Amazing: authentic pan-Chinese fare in the deadest dead zone to ever die. Our best dishes were the Xinjiang Style Lamp, the Fried Loofah with Gluten and the Filet Sole With Vegetable Hot Pot. This last dish is a rarity even at Szechuan restaurants. The fish was buttery soft while being perfectly fried, the mala seasoning was hot and flavorful, and all the veggie accompaniments were perfectly cooked. On this one dish alone, I'd schlep back to this slice of urban wasteland. Our just okay dishes were the Sliced Spicy Beef Noodle Soup (too oily and bland) and the Chinese Burger with Lamb--the bun was perfectly crispy and the lamb well made, but someone clearly forgot to season the dish because it was way too bland. I felt bad because they were clearly proud of their "authentic" Beijing burger, but without salt....No? We also got some complimentary spicy pig ears to try. No idea why, but I'm not complaining. I love pig ears. Still, that mala fish dish. It slaps harder than whatever BTS releases next. Go here just for that.

Satisfying, authentic Chinese food. We ordered some small plates before dinner rush and had a great time. The ambiance was pleasant. The restaurant changed ownership about a year ago, and the service was friendly. Dishes ordered: -Cucumber salad -Crispy chicken -Bean curd with cilantro -Chicken with chili oil

I recently dined at Ling Long Xuan, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The decor is both elegant and cozy, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. The service was exceptional; our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. Now, let's talk about the food! Each dish we ordered was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. I highly recommend the beef with string bean, which was a standout. The freshness of the ingredients really shone through. The drink menu was equally impressive, featuring a great selection of wines and creative cocktails. We finished off our meal with desserts, and it was the perfect sweet ending. Overall, I can't recommend Ling Long Xuan enough. I’ll definitely be returning for another amazing meal. Five stars!

Google
We looked for authentic Chinese food and found this wonderful restaurant. We ordered dim sum - excellent! The chicken and eggplant dish was exactly as we wanted and was just the right spiciness. Watch out for the soup though…. While excellent the soup serving was enough for the entire family. And if you want a bit of adventure, ask for a custom authentic dish…. They will accommodate personal requests and make them special. Service was very personal and helpful.

For anyone who likes relatively authentic Chinese food, Ling Long Xuan is worth a visit! I came here specifically to try their Mapo tofu dish because I’m a fan of it. And I’d say it was better than average: I’m used to ones that are bland, or too oily, or very heavy on the peppercorns. While this version does have sauce it didn’t seem overly oily and seemed to mix well over rice. And that’s all I tried haha - I ordered 2 dishes of this because friends were curious too! If I’m around area and craving Chinese food I would give one of their other dishes a try too. Note that they are currently closed for indoor dining. Parking seems to be street. And bonus props for not changing their name to something more easily pronounceable or recognizable! At least they’re true to what they’re about. — 2025 visit: Good thing I write reviews because I forgot I’d already visited. By now they are fully open. I ordered their mapo tofu lunch size, with a hot and sour soup. The tofu is still good, though the serving size is a bit small for my preference. The hot & sour soup is dark and very gelatinous, with the sour taste coming through clearly from the first sip. Not my favorite version of this classic soup, next time I’d opt for the egg drop.

Google
placed a pick up order for Chicken/Broccoli in garlic sauce with fried rice and not sure what I got but it definitely not what I was expecting, no wonder place was empty, last time I order from here, considering the area this place would be busier if it was better, should of ordered from Lucky Star down the block.

Google
The food here is amazing. One of the best I tried in any area. I came here with my auntie to sit down and she said it’s very authentic. I feel like the chef really put their heart into it. I’ve really enjoyed the fish. Both times I’ve tried the food I’ve been impressed. I’ve had two different types of fish on the menu. Once dining at the restaurant with my aunt and just now as a pick up. The wonton soup was delicious. The guy at the front who was serving us when we dined in was very friendly and nice as well If they are able to keep maintaining this standard and taste I’ll definitely keep coming back and will recommend all my friends as well.

