First time being at this restaurant. We ordered a deep fried seafood (JALEA), a half rotisserie chicken, and a seafood paella (ARROZ CON MARISCOS) - The deep fried seafood tasted good and not too oily. The chicken thigh and drumstick were also delicious, but the breast was a bit too dry; The paella (they don't call it as such by the way) was good too, the portion isn't as big as you would see at other restaurant, but I would say it is enough for 2 - 4 adults if you intend to share all dishes. We could find better taste of each individual dishes elsewhere, but to find them all in one restaurant is probably not that easy. All 3 dishes plus 2 drinks came in total $99+tax+gratuity, which isn't cheap for 2 people. We could've just ordered 2 dishes instead, but we thought we gave it a good try. Overall, the food is considered good, it is a solid 4 stars, but I won't give it 5 stars. The waiter was super nice and friendly, the service should deserve 5 stars!! This restaurant is quite popular in the area, we were there without reservation, so we were given the choice of either at the bar or outdoor dining spot. In summary, we have not yet found a good reason we would come back again any time soon. if we do, we probably would try out some other dishes and the seafood paella is probably the one we would order again.!!

Do I love fish? Yes. Do I love limes/lemons? Yes. I was looking forward to trying this restaurant which our server kindly informed me has been open >2 years. This location on Castro has changed a few times so I was curious. The sauces for all three dishes were bold, fierce and fresh. Loved them. The fried fish (Jalea) was the 5-star plate of our weekday lunch. Tender, moist, crisp and light batter. The fried chicken was probably the worst (2-stars, but I gobbled it up to get my protein). Dry, stringy, chewy. Yuca fries accompanied both appetizers. The signature ceviche was good but not great value for price at $30, IMHO. Presentation and taste was 4-stars, though. I can see how this place is fun for a friend meet-up, after-work happy hour, etc. Loved the jungle-y bathrooms.

Had a great experience at Limon! The waiter was polite and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Some dishes were a bit on the salty side, but overall, everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Love this place and will definitely be coming back!

Google
Great Peruvian place in this busy street full of options. We went with a large party and got a sort of private space. Service was quick. The food was delicious - the ceviches were top notch. We also did the surf and turf option - flat iron steak with Lobster tail which were both great. Will set you back about $100 per person.

Google
The food here is delicious and clearly made with fresh ingredients. We were seated right away without having reservations, although we had to sit outside because the indoor dining area was full even on a weekday. The servers were very quick and helpful. I personally really liked the Fiesta Platter which allowed us to try a lot of the popular appetizers without getting too full. I would love to come back and try more dishes in the future!

Google
Came here with a very large group, few more than booked but they managed to seat us all. Overall the service was great, she managed to get everything spot-on, though the kitchen was busy we didn't have to wait too long and the drinks were great! :) The dishes were pretty good but a bit overcooked / tougher than I would've liked, the flavor was great though.

Google
This was our first time here. We can for lunch. The food was excellent and came out very fast. The decor is lovely ( seating is a bit tight in some areas). We got a ceviche and a dish. Both were very flavorful and well cooked. Good portions for the price as well. Beer was good, but the slushie was not - it had coconut which was not mentioned in the description. Only downside was that they seemed to be a bit understaffed as it appeared that one waiter was taking care of the majority of the restaurant. It took a long time to get our check at the end of the meal.

Google
Personally I think that you pay what you get. It is not that pricey and it is worth it! The food is super fresh, the staff is great, the restaurant is pretty and the drinks are marvelous. I ordered some chicken empanadas for starters, classic ceviche that comes with chips (my favorite), some plantain, chicken chicharron which was amazing. For drinks I don’t remember the names but it was perfectly balanced and refreshing. I would totally come back to try more of their menu.

Yelp
Had a wonderful time here yesterday dining and hanging out with my family. The meal was delicious, i'd def come back and explore other parts of the menu. The service, staff and atmosphere was super friendly, engaging and attentive! i appreciated how they were constantly checking on our table making sure that our water cups were full and that we got everything we needed. Shout out to Anita - she was amazing, lovely and always smiling!!

Yelp
Elizabeth was increíble server on her 2nd day on the job knew every hot on the menu. The food was delicious !

Yelp
Food is great. Ceviche especially. Service is fantastic. Music is so loud, you can't taste your food.

Yelp
I came here for date night with my boyfriend. The pork belly chaufa (definitely ate a lot off his plate) and the arroz con mariscos (my personal fav) were both delicious! Empanadas weren't really worth it though. Come here if you're craving tapas / paella and looking to branch out from Telefèric.

