Came here for a late lunch on Monday afternoon. We were the only customers there during that time of the day so service was prompt. The restaurant gives off a clean and modern feel. I enjoyed the photos displayed around the restaurant. Ordered the basil chicken and walnut shrimp, with a side of brown rice. Food was great! Honey walnut shrimp is a dish I would consider my chinese soul food and they did a great job! Also enjoyed the basil chicken.

Tried this place for the first time and was really impressed! It's VERY clean, with modern, pleasant atmosphere. All of the staff were really friendly and kept our waters filled, and dishes cleared, and the food came out quickly. I especially loved the shrimp rolls, the cilantro and dipping sauce made a fresh flavor and the wrapper was so light and crispy. We also had hot and sour soup, fried rice and wrinkled beans. Everything was prepared perfectly and with generous portions, so we took some home, and they even boxed it for us which further elevated the experience. I paid with cash and they made sure to give me small bills for change which made it easy for me to give the tip without needing to ask for more change. Honestly the best service I've had in a restaurant in a long time. Try it, you won't be disappointed!

Google
Food was delicious! We ordered soup and fried chicken. Eating it made us happy!

Google
I can honestly say if you go here you will not at all regret it! The atmosphere is super nice, the staff is amazing, and the food! The food was absolutely amazing and between the 3 of us we ordered way too much but everything was delicious, definitely worth the trip!

Google
Don’t assume this is just another Asian spot. The dishes all punch way above their weight both due to freshness of ingredients and careful preparation. Maybe most critically, the staff CARES. They are amazing kind and attentive. A critical piece of Lakeshore Ave dining!

Google
Definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants out there! I think it's a little bit pricey than normal Chinese restaurants but it's definitely worth it! The staff are all really amazing and nice, they give off a "we're all family and having fun" kind of atmosphere! I think their best dish is their wonton soups, me and my friends will always get that no matter what else we are getting!

Google
Elegant food and setting. Delicious, light, healthy, and made with loving care. The proprietor was warm and friendly while busy with food prep. Hope to come back to try the interesting crème brûlées.

Google
LIN JIA offers a few celiac-friendly dishes. Their empirial rice is delicious, just above standard. The walnut shrimp is delicate and rich. The Singapore noodles are fragrant and earthy. LIN JIA is delicious and I would eat there every meal, every day if I could.

Yelp
I live nearby and frequently most of the restaurants on Grand and Lakeshore. Lin Jia is probably the single best. Try their lunch specials. They are all excellent.

Yelp
I ordered the wonton soup to go and it was so comforting and delicious!! I had a long day and this really hit the spot. The wontons are flavorful and soft- and all the veggies are cooked to perfection. Also has a good veggie to wonton ratio. I added some chili crisp to mine and it was toooooo good. I definitely will be picking this up for dinner again. Also --the staff was really nice!! I had my hands full because I picked this up on my way back from Trader Joe's and the server opened the door for me so I could walk through without a struggle. I really appreciated it. Kindness goes a long way :)

Yelp
Lin Jia is one of my go-to restaurants in the Lakeshore neighborhood. Everything I've tried is delicious, fresh, and clean-tasting (not oily!). The staff are all really friendly too. Some favorites: - Rainbow beef - Salt and pepper fish - Money noodles - Corn and egg soup - Three mushrooms

Yelp
The staff was friendly, helpful and the service was very good. We asked for a few changes due to dietary needs which were no problem for them. Wonderful meal, the best Chinese food with the highest attention to detail and quality of Any Chinese restaurant I have been too in my over 50 years of eating Chinese food! The ambience as pleasant and attractive as well and they were not too crowded which was a surprise!

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice meal here on Sunday night with the fam for Mother's Day. We didn't make reservations ahead of time but were seated right away. The team pointed us to a table away from the drafty door which I highly appreciated. We ordered the scallops with pea sprouts, cumin lamb, fish and rice. Everything came out quickly and tasted fresh and delicious! Service was attentive and friendly. Lots of regulars came in for takeout. The creme brûlée dessert was so good, especially with the carmelized ginger. Great spot and would definitely come back regularly!

Yelp
Back again, I have to say this place still deserves a five star rating. The menu changes periodically, and the dishes are always such an amazing array of flavors, textures and aromas. This was a birthday lunch with a friend and we dug deep and ordered - almost everything, that looked good. We had Hakka Fresh Rolls, Won Ton Soup with shrimp, Papaya Salad, Clear Noodles with Shrimp, and Changsha Beef. This was an amazing meal and the only thing preventing us from ordering or eating more was our full bellies. Everything was fresh, colorful and incredibly flavorful. This place is my go to when I want something that feels good to the body and the soul!

