Lim’s Kitchen

I’m in town for work for two weeks and this place happens to be right next to my hotel, I’ve now eaten here twice, and will probably eat here again before I leave. I’ll definitely be back. If you’re looking for authentic Korean this is the place. Everything from the kimchi fried rice, fried chicken, kimbap, japchae and banchan are so good. The second time I ordered to go and the food was fresh. 10/10 recommend!

As a Korean, this place gets my official seal of approval! 🇰🇷 The second I tasted the banchan, I knew I was in for a treat. I’ve been searching for authentic, home-style ddeokbokki forever, and I finally found it here. The kimbap is absolutely massive, too! I’m already planning my next visit to tackle the rest of the menu.

Came here for a quick team lunch and enjoyed how cozy it was! Good: - Good portion sizes - I liked the jjajyeon noodles a lot - great texture and also huge portion size - The kimbap was good but a bit flavorless - The kimchi pancake was super tasty! - Good value and the staff were nice Bad: - Took a bit for the food to all come out - The banchan was a bit small Overall this was a cute place tucked away and would try more stuff here.

As someone from Korea, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. I live nearby and often stop by for dinner on my way home from work. I've tried many of the different dishes on their menu, and they are surprisingly delicious. I was especially blown away by the Kimchi Jjigae; it was made the way my mother used to make it back in Korea, with pork and glass noodles (dangmyeon). This little jewel of a restaurant is so much better than most restaurants in K-Town that only sell inauthentic and expensive Korean food.

I ordered tofu stew with beef. It’s very delicious. Quite authentic Korean flavour. The waitress was very friendly. I strongly recommend this place. I will definitely go there again!

I use to always get take out from here, and ordered through uber eats. I got the kimchi fried rice. I was expected spam with my rice since that’s what uber eats said it comes with but instead they have bacon pieces. I’m not a fan of bacon so I do feel like my meal was a little ruined, had they updated their menu on uber eats I would’ve gotten something else…

Uber eats this place. And do it in quantity. It’s fun and they have a great variety

The best Korean restaurant in Murray Hill hands down!!! My Korean partner swears by this restaurant. Super authentic and great way to support mom and pop stores. Best kimbap, japchae, fried chicken and soondubu. I ordered several times on Ubereats and they always deliver way faster than expected and the food is always hot. You can feel the authenticity in the food, everything freshly made. Strongly recommend!

Place was nice and cozy on a cold day. We got the tofu stew and shrimp tempura gimbap, which was honestly the best gimbap I've ever had. Service was nice as well!

Really cute small place, owned by very nice Koreans. Love the food! Ordered the tteokbokki, ginmari and kimbap. Everything was top tier. Thankfully it's close to my job too so I will be frequenting!

Walked past Lim's many times since its recent opening. Today we got to try it for lunch midweek. There was one table of 8 when we arrived so ordering was easy and fast. By the time we left there were 6 other tables taken. The decor is stark but very clean. The host greeted us warmly. We tried the pork and vegetable fried dumplings and avocado kimbap. Then we had the japchae and the udon. All the food was very good. The broth in the udon was very rich in depth and very flavorful. We will definitely like to try new things on the menu when we return.

Slightly off the beaten path but i think that's what makes the location perfect. Relatively spacious and a bit empty when we went so we got seated easily. Got to try the army stew and yukgaejang and both were quite good. The army stew in particular has all the noodles on top (pictured), which i thoroughly enjoyed since it prevented the noodles from getting overcooked AND you could see how abundant it was. There was no (discernable) cheese so that was a bit disappointing. Since it's more of a bunshik vibe than a regular restaurant, don't expect the traditional number / array of side dishes!

Fast takeout lunch spot that is not super busy unlike other places in the area. The inside is very clean and peaceful though if you choose to dine in. The decor is very minimalist with soft lighting. Bulgogi kimbap ($14) tasted freshly made compared to other ones I have had nearby. I think there was fish cake inside which I love. Service was very fast. I got my takeout order within 5 minutes. The server/host was friendly. Will come back to try other items on the menu.

Pros: Food came fairly quick. The place was spotless, very clean. Cons: I ordered the Japchae with bulgogi. This is a dish I love and have gotten many places. Often it comes with different sauces, and has cooked spinach and other veggies. Lim's Kitchen version was not super tasty, I was a bit disappointed. Not enough taste or sauce, no grilled flavor, no spinach, not enough veggies. Noodles were cooked correctly though, not tough or too soft. The dish needs some flavor & texture.

I've only ordered takeout from here but the food is incredible! I love their seafood tofu soup which comes with so much seafood - mixture of clams, mussels and shrimp, and a generous portion of tofu. Their kimbaps are great too, would pick the spicy pork over beef!

