Linh Café

It’s a very spacious and beautiful restaurant. The decor, lighting, and plants all made for a lovely experience. The Amour Citrus cocktail was a smooth drink, not too sour/sweet or heavy on the tequila. We ordered several share plates. The food was mostly good, except for the Spicy Banh Mi sticks. For $5 a serving, I was expecting them to be a bit more than just pate and sauce in a mini baguette. Very underwhelming. The rest of the food ranged from OK to delicious, the OK being the French Escargot (overcooked but the sauce was tasty) and the Red Beet salad. The Foie Gras Parfait and the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare were fantastic, I’d go back for both those dishes. We were worried about bringing our son here as it’s quite busy on weekend evenings but it was relatively child friendly and they offered a high chair. Our waiter was very kind and attentive to our group and our baby, he heated up our son’s food so we could feed him while we were eating. I will return again to try other items on the menu!

been coming here since they opened in 2014. food is never disappointing, the service is good, and i’m always glad i came. got the steak frites as usual and it was exceptional this last time. steak was more tender than usual, no tough or chewy bits, lots of delicious peppercorn sauce, and perfect fries. i always wished the steak was a better cut. but this time it hit. tuna tartar is good light, fresh and delicious. also love their bread and their spicy garlic chili sauce. unfortunately it’s a lot more expensive to eat here now, esp since they moved to this location. but the food and service are great.

Overall, Linh Cafe delivers a solid and satisfying experience. The food is flavorful and filling, though the prices feel slightly high for the portion sizes. The pho is a reliable standout—especially when topped with the bone marrow add-on, which is always served generously and adds welcome richness to the dish. Beyond the pho, the true highlight is the chicken liver in mustard sauce, an excellent and memorable dish that is well worth ordering.

This was my second time at Linh Cafe, we got the mussles, steak frites, mini pho, and tuna tartar. The mussels were definitely the highlight! The food was good but nothing that was truly unforgettable.

Beef Wellington 8.8/10, amazing tenderness, sauce was great, and the pastry was flaky Hải Phuong Baguette 7.8/10, warm fresh crispy, the pate and spicy mayo sauce just melted in my mouth Mussels 9.1/10, the sauce was astounding, and the mussels were perfectly cooked, I asked for bread and kept dipping the sauce it was so good Shrimp 7.1/10, the tangy sauce was not to my preference, but the contrast between this and the mussels allowed a break in the savouriness Rotisserie Duck 7.4/10, the duck was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was simple, overall was not as memorable for me, would not likely get again, good to try once Pho Bo w/Bone Marrow, 6.8/10, overall it was okay, super rich and heavy, with the bone marrow, added some of the house garlic vinegar, which help cut the savouriness. I always rate Pho, based on the fact would I eat this again, and unfortunately I wouldn’t. Overall- the mussels and beef Wellington were by far a must try, I’d go back to try the steak in the future.

Absolutely amazing experience! This Vietnamese–French restaurant truly exceeded all expectations. The Vietnamese soup was hands down the best I’ve ever had — deep, rich, perfectly balanced flavors. I’m still thinking about it. The duck in sauce with roasted grapes and apples was simply outstanding — tender, elegant, and incredibly flavorful. I literally squealed with joy while eating it. My husband ordered the steak, and it was unbelievably tender and perfectly cooked. One of the best steaks he’s had in a long time. A special mention to their homemade sauce served with the soup — it was so good that I actually bought a jar to take home. Absolute perfection. Incredible food, beautiful flavors, and a place we’ll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommended!

Always a great spot to eat and hang out. Service is always amazing, and the food never disappoints. One of the best bowl of pho in town, and the frog legs are very addicting. Dont get me started on the steak because then I will get hungry but I have tried both their steak & frites and their Cote De Boeuf and wow. They are so good. I cannot recommend this place enough! Amazing spot and a must try!

I am glad we did not need to wait and got seated pretty quick. Our server called Thinh, he is super kind and friendly. We speak Cantonese and Mandarin, our server was trying to speak the same language as we do to explain the menu. Really respectful while you have a fine dining in this beautiful restaurant. We have ordered some appetizers, which provides high quality food as one of my picture shown. Creamy pork liver paste in crispy bagutte, that smooth and creamy texture stay in mouth feels so good. The Pho bowl is what we had for main course. Fully stewed beef bones broth WITHOUT any MSG added, the pure meat flavour and that cleaning taste given you the best broth for rice-noodle. Thin cute full size meat loafs on the top with bone marrow, which enhance the creamy taste and meat flavour. No need bean sprout or other ingredients added because for fine dining you do not want any broth split out and make your clothing dirty. All in all, there has not shortage for a nice texture dinning and high end serving in this elegant restaurant. However, parking is a bit complicated according to the location. It is easy to find out because near the University of Canada West.

