Google
Lioco and Michael specifically was an absolutely wonderful addition to our girls trip. We were only in town for 3 days and visited Lioco every evening even after saying we didn’t want to be repeat customers anywhere so we’d continue trying new places. That’s how great this place was. The group favorite was easily the Tidal Break chard, but the best part was easily Michael. He was so kind and knowledgeable and simply made our trip that much more fun. If we ever make it back to Sonoma/Headlesberg, we will definitely be back.

Google
Had a great experience wine tasting on the patio. Our server/wine expert was amazing. The wines were interesting, different than what we're used to from Oregon wine country. Overall, had a fantastic time.

Google
Never even got a chance to taste the wine. I was a walk-in and was completely ignored for 6 or 7 minutes. Then we he finally acknowledged me he was very inhospitable. I waited with the menu for another 3 minutes. He had 2 other tables, a four top and a 2 top. He spent time with them before he came back to me, and was not hospitable again. So I said good bye and left.

Google
Delicious light-bodied, expressive wines. Pinot and Chardonnay plus some yummy outliers like Cortese and Carignane. Make sure to tip Mike in the Tasting Room - he's a highly educated wine pro with practical experience in production. For an industry that can only afford youngsters and retirees, it's not everyday you'll get an expert with as much passion. The TR is beautiful and dreamy and feels like being on the Coast! Highly recommend! Yum.

Google
My favorite tasting room to stop by in Healdsburg!! My host Michael was so knowledgeable and kind. The director of hospitality dropped by and always makes it the most comforting home away from home. Check it out if you’re ever on the plaza!!

Google
Lioco is a tried and true stop whenever we come into Healdsburg. The wines are excellent and the tasting room is relaxed, yet refined. Andrew always guides us along a special tasting experience and shares his knowledge while making us feel like long time friends. Thank you for the hospitality!

Google
LIOCO for the win again!! I stopped in yesterday for a “between holidays” breather, and as always it was top-notch. Whether settling in at the bar or an outdoor table on a sunny day, I find the atmosphere is always relaxed and fun! I am always welcomed warmly by a wine-savvy staff member. I’m partial to the refreshing chardonnays, and have been known to take home a bottle or two, but I also love the pinot noirs - so aromatic and smooth. Check it out!

Google
I attend a lot of wine tastings and love the thrill of discovering hidden gems by chance. However, there’s something equally exciting about booking an elevated tasting experience and sharing it with special friends. Unfortunately, this winery completely missed the mark. Despite having a reservation, we were left waiting for our host (Michael) and the room to be prepared while they prioritized walk-ins at the bar. The lack of attention right from the start was disappointing. There was no clear explanation of what the tasting would include, and no introduction to the wine club or what else the winery had to offer, leaving us feeling disconnected from the overall experience. To make matters worse, they didn’t listen to our specific requests and kept passing us between different servers, making the whole experience feel disjointed and impersonal. The so-called ‘private’ room was anything but private, and the inattentiveness of the staff only added to the frustration. For an elevated tasting experience, this was far from luxurious. A group willing to pay for a high-quality wine experience expects more, and this winery could take a page out of other wineries’ books when it comes to delivering a premium service. Sadly, I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for a special, prebooked experience.

Yelp
Very nice wines. They are known for their Chardonnay and Pinot noirs. There is a $25, $35 and $45 tasting. With the $25 you get 4 tastes and the $45 you get 6 tastes. What a nice place to hang out and sip wine. The interior is deco modern and it's walking distance to some restaurants in the heart of the downtown area.

Yelp
Great selection of Chardonnays and Pinots! Popped in for a glass as I was heading home, and ended up tasting my way through half their whites. They source grapes from all over coastal California, and I am a big fan of their Russian River Valley and Anderson Valley chardonnays. Ended up getting a glass of their 2019 Casa Seca Vineyard and enjoyed the flinty tangerine notes while I chilled at the bar, chatting with Mike. Mike was a wealth of knowledge, and not only shared insights to Lioco's wines, but also fun food recommendations. Definitely worth a visit if you're walking the square!