Ordered delivery from here yesterday and it was great! Arrived super fast and everything was still very warm. My favorite of the bunch is the spicy fried chicken wings but all the spicy dishes were delicious. The noodles were a bit bland compared to others I’ve had so I recommend their spicy dishes more. The pork buns are a great value and still taste very delicious reheated next day. The dishes with a lot of spicy sauce (like the mapo tofu) did spill a bit but the plastic bag kept most of the mess contained so it wasn’t a big problem. Definitely will order again and try more of their menu!

Yelp
So I ordered take out from this place, right off the bat, lady handling the phones was so sweet. Patient, courteous and just an all around pleasure. I placed an order for pick up. Sesame chicken - really good Vegetable fried rice- different from any other fried rice I've had but in a very good way Pan fried pork buns - a must Scallion pancake- this was probably the most disappointing. Not a single sign of a chopped scallion, see photo. Took a bite thinking maybe it just tastes good like this? - it didn't, it was just bread. Didn't upset me though cause everything else was fantastic. Will probably just get the scallion beef next time. Cucumber salad- 10/10. Don't miss this as a perfect side to whatever you get. It was delicious and the liberal amounts of fresh cilantro really took it to the next level for me. 4/5 will order again. Pork buns not in photo cause they were in our bellies when photos were taken.

Yelp
The food was authentic and it has lots of options. Everything was nicely cooked and the scallion pancake was absolutely great. Nice texture and it has great quality. They had a surprisingly good selection of teas and local Asian beers. Polite, efficient, and fast. Our server was helpful with suggestions. Food arrived hot and fresh within 15-20 minutes, even on a busy Saturday night. It felt authentic without being overly themed. Clean and family-friendly, but stylish enough for a casual date night.

Yelp
Food (5/5): We ordered the chicken with eggplant and the fatty beef dry hotpot for to go. Both dishes were delicious! I particularly liked the texture of the eggplant and chicken which were tender. I also liked the fatty beef dry pot as the beef absorbed the good flavors. Service (4/5): Helpful and friendly service. We asked to remove the peppercorn in the fatty beef dry hotpot and they were able to. We came later and near closing of 9pm so ordered to go. The food came out reasonably fast. Ambiance (5/5): Nice restaurant interior with plenty of seats that are well spaced out. I like how well lit it is and how there are good ceiling decorations.

Yelp
To my fans hoping for a review of an elaborate Valentine's Day excursion, perhaps something involving a Hamptons tasting menu, I must inform you that the holiday was just me at home, with frequent sneezing and an Uber Eats delivery. But the tears were not from loneliness, but rather the brilliant spices of the Chong Qing Style Chicken. The abundant peppers seemed to set the stage for a detente: stick to the chicken and you'll be safe. But the other flavorings crossed over more covertly, so the chicken got spicier as it went along. Near the breaking point, the deus ex machina arrived in the form of the rice, helping to provide a more sustainable fire ratio. Cucumber Salad Country Style wasn't structurally complex but offered an enticing dose of garlic. Ling Long Xuan is definitely in the "more is more" school.

Yelp
In an effort to try all of the Chinese places in Northern Jersey, we trekked 40 minutes from Bergen County down to Jersey City to try this restaurant. It was not really worth that. Despite going on a Saturday evening, most of the tables were empty. Seemed like there were a good number of takeout orders. The food is authentic, yes, but it wasn't that amazing. We tried pork hock with brown sauce, which was flavored well but mostly bone - not too much meat. We had tofu with crab meat, which was tofu with some sort of crab sauce? There was not really any crab meat in that dish. We had soup dumplings, which had somewhat chewy skin. Finally, we had a noodle dish, which was okay. Authentic is good, but there are better options in Jersey City.

