service, but the food itself is just okay. Worth a visit for the ambience, but not a must-return for the cuisine.

Mixed feeling unfortunately. We were in two and we had few starters and couple of mains. The starters were really really good: the trio of ceviche is incredible and the seared scallop cooked to perfection. We had high hopes for the mains (Waygu and grilled octopus) but unfortunately they were incredibly salty, almost impossible to eat. The pisco sours were great. If we didn’t order the mains, this would have been a 5/5 experience

Service and decor here are amazing. It is part of a hotel and the hotel seems fancy which has helped the overall vibe of the restaurant. We came for brunch and got the morning ceviche, spicy tuna tataki, empanada and hanger steak. Ceviche amazing so was the spicy tuna tataki but there was no soy sauce so didn’t feel right. The empanada was so good we got it twice but the second order had one less empanada and was mince meet rather than beef which it was the first time- very odd. Hanger steak amazing, just needed a sauce and to be cooked a bit more- mash was great as was salad. Guava juice good. Overall bill was £65 with a discount which is reasonable

Food was amazing but the highlight was also the fantastic staff - made our evening so so special! The warm bread and butter was absolutely sensational and was so good to mop up the ceviche with!
