"Limericks is a modern take on the Irish pub, a local gathering place to watch sports or enjoy a cocktail under a tin ceiling and some chandeliers. The usual hits are still in place across the multiple locations (including Chino Hills, Upland, and Downtown LA) like Irish nachos with potato chips and corned beef, and there’s the always helpful buy-one-get-one happy hour, available Monday through Friday." - Farley Elliott

A great pub in the heart of downtown Alhambra. I have only been in here for lunch, and it was a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. All the staff was friendly, and there was a kind personalized service. Plenty of sports on many TVs, but not intrusive to the Irish pub atmosphere. I highly recommend it. The Shepard’s pie has cheese on top, a little modern style, but very nice flavor. Please see my menus as some of the prices are different and the other pictures are old. The Scotch Eggs are only on the weekends (Friday til they are out); definitely worth a trip. Great people, great vibe, give it a try.

The only reason I didn't put 5 stars is because of the limited menu on the evening we went. We looked at the menu online and thought of things to order when we arrived. They were only serving a limited item menu. The food that was available was delicious and filling. The service was great. They checked on us throughout the evening. We did pay to enter as they were showing a fight event as well as football. We didn't mind. We wanted to watch the football game, and the fights were a bonus. You must park in the structure behind it & that's free for a few hours. We just googled a place to watch the game, and a few places came up. We chose Limerick. Overall, it was a great experience. If we're in the area again, I'm sure we'd visit.

Google
Our first time there. We Google searched and found this place. We wanted to go to a place that had the NFL Playoff Game . So we looked it up and what food they had. Looked good and went and checked it out. It had a cover charge because they were showing UFC fights that night, but we were already there so we stay. The place was noise but I didn't mind. It was like a Bar but it was great with TVS you could watch no matter where you sat at. The food that we ordered was very good. The excitement because of the Fights & Football Game was kool. Our Beautiful Waitress was awesome . She was a young African American lady. Very nice and always checked up on us. Making sure we were ok. If we lived closer we would come back again but since we live out of town . Not sure. But we enjoyed our time there. Thanks Limericks Tavern for s nice time while we were on a little vacation.

Google
Cool sports bar and restaurant. They had outdoor seating and indoor. Music was really low so it was perfect to be able to talk while getting your drink on, watch the games and eat some good food. They have some dark lagers there, had board games available for the customers to use.

Google
Coming here for fights and sports hits the spot. They have a variety of brews on tap, they change the beer menu every few weeks, which we love, and they have daily specials Mon -Thurs and happy hour specials. Love coming here the ambiance is cool. This might we came on a Monday and they have a burger$beer special, used to be 10$but went up to 15. Either way great lil special ,and we ordered the tarantula brown ale which so smooth and tasty! Recommend coming here for any fight events, sports, and check out their daily specials! Also they have many other Irish plates that are also rare and delicious!

Google
We had Reuben Egg Rolls and the Irish Nachos. OMG!😋 It's a perfect place to meet up with friends 🧡 Loved the atmosphere. 🍻🥂🍹🍸🍷🎶

Google
Limericks is great! We happened to visit on karaoke night and really enjoyed ourselves! Whenever I eat at a new (to me) Irish Pub, I almost always get fish & chips to guage the quality. The F&C at Limericks was amazing, and the portion was giant! Great food, great atmosphere, fun times. I recommend you check it out.

Google
This is one of the few places you can actually find a Scott egg, I have not found any other place that does it. If you ever seen how they're made it's a difficult thing to make. In addition, limericks have great deals throughout the week, and should take advantage of the burgers and beer on Mondays or the steak and beer Tuesday.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming here for years. We don't just come for the food (steak and frits is our fav!) we come for the service. Specifically from Alyssa who not only is an excellent bartender, but a top notch mixologist. She knows our drink and food favorites as soon as we walk in the door. I love when she asks, "Are we having the usual today?" Always friendly, always smiling and always good conversation. Alyssa always keeps her bar space clean and tidy. She is best in class at her craft.

