The 24 Best Restaurants In Melbourne - Melbourne - The Infatuation

"This always-buzzing Cantonese institution is a reliable go-to for many Melbourne chefs, who swing by after service for generous plates of lobster egg noodles, crab fried rice, and Peking duck served until 1:30am. Let the tanks of live seafood lining the spacious, group-friendly room guide your order, and don’t sleep on the pippies in XO—they make for excellent drinking food when paired with a pile of crunchy youtiao. Service can be brusque—you’ll want to be decisive when ordering—and you definitely won’t be allowed to hang around after eating, whether there’s a line forming outside or not (staff might even write the time you need to leave by on your table). But that’s all balanced by affordable prices and the ability to BYO wine." - ellen fraser

This restaurant has been in this same location for a number of years with ample free parking. Family run with some indoor seating and dining and take out available. They do not subscribe to online food delivery services and all orders must be called in or placed in person. Stopped in for take out and ordered a vegetable soup, shrimp spring rolls and a small chicken with scallions and I must say everything was prepared fresh with good ingredients and tasted delicious. What they may lack in modern ordering conveniences they make up for with delicious food prepared with care. Prices were fair and most important the food was good. We enjoyed our meal and will try other menu options.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Hidden Gem Alert! 🙌🏼✨ Stopped by Lingnan Chinese Restaurant and WOW—this spot is incredible! 🤩 Ordered the Sesame Chicken 🐔🍯 and Shrimp Fried Rice 🍤🍚, and it was absolutely delicious. Unlike some Chinese places, the food wasn’t greasy or heavy at all—everything tasted super clean, fresh, and perfectly balanced with flavor. 🌱😋👌🏼 The sesame chicken was crispy, flavorful, and not oily, while the shrimp fried rice was loaded with shrimp and fresh ingredients—seasoned just right without being overdone. 🍤🌿 Also, the restaurant itself was spotlessly clean 🧹✨, reflecting the pride and care the owners put into their establishment. Speaking of the owners, they’re incredibly nice and genuinely welcoming. Very friendly feeling when I ordered 😊🤗🏡 Honestly, whoever says the food here isn’t good must be used to halfway-sloppy, no-effort Chinese places and clearly doesn’t know what fresh, clean, quality Chinese cooking tastes like. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂( FYI … Lingnan is Hong Kong Style Chinese..& it’s quality ! ) Hands-down my new favorite Chinese spot in Emmaus! If you haven’t tried Lingnan yet, you’re definitely missing out. 🚨🍽️💯

Google
First visit and ordered General Tso combination, large pork with broccoli and an order of crab Rangoon. Very tasty and fresh. Interesting style of General Tso with cabbage in it- very good. Ingredients were very fresh. Will definitely return.

Google

Google
First time here. Takeout only spot. Sweet and sour chicken for kids. Kids immediately said it was sour. And that was just the chicken, no sauce. Adults tried it and ordered a pizza for the kids. General Tso’s chicken was edible, albeit a lot different than what we are used to.

Google
Favorite place in Emmaus for Chinese food, super nice family run business. Always clean and friendly. I love the general tso’s chicken with there pork fried rice and bbq spare ribs. If you’re looking for fast , convenient, and easy dinners Ling Nan is the place. You won’t be disappointed! 10/10.

Google
Ling Nan has been my favorite Chinese food in the Lehigh Valley for years! Always delicious. Veggies always seem very fresh, and chicken is always juicy and tender. Try their General Tso's Chicken -- they have a unique style that I've not found anywhere else. Take out only.

Google
The WORST Chinese food I’ve ever had in my entire life!!!! First of all the only combos they have only come with pork fried rice and if you want something different you have to pay extra to change it. Everything came in separate containers which was annoying. The total for literally just general tso chicken, chicken lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, and 2 eggs was $60!!!!!! THE MOST EXPENSIVE Chinese food I’ve ever ordered!!!! I would have gotten Chinese from my local place but unfortunately they were closed for the day. Everything was so bland and nasty!!!! The general tso chicken wasn’t even general tso chicken, I don’t know what it was so hopefully I don’t get sick because it looked super undercooked!!! The noodles were so bland and gross!!! My husband and I didn’t even finish the food and we threw it away because it was so nasty!!!! Never again are we getting food from there!!!! I then called the restaurant to see if I could get a refund and I still had my receipt and I told the lady over the phone all of the problems with the food and she started being very rude to me saying it’s not her problem it’s my problem and she didn’t care at all. Very poor customer service. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

Yelp
Great Chinese food in Emmaus. Upon walking in for the first time, I knew from the smell it was gonna be good. Friendly people when are genuine. They have some different items on the menu, which I really like the variety. I really appreciate how long they have been in business. Cash only and no online menu. The food was amazing! Beef and broccoli was so fresh and flavorful. The Hong Kong Lo Mein had huge pieces of pork, chicken, beef and shrimp, as well as fresh vegetables. General Cheng's chicken was boneless skinless chicken thighs in a very good brown sauce. Sadly no General Tso on the menu.

Yelp
Combination plate is a pretty good deal. I had the cashew chicken which ended up being mostly diced water chestnut I believe. Fried rice was dry but the egg roll was good.