Yelp
Made a reservation of 8 for our friends bday and we were seated immediately when we arrived. We ordered a wide variety of dishes and they were hit or miss. Our favorites were the trio of ceviche and the arroz con mariscos. Ceviche was fantastic and so full of flavor, and they were generous with the seafood. I preferred the fish ceviche to the mixed seafood as the fish absorbed the flavor better. The arroz con mariscos was filled with seafood throughout the rice and the flavor was excellent. The lomo saltado was alright, nothing special. We were let down by the pulpo because it was insanely salty and not as tender as we were hoping. The half chicken was also very dry and salty. Drinks were excellent and I loved the different iterations of pisco sours. Overall, I would come back for the drinks and ceviche. Prices were pricey for the portion, but the service was good and the vibes were giving. Food: 3.5/5 Drinks: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Portion/Price: 3/5 Vibes: 5/5

Yelp
Service was fine, although we felt like we needed to finish and move on. Dessert wasn't even offered and we spent $130 for just the 2 of us. Would have spent more except huancaina wasn't on the menu, and when asked if they had it available, we got sort of a dirty /shocked look. Peruvian without huancaina, really? And at those prices? Our server didn't even ask the kitchen if they might be able to make some. Lomo saltado was decent but a bit salty. The half chicken and sweet potato fries were pretty good though, and about $20 cheaper. On the side of the restaurant with the bar it was noisy and bustling, but we were seated in another section on the other side which was quiet. Overall a decent experience but we won't be back.

Yelp
The octopus was pretty good. Texture is firm not the powdery kind. Fresh. Paella was decent. I've had better but this is not bad. For small dish, I enjoyed the fried chicken with fries. The sauce was tasty. Veggie empanadas were filled with mushrooms and taste delicious. Brussel sprouts were quite flavorful with the reduced sauce. Service not bad, atmosphere is more party theme. Pretty loud.

Yelp
Come in expecting to pay around $40 per person for a decent portion. The food is quite good, and the atmosphere is very nice for dates or intimate occasions. I will say, it is very loud indoors to the point that I had a hard time hearing my friend across the table. Our food had a lot of rice, and though it was very tasty, it was a tad bit salty and unbalanced, as we had to keep drinking water. I won't complain about the big portion though; it was quite filling. Our server, Elizabeth, was very friendly and helpful. I think it was a bit too much (by personal preference) to talk about the entire menu, but I appreciate the efforts she made to help us feel welcome.

Yelp
I was very impressed the minute I walked in. The ambiance is lovely and lively! It's a great place for date night, celebrations or just family dinner. We were seated in a closed section so it was quiet. Luis our server is very friendly and helpful. As it is our first time, we couldn't decide which one to order as every dish on the menu looks very good. He helped us pin it down. Dishes were amazing! *Marinero Seafood Platter: I think ceviche is a must-have here. They've crafted the perfect marriage of citrus, tons of red onions and salt. Lovely presentation with the addition of micro greens and choclo (Peruvian corn). *Lomo Saltado: love this dish of beef tenderloin. Pairs well with rice, the sauce of which is not to be wasted! *Arroz con Mariscos: muy deliciosa!!! Very similar to Spanish paella *Tres Leches: a perfect ending to a sumptuous meal I'd definitely be back to try other items on the menu.

Yelp
Came here for lunch on Saturday. I've been wanting to come try this restaurant as I've heard it's good. They weren't too busy so we were seated pretty quickly at one of the high tables. We ordered an espresso martini, Ponche cocktail, ceviche limon, empanada sampler and chicharrones de pollo. Loved the Ponche cocktail; it was refreshing and sweet. The ceviche limon was our favorite dish. It had large chunks of fish that was so delicious and the perfect bite. Empanadas were what you'd expect. Was disappointed by the chicharrones. It wasn't consistently crispy. This would've been delicious if they had cut the chicken into a bit smaller pieces. The larger piece were tough and dry. Overall really good and would come back. The restaurant is really cute with a tropical theme throughout that makes a great backdrop for pics.

Yelp
Popular place with friendly staff! Gets pretty busy on weekday. They were constantly refilling my water which was nice. The 1/4 white chicken is not a bad size for 1 serving. Loved the citrusy sauce that came with it. Ceviche seafood was great, loved the taro chips that came with it. Calamari was crispy and the sauce they used was paired well.