Yelp
Here for all the weekday specials and they play all the fights, sports games, and Olympics. Great place to WFB (work from the bar) while you wait for friends or a date. Or just enjoy the specials on your own. Monday special: burgers, side, and beer for $20 Tuesday special: steak, side, and beer for $20 Wednesday special: half off whiskey, wings, and wine Thursday special: 50% off tacos and Tequila The service has really improved and I'm here for it.

Yelp
Limericks definitely has their food program down. My experience with their food offerings has been nothing short of amazing. It's not fine dining but they offer great plated dishes that would rival a great steakhouse! The folks working here are super attentive and very knowledgeable about their food program. The service is great, never had a problem with getting sub par service here. The vibe is super lively when it gets crowded. If you come for a game, it gets packed and be ready for a limited menu on food items. People will probably ding them on this but when you have a small kitchen and an even smaller kitchen staff trying to turn out hundreds of plates at one time, you'll understand why they have to go with a short menu on game days. This place is a great neighborhood gem, if you are looking for a great steak, their ribeye is stupid good!

Vanna T.

Yelp
Stopped by for their lunch specials. Heard their food and service were great, but we were very disappointed. We ordered the Cali Classic Burger, Bacon Mac & Cheese, and Asada Street Tacos. Food tasted very bland and needed a lot of seasoning. Since it was the lunch crowd, they only had one server who was running around when it got busy later on. We had to keep flagging them down to get their attention. Their restrooms and tables weren't very clean.

Cynthia W.

Yelp
Updating my review here. Still come here fairly often, and it's always a good time. Although the last time I had their Irish stew, I was on a first date and was so nervous I barely ate any of it. We have now been together for over 2 years.

Taryn B.

Yelp
Henry was an amazing server who helped make my group's first visit surely not our last! He was great at accommodating our group size by putting 2 tables together. The music and TV's weren't distracting so that's a plus! Then Henry helped us navigate the All Day Happy Hour offerings since we came on a Sunday. We got some refreshing drinks and delicious food ~ we got one of the last Scotch Eggs and Egg Roll to share at the table. I also got the Shepherd's Pie which came out piping hot! Upon mentioning food allergies, Henry went above and beyond to make sure everything we ordered didn't contain the allergens. I'll definitely be back with friends in tow!

Yelp
Well I tried them when they first opened and was not a fan, and now I gave them another chance, and I guess it will be my swan song. It's supposedly an Irish pub, but it feels more like a standard sports bar inside. Located on the busy main strip of Alhambra with all the restaurants between Atlantic and Garfield, sits Limerick's. There is free parking in the back, which is good. Service is actually incredibly friendly and attentive. I'm sure if I complained about the food, they would've taken it off, but I didn't see the point. The food here, at least the Irish food, is just not good. Went on a Tuesday night, so one dish we had was the special - a "top" sirloin with a side (got tater tots) and a beer (got a perfectly poured half and half - the best part of the meal). While they can pour a mean Guinness, the steak is smothered in a not so terrific gravy and mushrooms. It was okay, but not something we'd get again. The most successful dish was the spicy chicken sandwich my kid had. He said it was decent. I had the sheperd's pie, which was a disaster in my opinion. It needed way more potato and less cheese on top. The inside was soupy and didn't have a great flavor. What struck me the most and was off putting is that the cast iron it is served in had a strong rusty smell, probably from cleaning products or just from age. Either way, it overpowered the smell of the pie and made for a very unsavory experience. I didn't finish it. The waitress did take notice and asked if I didn't enjoy it. But what can they do. Someone must like it. I don't. Basically, while I would maybe come in for a half and half if I craved one, I seriously doubt I will be eating the food here again any time soon. Cannot recommend. Griffins of Kinsale in South Pasadena is close by and so much better.