Yelp
Absolutely hands down the best noodle dish in the Bay Area! The dish- Spicy Canton Noodles. I have extolled this dish before, but I need to add that over the years, this dish has remained consistently excellent. I will travel miles to get it. Lin Jai is a contemporary twist on Chinese cuisine and very creative. Service is always friendly and efficient. Usually, I get it with shrimp, but this time, I tried it with pork... just as good. The noodles are large, 'beefy', delicious, and seared perfectly, with a slight char. The other ingredients just add substance and further d flavor to the dish, including the vegetables. It's hard to adequately describe this dish as it is complex. It just does meld so well together. The spicy level is moderate, and I typically request extra spice. It remains an amazing dish. Try it!

Yelp
This was one incredible meal. It is really a hole in the wall restaurant and most people take their food to go. However the food here is truly amazing, so delicious.

Taylor K.

Yelp
SPECTACULAR! The quality of every dish. My fiancé and I have dietary restrictions (gluten-free, low oxilate) and every item was phenomenal. Highly recommend the hot n sour soup & Chagsha Beef!!! Great service too. Reasonable prices & large portions!

Yelp
This was one of the best Chinese restaurants I've eaten at in a while. The food was amazing , and the service was wonderful. All around beautiful place.
google avatar

Debra M.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service. Best Chinese prepared dishes I've ever had. From the salad which was so fresh and bursting with flavor to the walnut shrimp and kung pao, every bite was an explosion of flavor. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
The lunch here was tasty and just the right portion for midday. It comes with a really good hot and sour soup. The price was pretty reasonable and the decor is contemporary and clean-- no dusty paper lanterns or waving ceramic cats greet you here. All in all a solid spot for lunch, but not memorable

Yelp
The food is delicious at this small neighborhood Chinese restaurant. The menu is innovative, different from your average Chinese place. As vegetarian/pescatarians, we find plenty to eat. The food is very fresh, the service is friendly and quick. The prices are reasonable. The decor could use some spiffing up. They have nice open kitchen but there is a counter with seating that isn't used by patrons since it is cluttered withholds and ends such as dishrags, receipts, an odd cabbage, and table supplies. I suggest they improve the ambience by cleaning that up. The lighting could also be made more intimate.
google avatar

Maria A.

Yelp
Delicious! I'd return here for sure. We loved the Scallop & Asparagus dish. Huge, beautifully seared. Singapore Rice Noodles with Tofu might have been the best rendition I've had in the bay. The staff was so kind and let us stay so long. We were for sure the last ones left and they were so nice about it. $3 Belgian and IPA beers on Mondays. Organic ingredients and clean oil. A solid weekday find.

Yelp
Every once in a while you get to experience a great time at a restaurant. Our group enjoyed a lovely meal this past weekend at Lin Jia. The service was attentive and friendly, the food was fabulous and there were options for vegetarians. We can highly recommend the Hunan fried noodles. Beer and sake are available but no liquor, if you're interested in that. Seriously yummy food, and not your typical selections. It gets busy on weekends, so allow plenty of time.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
The food here was excellent. Everything on our table was wonderful, but for me, the Peking Pork was the standout. I also appreciated the fast service and that the restaurant had some sound dampening. The next time I am in town, I intend to return.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times; once dine in and once for takeout! This place is became one of our new favorite spots. All the staff work really hard and are so friendly and attentive. The food tastes so clean and there is nothing we didn't like. We had never noodles, shrimp fried rice, shrimp rolls as take out and the take out quality is just as good as dining inside. Recommend the kfc, hot and sour soup, and a amazing noodle plate I forgot what it was called! But amazing!!!! Def must try if in the lakeshore area!!!
google avatar

Tam V.

Yelp
The food is bye far some of the best Chinese food that I've had. A bit pricey for the amount you get for an order, but very healthy with flavor.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious wonton soup, braised vegetables and noodles with chicken. Entire restaurant was full and fun. Thank you for a delicious meal.
google avatar

Dmitri N.

Yelp
I love this place. Clean yummy and best Singapore noodles around. Wish there was delivery but it's a go to for me when I am in that area. It is probably one of the two Chinese restaurants I ever go to. The food is clean and staff is friendly.