Yelp
In reality this is 3.5/5 stars. Here's my issues: 1. Expensive food (we only ordered one trio ganador ceviche sampler and my total bill ended up being $50 with tip and tax) 2. Ceviche doesn't come with chips; it's extra 3. They try to trick you to pay for water since they at first only offer sparkling or still water. But make sure to ask for tap water. 4. Someone next to us sent back a paella rice dish for being super salty 5. We got our one ceviche dish after people next to us who had been seated after us got four dishes. I had to remind the server about our meal, which subsequently came out after. BUT this is downtown mountain view and I'd come back to try more food at least one more time.

Yelp
My partner said this ceviche is the best ceviche he has ever had. I got the half chicken, and I would skip this next time as there's provably more tastier options. The sauce they put on the place for the mango panna cotta was delicious, wish there was more of that. I appreciated how to the T the service was with our weird requests, like taking out of the fried calamari from the ceviche and having it on the side. This was because we wanted the ceviche to be gluten free for myself. There's a ton of flavor and different varieties in the ceviche

Yelp
Came here with a party of 10 for two birthday celebrations. I was looking forward to try the food and checking out the ambiance. I was ready to throw down ($) on a great meal to celebrate. We made reservations for 6:45pm. We were seated immediately. To start the party off, I ordered a bottle of champagne. The server immediately tried to upscale me the more expensive one. Annoying, but stuck to my guns. The waiter, Enrique D, served our party. We immediately began ordering appetizers. Various ceviche and some salads for the table . Little did we know, the chips are not included with the ceviche. Enrique started putting these on the table and we were all eating them thinking it was included. We had two guests arrive late and we immediately shared that it was the birthday lady. Maybe he was overwhelmed and overworked but he never came back to ask for their drinks. After waiting 30 minutes or so, we walked to the bar so I can order my friend a bday drink. Enrique saw us coming back from the bar and made a rude comment. I said the bday girl needs her drink and we were waiting too long. I also noticed that they were singing happy birthday to another person so I shared secretly with Enrique that we want a song too for the bday ladies. Long story short, after we ordered the food and drinks and enjoyed our meals, the song never came! We were waiting so long I finally requested our bill. They ended up coming to sing but the bday friend left already! We all sang and it was two desert plates for each person. We all shared the desert and again asked for the check. It finally came to a total of $701.92. They charged us for the chips that came with the ceviche and the two desserts!!!!!! Had we known, I would have told them to not deliver the chips to our table as we did not know they were not included. We also would not have waited 45 minutes for a mediocre birthday song! I complained and Enrique immediately removed the two deserts only. I also shared our disappointment about the delivery of chips to our table not knowing there was going to be an extra charge. He did not remove this from our bill. This place Nickel and Dimes you. Service is rude! The food was good but the deception and learning about extra costs after the fact does not fit well with me. It definitely ruined our celebration. I really wanted to like this place!

Yelp
Another 5 star dinner night at Limon. Service is good, staff are friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and tasty. We weren't big fans of the Picante de Mariscos, although it had a mixture of seafood which were cooked well, it wasn't bursting with flavor and was more on the blander side. Everything else on the ticket was great! *Try the Flor del huerto (cauliflower ceviche)!
google avatar

Sudhir G.