Yelp
Finally found the Chinese restaurant for home delivery in JC! (Would also love to stop by the actual restaurant one day!) After trying several spots, thus one meets an exceeds expectations! My kids love Ma po tofu (but can't take it spicy) so this is one of the dishes that I always try to define if the restaurant is good or not. It was delicious!!! We also had the sipcy eggplant and flavours was spot on!

Yelp
Great food for the price! The sweet spot for Chinese food. Very nice staff, they prefer cash.

Yelp
The lo mein was okay, except I ordered pork and received beef. The General Tso's Chicken was incredibly dry. Shrimp and String Beans on the other hand were soggy, drowning in sauce. I thought the flavor on everything overall was just very underwhelming. Perhaps needed to try more authentic dishes but this was not it for a foodie white girl.

Yelp
The food is not bad, the service is quite good, the price is a bit high, dinner time on weekdays is not busy.

Yelp
This has been my go to Chinese spot since I moved into my current neighborhood. I have eaten in and also had delivered on several occasions and have never had a problem with the food quality. They do well with specific requests outside of their menu options and always have the food ready in a timely manner. Service in the restaurant as well has always been great so I will continue to do business with them as long as I reside in the neighborhood. I have tried some other Chinese restaurants in the area as well but this has definitely been my favorite one thus far.

Yelp
I recently moved into JC JSQ (Dec 2022) and I'm in love with this place. Ordered takeout twice and dined in once. I'm a huge spice lover, everything szechuan and chongqing. I always order their spicy dishes and ask for extra spicy -- I promise it makes the dishes the perfect amount of spicy yummyness if you love spicy mala dishes like me. For lunch special, I've ordered the 12.50 beef with green chili peppers and rice - decent size and asked for extra spicy. Food was fresh upon pickup and hot. Flavor was good and it came with soup. Takeout is always ready on time! For spicy dishes, I highly recommend: - Shui Zhu Yu (水煮鱼) Spicy Fish Fillets - Fu Qi Fei Pian appetizer (夫妻肺片) - Ma La Niu Rou (麻辣肥牛) Numbing Fat Beef Hong You Chao Shou (红油抄手) was good too, though not something I was like "OMG" for. Filling was more than most other places, and dumpling skin was smooth and thin. I also tried the sesame balls with red bean paste inside for dessert and it was really crispy, hot, and fresh when served -- thoroughly enjoyed it during dine in! My fam and I had a nice chat with the waiter/front desk worker and he's fluent in Canto, Mando, and English which is great :). Seems like the owner is from Northern China and the restaurant is under new management as of a month ago. Interior is very new and clean and big, bathroom is also very clean and nice, and restaurant service was great. This would be a nice place to go with family and friends for gatherings! A little more on the pricey side for dishes, but we're in Jersey City, so...sort of expected. As someone who has eaten these dishes in China and HK, as well as other good spots in NJ/NYC, I'd vouch for the authenticity of the food! I'll be back regularly from now on :). (I'll also update my review to include other photos and reviews of other dishes). P.S. they give out $5 cash vouchers to use for dine-in sometimes, with a dine-in meal $30+. Also, there is usually street parking available in front or across the street, max 2 hours and metered parking, free on weekends and holidays :) I'd expect this restaurant to take off once the park is built across the street as well. Perfect location!

Yelp
Since ownership changed. The menu is smaller, food wasn't good, lunch specials are now more expensive and staff was rude. No wonder it's always empty and dead inside

Yelp
I didn't feel like cooking one Tuesday night so we decided to order from Ling Long Xuan for takeout. The menu looked pretty promising, with a number of classic Cantonese dishes. It wasn't your typical Chinese takeout menu. Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. Here is everything we ordered: Yang Chow Fried Rice - this was the best dish. It hit the spot as a comfort food Chicken Lomein - a pretty solid lomein but a little bit too salty. I liked that they put bamboo shoots in there Pork and Preserved Egg Congee - this might be the worst congee I've ever had. It was so watery and flavor-less, and what little pork pieces were in there, tasted really old. If I didn't know it was congee, I could have easily mistaken it for dish rag water. Avoid this for your own good Scallion pancake wrapped with beef - this wasn't bad but also a bit too salty Probably would not order from here again, unless it's just to get some of the fried rice.