Yelp
This place used to be good but the customer service has gone WAAAAY down. I come here a lot and in more recent occasions, bartenders are too busy making out and hanging out with their gf's while being clocked in and working. Waiter's are slow to even come by and sit us. We sit ourselves most of the time. I thought I was overreacting when they took their time coming to our table to ask for drinks but timed it and they took about 25-35mins to come by each time to order anything at all. They'll get us one drink and won't come around for another 30mins. One thing that hasn't changed is the food! Amazing, delicious food! Which is what I would give 5 stars. Waiters, bartenders? You can do better. Y'all got nothing but competition down Main St.

Carmina M.

Yelp
Loved the sliders. The poutine fries were okay. The jalapeño poppers were good. The pretzel was really good too. Great food overall and ambience.

Z C.

Yelp
Parking on the back of the building for 2 hours Easy to find. FOOD: as you can see on the pictures food portions are very big and delicious. Give it a try. I heard the chicken wraps and the poutine was always asked. SERVICE: we were here on a Sunday night so it's hard to tell if they will be busier on a Friday or Saturday. Henry was cool and informative about food and drinks and also he made sure we were all taking care of with food preferences. AMBIANCE: again; Sunday night: chill and less people but I can tell you this place could easily get busier any other day except a Sunday night.

Mercedes R.

Yelp
This place is close to home so it's always a good option for me and my husband. The drinks are good and the food is always tasty. I feel it's a tad pricey but the good customer service and the good music makes it worth it. I like that you can control the jukebox through the touch tunes app.

Eric R.

Yelp
This is one of those places you past by and don't think much of until you actually walk in. Met one of the nicest dudes ever (Bear). Who reccomended to me some amazing garlic tots with my smashburger I ordered. This place absolutely all good vibes and the food was all super tasty. He was patient with us as we ordered too. I'll be coming here again when I'm ready to celebrate something. Cheers to you guys :)

Yelp
A couple months back, my housemate and I were walking on Main Street and stumbled upon Limericks Tavern. We've been back almost every Monday for their $10 Burger + Beer happy hour ever since!! My go-to order is the Limericks Burger with seasoned fries. The Limericks Burger is pretty amazing. It's cooked perfectly, super juicy, and loaded with crunchy bacon and a really good whiskey bbq sauce that's sweet and tangy. They also have a great selection of beers on tap, from local crafts to popular favorites. I found that the Einstock Toasted Porter to be really refreshing and pairs well with the food. Highly recommend checking them out. **Happy Hour Mon-Fri 3pm-7pm & 11pm-2am / All day on Sundays

Franklin M.

Yelp
We frequent this bar from time to time and went back to watch Arizona vs Dodgers and at the same time watch Green Bay Packers vs Raiders on a Monday night. The place was very busy and luckily we had a table for the five of us. We arrived during happy hour buy one beer and the second one is a dollar. Monday night food special is the cheeseburger, fries, with a beer on tap for 10 bucks - What a deal !

Nelson N.

Yelp
As a fellow bartender of 10 years it's disappointing when you come in and ask for a simple request and don't get an answer. I come 9:30pm to see if the kitchen is still open cause i wanna see if i can still grab a bite. Simple request ya? Instead I have to wait for one of the bartenders (shaved sides of the head with a ponytail) to finally ask me what i need after 5 min of it not being that busy. If he's just slow then it's fine, not your pace. But after asking if the kitchen is closed instead of just letting me know know within seconds I gotta wait for another 5-7 min which is longer than you think of no answer and just walking right past me like I'm some ghost, I just left. If the place was slammed and everyone needs something then I get it, other than that I have to let my grievances be known so others don't have to experience this crap as well.

Jessica Y.

Yelp
The restaurant has parking in the back in a structure. Easy to find parking. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. I ordered for takeout and servcie was quick and friendly. I tried the shepherd's pie, corned beef and cabbage and clam chowder. They have so many optuins to choose from and in the mood for some Irish feel it's an awesome place. The food was good, not overly salty. The clam chowder had a good amount of clams. It's a cool spot!

Leona T.