Yelp
I really like the food in this place. It's Never buzy from what I have seen but food is good. The lady behind the counter seemed a little impatient at first but I tosssed her tip and now she loves me. The restaurant doesn't look new and modern but seems clean from a first glance. They uSe real dishes when u sit and eat inside the restaurant which I thought was charming. Overall I like the food and have no complaints. Xoxoxo

Yelp
A very good Chinese place hidden inside a small strip mall. The portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and service is good! Plenty of options all throughout the menu

Yelp
Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! Just plain and simple this place is DISGUSTING and disappointing. I recently leased office space right across the street from this place and throughout the weeks I've been checking out different eateries such as Bachi's, true blue, and Italian delight (all wonderful places). Today I was in the mood for Chinese food and I made the HORRIBLE mistake of trying this place. When you first walk-in expect to be greeted by a rude woman with no charisma whatsoever!! I ordered low mein, boneless bbq spare ribs, pepper beef and beef broccoli. The noodles were flavorless, they tasted as though they were boiled In water super soggy and plain, as well as the rice had NO flavor and to compensate for the lack of flavor all the entrees were OVERLY salted!! My husband and kid are eating this because they were hungry but I couldn't continue eating this garbage and it broke my heart that my family had to eat it. I paid $45.00 for take out which wouldn't pain me had I enjoyed it and was of good quality. I'm a total foodie and enjoy writing HONEST reviews so that other people don't go through a horrible food experience.

Yelp
This is absolutely worth five stars. Everything is incredibly fresh and extremely tasty I highly recommend this restaurant and really any dinner

Yelp
I've been going here since I was little 20+ years ago! Since moving to Bethlehem, I haven't found anything close to their lo mein. The owners are wonderful, and this is just a wonderful family-owned business that is a staple in Emmaus!

Yelp
Lingnan has the best hot and sour soup and Kung Bao Beef. It rivals anything in Philadelphia 's Chinatown. Best Dishes I've had in over twenty years. The restaurant is clean and the owners are pleasant.

David A.

Yelp
Authentic Southern Chinese (Guangdong/Cantonese) fare. My faves are the ribs (bone in) and the fried rice. Nice find, glad my friend had recommended to try it.

John S.

Yelp
I ate lunch there today. Rude woman working and lousy chicken with asparagus. Some kind of weird sauce.

Joe F.

Yelp
I love Chinese food, I worked in Chinatown in Philly for many years where I've eaten at some great Asian Restaurants often and I've found every meal my family has had from Lingnan's has been great! We keep going back. We like it spicy and their Hot and Sour soup and Kung Pao Beef are excellent! Looking forward to trying some of their other dishes soon. Very polite and friendly service.

Yelp
This has become a regular stop off after work, to grab a steaming pile of chicken with garlic sauce or beef with garlic sauce. Besides the rich, dark, savory sauce, they include nearly an entire head of broccoli, miraculously crunchy--fresh from the wok. Miles above the standard gloppy fare at Americanized Asian joints. And the kind lady at the front desk is a sweetheart. Large size easily feeds two.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the woman who runs this place is extremely cold and combative and does not care about her customers. If the food was good I might be able to overlook some of her behavior, but it isn't that good, especially for the price. Avoid this place!

Yelp
Great Chinese food, loved the teriyaki beef sticks! The whole family thought it was better than the place we were going to before, but my step dad found a metal piece in his food.

Yelp
We ordered from here last night and the lady in the phone couldn't have been more rude. We were just trying to add extra ingredients to our meals and she kept saying it didn't come with it. When I asked if we could just pay extra she said it didn't come with it and she didn't understand!! Needless to say if my girl wasn't craving Asian cuisine we would've gone elsewhere. So we were finally able to get our order through and when I picked it up 45min later it still wasn't ready. The lady asked me questions about the order which lead me to believe that it wasn't even started yet. After about another 20 minutes of waiting my order was finally complete. I paid, left and when I got home my 'sesame chicken' was basically fried breading! The quality and amount of chicken in my meal was pathetic. I would expect that from a food court establishment but not from a place that supposedly has 4/5 stars. End of story the lady was beyond rude to us and the food was way under par. 1/5

Yelp
This place is nasty my chicken wasn't even cooked and they wouldn't give my money back and they argued with me about it. Never going there again.

Yelp
We've been getting take out from Ling Nan for over 20 years, and I've always been a fan, but it wasn't until they went on an extended vacation and we were forced to try other Chinese take out restaurants that I really appreciated just how good their food really is. The menu has all the typical choices - no surprises there - but everything we've had has been made just right. Our favorites are the Szechuan chicken, vegetable lo mein, and garlic broccoli. If you want to eat there, the restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated.

Belle V.

Yelp
Better-than-average Chinese food. The egg roll was nicely crispy, and had a good ratio of dough to filling. The szechuan tofu had a nice little kick to it, and was really silky, unlike the rubbery fried pieces you get at most places.

Dani R.

Yelp
This place has great food. I like being able to get hot tea with our meal. The service is fast, I have never waited long for my meal.