Was working on campus and my colleague recommended going to Linh Cafe nearby for lunch for some pho, as it was a chilly winter day. We walked in at 12:15pm on Tuesday and were immediately greeted and seated. We ordered one regular pho ($18.90) and one regular pho with beef marrow add on (+2.50). The server asked us if we wanted sharing bowls, which we thought strange, as we ordered our own bowls of pho, but said "yes". My bowl of pho, with the added bone marrow, came out within 8 minutes but we were left waiting for my friend's regular pho bowl for awhile. Finally, we flagged down our server and there was a miscommunication as she thought we only wanted one bowl of pho to share. The second bowl of pho was immediately put into the system and came out within a few minutes. Beef broth was really flavourful and light - perfect for a cold winter day! Beef brisket was nicely cooked and I really enjoyed the added extra bone marrow and highly recommend. At $18.90 for a regular bowl of pho, it is a bit pricey but it's a step above the regular Mom & Pop pho joints with a clearer lighter broth that doesn't lack in flavourful, in a prime DT location, and in a modern beautiful esthetic restaurant with superior service.

Vietnamese food with French elevation - or just pricier Vietnamese food - you can decide that yourself. Not really sure where parking would be - as it was a nice day and i got there VIA transit and a short walk. Interior gave off a upscale French restaurant - probably missing a live piano - tables are nicely spaced so you can have privacy - lighting was perfect for you social media gurus that want to take the next best pic or video. Service was very quick and friendly - they were knowledgeable with there menu, and can answer anything with ease. There private branded Vinegar is so delicious - and there pho broth was pretty tasty - the spicy baguette was kind of random to me, and i didn't really enjoy it. Ice coffee was lacking in strength - and you can definitely find better - Personally , I will probably skip the re-visit as the prices are on the higher end , and the food was pretty average.

We visited Linh Café for a friend's birthday celebration, and it was a delightful evening! This casual spot serves a unique blend of French and Vietnamese cuisine, making it an excellent choice for groups who love to share and explore different flavours. Highlights of our dinner: * The unlimited complimentary sourdough bread and butter was a standout. It was fresh and soft -- we dipped it into every dish's sauce because it was that good! * The garlic and butter red shrimp was rich and creamy, with just enough indulgence. * The braised beef brisket pho with bone marrow and sous vide egg was a warm, comforting bowl. The soup was piping hot (we love that!), and the flavours were super satisfying. We were surprised the bone marrow had already scooped out, but it was still delicious. * The lamb chops were perfectly seared, juicy, and seasoned just right--a real treat for meat lovers. While every dish was good, some were slightly salty and oily for our taste, and the presentation could use a bit of refinement to match the overall quality. It would be nice if they could clean up the dirty dishes. Overall, Linh Café is cozy, with solid dishes and some standout flavours. After visiting Granville Island, we decided to swing by Linh Cafe for a quick bite. We ordered their escargot, frog legs, pho and spicy baguette but I'd have to say that their amazing sauce was the star of the show. Absolutely enjoyed their frog legs (with tons of garlic) and spicy baguette, and their escargot made a fantastic topping for their complimentary bread. Unfortunately, their pho wasn't as impressive as I had hoped because I was craving some noodle soup, but if you add a hefty scoop of their amazing sauce, it's phenomenal. Their service was good, especially since we noticed our server might have recently started as there was quite a bit of back and forth, but otherwise, good! Lovely interior.

Hands down the most delicious bowl of pho i have ever had! Came here at a friend's recommendation and could not be happier with the choice. The bread and butter to start was soft and delectable. I paired it with the homemade chili which was the perfect kick. For my appetizer i got the country terrine which was subtle and enough to share between two. for my main i got the braised beef brisket pho with bone marrow which left me in a stupor. I was dumbfounded by just how delicious this was. It was the ultimate bowl of pho in my opinion. Set in a bustling french styled cafe Linh's was tastefully decorated and staffing was very attentive. When next in the downtown Vancouver area I will surely return to explore more or their menu. Don't snooze on Linh's Cafe!