Yelp
Service was prompt with explaining popular order and then recommendation on our taste. Quick food delivery. Empanadas sampler was great. Cheese empanada and veggie (Mushroom) empanada's were highlight. Any thing deep fried tastes great. But imagine cheese oozing through cut empanada. Mushroom was creamy. Grilled chicken was flavorful. Could have had some more of their green sauce. Cauliflower was tangy and crispy at same time. Jalea - all deep fried fish sampler was ok. Rest all was ok. Ambiance - music and interior is hip.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try Peruvian food for a while and came to Limón for a friend's birthday! I called to make a reservation about a week in advance. We did not have to wait to get seated. The restaurant is beautiful, with beautiful decor and with great ambiance. We ordered all dishes for the table: Crispy pork belly chaufa, brasa platter, lomo Saltado, fiesta platter, and ceviche limón. All dishes were great but the one stunner was the pork belly in the chaufa dish! The flavors and texture were perfection. We also got a mix of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks, which were all good as well. Overall the meal was great. The service was great, and the food was good. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
I have been to this location several times, it's always packed for please make reservations. Made reservations for two people, but had an additional person join. They were very accommodating and gave us table for 4 people. The ambiance and decor inside is very nice and floral. Great place for happy hour or even date night. Drinks: lycheemelon 5/5 this drink was delicious and refreshing. One thing that I love about this place is the drinks are strong and drink sizes are large. Apps: Camarones Crocantes 5/5 soooo good the batter was perfect, the sauce was spectacular, and the shrimp were fresh. My friend ordered a second round to go along with her entree because it was good. Mixito Amarillo ceviche- 5/5 One thing about this place I love is that their Seafood is always fresh. I am not a fan of raw seafood, but I forgot I was eating raw fish because it was sooo good and fresh. Entrees: shared this item Crispy Pork Belly Chaufa 4/5 this is one of the best dishes they have on menu. It's pork fried rice essentially and has great flavor and pork belly is perfection. One thing that I need to note and needs to be noted on menu is that this has Egg. Yes I know most fried rices contain it. But if you're listing off all ingredients on the menu this should be listed also, as some people might have allergy. My friend can't have egg and specifically told the waitress no egg, and it came out with egg. This has happened twice already, so I am docking it a point as they need to be mindful of request like this in case there's allergy. They were quick to resolve matter, this needs to be listed on menu. Dorado En Salsa De Mariscos: 4/5 This dish was overall good, nice flavor, and seafood was fresh. Docked a point as this was bit on the salty side, in a lot of Peruvian Cuisine they use Soy Sauce. Which can overpower a dish and make it salty if used in excess. There have been some dishes I've tried here that contain soy sauce and are a bit on salty side ie there Lomo Saltado. So I have to dock a point for this, as I am not a fan of super salty food. The service here is 3/5 the few times I've been here; it can take a while for servers to greet you, take order, and fill waters. They don't always listen to special request with food items. So I would say they could improve in these areas. As the food and ambiance is great.

Yelp
Pleasantly impressed with the place! The tall tables by the door wasn't comfortable so I'd recommend a reservation to get a regular one. Ceviche is a five star affair. It seemed like everyone in the know had it on their tables. Calamari and fish in one mound and fried calamari in another. There were also two scallops that were on the plate and they were surprisingly the sweetest I've had in a long time! Chicken was prepared correctly as confirmed by my Peruvian friend. It came with two sides, which we picked yucca fries and veggies. Last but not least the corn drink was very tasty as well. Four stars for those two items! I'd definitely came back to this place and try more things on the menu!

Yelp
***4.5 stars*** Made same-day reservations for a Wednesday evening at 5:30pm. It got pretty crowded ~6:30pm. Very nice lively atmosphere. We shared the empanada sampler ($3 off due to happy hour), ceviche limón, and lomo saltado. Empanadas were great. My ranking is as follows: 1) chicken 2) veggie 3) cheese 4) beef. The chicken empanada was amazing and had lots of flavor. The veggie was pretty good too as I liked mushrooms and cheese combo. Cheese was standard. Beef was least favorite for me, the meat was kind of dry and rubbery. Ceviche Limón was fantastic. Loved the red snapper, calamari, and shrimp. I do think I would've preferred regular tortilla chips over the taro chips they gave though. Very tangy flavors overall with a small kick of spice. Lomo saltado was delicious. Fries were flavorful after soaking in the sauce. Meat was cooked beautifully with a smoky taste and was very tender. The jasmine rice was ok, a bit overcooked and had some tough, dry, hard-to-chew grains. Service was friendly and food came out pretty quickly. Our server did check in a lot in the beginning, but towards the second half, it became harder to flag them down. We did feel slightly rushed towards the end, where they kept looking at us as if we were taking too long after our meal was coming to an end (saw another review where multiple servers repeatedly asked if they were ready to order). We also experienced something similar in the beginning where we were asked to order multiple times within just the first few minutes. Not a huge deal, I get they're a busy restaurant and need to keep things moving but just something to note. Would come back!

Yelp
Been here a couple of times. Good service. Place is pretty large. Ordered oysters- can't really go wrong with it. Empanada was good. Pork belly rice was ok. Lomo saltado was disappointing. I feel like it's not quite an authentic Peruvian food. I believe street parking is the only available parking.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Limon is great for a date or an outing with a small group of friends. The atmosphere is trendy, but casual. The cocktail list features several intriguing creations. The two that I tried were not bad. Service was attentive, though a bit cold at times. Food wise, I really enjoyed the ceviche trio with the taro chips. Refreshing, acidic, a bit spicy, delicious. The roasted chicken was disappointing. The yellow aji sauce is always fantastic, but the chicken was on the dry side. It needed the sauce both for flavor and moisture. The yuca chips were ok. Not super crispy. The side of stir-fried zucchini with soy sauce tasted good, but was pretty basic for this type of restaurant. The mango panna cotta was not bad. I do wish the menu had a bit more vegetable dishes and a bit less deep fried stuff. I'd definitely come back and will repeat the ceviche, try some other drinks, and explore other parts of the food menu.

