The view is beautiful and special. Easy to get up here from both sides of the old town, 3-5 minutes uphill walk. If you are into Korean series, the Crash Landing On You had multiple scenes shot here (main theme and piano at the fountain)

Lindenhof is one of the most beautiful and iconic places I visited in Zurich. Perched on a small hill in the heart of the city, it offers stunning panoramic views of the Old Town, the Limmat River, and the Grossmünster Church. The area is filled with large, shady trees and plenty of benches, making it a perfect spot to relax, read, or simply enjoy the surroundings. I loved the combination of nature and history — you can really feel the centuries of stories connected to this place, from Roman times to medieval Zurich. The viewpoint overlooking the river is especially beautiful and makes for great photos. It’s a wonderful place to take a slow stroll, enjoy a moment of calm, or watch locals playing chess in the open square. Whether you’re exploring Zurich for the first time or revisiting, Lindenhof is a must-see for its beautiful views, and rich historical charm.

The views from Lindenhof are very nice, but you do have to climb a bit to get there. I was tired by the time I reached the top, but it was definitely worth it. From here, you get a great view of Zurich and many of its key attractions laid out below.

Highly recommended visit in Zürich. Beautiful view of Niederdorf, the east bank of the Limmat river and part of the historic city centre. You can also see ETH university, the Grossmünster, and the Alps on a clear day. There is even an area to play human-sized chess.

Amazing hilltop view of the city. There's a couple of ramps up and a set of stairs. There's a giant chessboard and a play park as well as your view of Zurich. Definitely worth a visit.

One of the best sunset spots in Zürich. Beautiful elevated view over the old town, the Limmat, and on clear days the mountains above the Zürisee. Calm, spacious, and perfect for a quiet break or a golden-hour walk. A must-visit viewpoint in the city.

Lindenhof Viewpoint is just a short walk from the parking area and absolutely worth the visit. The view is very serene, overlooking the river with beautiful church towers rising above the rooftops. A peaceful spot to pause and take in Zurich — highly recommended

A lovely park which is a wonderful viewpoint over the city. Quite busy but plenty of opportunities to take some lovely photos if you're patient.

This hill is located in the the oldest part of Zurich (near Schipfe). It was once a Celtic settlement and then it became a Roman fort. The stone wall of the fort is what you see today. There's more history there that is still being uncovered. Some items found around the Lindenhof date back to the 1st century BC. Today, it's a large park with incredible views of Zurich and the Limmat River. We saw groups of people playing boules in the grassy area on a Sunday, as well as people playing chess. There's a fountain in the middle of the square that pays homage to Hedwig's women who wore battle gear to defend the city during the seige of Zurich in 1292. It's worth seeking out as it can be quite peaceful up there even though it's a tourist hot spot. The walk up the somewhat steep pathway and steps to get there from the city center is worth it. I've read that there is an elevator for those with mobility issues, but I didn't see one. There are benches as well as places to sit along the wall. It's shady and breezy up there. A great place to relax and enjoy the view.

This was a part of a self guided walking tour recommended by our hotel; we only had one night in Zurich and wanted to see what we could without overdoing it. We stayed at a hotel on the other side of the river and walked across a lovely bridge to get here. You start at the bottom of the hill where there is a one lane road. While there are cars (or were, when we visited), mostly there are pedestrians and bicyclists. The lane is full of little shops and restaurants all vying for your attention and money. Eventually you come to a wide and tall (long) staircase going up. At the top is what is considered Lindenhof Hill, a quaint park with gorgeous views across the river and towards Lake Zurich. There is a fountain and old pumping station, as well as some Roman artifacts. It's a nice park to just sit and take in the views, or play a game of giant chess/checkers. The streets are all narrow in this area, but once you leave the hill, you need to find Thermengasse. It is a covered pedestrian walkway with grating for a walkway. Underneath the grating is an exposed archeological dig of a Roman heating system. There is signage throughout the passageway telling you all about it. As night began to fall, we made our way around the area, just taking everything all in. We ended up by the Fraumuenster church and walked across the Muenster bridge towards the Niederdorf area. If we had had more time, we would have explored the area more, but we were happy with the highlights we did see. It was a nice little introduction to the city. 78/2025

We came here for the view of the old town and the lake. The setting was also featured in a scene from the popular "Crash Landing on You" drama.

