Where to begin. A friend and I visited the splendiferous Linthwaite House Hotel today for afternoon tea. |To start we were greeted by Chris, the smiley faced groundsman, as soon as got out of the car. He led us to the terrace and showed us the stunning view. Truly a sight to behold, you can see Lake Windermere and all the mountains behind, Coniston Old Man included. |Once inside a lovely chap met us at reception and told us we could sit wherever we wanted for our tea. He showed us round and we decided on a table in the bar by the patio doors. Once sat, the excitement began. The table was laid and the tea was brought. I have added photos, exquisite, divine and ultimately delicious. Savory treats, sandwiches including white lake goats curd with onion and beetroot chutney, mushroom and chicken beignet, prawn salad and toasted brioche. Sweet treats including 'Tirami-Choux' bun, and my favourite, yoghurt, lemon and strawberry gateaux. Delectable. We both tried a mocktail, very refreshing on such a warm day. Jasmine talked us through the menu, expertly knowledgeable on each one.|After tea we moved into the lounge and studied all the amazing art and looked through books available for all to read. A delightful room.|We were given a tour of the grounds by Rhiannon, up to the viewpoint and the boating lake to see the ducks with their ducklings. So cute. This young lady had an extremely courteous manner, knowledgeable of her surroundings and of course had a cheery smile on her face. As all the staff were. At no point did we feel rushed by anyone. Staff were always visible but not in your face. They are all very professional and a credit to the company. Be proud of them all. |I would love very much to visit again and I'm sure we will in the not to distant future, I hope. I'd love to see the grounds in the autumn too. |Thank you so much for a remarkable experience, it was an utter pleasure, satisfaction for your senses guaranteed.