Yelp
Made reservation for 2 on a Friday at 6pm. We quickly got seated on the left side of the restaurant. I loved this area because it was less chaotic and you could actually hear when talking to your friends. The staff were attentive and cleaned our table once they noticed it started getting dirty. Refilled our waters. Ana was our fantastic server! Super personable and offered great recommendations. Camarones crocantes - highly recommend!! So yummy I need another order of this and I don't want to share! Big juicy shrimps. Arroz con mariscos - definitely made for sharing! Great portion size and lots of seafood! Crispy rice and all the flavors blended so well together. Would order again! Trio ceviche (mix) - rocoto sauce, ahi amarillo, classic. I enjoyed the rocoto sauce the most out of the 3. The other 2 flavors were not that great and too lime-y for my liking. Truffle Mac n cheese -- too basic for me. I would pass on this. Great drinks! We ordered the Lycheemelon and Glass Cadillac Margarita. Drinks are strong! Ambiance is lively, great music, and beautiful interior. Very clean. I can see myself coming back here after work! Great for occasions or date night.

Yelp
2 stars rating by Mom + 2.75 stars rating by me = 2.375 average rating. Mom enjoyed our dinner at LIMÓN in Burlingame so much that she wanted to hit up their Mountain View location for supper after our haircut appointments on Thursday, June 13, 2024. Naturally, she came with high expectations. Located at the corner of Castro and California Streets, the restaurant doesn't have a private lot, but there are plenty of spots to park along the neighbouring streets. I arrived before Mom, shortly before 8:45 PM. At first, I mistakenly thought that the open door at the corner where the outdoor tables were situated was the front entrance. I had to turn onto California to enter. Checking in at the hostess podium, I was told that there would be a thirty minute wait, but found seats at the bar for us right away, so chose to sit and dine there. The venue was almost fully packed. The dining room was dimly lit, but still maintained its vibrant air. This looked like the place to be on a Thursday night. Below are the items that we ordered: LYCHEE SOUR - Mom said that this was very good, better than the LIMÓN PISCO SOUR. She fully enjoyed this cocktail. LA PODEROSA with added quarter (dark) chicken - Mom was so impressed with this salad in Burlingame that she knew that she was going to order it here with added chicken. This plate of greens was considerably smaller than the bowl served at the Burlingame locale. This was disappointment #1. The salad was also completely absent of salad dressing; although we were told that the greens were already dressed, they were not at all (Disappointment #2). When we asked our bartender server about the salad dressing, he told Mom that the ramekin of yellow liquid was the miso dressing, so she poured it on the greens. When she informed our waiter that the dressing didn't taste right, he corrected himself, saying that what he erringly identified as the miso dressing was, in fact, the Aji Amarillo sauce for the chicken. Instead of replacing her tainted salad, she was given a ramekin of salad dressing. Her meal was ruined and the dressing didn't fix the taste (Disappointment #3). LOMO SALTADO - As expected, this CLÁSICO did not disappoint. Service was friendly, but they could have handled the issue with mom's salad WAY better. Mom has scratched off LIMÓN Mountain View from her restaurant destinations list.

Yelp
We've been here a few times and have had the chance to try a bunch of different items on their menu. So far we've tried: Limon Ceviche and Mixto Amarillo ceviche - both are perfectly sour and salty with decent portion sizes Fried Pork Belly Chaufa - pork belly was nice and crispy with a sweet glaze and the chaufa fried rice was also great Truffle Mac & cheese - pretty good, simple, but big portion! Lomo Soltado - I know this is a Peruvian classic, but I've never quite liked this dish as I've always found it to be quite plain and boring. At Limon, however, I really really like how they prepare this dish and will definitely be getting it again. Packed with flavour, juicy, and delicious Chicharron de Pollo - nice and crispy & the sauce on the side was excellent We'll definitely continue coming back here. 5/5 recommend

Yelp
Pros: Service is really good. The menu has many options for family style dinner, including drinks and food, so go here whenever you want to splurge on a large event.. I have been to their previous location so it was the first time I planned to visit their mv location. I like this location way more. Decor is really pretty Cons : None come to mind, maybe reserve a table as it's hard to get a walk in here

