I researched our area for a tasting menu, my favourite way to enjoy dinner out. The Lincoln Inn 7course tasting menu was outstanding. Each plate was beautifully crafted and creative. The food was delicious. Because we don’t drink alcohol we enjoyed the non-alcoholic drink pairings in lieu of the wine parings. I recently visited a Michelin star rated restaurant in San Francisco and the chef at the Lincoln in outdid that menu in spades. I can’t wait to return when we don’t have to drive home in a blizzard. 😋

Horrible service. No TV. Woman that ran it were very rude. Will never stay there again. Did not clean rooms and the bar was closed when it was advertised that you could have nice cozy drinks in the evening. No WIFI. All they are in it for is the cooking and money. How sad.

We arrived at the Lincoln Inn and Restaurant for a 2 night stay, Monday and Tuesday. On arrival we were told by the owner that they were closed for food and drink on Mondays and Tuesdays, nowhere on their website does it state this and even though she sent us a couple of messages to ask our arrival time she didn’t mention this! Had we known we wouldn’t have booked to stay. It is not made clear on their website or booking.com that they have a tasting menu but no other menu or bar available! Most travellers I think would expect an Inn and Restaurant to serve food when you book to stay. The owner then went on to brag about how wonderful the restaurant was despite not being able to offer us anything, which we thought was very odd and adding insult to injury! She had a very smug, arrogant manner!||||We were then shown to our room and I immediately noticed the noise from the highway and mentioned it to her - she shrugged it off by saying “I don’t know about noisy, there may be a little traffic noise”. This little traffic noise woke us up at 4.30 each morning and continued all day! It was impossible to sleep as our room was literally 10 yards from Highway 4 - trucks and wagons thundering past constantly! The bathroom window also looked directly onto Highway 4! We had booked a room which stated “garden view” which suggests peacefulness and on their website it stated that the Inn is “tucked away on 6 acres of picturesque landscape” and mentions the “the tranquil sounds of the river”. No way could we hear the river!! I can only assume that “tucked away” must be a way of saying it’s 4 miles away from Woodstock! There was only one other room taken at the time - why didn’t she offer us another one! We should also have had, apparently, a wardrobe and free toiletries, tea and coffee! There was no wardrobe, the toiletries consisted of one 15 ml poor quality shampoo and one 15 ml body lotion (for 2 of us for 2 nights)! There were minimal tea and coffees and we were told if we wanted more we must buy them!! The room was cheaply furnished! She also said that the room wouldn’t be serviced at all as Covid is back!!! So no clean towels either.||||After the first morning of not sleeping we asked her if she could refund our 2nd night so that we could move on as we couldn’t sleep. She said “you’re not getting your money back”! She didn’t care at all that we weren’t comfortable or happy, she was only interested in her own agenda, being argumentative, arrogant and insulting, and reading previous reviews this in not uncommon.||We were really surprised by her attitude after having such good, friendly service throughout Woodstock and New England.||||Would not recommend this place to anyone - steer clear!

Wow! Amazing restaurant! What a wonderful culinary adventure! The 7 course dinner was fabulous. The wine pairing makes it even better. The chef was so incredibly meticulous to the diverse flavors of each course. I've been to some of the best restaurants in the world, and this restaurant ranks one of the best. I would come back to Woodstock just to go to this restaurant. All foodies must try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed. Kudos to Mara and Chef Jevgenija Saromova.

Such a charming, relaxing experience. Rustic and historic BNB a few minutes from town. Beautiful grounds, terrific breakfast- for an extra fee. Mara the owner is very welcoming and friendly. And gave us great advice on the sites! Highly recommend

It was our first visit to Vermont and Woodstock in particular. I found that the hotel fitted nicely with the historic and nature feel of Vermont. Normally my wife and I stay at a Marriott property, but it was very welcoming to experience a place that really captured the feel of what is was like to live in a house from the late 1800s or so. ||||The host was very friendly and welcoming and the room was nice as well. In terms of modern comfort features, they do have an A/C which was nice for the hot Summer nights and a Roku stick for the TV that at least gives you access to Netflix, HBO, etc. in case you want it. Note though that typical for these places, the bedrooms are on the second floor that need to be accessed with a staircase which is a bit of a workout in case you have heavy luggage. ||||The location of the inn is a little outside the Woodstock center area, but can be reached with the car within 5-10 mins. They also have a restaurant on site with a Michelin star chef, but we didn't try that one out. Close to the Inn, you will also find the Lincoln bridge which is a historic sight and a great view to the river.

It appears that the focus is on the dining...which we appreciate and did not partake. Food is by reservation only. We stayed in room 6. The bed was very uncomfortable for the both of us...we could feel the lumps and bumps of the mattress. It needs a new mattress. We woke up sore each night. Really the window can't be opened due to the road noise but when closed you don't hear it. There is an A/C that helped. The inn is historic and has the glitchiness that old homes have...no biggie. However, for lack of a better word we found ourselves a bit claustrophobic...perhaps it was a smaller than anticipated room with slanted ceiling. The review isn't personal, to the inn owners, just an opinion based on experience.

My wife and I had the seven-course chef tasting dinner at the Lincoln Inn Restaurant in Woodstock during my first trip to Vermont. We have experienced chef tasting menus at many restaurants around the world, and this was one of the best. Chef Jevgenija Saromova is a culinary artist, and partner Mara Mehlman selected the perfect wine pairings for each dish. The courses were delicious and exquisitely prepared. I was not expecting this level of gourmet dining on the outskirts of a small Vermont town. Thank you Jevgenija and Mara for a wonderful dining experience.