Went there for dinner last week. Very nice decor. Spacious and clean, located under the Granville bridge. The service was attentive and friendly. I think at least 4 servers served us.  The food is not the traditional Vietnamese food as they advertised. It's sort of Fresh and Vietnamese. The complimentary bread was delicious. We asked for more and we got 4 I think. The Pho was not the traditional Pho I'm used to at other Vietnamese restaurants. The soup was hot and tasty but the amount of Pho in each bowl was maybe only 30% of what I normally get. You have to pay extra to order more noodles. The French Fries was very good. Crispy but maybe just a tat too crispy. The washroom is clean and spacious. Good experience but not eager to go back anytime soon.

I wanted pho and my friend wanted oysters so we compromised. Food was okay. Nothing we ordered exactly wowed me. The fries were nicely fried and crispy though and the complimentary bread was nice. Our server was inattentive and they felt it....a few staff including our server asked us multiple times near the "end"of our meal how was our experience, so I told her as is which made me change my review from 2 to 3 stars. But to be honest, the whole experience was quite uncomfortable. I won't delve too much into the service, but it was definitely lacking for the price point being charged. The tables next to us finished their meal a lot earlier than us even though they came after us. I think our server simply forgot about us. We weren't even given the utensils until we asked for it after our pho was served "after" we asked them where our food might be. But let's delve into the food. The Vietnamese coffee was basically a sour coffee. (I asked for 1/2 sweet) It's not what I'm accustomed to. I like the traditional strong, bold and dripped Vietnamese coffee. And this ain't it. Thankfully my friend was okay with it so I didn't have to leave it untouched. The tartare was okay. I'm thankful another waitress (not our server) offered us more bread and water. Our waitress offered more water near the end of our meal. Pho noodles were nice, but broth lacked depth. Sort of wish they came with the option of beef balls and basil (for my friend). The Chili vinegar is nice, but I wish they gave it to us in a separate container... to just give us the jar without a lid feels unhygienic. Kusshi oysters were definitely not as plump or sweet as some other restaurants in the Vancouver area, but it was ok. Overall, I am unlikely to return.

Located with the University, they have a beautiful space. The pho was flavorful. The meat was a bit too shredded for me, but sliced thin enough. Overall a nice spot to check out.

Liked the old breakfast and lunch menu before the price increases and elimination of selections. The pho Bo and hamachi tartar was fine.

Expensive for mediocre pho sums it up! I got the mini pho for $11 for lunch. The regular sized pho is $18.90. It ONLY comes with a few thin slices of braised beef brisket (and some green onions/cilantro if you want to count that). If you want additional meat, it's an add-on (eg. $5 for extra beef brisket, $8 for AAA rare beef), but you'll be paying $25+ for a simple bowl of pho. Soup is fine, but nothing special or unique. I think any neighbourhood pho place around the corner would taste about the same. The ambiance is very nice though, spacious and high ceilings. Come for the vibes, not for the food! Tuna tartare was pretty good. $24, and comes with their house-made chips. Pros: Jar of chilies vinegar was nice Overall, I was pretty disappointed as I heard good things about this place and was on my list for a while. Visited, checked it off, unfortunately won't be back again.

Dangerously tasty! It's probably a blessing this place doesn't do delivery as I've found myself driving across the downtown core to order myself some Pho for pick up (when there are closer viet restaurants to me). I've visited the restaurant on site probably about half a dozen times and only once did an item disappoint (the mussels). As a non spicy girl the pho spicy sauce is sooo tasty. I swear it's converting me a mild/med girl. Service is always prompt and polite. There is one hostess/employee that is the sweetest and recognized me as a repeat guest recently which was both embarrassing and appreciated.

We had a great dinner experience at Linh Cafe while in Vancouver. They are a Vietnamese-French fusion restaurant with a spectacular ambience to dine at. Everything we tried was delicious! The Mussels came with a cream white wine sauce and it was mouthwatering. The Pho Bo with Bone Marrow was a delicious bowl of pho, I love bone marrow and you should definitely include it in your pho order! The escargot was a delicious appetizer, it is mixed with garlic butter and tomatoes and not just the usual escargot. The Veal Sweetbread was unique, it's something you don't have everyday, so it was a nice try.