Yelp
Uuuuuuuu love this little neighborhood gem. Had bookmarked it for so long and finally got to try it on this rainy day. My toddler and I shared the fried hakka noodles and beef fried rice with the lovely jasmine tea. Beautiful clean flavors with that old school smoke-y-ness. Service is wonderfully warm and friendly. Bathroom is spacious and clean. First restaurant to offer my child a regular glass rather than plastic cup with straw which i detest - thank you so much for being so environmentally conscious but also for treating children for what they are: capable of handling a glass of water :) Can't wait to return
google avatar

Yelp
One of my go-to places in the area. Unlike most wok-cooked Chinese food I've had in the area, Lin Jia's food is never oily or greasy. They seem to cook using the minimum amount of oil needed. My favorites are Changsha Beef, Dragon and Phoenix, Scallop and Asparagus, and the Spicy Canton Noodles (ask for extra spice if you want it to actually be spicy).
google avatar

Chris K.

Yelp
Cozy neighborhood Chinese with small menu but solid options. Lighter than most. Enjoy the fried fish and sautéed green beans.
google avatar

Martha G.

Yelp
The food was good but the bell pepper beef really stood out - it was well seasoned and the beef was very tender and easy to chew. I would love to see how adding a little spice to the dish would impact the flavor - an idea for next time. The noodles were yummy, the jade chicken was nice and garlicky, and the basil shrimp was made with nice plump shrimp. Service was great and the ambiance was quiet. I would definitely come back to try other dishes. It's limited menu compared to your average Chinese restaurant but there's something there for everyone.

Yelp
This is by far the best Asian food in Oakland!!! Full Stop! If you are looking for amazing food, with bright and fresh ingredients, then you need to try Lin Jia. We get food from them every week and it's always fantastic, full of flavors, and never heavy. A few of my favorites include the KFC, Rabow Beef, and Walnut Shrimp. The food is always perfectly prepared, their take-out process is super efficient, and the food is hot when you get it home. Thank you, Lin Jia for always making such awsome food!

Yelp
Delicious fresh Asian food on Lakeshore Ave in Oakland. The food and service is excellent.!

Yelp
The food was really good, we really liked the fast service, the space was quiet and clean. Been here before liked the chocolate mousse cake.

Michelle M.

Yelp
The best Chinese you'll find in Oakland (maybe even the East Bay). Their potsticker are the best!

Yelp

Yelp
Really good food, local friendly staff, not boring. Always has good menu choices. Easy to-go pick up.

Yelp
This was our first experience at Lin Jia and it was a good impression. We ordered the KFC, steak with asparagus, canton noodles, braised vegetables, and spring veggie rolls. Good quality food, we enjoyed all the dishes, for me the stand-outs were the KFC (surprise bc chicken is not my fav) and braised vegetables. We will definitely go back - next time we'll change it up.

Anne P.

Yelp
Great food! Best around by far! Our favorites are: Changsha Beef and Dragon and Phoenix.
google avatar

Yelp
Always had a great experience at Lin Jia. Both takeout and in person. Yeah maybe the prices are higher than elsewhere, but I do think you're getting your money's worth. Most everything we've had was pretty damn good.
google avatar

Chelsea H.

Yelp
Had hot and sour soup, hunan noodles and pot stickers. All delicious! Great service. Super friendly staff!
google avatar

Dustin D.

Yelp
Turned away because they decided to clean the restaurant with over a half hour before closing. Drove here quite far to try it out but guess paying customer don't matter and neither does hours of service. 1 star. Oh and they have rats running around outside the building. Saw two while pulling up.
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
My family loves Lin Jia! They don't take reservations but we called ahead to secure a table for 5 and they were able to accommodate. Not too many people eating inside but the kitchen was busy with to-go orders. Potstickers - crispy, juicy, delicious. Ask for some chili oil Papaya Salad - fresh, crispy, not too spicy and great sauce Cumin lamb - great taste and smoky KFC - crispy and a good spice to it. Need to come back and compare against the generals chicken walnut prawns - my favorite. The shrimp were huge and stayed crispy without a gloppy sauce. Could have used more walnuts but still fantastic. Ordered a few more dishes that were also great. Highly recommend the crispy fish
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
Canton noodles had amazing, delicious quality prawns but the dish had a odd char taste on the noodles that ruined it unfortunately, other items are probably better. Now their chicken and shrimp potstickers, heck yes! Final, I'll be back but $23 total for those noodles absolutely not.

Yelp
Amazing delicious food! Came here with my wife and we loved every single dish we got! Amazing service and everyone was nice! Will definitely come back again; can't wait to try the Peking pork next!

