"At the entrance to this restaurant overlooking the elegant Piazza Lino in Pavia’s historic centre, you can either head into the main dining room which houses the gourmet Michelin-starred restaurant or into the bistro which serves simpler fare. In the former, Andrea Ribaldone and resident chef Valerio Tafuri serve a series of themed tasting menus (from which you can also order individual dishes) which are highly creative and elaborate, and include occasionally exotic ingredients. I think we expected a bit more, therefore ended up slightly disappointed. Very long waiting for the food, although the usual Italian kind service. Tasty burger, rather small portion of primi (spaghetti), which was too oily. We get a free dessert, a plain crème with some this and that… I had better but it is not bad.

*Bistrot experience* Elegant setting, pleasant atmosphere and attentive service. Lunch menu was varied. Food was good, but not as good as I would have imagined considering the possible overlap with/spillover from its 1-star Michelin restaurant (I repeat we dined in the bistrot, which does not have that star rating). Selection of breads in the bread basket were delicious and were gobbled up rather quickly! Starter portions were not particularly generous so if your appetite is big, go for all courses. The polpo del mediterraneo was particularly noteworthy for the crunchiness of the vegetables and the tenderness of the octopus. We were taken aback with the size of the cotoletta di vitello that filled the entire plate!! Desserts were a little disappointing.

This is my favorite restaurant in Pavia. I’ve eaten in both the Restaurant (pre fixe menu) and the Bistrot and both are fantastic. The service is very friendly and the food is amazing. On my most recent trip I had a delicious burrata appetizer and risotto. Would definitely recommend!

Very nice restaurant, we tried a cuadro (which is a plate with different diseases to try) but now we would like to try more dishes. We'll be back to Pavía to do so! In any case, our waitress wasn't the nicer but the rest of the staff was very cool. Don't miss it, try the first Michelin star at Pavía

Refined, visually appealing, and tasty to boot. Had a wonderful dinner here of beef tongue, gnudi, branzino and pistachio absolute. A true delight!