While this place was recommended, I was disappointed. The ambiance and food are decent, but not worth the price as it is overpriced, and the service is very subpar. In fact, the portions are so tiny, and the menu is disorganized. Be prepared to spend at least 40+ on food. I'd rather go to another French and Vietnamese food establishment than this joint because there is no full disclosure of portion or whether the printed menu has a clear indication of whether the dish is an appetizer. While they claim that the quality of the food is high, I'm not sure I'd agree. My friend did not like his tuna tartare because the portion was small. I'd have to agree with him. It is frustratingly tiny. The baguettes were also super tiny and did not have much filling. The terrain was a bit tough and not easy to spread. Drinks are also overpriced. For one spring roll that is chopped up in 6 pieces, it is not worth 16$. Unless there is edible gold, the food pricing should be reassessed. Another example of their lazy service was the lack of care to follow instructions and split the damage bill. It really isn't asking much, and it isn't rocket science. This is irritating, and I hate feeling inconvenienced. For the prices they charge, it is a given that the food service should be much better than what was experienced! IMO, it's not worth coming back. I'd rather try another place or go for happy hour. It is deceptively well-decorated food that is not filling, nor is it something that is mind-blowing. Also, please get better staff. I didn't feel like the service was up to standard.

from our very first visit to linh café in october of 2021, we were captivated by its charm. it's become our go-to spot for hosting family, friends, and out-of-town guests. it's bright, spacious and upscale yet casual at the same time. the food is a blend of classic french and vietnamese cuisines, and it's always busy. the house-baked sourdough bread serves as a perfect sponge for all the rich sauces. pho bo, with its flavourful beef broth, is a must, especially when paired with their house-made pickled garlic chili, which adds a nice kick. the escargots, french fries, and red shrimp sautéed in garlic and butter are outstanding. i recommend coming with a group, to enjoy more dishes, family style. not gonna lie, i'm not a fan of chicken liver, but linh café's preparation of the dish with a creamy dijon mustard sauce was a pleasant surprise. we miss the burger and hope they bring it back on the menu. servers are friendly and attentive, clearing empty plates and refilling our waters.

I came here with my family on a Saturday. The interior design is much brighter than their older location and the aesthetic was very clean. We ordered three side dishes to start and tried their pho and steak and frites as our main. I liked the escargot the most out of the three starters and the pho's broth was also phenomenal. This review is not 5-stars because their service could have definitely been better. The night was busy so the servers were less attentive especially, no one filled our water when the glass was empty till the end of our meal. I will still come back because I love the food and the vibe of this place. If their service improves next time, they definitely deserve a 5-star review.

Great vibes, amazing food, ,terrible parking situation! Came here for lunch after hearing multiple amazing things about their complimentary fish sauce that pairs well with their complimentary bread. First off, trying to find parking here is horrendous. There's barely any parking spots available, especially with some construction going on, they blocked off even more spots. There's also a college beside so makes sense with the limited parking availability. However, we were here for the food which was great! The complimentary bread is unlimited and tastes amazing with the butter and complimentary fish sauce, which is spicy and garlicky YUM! The food: Viet coffee 7/10 - Pretty standard, nothing too over the top, but a great caffeine kick Yellowfin Tuna Tartare 9/10 - Refreshing, light and great for sharing. Tuna was fresh and light to the palette. Mussels 10/10 - A MUST GET! If i could drink the cream white wine sauce on it's own I would. Make sure to dip the bread into the sauce because it is aaaaah-mazing! banh mi cay hai phong - spicy baguette sticks 10/10 - They're small in size and looks like nothing special but it is amazing! Tasty chicken and pork liver pate inside that is creamy and flavourful. Another must get! Fresh black truffle risotto 4/10 - Skip this! Lacked flavour and didn't really taste the truffle at all. Also one of the more expensive items on the menu, sitting at $39. Fried frog legs 8/10 - It really does taste like chicken! It's super flavourful but definitely not something for me. I tried it, it was tasty, but just couldn't down it with the thought of it being frog (haha). Steak & Fries 10/10 - Originally came out as a well done steak even though we ordered medium rare. The staff were quick to fix the mistake and brought out the right order. It was such a good main dish to share with the table. Super tasty overall and great crisp to their fries. Pho Bo 5/10 - Can be a dish to skip. But was nice to have something soupy and warm. Love their fish sauce and bread items. Would be back for more!

Hands down one of my favourite finds in Vancouver. Paid parking is available nearby, just under the bridge where the downtown Vancouver chandelier art installation is. Every dish was balanced in flavour, with fresh ingredients and presentation was great. Staff were attentive to take our order and later clear the table of empty dishes. Decor is modern and the high ceilings really elevate the restaurant. Perfect to bring friends or family!