Yelp
Good place to feed the craving of standard Chinese dishes. The Eggplant Chicken, string beans and Pork Xiao Long Bao were specifically delicious. The Peking duck was decent.

Yelp
Love, Ling Long Xuan. First time visit for the new Lunar Year and what a delectable dinner it was to bring in the year of the tiger. We ordered take out which was easy and ready as estimated. Parking directly in front for an easy in and out. They provided all the usual sauce packets, napkins and chopsticks. The food was delicious. The chicken and sauce were flavorful with fresh crisp broccoli over fresh fluffy white rice. The chicken lo mein was light on the oil and ample amount of ingredients such as cut veggies and sliced chicken pieces, i could have used more spicy. The dim sum was fresh and delicious. Will return for more noodles and dumplings.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely a solid spot in Jersey city and authentic! Got a few things to go from here and most of the items we had were great! Prices are definitely a bit steep but thought the portion was pretty generous. 1) cumin beef. Thinly sliced beef with lots of flavors from the cumin, cilantro and onions. Flavor was great and numbing. 2) beef in hot chili. We actually ordered fish fillet but the kitchen made a mistake. It's all good tho because the flavor was on point and it was spicy, oily and numbing just like how it should be 3) young chow fried rice: the least favorite item we had here. Very bland and boring. Overall this is a great spot in the area. Definitely recommend coming if in the area.

Yelp
Been eating here for years now. Menu changed but quality is still the same. Please bring back braised pork with preserved cabbage :(((
google avatar

Talia T.

Yelp
If I could give it zero stars I would. The lady taking my order today was rude. Snatched the menu from my hand after I ordered. Then took for ever to bring soy sauce and chopsticks. To make it worse my food comes out and there is a roach in it. Yes a smashed up roach. I showed the male worker and he took the roach on the chopstick to the back came back with two ginger ale sodas and said sorry. No lie. So we had some stuff to go which we told them we no longer want after finding the roach in the food. They said no it's prepared already you have to pay. I told him I would not be doing that as I just found a roach in my food and the entire meal should've been comped at that point. He only took off the to go item. If you like roaches and salty food and rude service this is the place to go. I wish my phone wasn't dead so I could've took a picture of that mess.
google avatar

Dara R.

Yelp
Sorry to give this place a minimal review. I'm a Brooklyn, NY transplant and the southeast BK neighborhood I was in offered BIGGER portions for half the price of this spot. I ordered for the first time and got a small chicken and string beans-the container was NOT jam packed and the flavor was average. For $17 this should have fed 2 people but it was definitely a small serving. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is nice and bright but will have to find a budget friendly spot in The Heights instead of wasting my money on small portions of the usual.
google avatar

Az X.

Yelp
Simply amazing food. The flavor of the beef with chilli was out of the world. The noodles perfectly cooked. The sauce just perfect. Wish I still stayed in JC to visit more often.
google avatar

Yelp
Ling Long Xuan has a very well deserved reputation for offering the best vaguely Americanized Chinese food in Jersey City. Craving a simple meal of roast pork lo mein and wonton soup while recovering from my second vaccine dose, I decided to finally give the spot a try. While a few dollars pricier than the run of the mill corner spots, the price is absolutely worth it. The wonton soup was pleasantly missing the blast of salt expected from most soups, with delicate wontons in a gingery broth, while the lo mein noodles were tender and handmade, perfectly matched to the meltingly soft pork. The menu offers up some more traditional choices (cumin meats, whole fish, hotpots); regardless of what you order, you won't go wrong. Highly, highly recommended
google avatar

Yelp
The food is fresh and delicious. Best Chinese food in JC. Ordered garlic chicken and chicken with broccoli. It has really good flavor and it's tasty. It's my new favorite spot. And they also follow directions when you order delivery.
google avatar

Jackson C.