Yelp
New fav place! Their daily specials are awesome! We came in on a Wednesday and it's Whiskey and Wings !!! My two favs Whiskey drink was half off and wings were too. Both really good! The pastrami sandwich wouldn't recommend. We both couldn't chew thru the meat at all. Service was really good and the female bartender made amazing drinks.

Daniel O.

Yelp
Cool bar to hang out grab a drink or 2 or 3 ha nd talk to ppl. Good prices especially happy hour!

Nikki B.

Yelp
I was looking for a spot to meet up with friends and Limericks seemed ideal. However, what I didn't expect was to arrive to a completely packed house due to the NFL Playoff (49ers vs Cowboys). We were greeted immediately by a very nice man. He asked if we wanted a table and sat us at the last available booth. Our server Rihanna was delightful and kept her cool amongst the chaos. She recognized my friend from the bar where he works. Despite being busy our food came out quickly as did our drinks. I kept it simple with a vodka soda. One friend had a whiskey neat, and the other a Jack n' Coke. Our drinks were served in plastic cups, which I thought was odd but it was most likely due to how busy they were. I ordered another drink after the game was over and it came in a glass. One friend ordered a burger with fries, the other had a Vegan burger with onion rings. They both enjoyed their selections. I helped with the fries, which were quite tasty. Limericks Tavern is a modern gastropub that serves Irish & American comfort food. They also have 60 different kinds of draught beer. There are plenty of TV's - including one in each booth. It can get loud and lively during games, especially it its playoffs. There is an outdoor patio with heated lamps in case you want a quieter environment. Shout out to the staff. This place was packed to the gills, yet the service was not lacking. Several other employees checked on us frequently in addition to Rihanna. I'll definitely come back to watch a game or enjoy Happy Hour. (HH M-F 3pm - 7 pm & 11 pm -2 pm / All day Sundays.) *Street parking on Main or parking lot around the corner.

Alexis P.

Yelp
Small tavern hidden that is on Main Street. Very lively atmosphere and friendly people. Good place to watch sports events and the food there-many options to choose from. The Shepherds pie is very unique, never tried it before but very amazing. I had the chicken club sandwich and the choice of bread made it amazing. The servers are very friendly there!

Persnickety P.

Yelp
Great management and staff. They take pride in service and menu. Taps are perfect temp for a warm day. Cops are sniffing about, so plan accordingly. Crowd is solid with no tension. Welcoming to all.

Victor F.

Yelp
We normally don't eat a lot of bar food, but this place was pretty good, especially their daily specials. If you're in the mood for some comfort food, give this place a try, and not just for the beer.

Arely M.

Yelp
Wolf, Bear, Alyssa are the best! Its always such a vibe with them. Food is bomb, prices are unbeatable! ‍

Roni V.

Yelp
Always a casual friendly and a favorite spot with good food which does not disappoint. Plenty of space and enough TV's to meet up with friends for a game. They have an outdoor patio with heated lamps where they set up a TV as needed, they have tble games and is Dog friendly. They have a full bar and offer a wide selection of beers on tap as well as typical and not so typical bar food that is surprisingly great. Daily HH 3pm-7pm: They have amazing happy hour daily specials that will have you wanting to return; the burgers are large and filling, the tacos are tasty, the steak and beer deal is a steal! And don't forget to ask about the Sunday all day special! ** The regular Buffalo wings are good - but ONLY If you can handle spicy, then try the Buffalo Fire whooo! Thank me later! Other food items worth a try: Sheppard pie, clam chowder, fish tacos and Irish stew. Definitely worth giving a try, so go and enjoy!

Andrew C.

Yelp
Food was fine but I would not recommend getting the Shepards pie. It is very small. Drinks were good. Seemed more like a sports bar than a tavern. Servers were willing to change the channel when we asked.

Mai S.

Yelp
Finally visited this establishment!!! I enjoyed the inside and outside seatings. The chicken chicharron was BOMB!! We ordered several drinks and the spicy margarita is on point!! Perfect amount of spicyyyy . Our bartender was great. Fast and attentive. Will be back for their weekly specials.

Flora W.