Beautiful, chic interior design. It's a little cramped but not too bad. When I first visited Linh Café, they were in another location, and the vibes were more cozy than chic. It felt homey in the old restaurant. I came for their pho (which is a cozy, homey meal for us) more than anything else. I think that might have been a mistake because this restaurant's menu and overall vibe seems to be going for upscale French-Vietnamese. I miss the old location's homey vibe, and I miss their poutine. Servers are friendly, and the food comes out in a timely fashion. Overall, it's a shame that they've changed so much because I'm not interested in yet another middling fusion restaurant that's trying to be fancy. Their prices have gone up to reflect this change, and I don't think the dishes are outstanding enough to live up to it. Paid parking lot.

Great ambiance, beautiful location that would be great for a fancy date or business meal. Downside is the food is average . shrimps were way overpriced , $80 for mushy shrimp . You can cook your own shrimp for $5 from Safeway and get bigger fresher shrimp in under an hour. . Lamb was good , not gamey. .pho was average . Service was prompt but over enthusiastic removing plates . You have to pay for parking to be near the restaurant

I'm normally not at odds with the masses. A tiny quarter cut of (sort of) duck confit was $45. A hamachi tartar was $26. A pork chop (best value) was $40. The margins generated by this place must be crazy. "Is this enough food?" We asked. "No, you'll need more for the table." Modern place which was inviting, but just baffling in its value proposition.

We came here for dinner last Saturday. We didn't have to wait very long for a table for three. It was lively and the decor was inviting. I had a bowl of beef pho with an add-on of bone marrow. The broth was rich and tasty and noodles felt freshly made. It was delicious. We also shared the foil gras parfait. I usually would not have ordered foie gras but our visiting friend picked the dish. It was very silky and it just melts in your mouth. The accompanying soft toasted broche was perfect for innard goodness. Unfortunately, I'm not able to give my experience more than 3 stars because of the service. While we were seated quickly and our orders were taken promptly, it was an effort to ask for our bills. We made eye contact 4 times with 2 different servers (we were served by more than 1 server). Every time, the server looked away immediately and tended to other neighbouring tables. We had to say "excuse us" to one of them to get their attention to our request. Service is part of the dining out experience. I hope the restaurant could pay more attention to their services as well as their food particularly when it still operates on the tipping system and the tips are probably shared with kitchen staff whose tips also depends in the services provided by the servers of which the kitchen staff have no control.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this French/Vietnamese fusion restaurant. The flavors of the majority of the dishes were superb. We had the Fried Frog Legs, Mimosa Salad, Pho Bo, and Red Shrimp. I liked the Mimosa Salad and Red Shrimp the most. The sauce of the shrimp was delicious, especially paired with the complimentary bread they serve. I never had frog legs before; I wouldn't have ordered it for myself, but it was a good opportunity to try something new and I enjoyed the flavor. Personally, I didn't particularly think the pho from here was anything special and have had better elsewhere. Parking is metered at the front of the restaurant.

Exellent service! Nice Ambiance! Diverse Food menu! This place has an upscale feeling plus a blend of French and Vietnamese elements in their design, which nicely resembles their concept of French and Vietnamese cuisine. Their high ceiling and mirrors make the place look more spacious. Overall decor is nice and they have both bar seating and cozy round booth seats plus areas that can accommodate larger group to dine in. But their design also makes the sound travel more and it can get loud if you sit in the middle of the restaurant. The place opens at 11am and doesn't take lunch reservations for two people. When we arrived at 11:26am, the booth seats were all fully occupied and the tables of 2 and 4 by the windows were quickly filling up. So I may recommend heading there for weekday lunch earlier to avoid wait or lines up. For our lunch we ordered the following: - foie gras and brioche - fried frog legs - squab - mini Pho with bone marrow I enjoyed their dishes which are richly flavored with either garlic or special herbs and sauces. My favorite dishes were the foie gras and their squab. Their Pho was decent but I think I have had more flavorful soup in traditional Mom and Pop style Vietnamese places that are definitely not as fancy as Linh cafe. Their chili sauce on the table is fresh and hot with true intensity great for spicing up your dishes if you like chili. You can even buy a jar to take home too. Their espresso martini was good as their choice of vodka is nice tasting and good quality. Their mimosa comes with freshly squeezed orange juice which was highly recommended by our server Adam. Prices on their menu jump from items less than $15 (such as the mini Pho) to items in the $50's (squab) with items priced around $22-26 (fried frog leg and foie gras). There are also caviar and full lobster dishes priced over $100 so your meal here can be on the pricey side if you are enticed to sample various dishes. I love having dessert at the end of a meal and had to pass on trying their chocolate tart. So I would say their portion size for their dishes is fair. Here's a note re: commute as I was pleasantly surprised on the various Google options to skytrain then take a bus transfer there, if you want to drink and not drive. I chose to get off at Stadium Chinatown skytrain and made it on the 11:15am bus #23 bus which only took around 6-8 minutes to get to Pacific and Richards Street. Walk up Pacific Street and you will find Linh Cafe on the left :) It was a nice sunny day and made for a delightful weekday lunchtime at Linh cafe!