Yelp
Saturday June 12 is #NationalRoséDay! Have you tried Lioco's Rosé of Carignan? It's summer in a bottle and a current Rosé crush! ROSÉ OF CARIGNAN - WINE PROFILE (from their website) AROMA: cilantro, fresh-picked strawberry, rhubarb FLAVOR: watermelon juice, seashell, white grapefruit FOOD PAIRINGS: guacamole + chips, shrimp in olive oil + lemon, beet-cured lox Love the hint of grapefruit flavor! Their hip tasting room is conveniently located just off the Healdsburg Plaza (entrance on Matheson Street, across from Oakville Grocery). We enjoyed indoor tastings pre-pandemic and then picked up wine for home during the pandemic. They built a beautiful outdoor parklet, in their signature grey/white/yellow color scheme and it's on our list to return to. Last summer they offered another unique and special Rosé: Ojo de Perdiz. I don't see it on the website, but if you go, ask about it. We loved that one too!

Yelp
A great spot to sip wine on the edge of the Healdsburg town square. Although the wines are generally 'high acid', they weren't overly acidic - overall, great and fairly unique wines. This place also had a great vibe (fun vs. stuffy and pretentious) - very well thought out. A bonus is that the polished concrete floors are very inviting on a hot summer day.

Yelp
I came here after it being recommended to us by 2 different wineries. We walked in and were seated immediately. The waiter took our order, brought us our glasses of wine and that was it. Never explained the wines to us and never came back to check on us. We had to wave someone down to finally get the bulk after being there for about an hour. The waiter was extremely personable and helpful to the people next to us but couldn't even give us baseline customer service. I sat there with an empty water glass for about 30 minutes and finally had to just get up and get it myself after the waiters passed us 5 times. The waiter even saw me do this and didn't take that as a hint to come check on us. I would never go here again and would never recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
This was our second stop on our wine tasting Saturday. I saw another review which makes more sense- but we asked to share 2 tastings between 3 people. After this, our waiter barely gave us the time of day. The table next to us got waters, a spit bucket, and full service. We weren't given that at all. At the end of our tasting, we were not asking if we wanted to revisit or even wanted to buy any wine either. Shame that sharing a tasting was so looked down upon. It was so unwelcoming and I won't be back.

Yelp
I hesitantly recommend this spot- it's got cool decor, a prime location and the wines are tasty. Unfortunately despite the reservation they sat us in the back at the tables closest to the restrooms which ultimately tainted our otherwise good experience. I suggest eliminating these tables because people kept interrupting our experience for their bio breaks- which is expected so why have this table an option? It also smelled heavily of bleach (which I suppose is better than the alternative considering our proximity to the toilets) but ruined the wine tasting nonetheless. Side note- the server gave me a little grief that I don't prefer white wine and wanted to mix up my tasting to only include reds. As a bartender myself here's a friendly tip to improve your tips- if allowable by the owners, give the customer what they want without guilting them for their preferences. The wine was good so I'd return - but only if I score an outdoor seat.

Yelp
had a little extra time to spend in healdsburg after lunch before we headed to our wine tasting reservation in st helena so we were looking for a wine bar that offer wine by the glass rather than a full tasting & was so pleasantly surprised by this place! it was very cute, chic & a great place to cool off inside from the 100° heat! they have a great selection of chardonnays and pinot noirs but i got the rose of carignan and it was exactly what i was looking for! we were with a group of 7 total and the only ones inside & the bar tender andrew was so nice and friendly & chatted with us about the cute little town and his previous life as a new yorker (very relatable for our east coast group visiting) and just make the whole experience much more pleasant for us!

Yelp
Had a very nice tasting last week at Lioco. Not only is the wine delicious but the server and the ambience added to this special experience. I highly recommend stopping by if in Healdsburg, you won't be disappointed

Yelp
My husband and I did a tasting room buy-out at Lioco for our welcome drinks the day before our wedding and we cannot say enough amazing things! The tasting we did to pick wines was so easy and fun & the event went off so beautifully. The team that was working our event was incredible - all of our guests kept commenting on how great the service was and of course their space is so beautiful with top notch wines (of course we're members now!). We had the best event here, highly recommend!