Yelp
The best wontons (wildly good garlic sauce) and Lo Mein I have ever had. Sort of mid scallion pancakes tho.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
This is exactly what we needed in these times - good comfort food that gives you the feeling someone cares, for real. There's "Peking Duck", which is roast duck and that is okay for $41 with 12 pancakes, (which are absolutely delicious) and the requisite scallions and cucumbers plus duck hoisin sauce. The other items on the dimsum menu are outstanding by JC standards : HarGow, Pork Soup dumplings, and the Congee with pork with preserved egg is on point. A real gem - the staff is very professional (I dealt with Leo) and communication is excellent. Highly recommended, and keep this a secret. Thanks.
google avatar

Kenna M.

Yelp
The food here is solid. The service is impeccable, granted we were the only ones dining in at noon on Sunday. The restaurant (and it's bathroom) are VERY VERY CLEAN. We loved the Chongqin chicken. The soup dumplings were solid. Scallion pancakes delish. Next time we're getting the dumplings in chili oil! They even have a couple of round tables with lazy Susan in the middle for large groups! We will be back and next time, we're bringing friends with us!
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
I was looking for a quick lunch one day and was really craving Chinese food. There is not really a lot of good Chinese food in JC - and a lot of places will charge you an arm for some dumplings. I remembered my sister said she really liked the food at Ling Long, so I put in an order on Uber Eats. I had the Beef Ho Fun and the Scallion Pancakes. Scallion Pancakes were amazing - crispy and thin with an amazing dipping sauce. When we received the order, and even 20 minutes later, they were still pipping hot. The Beef Ho Fun left a lot to be desired. The ho fun was basically flavorless and I had to whip out my trusty Hoisin sauce to give it some flavor. Did they even put any sauce in it?? I'll leave it at a 3 star for now until I have more items. It might be a one-off, maybe their chef was on vacation. Who knows.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Delicious food and great service. It was very quiet on a Monday around lunch time. More affordable than some other chinese restaurants in Jersey City, and just as tasty :) Will be coming back

Dee L.

Yelp
The only Chinese restaurant I trust in Jersey City. The service is solid as well. It's clean, quick, and the food always tastes fresh. Highly recommend!

Jas C.

Yelp
The food is delicious and healthier. It's one of the best Chinese restaurants. It is family owned and they roll their dumplings right there. It's a must try.

Yelp
Ling Long Xuan Restaurant Found this place through Yelp reviews while on a work travel trip on a late night meal in Jersey City, New Jersey. Pork Belly was a very good dish, full of flavor and delicious, would recommend giving this a try. Won Ton Soup was bland, no flavor or taste would definitely not recommend to my worst enemy Spicy Chicken we requested that there be no heat, I guess that is up for interpretation but it was still pretty spicy with hot peppers galore Xiao Long Bao were very good, served warm, not too hot but good consistency, very happy with this order. At first the waitress was very combative, and then a second one came over to help and she was much more kind and attentive. Next time will go into the city for Chinese food

J K.

Yelp
Worst service. I've ordered from them many times and this time would be the last. I complained because of some delivery issue. Instead of addressing the issue, the lady gave me such an attitude basically saying "the food is there now so what do you want?".
google avatar

Tony J.

Yelp
This is probably the best Chinese lunch special in all of JC. You can get an entree along with white/brown/fried rice and egg drop/wonton/hot & sour soup. They have classic Chinese-American dishes like General Tso's chicken but also things you wouldn't find at a normal Chinese takeaway like Chinese celery with pork and dried beancurd. Every dish is well-seasoned and made with fresh ingredients, and the fried rice is full of wok hei. The soups are nice and light. The food is five-star quality, though the reliability brings it down a notch. They closed down for about two or three months this summer due to difficulties finding a chef, so I've heard. It's now open again, but they don't reliably open at 11 AM every day due to having to drive from Flushing and possibly getting stuck in traffic. I've had orders on Uber Eats/Doordash canceled on me on occasion. But the food is so good that I'm willing to risk it.