Yelp
I planned to meet two girlfriends and wanted to find a casual place to talk and watch a sports game. I pass by Limericks Tavern all the time so I wanted to give it a try! There is parking on the street or if you turn to the corner parking lot when you pass the 85 degree bakery, you're golden! We walked in and sat next to the bar. The bartender, waiters and waitresses were all very friendly and helpful. Once we ordered drinks and food, it all came out super fast! We were delighted to have chose Limericks Tavern for a casual night of catching up. The tater tots, wings, and ceviche were all great dishes to share. I'm will definitely be back with more friends for more experiences!

Elle K.

Yelp
Food - decent bar food and I would say it's inspired by the Irish. Service - excellent service even when you're at tables and booths Ambiance - def a tavern bar with sports, several TVs throughout which I appreciate

Angie E.

Yelp
The food and ambience is great. They have daily specials as well as speedy and friendly service. Underground parking is available. Taco Thursday is my favorite because of their savory delicious carne asada tacos. Yumsterville craft beers are great as well as their mixxed cocktails.

Yvonne R.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick drink and football. Place was popular great crowded. Service was quick and very friendly. House nachos were awesome with homemade chips

Robert A.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place a few years now and it never disappoints. Food is good and drinks are good. However, Alyssa is the star of the show! She's always greeting everyone with a smile, making sure everyone is taken care of, and she makes the best Old Fashioned and pours the perfect pint of Guinness, shamrock and all! Next time you're in the area on a Friday night, I highly recommend you drop in.

Matt V.

Yelp
I've been coming here for over a few years now, and I gotta say Tuesday nights have become my favorite! That's probably because of Alyssa their bartender. I love the feeling of coming in and not having to say what my drink will be, she's on top of it. Good humor and great conversations, even when my girlfriend is there Alyssa is on top of it (my gf doesn't always make drink orders easy). Honestly most of the staff is exceptional, but Alyssa is the cherry on top that makes us want to keep coming here.

Winn H.

Yelp
My friends and I stumbled upon Limericks Tavern while visiting Alhambra on a Thursday night and wandered in. Seating was pretty quick, and so were our orders and drinks. I ordered a Paloma, and I thought it tasted alright. I felt it was off though, kinda like when something is missing. I couldn't tell if it was too watered down or not, but something felt off. That night, they had an open karaoke with a live DJ, and I thought it was an unexpected adventure. We sang quite a few songs, and they have an okay selection of American songs. The selections for songs in other languages were quite small despite the songs being queued up on a website server, which surprised me. Overall, though, I felt it was just an OK / average experience.

Jose S.

Yelp
Came in for an LA Kings watch party. Service is top notch! Our server handles the crowd by himself. Food was amazing, the scotch eggs are a must try. 100 percent recommend you stop by.

Brett P.

Yelp
Great Irish place hidden away in a rather unassuming building. Really great service we were there for some time and they checked in regularly and made drink and food recommendations. Had some really lovely deserts while we where will be making the trek out from the valley again

Matthew S.

Yelp
Food is just downright excellent there is a good mix of food of all different types. Service is amazing the bartenders are always on such a good vibe and service is top notch, really funny dudes too. Definitely goes down as one of my all time favorite taverns. Highly recommend

Eduardo P.

Yelp
I have gone on multiple occasions and it is never full to the point where we had to wait to be seated. That being said, it's not dead inside. The atmosphere is great depending on the sports games going on and if it is a weekday or weekend. The first time I went was on a Monday during happy hour so we got a burger, side, and beer FOR ONLY $15! The burger was good and the waiters/bartenders are friendly and attentive to ensure your beer never runs out hahaha. Only recommendation I have for them would be to post the happy hour deals they have which vary per day.

Ronie S.

Yelp
Amazing place. It looks like a restaurant from the outside, but once you go in... it's amazing! It has television sets set up everywhere. Some of the television are even inside the booth so you get your own television if you sit there. Great way to watch sports. Love it during NFL and MLB season. Their food is delicious and their drinks are amazing. The service is fast and everyone that works there is genuinely nice, courteous and efficient

Sam B.