Yelp
Came here on a whim when a friend was visiting from Colombia. He was craving chinese food the entire time since he doesn't get what he wants in South America so we decided to check this ace out even though he was cringing at the prices. For those of us still living in the Bay it's par for the course. Once we took the first bite, he stopped complaining. By the end of the meal he was saying it was worth every penny and I have to agree! Every single item we ordered was delicious. Nothing was overcooked, it all tasted fresh, even the rice was beyond my expectations! The WALNUT PRAWNS are a must if you like sweet and savory meals. These noods were phenomenal and I'm sad I can't remember the name (I'm sure the wait staff would know by looking at the photo). There was something about that rolled, plump texture that did it for me. Also, I have an allergy to added sulfites in wine so I can only drink organic wine. Kudos to Lin Jia for having a full menu of organic wine! I was so happy to see this! Now all they have to do is get on Doordash and my life will be complete!

Yelp
The best Chinese food I've ever had. The food and ingredients are fresh and delicious and the service is perfect. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The food is fantastic and this has been my go to for Chinese for a few yrs now. But our experience on Christmas was abysmal. We were really looking for to dinner and had planned it 2 weeks earlier. I placed the $85 order online at 4:45 and it said it would be ready at 5:45. When I arrived at the restaurant I was surprised by the lg number of ppl waiting for their orders. In the 45min I waited, there were maybe 6 orders that come out, despite the bustling kitchen. At no time was I or the guy in front of me acknowledged. 30min in, the guy in front of me gave up and left. I lasted another 15 then went home. I noticed while I was there the same 3 orders hadn't been picked up. They were calling the numbers on the order so I figured ppl went home then came back when they got the call. So I did the same. Guess when my order was ready....9:15!!! 3 1/2 hrs late! I said we would not be picking it up. They ruined our Christmas dinner. They should have stopped taking orders. Sheer greed and disorganization. We paid online so we will be disputing the charge if it goes through. I won't be going back.

Taylor W.

Yelp
Ordered their noodles and the stir fried green beans. Mid at best. The noodles didn't come with any protein, make sure you request that ahead of time.
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
So much for keeping myself going here just every once in a while. The food was so good the first time, that we found ourselves back at Lin Jia just two weeks later! So delicious! And the server was so friendly and nice!
google avatar

Philip W.

Yelp
Excellent food! We did "take out." The service was great, Food was hot and ready on time. Staff was friendly and.
google avatar

Susan E.

Yelp
I noticed how busy they were when in the middle of the day on a Monday while we were getting our favorite Açaí Bowls next door at the Main Squeeze and decided to give them a try. Three of us last night @6:30 no wait. Very bright, clean and friendly atmosphere. They were very busy with takeout orders and several tables. They make their own sparkling water which was delicious. We ordered the spring rolls, scallops and asparagus, Changsha beef, salt and pepper fish, monks fried rice, every dish had great presentation, flavorful and fresh. Large portions we had leftovers. The only thing was we were constantly asked if we were ready to order, we ordered the spring rolls first then while we were still eating them the rest of the order was coming out. Next time I'll remember to ask them to slow it down. Great place and very nice staff.

Jessica M.

Yelp
This place is a family favorite in our household the food is amazing and worth every penny.
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic! Enjoy all of their dishes. Can't go wrong with any order. If you leave anything on the plate you are Satan! May God have mercy on your soul. Great service and atmosphere.
google avatar

Tracy V.

Yelp
I've been eating here for several years. The food is always fabulous and the staff very friendly. My absolute favorite dish is the Hakka Vegetables, it reminds me of Moo Shu filling. I also love the Kung Pao Beef. The beef is cubed not sliced and so tender. The KFC , Salt and Pepper Fish, Peking Pork are also favorites. I moved out of Oakland 5 years ago, this is where I want to eat when I'm in town.
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
If you're willing to spend a few extra dollars on some delicious good quality Chinese food with no msg, this is your place. Located at the very end of where all of the shops start on Lakeshore, you may easily miss it if you are trying to leave in a hurry. I would encourage you to stop and try LJAK! My friends who live nearby love coming here for the fresh and delicious food in a clean, vibrant atmosphere. It's not the largest place and it can get crowded for dinner. Highly recommend the following: -honey walnut prawns (gf) -dragon Phoenix -bumper crop veggies -Singapore noodles -papaya salad Like I said, the prices are a bit steeper than your usual Chinese takeout, but you can taste the quality. My 3 friends and I demolished the above listed (plus a few more items) and it was just right for us. I shall return!
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
When I want Chinese Lin Jia is always at the top of my list. We are always attended to by Josephine who is the best and sweetest person, very attentive, professional and she makes our visit. I have tried a lot of different menu items and am always pleased so I can say that everything is delicious. My go to's: Cumin lamb, Changsha beef, salt and pepper fish (low salt), and my absolute fav- money noodles.