Yelp
An update: A manager from Limón invited us back for a better experience. So we returned for lunch a few weeks later. Only a few tables were occupied for lunch at 1pm on a Friday, quite different from the big crowd we had encountered earlier for a Thursday dinner. Once again, the quality of the food was superb. The truffle oil-infused empanadas were fantastic, and the entrees were great as well. The Chicha Morada non-alcoholic drink was especially tasty. Service was attentive and informative. We had a lovely time. My only remaining qualm is the Yelp reservation system and/or Limón's interface to it. The Limón manager had made our reservation through Yelp, which meant I received lots and lots of text messages: two booking confirmations, three reminders the day before dining, and a notification 15 minutes before informing us our table was ready (OMG, am I late?). This is overkill. Yelp or Limón, can you adjust this? Apparently only my first name was visible to the receptionist, because when I gave my last name there was some confusion and concern. That was quickly cleared up, however, and we had a very pleasant lunch.

Yelp
I was here with a couple of people for lunch and we all had a good time. The decor was nice and open and the space had good energy. The ceviche appetizer was wonderful with fresh and vibrant colors and flavors. My arroz con mariscos dish was very good but I would have liked it to have a bit more seafood for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to have another meal at any of the Limon locations.

Yelp
Last month I had the opportunity to go back to San Jose and although time was limited, a Spanish friend wanted to meet a Monday night and proposed Limon as it was opened until late. I remember Limon in San Francisco and the one in Burlingame and like these a lot. The experience here food and design wise was really good, but service was extremely slow. Not their fault as there were so many customers (on a Monday night!) that they could not keep up. The noise level and tables being to close to each other and having difficulty maintaining a conversation was another little issue. The food was amazing, we loved our dishes. I only had one of the ceviches and that was enough. Not sure if that was just an appetizer but it was filling and fresh and delicious. My friend did not like that her cevice was smaller than mine and, yes, that the prices are very high for what it is (after all is all about presentation and location). I think they should tone down the pricing but I guess is the Mountain View thing.

Yelp
I came here on a Tuesday dinner for my mom's birthday. We did not make a reservation ahead of time and were able to walk in and wait for a seat. We sat outside as the weather was really nice that day. It took us a while to figure out what to eat, since we're unfamiliar with this type of cuisine. We just got what other people said were good. Took us about 15 minutes to place our order and another 15 for the food to start coming out. Pulpo 5/5: Amazing octopus, easily the best dish of the night. Perfectly good and came with a good variety of sauces and veggies spread around the dish, making each bite unique. I just wish there was more of it! Pork Belly Chaufa 5/5: I wasn't expecting much out of fried rice, but theirs was unexpectedly good. The rice was cooked well and not dry. The sauce they used to cook it was very savory. The pork belly was also pretty good, though some bites were a bit dry. Lomo Saltado 5/5: French fries inside some kind of stir fry dish was certainly new to us, but it complimented the dish perfectly! The meat was juicy and tender and the sauce was savory. This also comes with a bowl of rice on the side. Limón Ceviche 1/5: Maybe because I've never had ceviche before, but it was unbelievably so sour I couldn't eat it. I'm fine with raw fish, it was just waaaay too sour for me and not something I would typically eat. My dad seemed to like it though haha. You can also order chips to come with this.

Yelp
Amazing food, vibe, and service! We ordered the following and recommend all of them! Wish we had pics to go with these but they were all so salivating and eaten immediately... - pork belly with diabla sauce (chanchito a la diabla) - spicy mayo cauliflower (coliflor picante) - arroz con mariscos, which is a Latin American counterpart to paella that I honestly enjoy more than paella - beef lengua steak - pulpo (octopus) - add on the anticucho shrimp (its an Asian Peruvian marinade) - tres leches cake - mango panna cotta Overall every food was amazing and the seafood was especially fresh and perfectly cooked. This was an amazing introduction to Peruvian cuisine beyond the well known ceviche. Peruvian is really one of the most amazing Latin American cuisines. I would not hesitate to go again!

Yelp
Food is top notch--try the cauliflower appetizer, the yucca fries, and a cocktail or mocktail. The only problems: this place is quite loud and wayyy too hot, to the point of uncomfortable.