I recently went to Linh on a random week night and had a really delicious meal. Highly recommend the pho with bone marrow. I wasn't sure what to expect but the bone marrow was delicious 5/5 * remember to ask for the hot sauce!* Mussels and fried 3.5/5 nothing blew my mind but was reasonable if you're craving Veal sweetbread 4/5 buttery and delicious Red beet salad 5/5 fresh and delicate

Follow the yellow brick road under the bridge to. Heavenly experience - upscale fusion vit spot that will leave you smiling and full. Duck, tartar , all the classics and it's a large joint Experience is great and good for large groups!

Pho and the fried frog are two of my must try recommendations. The cream puffs were always sold out so I bet it's good too!

Was walking around when we spotted this French Vietnamese brunch place. We were excited to try it! When you walk in you're greeted with beautiful decor. We got two Vietnamese coffees which were refreshing. The first one had a bit too much condensed milk and was very sweet but the second one was perfect. The meal comes with complimentary bread and butter. We ordered baguette sticks with pate and hot sauce, which were crispy and gooey inside, a duck rotisserie which was juicy and fall off the bone. The star of the show was the escargot with garlic butter and tomatoes. The tomatoes and garlic were absolutely amazing and we used it as a spread on the bread. Lastly we ordered a pho but it was disappointing - broth was very salty and not rich and beefy. Noodles were also not traditional pho noodles and had a strange texture. However overall we had a satisfying meal!

My favorite thing was the steak and frites! You must get that dish. We ordered a bit of everything from the steak and frites, pho, salad roll, red beet salad, mussels and a few desserts. Service was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed everything but it is on the pricy side. I also really like the chili sauce they give you on the side. It's a bit spicy but so good! Parking: Meter only

We were visiting Vancouver on vacation and had a different place in mind to eat. However it was unexpectedly closed for the weekend. We heard about Linh online and decided to try it. The place was welcoming with subway tile floors and wood furnishings. The service started out okay but our server might have been at the end of her shift because she disappeared. Management and other servers appeared to be having a meeting during this time. I was expecting a more extensive menu for a Vietnamese restaurant. The prices were a bit high and the spring roll and pho were just okay. The pho didn't taste like the broth I am used to in the states. They did have a house made pickled chili jar that came with the pho, but no hoisin or sriracha. We did enjoy the foie gras dish, which had a fruity sauce and some toast points. This is a Vietnamese restaurant with a French twist or, was it the other way around? I suppose we were looking for something a bit more authentic to Vietnamese food in Vancouver. This didn't quite hit the spot for us.

Linh Cafe is Vietnamese Fine Dining. Decor is beautiful with high ceiling, floor to ceiling windows, gold railings on the bannisters and lovely marble tables. Friendly servers too. Most memorable: Fries! They were "dry fluffy" and cooked to perfection! Pho with marrow, its a super rich and filling, non expense saved broth and it shows with the pricing. Beef tartar I was lost with how many seasoning added, also the looser texture made it weird. They do try to push alcoholic beverages which is fine, those are the money makers. We had an event post meal but would love to come back and try the bevies. Cons: It was very warm while dining, and the open kitchen didn't help as a few of us had the full view the entire time. Fine dining is usually in a cooler room. esp. on a 18C Vancouver day, it was sweltering in there and hard to eat. Also, every dish we've tried, from mussels, tartar, pho and of course fries. All of them were super heavy.

I thought the service here was excellent, 5 stars. They were all really nice from the person seating us to our server. The decor of the restaurant is really cute and French inspired. I really liked their esthetics and the atmosphere felt comfortable and welcoming. The food was very delicious as well. My boyfriend and I both ordered the pho. I added bone marrow to mine but they didn't include as much for how much the up charge is for it. The pho was really good but a bit too sweet. The spring rolls were fresh. I don't think they had any siracha but instead a house made fresh chili sauce. We were warned it was very spicy but it wasn't that bad for us. It tasted really fresh and has a perfect spice level. Put this on everything! I thought the price point for what the food was is a bit high but I understand the area the restaurant is located in... it's the norm.