Yelp
Very nice tasting room for those who are looking to taste wine created in the leaner European style, which is what I look for. Might not be for everyone especially if you are fans of the butter bomb chardonnays.

Yelp
We had a great Sunday afternoon Tasting at Lioco. Very personable staff, that was engaging and knowledgable. The wines in one single word, Outstanding. As an industry veteran, I rarely go out to tasting rooms, as I live in Napa and work for a winery group. But I had the pleasure of trying Lioco at Gramercy Tavern on a recent trip to NYC, and took a mental note that once I returned I would delve deeper into the portfolio as I am a huge fan of the light-handed approach to winemaking. The lineup did not disappoint, and we came away with 6 bottles to add to our collection. Keep up the great work guys!

Yelp
First stop in Healdsburg , we got out the uber and went straight in. The moment we walked we were greeted with smiles and taken to a table. One of the owners took great care of us as we sip and was educated on the vineyards . We loved the atmosphere the music was old school and sooo on point for group like us who just wanted to sip, laugh and chill. I would suggest adding little breadsticks to the table and bar !!!

Yelp
We stopped here while waiting for a table at a restaurant nearby. The wine was good, the service was great. Cool little patio area, we will definitely return.

Yelp
We did 5 tastings this weekend but the highlight was Lioco. Ali was a wonderful host and the wines were excellent. Recommend the omakase tasting.

Yelp
Experience was "meh".. asked about a tasting and response was we are pouring by the glass... huh? Isn't this a tasting room? Anyway, wines were mediocre, ambiance lacking, service sketchy.. overall recommendation-- go to Stephen & Walker, fabulous experience!

Yelp
Wandered in since we wanted some respite from the hot weather and glad we made it here! Molly was the BEST and gave us such a wonderful tasting experience. Since they source from different vineyards they had lots of variety in their selection and we enjoyed everything we tasted. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend coming here!

Yelp
I love, love, love this winery tasting room. Their wines are INCREDIBLE. Every single one of them are delicious. The venue is also beautiful and the staff members are all very friendly and provide great service. I have been here a few times and it never disappoints. They have a variety of tasting menu options and you can also pick your own to try. They also offer the option of just ordering a glass or bottle of wine if you are not the "wine tasting" type. I like that because it gives you options. I have to mention the wines again because they are exceptional. All of their white wines are very unique. None of the chardonnays are "buttery" like the classic chardonnay, which is a huge plus for me. They are round and soft and complex and delicious. You could blindly order any one of them and be completely content. Their pinot noirs are also quite special. Very delicious. The only small complaint is that their wines are quite expensive. I get why, it is because their wines are exceptional. Their prices are reflective of their quality. But, if you aren't looking to spend $30 plus on whites and $50 plus on reds, this may not be your spot. Note: they have a great special on Fridays for locals. Come in the afternoon/evening for a glass of wine or a bottle with a few friends and your price is half off. You can't leave with your bottle purchase so it has to be enjoyed with friends on site, but this is a great deal! Half off is amazing.

Yelp
Super great people. Check them out!! Wines are good. Sauvignon blanc was excellent.

Yelp
Amazing rosé (don't miss the Ojo de Perdiz), attentive and fun staff and delicious wines! We have been members for a year and cannot be happier with the overall experience!