Yelp
It is a very beautiful restaurant. Service was attentive and polite. Easy street parking. It's been a while since I've been to a Limon. BD wanted to go for his birthday. I absolutely loved their rotis chicken with the three sauces. I don't usually go for anything else except their yucca fries and the occasional empanada or ceviche. BD LOVED their lomo Saltado. It was very well seasoned. I ordered half chicken. And it was just ok. The Amarillo sauce was still nice. But that's the only sauce that comes with it now. Chimi is a small side for $2. I used to love their Chimi but I found it lackluster now. Has it always been like this and I just found a better recipe? Idk. I put my chicken in a to go box but someone cleared my chimi before I asked them to and I didn't want to order another for additional $. Empanada was fine, small. Crispy airy shell, but not the flakey pie crust I'm used to. Yucca fries were great. Truffle Mac and cheese was watery and not as cheesy as I wanted. It did set after sitting for a little. I've had better. All in all, meal was over $100 after tax and tip. We were glad we went but it would probably be a long time until we go back. I'll miss the Amarillo sauce but rotis chicken from Costco, rice, and my own chimi churri works for us just as well, maybe even better.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! We went there to celebrate my birthday:) about a week ago. And We could not stop talking about the meal we had. It was so so good! We had the flat iron steak, the sweet plantains, the crispy shrimps and tres Leche cake. The staffs were attentive and so sweet. Especially, Anita. She totally made my day. Thank you so so much for everything We can't wait to come back

Yelp
I had sangria , crispy cauliflower, veggie empanadas, spring mix salad and pollo a la brasa. Loved everything except that the chicken was a little dry. The service was quick and the ambiance was exquisite.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my mother's birthday and we were both very happy with our meals. The truffle infused mushrooms with Oaxaca cheese empanadas were so tasty! The arroz con mariscos was aromatic, and complete with scallops, prawns, shrimps, mussels, clams, calamari, and fish. Even the simple sweet potato fries were scrumptious! Friendly and efficient servers, average wait time, and overall cleanliness of the restaurant was appreciated! Would definitely return to try their drinks and other selections on the menu!

Yelp
Let me start in an unusual place service staff, from start to finish the service staff and I mean all of the staff was 5 star, amazing, Amex Black Card Level, a special shout out to Tonya and Anna, great job. Now to the food it was all good, my wife and I enjoyed everything we ordered, I won't waste your time telling you what we had, because your tastes are probably different but we saw the food on the tables next to ours and spoke to the dinners at those tables and the feed back was universally positive and we literally all had different dishes and appetizers. Just so we are fair and you know this is an honest review and hopefully the management will read this and make an adjustment the fried calamari in or mixed fried fish dish was not the easiest to chew, it was a little rubbery. That is my only complaint and it really didn't amount to a serious negative on a great experience. The ambiance was really nice, the restaurant was laid out nicely and well arranged. The lay out and flow keeps the staff engaged with the dinners. I can wholeheartedly recommend Limon to any dinners seeking our a restaurant in this price point. On that note it was truly well priced for the quality and portions. This was an all-around win!

Yelp
I came here for dinner with friends and had a wonderful time! The atmosphere was so nice and classy. The service was also fantastic and appreciated that. We ordered calamari and yuca fries as appetizers and rotisserie chicken and rice to share as an entree. It was all very tasty! I'd definitely return here.

Yelp
The Classic ceviche was very good, the rotisserie chicken was kind of dry for my taste . The service was ok, they kept on take all the empty dishes so fast that it felt un polite, when we payed the bill and the waitress didn't even give us two minutes to gather our things and talked us that they have a reservation and they need the table. We sat down around 5:21 and we pay the bill around 6:45, are all the restaurants are becoming a "fast food " service? . I go places to enjoyed my meal and be with my friends, not to be rushed out. So please train your staff to do a better job in that matter, if you want people to come back. No customers , no tips.

Yelp
Food was delicious! My favorite dishes were the pork belly fried rice and arroz con mariscos. The pork belly fried rice seems like a very simple dish to get but they make it very well and flavorful. Arroz con mariscos was filled with seafood and they did not skimp out. The desserts were really yummy too, we got the mango panna cotta and the tres leches. Overall, the decor and the vibes were nice too. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
We stopped by here during happy hour on a Monday, and the place was quite busy. We sat at the high tables near the bar.  We ordered a couple of drinks and a few appetizers. For drinks, we got the classic margarita and old fashion, and for food, we ordered the Jalea, Chanchito a la diabla (pork belly bites), and empanada sampler. The drinks were pretty good--not too sweet. I enjoyed the empanada sampler. I didn't try the pork belly appetizer, but my husband loved it. Jalea was quite huge portion-wise, but it was a bit too deep-fried for my liking. In hindsight, I might order a different dish instead.  This decor and ambiance are Instagram-worthy, as is the food presentation. The staff was very friendly as well.