Chenkai L.

Yelp
The Chinese food is not authentic at all. Guo bao rou is fried meat with sour and sweet soup. It's not crispy at all, it's disgusting.

Yelp
I have been wondering when this place will open for the past few month. Finally coming by today during jury duty for lunch. Very nice and authentic place, will come for dinner another day. I only ordered beef with string beans lunch special and pork with minced garlic. The string bean and beef dish was very good. The sauce in the pork was great but the pork itself was a bit on the chewy side. I was expecting melt in you mouth kinda texture. Will come again for dinner and see. Came again for dinner next day. The food do not disappoint. 夫妻肺片-beef tripe in hot sauce - tasted very fresh ingredients. The slices were thin and just perfect to suck up the sauce flavors 干煸四季豆-string beans - we asked for not spicy so our 5 yr old can eat it - very flavorful- our son could not stop eating it. 酸汤肥牛-needle mushroom beef in sour soup - hit the spot. Not very spicy but gives you the kick in the flavor. And on a cold day, make you all warm inside. 新疆羊肉-xin jiang style lamb - is slightly different from the usual cumin lamb, recommended by the wait staff. It was good and cooked very tender. The congees were also a good compliment to the meal. Both 小米粥and 黑米粥was good with generous portions. Cant wait to come and try other dishes.

Aaron A.

Yelp
Solid Chinese takeout with quality service if you eat in. I like the chicken and mushroom sauce
google avatar

Hazel S.

Yelp
I had high hopes about their Chongqing chicken but it was alright. It wasn't as crispy as I wanted so that sogginess was very disappointing. Their soup dumplings are not good. I guess that's fair since that's not their specialty. Overall, it was ok but I wouldn't really go back or order a delivery.

Katrina W.

Yelp
Tried the lunch special delivery. Portion was small. The braised pork was all fat! Sesame chicken the meat was too dry. Wouldn't order again
google avatar

Bevano L.

Yelp
I've not dined in yet but have ordered several takeouts from them. So far all dishes met our craving for tasty authentic Chinese dishes. Examples are double cooked sliced fish and sautéed calamari with hot pepper

Yelp
Okay where do I start? I love a good, family run authentic Asian restaurant. I'm always searching them out when I have the chance. I found this on yelp and the reviews and food photos were amazing. I do enjoy some spicy food. I eat spicy with Italian, Indian and Asian to name a few. So here's what I ordered at Ling Long Xuan... P01 - Chongqing Style Chicken DS7 - Scallion Pancake with Beef DS13 - Wonton Szechuan Style Z04 - Shredded Pork with Cilantro and Spicy Chilis Okay, I must be getting old because the spice level just about blew my head off. Don't get me wrong, the flavors were deep and complex and delicious! So delicious but for me, trying to enjoy it while sweat poured down my head was a bit harsh! The Chongqing Chicken was the spiciest to me. Filled with chilis and other good stuff, the chicken was fried perfectly and crunchy. The rest though, it required white rice to finish what I had. Definitely a wonderful dish for the more tolerant. The Shredded pork was yummy too, not as crazy hot but equally as flavorful! The spice was accentuated by the cilantro and man was it tasty! My mouth was so numb! The Wontons were delicious; and much milder than the first two dishes I noted. The wonton themselves deserved to be eaten with no sauce, just to taste the filling better. The sauce was full of flavors and so good. I'll order them again. The scallion pancake after all that intensity was good but came across a bit bland. I had the other half of it today and trust me, it was not bland at all, my tongue was just working again! I'd get that again also! I'm not discounting this restaurant. There are tons of other things that I want to try there. It's just I have a new sissy boy level with heat I guess. I can handle 3 alarm but 5 alarm is meant for a younger crowd! Definitely, lovers of true Chinese/Asian food need to try this place. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
We had a craving for authentic dim sum, thought about going into NYC, but decided to try this place instead. So glad we did!! Food was great. Crab meat soup dumplings, scallion pancakes with beef, and Szechuan wontons were real highlights. Looking forward to going back!