A quaint little hilltop park built on top of a former Roman Fort. It has great views of the river and Old Town and would be a great meeting place. It's easy to walk to and is not very steep so it's easy accessible for people of all ages. There are trees, wonderful views, and is a great place to really soak the city in. It is also free and can accommodate groups of very large sizes. Also a great spot to spend a romantic minute with your partner. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Zürich.

Small park with lovely views overlooking the river and the area around Old Town. Lots of shade, birds, and benches, as well as various games. Great spot to take a break as you're wandering the area, but quite busy on the weekend.

A lovely park that provides plenty of shade and the best views of the city overlooking the river. Benches all around so you can sit and enjoy the scenery and people watch. Public restrooms available that are clean and take coin or crest card to enter. Centrally located this park is a definite stop on your time in Zurich.

Pretty view - worth the walk. I'm not sure how to rate a viewpoint - it's an overlook of the city but not overly breathtaking. There are benches at the view point and stairs to get up/down and it was clean. I read that this was on/near the grounds near where Albert Einstein studied and taught.

While walking along the banks of the Limmat River, we saw a bunch of people on a hilltop and decided to go there. It's a nice quiet area (at least when we got there) with a view of river and Grossmunster. It's a good place to take pictures if you're itching for that Instagram-que photo.

I wanted to start with the "steepness" some reviews were mentioning about the walk from the main street to the top - it really isn't that steep. Anyone who can walk can definitely make it up with out struggling. If someone's older, on a walker, or is pushing someone on a wheelchair taking it slow would get you up (although there're steps to get to the park and I'm not quite sure if there's a ramp as I didn't see one). The steep part to get to the top is no more than 0.10mi long. We walked from Honold's :) Now on the park itself...we went at night because it was super crowded during the day time and we do not regret it! The view is lovely, especially for people like me who are suckers for skylines. The park is clean, safe, and peaceful. It was the perfect stop to end the night. I hope everyone who visits it enjoys it as much as we did!

Not much up here, as it's just an empty park, but it's historic because it was once the site of a Celtic and later a Roman fort. Great view overlooking Zürich old town and the Limmat River. But be wary that it's quite a steep walk up and down from the old town, and especially slippery when going down in the snow.

An awesome view of the city of Zurich. It was definitely a hike to get up there, but it was worth it. You get to see the city itself, all of the churches, and the river and the lake. A very nice, romantic view.

This was a nice walk uphill, but worth it to see an incredible view of the city. It's located in a beautiful and quiet little park. In the view of the city, it's easy to see the Limmant River, The Grossmunster, and the Fraumunster. They also have life size chess and checkers.

Lindenhof is a square nestled in the heart of the old town, but located high enough that you can enjoy a great view of the Limmat, a section of the Limmatquai and old town, the University up on the hill right across, and the Grossmünster towers on the right. At the same time, it is a surprisingly peaceful location, so it's a great place to stop for a snack (which you must bring along, there are no restaurants or kiosks here), read a book, have a chat with a friend, etc. A lot of people like to sit on the outer wall and look down at the river and people-watch, but I personally don't recommend it because you are quite high up!

One of my favorite places in Zurich. It's a quiet park just on top of Bahnhofstrasse, the main shopping street. The smell is lovely in the summer with all the trees and the view is just amazing. People are playing chess and pétanque and there are plastic chairs to grab or benches. I feel like I'm almost not in Zurich here...

We had an hour in Zurich before catching our flight, so met a local friend who did a wonderful job of showing us the city under sixty minutes. To save time we caught the tram to start the trip at this beautiful park that is high up above the city and gives you an amazing view. Wonderful fountain, lots of benches just to relax, and a playground on one end of the park to bring the kids. It was a lovely spot and glad we were able to see it.

One of my favorite places in the city center of Zurich. Lindenhof park is a quiet little park on top of a hill that overlooks the Limmat River and the city center below. On nice sunny summer days, you can find groups of musicians playing various instruments and singing together, people playing boules, parents with their children, and of course, tourists snapping pictures of the beautiful scenery all around. I always like to pop up there whenever I'm around the area.

One of the best views of Zurich! It is an hill in the old city which is usually quite occupied with tourists.There is, however, enough space for everyone, It is quite spacious and locals usually meet there to play bowls or chess. If I want to impress someone with my city, I usually bring them up there! You can't go wrong.