The wait to be seated was less than 15 minutes. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with my dish. I ordered the Full Lobster with Provençal Style Sauce. I would not recommend. The lobster was undercooked and very slimy. However, I did enjoy the complimentary bread and butter.

Servers were fantastic. We had the beef Wellington, oysters and spring rolls. All was delicious. W

Came here 3 times during the 4 days we were Vancouver this time around. Got pho every time. No pics because we are it too fast.

Stopped by for dinner with a friend - reservation highly recommended because it does get very busy. The restaurant is beautiful and the service was a little lack lustre. Hard to flag down the server at times, hard to get water refilled. The food itself was pretty good! Had the escargot ($18) and steak tartare ($22) but these two appetizers were a little underwhelming. My favorite was the foie gras parfait ($22). The homemade brioche was perfect with the creamy and rich foie gras. The steak frites ($59) was also a star. Absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection.

Food is good, service was lackluster. The setting is quite nice but a bit loud as voices seemed to bounce around. Reservations aren't taken for small groups but we didn't have any issue getting a table. We only waited about 5-10 minutes for a table for 3 on Saturday night. Each person in our party ordered a dish as our main and then asked for an appetizer to share. Our server never came to our table again throughout the meal but she did seem to attend tables around us (stopping to check in on them, get more drinks etc.). We had planned to order something additional later but never had the chance. I had Pho - it was good. You could tell the broth was high quality - it gave that stickiness to your lips that comes from a long-stewed stock. The broth was the best bit - the beef was ok (more overcooked than I prefer but flavorful) and other than green onion and cilantro there was nothing else to go with the noodles/beef. We enjoyed the foie gras parfait - probably one of the best parts of the dinner. A large portion served with pillowy brioche that was perfect for sharing. After we finished dinner, we waited for some time hoping the server would stop by to take our plates and see what else we might need. Our server *never* checked in with us after our initial order, not even to get more drinks. I tried to flag her down when she was at a table about six feet away (refilling their water...) and as soon as she turned toward me, she put her head down. I thought she mustn't have seen me. She went back to the same table and again I raise my hand to catch her attention and she looked away. I tried a third time and felt like she was actively avoiding us at this point, maybe she was just busy, maybe she thought someone else was covering our table. I don't really know. The food was good - I can't fault them on that. The service though was really quite absent. I don't mind paying for a good/higher priced meal but I do expect service throughout the duration of our dining, which we did not receive.

We used to love this restaurant, but the menu has changed and some of the staff members are arrogant. So the jury is out. Doubtful we'll be back anytime soon.

My husband and I popped in the other night for a quick snack and we had their deep fried frog legs which were excellent! Juicy, flavourful and delicious. Happy to report that their bread/bun was back to its high quality flavour and crackling exterior. We also had their spring roll, which was "ok" - not nearly as flavourful and crunchy as at their West 4th location, but certainly nothing to complain about. We had something else, but I can't remember lol. The service was as always, friendly and excellent.

We are regulars at Linh cafe, and are very glad to have this restaurant in our neighborhood. The Pho is clean and we love the option to add bone marrow or an egg. Escargot, duck and everything else we've had has been top notch. This review would be 6 stars If they return the chili vinegar to the way it used to be. Please don't chop it so finely with all the seeds ruining the sauce!

Felt like family here. A couple of my friends were in Vancouver for the weekend and we went here 5-6 times just for their coffee. It was amazingly made and shaken in a cocktail shaker for a rich smooth flavor. We got so many coffees that the bartender would joke about his arms were hurting every time we came in haha. On our last visit we came in for some pho and it was honestly out of this world. It's not your typical south Vietnam pho that you see everywhere, but well made northern pho with emphasis on the broth and richness. 10/10 would come back another 6 times when I'm in the country again

We have driven past this restaurant several times and finally decided to go! So glad we did. It's reminds me of an old New York train station from another era but so much nicer and cleaner with extra high ceilings. This French Vietnamese eatery has many French dishes and a small selection of Pho and desserts. We had the following: Pho Bo which was generous with the beef brisket and noodles. The broth is excellent and flavourful without too many chemical additives. No bean sprouts, lime wedges, basil or hoisin and siracha here. But they do have a pickled spicy garlic sauce that you can buy! Super tasty! We also ordered the terrine which was excellent and their fries are super hot and crispy/crunchy. We didn't have space to try any desserts but we'll be back!

The steak with the sauce is legendary, I was sad the escargot was de shelled . Highly recommended to get the steak!!!