Yelp
I love Limericks! I'm obsessed with trying new happy hour spots, so I don't know how I overlooked Limericks in the past when I literally tried almost every other bar/restaurant on Main Street. Seriously, I didn't even know it existed until I walked right by it the other day, despite having been to restaurants right across the street or next door before. Limericks is an Irish pub style sports bar with THE BEST service in the game, and delicious food and cocktails. Our waitress was super friendly and went above and beyond, as I wanted to try a few cocktails I saw in the Yelp photos that were no longer on the current menu. I was able to order the Limericks Lemon Martini, one such off-menu drink, and it was both aesthetically pleasing and top-notch in taste. I also ordered the mac and cheese which was fire, and the bread pudding which was divine and an absolute-must. All in all, Limericks has everything - great food, drinks, & service - so it really is the perfect local spot for hanging out after work!

Allison H.

Yelp
1) Limerick's Burger The burger itself was so big!! It was so big, even our dad was only able to eat half! I personally loved the whiskey glaze in it and if you love bleu cheese then you definitely have to try this. I do recommend getting the burger cooked medium so it's not as dry! 2) Clam Chowder We love a thick clam chowder that has a good amount of clams. This had the perfect consistency and was perfectly creamy. There were so many clams and also bacon bits! 3) Pastrami Sandwich The pastrami meat itself was not dry or too fatty! The sandwich itself wasn't soggy like some sandwiches are. 4) Calamari Our favorite calamari but I do think this isn't a good dish to eat at home since it does get soggy and soft. I've had this while dining in and it was so crispy and perfect with the mango and jalapeño pieces

M S.

Yelp
Spicy chicken sando ($10 lunch price). This place never disappoints me. This place is better than average, no doubt about it. If you're looking to get a pint and some bar food. Limrick's got it. I got a spicy chicken sandwich. I was satisfied with the food, beer and service.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
This place always have great service, food, happy hour and specials. See attached Jan 2024 menus!

Ollie C.

Yelp
Reading the reviews is both good and bad. Since I would like to try the shepherds pie, but everyone is saying that it's bland needed this needed that. But everything else sounds to be great. I would love to come and try it. I would really love some shepherds pie, but maybe I'll try something else good to know.

Cindy J.

Yelp
Love the drinks , love the atmosphere , and the food is amazing. The asada fries are amazing and the chicken sandwich with the sweet potato fries were amazing. Will definitely be coming more often. Thanks to our amazing server he was very kind

Ruby A.

Yelp
I've been here several times. The great service has been consistent, I love their happy hour prices, and they have free parking in the back. Only one time ever I ordered a clam chowder, and it didn't taste flavorful-- i'm guessing they had a new cook and they forgot to put salt. But all the other times, the food has tasted really great! I highly recommend if you're looking for a casual, comfy, cheap, friendly place.

Ben L.

Yelp
I ordered an Irish stew and Guinness. Both were my favorite combination when I was in Dublin. Staff are very kind and friendly. Food is great. Guinness cannot fail. It is a perfect place to watch English Premier league and MLB. P.S. second beer is 1$ lol

Bibiana F.

Yelp
I love Limericks! They are always open late and drinks are on point! They have Whiskey and wings Wednesdays which are such a great deal. And service is awesome too! Alyssa is amazing so personable and such a great bartender! She always knows exactly what I want and just is super cool. She is the best!

C A.

Yelp
As you read other low reviews, it seems like it is a pattern for this establishment to make bad cocktail's.. i ordered Jack Daniel and coke and it did not taste like it at all. I ordered few more thinking it was just me, but they just tasted very watered down. When the manager (bartender) was informed, he was nonchalant about it. Save your money and skip this place.

Kimberly M.

Yelp
We love coming on Tuesdays! Alyssa has been our bartender for a few years now and we really love when we see her! The other bartenders are not as attentive, and they close early. When she's there, we're always sure to have a full beer, friendly conversation, and a great time!