The food from this place was almost inedible. I thought it would be like all the other Korean restaurants in this city, but it tasted like food I would expect from a Korean 7-11 or gas station. I ordered delivery and the promo picture of the Seafood pancake shows big pieces of shrimp and lots of vegetables, but in reality it was the worst Seafood pancake I have ever had. It had barely any baby shrimp, barely any scallions, barely any vegetables and mostly consisted of batter. It just tasted like bland heavy batter. I had to throw it away after a few bites and I have never thrown away a Seafood pancake in my life. I then moved on to the Kim Bap hopeful that it would be better and it was also the worst tasting Kim Bap I have ever had. It looked okay (well put together), but was extremely bland and had no flavoring. I had even ordered a "spicy" one. I ate 2 pieces reluctantly and couldn't eat anymore and had to put in the fridge to try later because I didn't want to throw that away too, but I likely won't touch it again. The only part of my order that I could eat was the rice cakes with little sausages on a stick. It was OK, but again, it tasted like it had been sitting out under a heat lamp for awhile. I'm still blown away by how bad the food from here was. It was so bad that I would prefer to skip a meal than eat the food from here again. It was like I paid a lot of money and technically received food but it tasted so bad I could not eat it. I don't even remember the last time that has happened to me. There are a LOT of decent to amazing Korean food places in the city and I would recommend anywhere but here. I won't be making the mistake of ordering from here again.

Love this place! Was so excited to see they opened in Manhattan, since I absolutely loved getting take out at their LIC location. The food was fresh, prices are super reasonable, and everything was packed so well (I got delivery). I recommend their yookgaejang (Spicy beef shredded soup) -- I love yookgaejang and Lim's has the perfect blend of spice, flavors, and a heaping generous portion of beef. Their kimbap is classic and always hits the spot, and their tonkatsu (pork cutlet) was perfectly breaded and juicy. Highly recommend!

I got the spicy pork over rice and the sausage and rice cake skewer, and both were delicious! I also got the pickled radish because I thought it would be the thinly sliced kind that you put in wraps, but it was cubed instead. That was my mistake, though, and everything was so tasty that this place deserves all the stars!

A welcomed hole in the wall Korean establishment in the neighborhood. Tried some small things to test it out and we are happily satisfied to try other menu items next time. Employees are friendly! Good for takeout or dine in. We live a 5 min walk away and that fried chicken was still hot and crispy when we got home. This will be a great nearby stop in the cold winters. Pricing was the same in-store as it was on seamless.

Solid new, small Korean restaurant on 40th and 2nd. The japchae, seafood pancake, fried dumpling, and avocado kimbap were all great and highly recommend. Spicy tuna kimbap was good, but I'd try another one next time. While eating at the restaurant, there were a ton of takeout orders with all of the delivery guys coming in and out. The only thing that's needed is more staff since they seem to be getting more popular by the month!

Super clean and well executed simple korean dishes. Service was attentive and excellent. I had spicy beef soup and they customized it to my spice level. Delicious!!

Lim's Kitchen is a hidden gem tucked in an unassuming Midtown Manhattan location. All of the items I ordered are solid. Can't go wrong with the gimbap, rice cakes, and various other stews. The service is efficient and stellar also.

This place is a neighborhood gem and the best kept secret. While there weren't very many diners in the place, it's clear that their takeout business is what sustains them. Great food, friendly service, and clean/relaxed ambiance. Lim's Kitchen is my new go-to place for convenient Korean food!

The army stew (budae jigae) was excellent. Perfect on a snowy and cold day. A nice new find in East Midtown.

The servers were very friendly, food was very good and authentic, and they have good portion sizes. Service was also very fast. The ambience was also very quiet since it's in a residential area and is located underground. Cozy.

My new go-to place for favorite Korean meals on UberEats! I always get a kimbap (shout out to the spicy pork and the kimchi rolls) and an order of sau-dduck (a skewer of spicy rice cakes and mini sausages). It's always fresh, delicious, and good portions! Hopefully it keeps my neighborhood in its delivery radius!

i only go into the city for work once a month now, so i really like to pick each lunch with care. So glad i went with Lim's this month! the bulgogi kimbap was stuffed full, the bulgogi so tender, and all of the veggies were so refreshing and crunchy. Ordered some tteokbokki to take home too, what a TREAT! the rice cakes were extra chunky, the broth was sweet and spicy, and the proportions were perfectly filling, esp for the prices

ordered two days in a row. forget ktown pverpriced kimbap. lims kitchem has all kinds of dishes including moist gimbap so yummy! and spicy rice cake is authentic korean. love the price and the quality meal. might ordee for the third time tomorrow.

My favorite place to order Korean food! Fast, efficient, clean, and plentiful! I love the spicy tuna Kimbap, bulgogi Kimbap, kimchi fried rice, and pork cutlet rice dish! I've been ordering from here at least once a week and it is always delicious! Highly recommend!

Got the Japchae and spicy tuna kimbap. Both dishes were delicious! They were flavorful and the spicy tuna had just the right amount of heat. I ordered my food to go. Service was quick and pleasant. Will be going back for future meals.

Tried this new place in Murray Hill. Good quality Korean food, friendly service. Convenient if live in the area, save a trip to k-town! Will come again.

Such good kimbap! I ordered delivery and the food arrived very fresh. You can tell that it is good quality ingredients. Very highly recommend for anyone looking for great quality, casual Korean food!