There's a lot of parking in the area which is great! The space inside has tall ceilings and its very modern. The food is great too, but I find its a bit expensive when compared to other similar establishments. Their pho soup I find to be just okay, but their beef brisket is insanely tender and I could see the effort they put in to make it stand out.

The food is amazing and very different from your usual Vietnamese restaurant The pho is great but I am a huge fan of the other dishes they had such as the Yellowfin Tuna Tartare and the Spicy Baguette sticks Ambiance is also very nice and comfortable My only issue is probably the service. When it gets busy it takes a long time to get attention from the staff. When trying to get a table it took way too long and they didn't have a good system on putting your name on the list

3.5 My first visit at this location was mostly enjoyable. We arrived as the restaurant opened on a weekend for a sibling brunch date expecting a long line up. Fortunately, we were early enough to be seated almost immediately. Several items on the menu jumped out at me, and in the end we ordered the half-size Pho with bone marrow (+3.50), Spicy Baguette Sticks (3x$4.00) and Fried Frog Legs. Food came out very quickly with fresh warm bread to enjoy with our coffees (5/5!). Pho flavour profile: The broth itself was nothing to rave about. It did not taste very pho-brothy. Brisket was quite tough and surprisingly dry. Pho itself was good and the bone marrow added more depth to the dish. Portion size: good enough to share. Despite the shortcomings, I liked the dish but recommend ordering the half size to share. 3.5/5 Frog Legs: Juicy. Garlicky. Tasty. Yum. 4/5 Spicy Baguettes: Different. They were nice and warm, with a good balance of heatx2. Not the most thoughtful presentation, as it looked like three finger sized hot dogs on a plate. I'm a little torn on this, as I did like the unique flavours but was happy with having only 1. I'd recommend to try but probably would not reorder. Service: Conflicting. Our server was likely very new. She seemed lost between customers and opted to hover at our table 2/3 of the meal and then surreptitiously disappeared. Our utensils were removed after placing our orders and we ended up eating part of the meal with our hands. Plates were also collected abruptly while we were still working on them and my sister was actually reaching for something, when a not-yet-finished dish was taken away. We felt like we were eating a bit at a busy cafeteria but we could see that the rush came and went quickly. Glad to finally get to have a meal here. Seating was comfortable with a nice view to capture the outstanding decor.

A Vietnamese and French fusion restaurant that honestly deserves more than 5 stars. Hands down one of the favorite Vancouver restaurant. The spicy baguette was very interesting (think it's liver paste) literally blend of Vietnamese and French cuisine. The mussels are also absolutely amazing especially the sauce is not heavy like some traditional French mussels. Lamb chops are also very very well made and tender. If you like lamb, I highly suggest. Last but not least the pho with the spicy sauce is exquisite. If you are a fan, make sure you try it with the bone marrow it literally just melts in your mouth. PARKING: - There is some paid parking spots near the restaurants otherwise residential parking is free

Went here for a solo lunch and was so disappointed. It was super crowded but didn't have to wait long for a table ~10 minutes. Ordered the liver + pho + Viet coffee. Liver was overly cooked and tough to chew. Rich dish and the sauce was great -just the liver being way overcooked was disappointing. And there was no baguette to mop up the sauces, boo. Pho. I've tried many variations and c'mon, I'm from Orange County, CA where there's a pho shop at every corner. I've never had pho that was served with nuoc mam ngot. I asked for hot sauce, the server said the restaurant didn't have any. I asked for hoison sauce, didn't have that either. The broth was good but the noodles, a bit hard. I took a few sips but ended up to-going. Coffee, tasted like Vietnamese beans with the familiar bitter notes but whoever made it, it was diluted/watery. Great decor, not much parking. Questionable food.

The food is delicious but our server the young South Korean lady, Lia is so amazing! She's very helpful, gave an exemplary professional service. She has such a lovely personality and always smiling. She was efficient and so hospitable! Lia got all our orders correctly. She's such an asset to Lihn Cafe! The ambiance is great! Cool decor!

Beautifully located under the Granville bridge, I must say they did a great job with the relocation. Very spacious and esthetically pleasing. The only down side is finding parking and getting there. We started off with their chicken liver, french escagot and vietnamese coffees. We ordered their pho but unfortunately they forgot our order and we waited almost an hour for them to the point where we didn't feel like eating them anymore. Future reference, I would say you could just order one pho to share as it was quite a bit for everything. They did offer us some dessert to apologize for the miscommunication. As we went on their first week of opening their new location, I can understand that they are still getting use to the area so mistakes can happen. Overall it's still a great place to go for lunch or dinner and I would go back again.