Zaira A.

Yelp
Service was great! The food was just what i needed to satisfy the itch I had. The food itself was spot on. The ambiance was casual and warm. I felt like I was welcomed into someones home.

Yelp
Finally some solid Chinese food in downtown JC! I ordered takeout from Ling Long Xuan and was really impressed with everything. The beef scallion pancake appetizer was delicious and probably my favorite part of the meal. The order came with four large pieces stuffed with a generous amount of beef and fresh scallion. The sesame chicken had a ton of quality white meat chicken. The pork fried rice also had a generous amount of crispy pork. My only complaint is that this order was too large, and too overpriced. Fried rice is $11 and is absolutely massive, it's almost like two orders. My suggestion would be to offer a smaller sized fried rice for a lesser cost. The menu is huge and you can find every and any time of chinese restaurant staple. I was eyeing some of the items on the dim sum section, and am looking forward to trying the pork soup dumplings. The interior looks really sleek and beautiful, so next time I'll try and dine in!

Yelp
This is a relatively new restaurant opened in the area. It's a northern Chinese cuisine that is lacking in this neighborhood. They serve spicy dishes. Of which, we tried three of them and none is disappointed. The price is right and lunch specials are available as well. Will definitely come back if I am able.

Yelp
Got take out here while I was sick, so I ordered thousand year egg porridge and fried dough (you tiao). The porridge was a little bland, but I didn't mind it because I was sick. There's not a lot of thousand year egg or meat, mostly porridge - which might explain why it was on the bland side. Can't say I loved it, but was thankful that it tasted authentic for the most part. For 2 dollars, the fried dough comes with a LOT of fried dough. I think like 8 half sticks? I didn't count, but it was definitely a good value for 2 dollars and went well with the porridge. I wish they had included soy sauce with the take out though. Otherwise, just from what I'd try, I would definitely return. The place seems pretty authentic in their Chinese food. The lady at the counter was also extremely warm and friendly when I came to pick up my order.

Yelp
When in Newark, you don't really have a variety of local Chinese cusines. That's why we were excited to try the Szechuan cusine here. I don't think the chef here put in serious work unfortunately.

Yelp
Was in the mood for duck so I decided to look on yelp for a place and found this restaurant. Upon walking into the restaurant we were greeted and seated right away. We came during lunchtime so it wasn't that busy. The restaurant is well kept and clean and has a decent amount of seating. Our server was very attentive and he tried to make suggestions on what to try. I decided to go with the crispy duck and my husband got the hot cumin lamb chops with two sides of rice. I asked the man did the duck come with sauce and he assured me that it did. Unfortunately, when the duck came out it didn't have any sauce and it needed a sauce. Although it was crispy I felt it to have lack of flavor so the sauce would of been the perfect combination. The lamb which comes in a decent size portion had good flavor but unfortunately it was covered in cumin. The presentation of the lamb is not appealing and the amount of cumin is unbearable. You literally have to scrape it off just to get to the lamb.

Yelp
YIPPIE! Good news - they reopened! but only for pick up/take out (no indoor seating...yet).

Yelp
We came here for the Mother's Day lunch hoping since they just opened that they aren't too full. They were not so full. The bad weather also helped. We ordered the soup, fish dish, string bean veggies and fried pork intestines. Hot tea and water for the table. They were helpful but the service was a bit disorganized and slow. A sure sign of a newly opened spot. The fish and string beans were well made. The soup had dried shrimp so be careful for those with shellfish allergies. Fried pork was done well. We tried a couple desserts. Some fried something with rice puffs and some sort of glutenous sweet thing with cherries. Not great. 15% discount with Yelp check-in. Overall the it was A-OK. We will try again since they are local, support local businesses. Hope they get better, offer better desserts and stay around for a long time.