Yelp
Came here again with a different team for another team dinner and I'm updating my review to five stars. The food was incredible and so was our server. They went above and beyond to take care of us and we had such a great dinner! In addition to what I had ordered last time, which was the cauliflower and the empanadas - this time, I tried their fired stirfry beef, which was amazing, and I got to see the Pescado (whole fish) as someone else ordered it, and they had it this time! Another Coworker ordered the grilled Spanish octopus, and the short ribs. We had a few vegetarians in our group too, and they ordered the stirfry vegetable dishes along with some vegetarian sides and appetizers. Everyone loved their food. This time I had enough room for dessert and my coworker I shared the mango Panna cotta. Let me tell you this was absolutely divine and is in my top five desserts of all time it was so good I was really tempted to order one to go for later! Ha Happy to say this place was a hit with another team, so I'm hoping to bring more teams here!

Yelp
Overall (3.5/5): Limón has a beautiful space and good food. We would probably go back to check out the rest of the menu but the dishes were a bit or miss for us on certain items. Ambiance (5/5): The space is very pretty. It has a tropical feel with all three draping plant decorations from the ceiling. Very clean tables/ seating and the lighting is so very well done. Super casual atmosphere and great for bringing friends or a date. Service (4.5/5): A little slow start but the place was bustling. Very nice server and was overall attentive but forgot to check in on us in the beginning. After that everything was smooth. Food (2-4/5): Ceviche Limón (3.5/5): The ceviche was acidic and everything I love about ceviche. It's plated/presented as a sampler and is a great dish to share with a date. The minus points are for two things 1) the fried calamari made no sense to me. I would much rather have the squid in a non fried form as it got soggy and the breading was not enjoyable after a while. 2) The Taro chips were unevenly seasoned. There was a pile of salt on some chips, and others didn't have any salt. I'd skip out on adding the taro chips Anticuchose de pollo (2.5/5): The dish looked great but the cook on the chicken was over. The dish overall was also on the bland side. I'd skip on this next time and try something else. Arroz con mariscos (3/5): The flavors were good but the cook on the rice was soggy in my opinion. I typically look forward to the crispy rice on the bottom of of pallela's which was not here.

Yelp
The seating area was gorgeous and the food was very tasty. The portion sizes for the entrees were big. The service was great, only downside is that it's a bit loud during rush hours.

Yelp
I am a huge fan of Limon so when I saw we finally had a location in the south bay, I made it a point to go for my birthday weekend. We went to the Shoreline Lake to hang out and then drove over to Limon for an early dinner. I made a reservation via Yelp app that morning and was able to get a 4:30 reservation for 2 plus a toddler on a Saturday. This location is at the end of the downtown Castro Street row and my goodness, it is stunning inside. I gagged at the restrooms and the gorgeous tile and wallpaper. It is much nicer than their SF locations in my opinion and much larger. Though I wouldn't say it is kid friendly, we asked for an outdoor table and they did have high chairs and boosters. They don't have a kids menu and when my toddler asked for food the moment we sat down, I panicked and asked our server what the quickest dish was. She saw me getting fret so she suggested she bring out a bowl of plain white rice. My kid had worked up an appetite running around the lake so he scarfed half the bowl. I had the ceviche mixto which was tarte and spicy. I also had the chicken skewers which were not on an actual skewer but still delicious with the chimichurri sauce on the chicken and potatoes. My husband had his usual lomo saltado and he thought it was overly salted. I splurged and had a glass of sangria which was very strong but delicious. No kids cups so we had to use the glass cups. We probably will limit our visits due to our kid but still as delicious as ever (for the most part)!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here for Valentine's Day with a reservation and got seated right away. Marinero Seafood Platter - I loved both the ceviches and everything in it. My least favorite was probably the shooters I couldn't finish it since it was too sour for me. Everything was VERY sour so if you're into that is definitely recommend getting the platter! Arroz Con Mariscos - This is similar to a paella and was pretty good. It was well seasoned and had a lot of seafood in it Coliflor Picante - This was not my vibe. It's crispy cauliflower with spicy mayo. It was a bit sweet for my liking. Lychee Sour - This drink was so strong that every sip felt like a shot. Mocktail - This Mocktail was sooo good and sweet. I will get definitely be getting this again next time! Overall, if you love seafood and ceviche I'd definitely recommend coming here. Make sure to make a reservation so you get seated right away!

Yelp
Came here for the first time today. We ordered pork belly chaufa and the fiesta platter. Everything was really good. The drinks recommended by our server Elizabeth were great! 10/10 Thank you, Elizabeth, for your great hospitality and service!