Yelp
Hooray! A real live place for all-you-can-drink (basically) Lioco wines?! Too good to be true! We've been drinking Lioco for years. My husband has a distinctly European palate when it comes to wine, so he was thrilled when he came across Lioco as one of the first local winemakers that he knew of making European-style wines at a reasonable price point. Whenever we saw Lioco on a menu, we ordered it! (THEIR gruner originally turned us on to gruner. RIP Lioco Gruner. RIP :( ) We were so excited when we heard about the tasting room opening in Healdsburg. We make the trek from San Francisco to Healdsburg often, but had recently been a bit underwhelmed with our old faves. Enter: Lioco! We love the vibe, the music, and of course the wine. Highly recommend for anyone looking for easy-drinking wines and a low-key but FUN atmosphere.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped by the Lioco tasting room this morning on our way out of town. We were a bit tired from a marathon dinner the night before and almost skipped it, but are glad we spent time in their new space and with Matt, one of the owners. It is beautifully designed, which extends from the bottles and wine quite well. Matt is a truly invested individual, passionate about the craft as much as he was about having a human, warm, friendly and informative conversation to strangers. We learned about the origins of their wines, which are inspired by European wines and entirely designed around food. The grapes are chosen from vineyards all over California so the range of flavors is wonderfully diverse. What that results in, then, are interesting, complex, unique wines that have an actual story and intent behind them. Our stop at Lioco was a perfect way to end our short trip to Healdsburg. We walked out with a box of bottles we're excited to drink, and are looking forward to another trip to the tasting room.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere with cool vibe but better wine and service elsewhere. Do not recommend
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
The tasting room is pretty good sized with a nice bar and tables. They have quite a few wines to taste from including quite a few pinot noirs. We weren't wild about any of the wines and also thought $30 for a tasting with credit only on purchases over $100 was pretty steep.

Yelp
The wine was whew at, but for two stars because of the service, I think the tall guy with the beard share his job

Yelp
WOW... I don't recall the last time my wife and I were so disrespected at an establishment that is trying to earn my business. Having been in the Russian River wine country, having a fantastic day tasting great wines at Thomas George and Copain, I unfortunately allowed the people at Lioco to ruin my day. Having been a wine club member at Copain for several years and after visiting them last Saturday and spending thousands of dollars on wine between the two vineyard's, the Copain people suggested we visit Lioco, just off the square in Healdsburg. Given I was driving and had been tasting wines the previous 4 hours, my wife and I chose to only purchase one of their tastings, mainly for my wife, however I decided I would have a tiny taste as well. Apparently when telling the server that we would share a tasting (without my explanation why) that made server (a very tall man) irate, and he clearly discounted us as being serious potential customers. As we were sitting and essentially being ignored by the server, a number of locals showed up at the table next to us. They were treated like royalty. The owner of Lioco (Matt) came out to them and brought them their wine immediately as well shared some food which he made clear that he would not charge them. It is interesting that no one at Lioco seemed to care about their potential new business prospects, only to bend over backwards to cater to their existing customers. I would highly discourage anyone from adding this establishment to their list of places to to try. The overall experience was extremely disappointing.

Yelp
Not sure why it took two months to respond to the Yelp review Matt. Scroll down and you'll see a bunch of similar reviews. Gotta change the culture my man, unless it just doesn't matter to you. Feels like it doesn't.

Yelp
Great, contemporary tasting room with wonderful staff. Everyone was so warm and welcoming and full of fantastic information. Brandon kept us laughing throughout our tasting and the charcuterie platter was awesome (if you don't get it, just order a side of the crackers - they will change your life.). Must-stop spit while shopping and touristing in Healdsburg!

James K.

Yelp
I've been a big fan of their wines for a long time. Very excited to have them in town. Perfect place to bring guests or stop by for a glass of wine before dinner. Supremely elegant wines. For those who don't like the big oaky, buttery style of Chardonnay (like me), these definitely fit the bill. And their Pinot Noir is sooooo aromatic and crazy delicious. If they happen to have a bottle of Sativa open, be sure to ask for a taste. Welcome to Healdsburg, LIOCO!

Rhonda S.

Yelp
Last week my husband and I were in Healdsburg, and came across the LIOCO wine tasting room in the middle of downtown, off town square. We were so excited because we have ordered their wines in many restaurants in Los Angeles. The tasting room is new and decorated so beautifully. The staff was professional and extremely helpful as they explained the LIOCO wines. We even got to meet the owners, Sara and Matt Licklider, who were so welcoming and charming. They took so much time with us and explained the history of their company and how they source the grapes. Our favorite white was the La Marisma chardonnay. There was no pressure to buy, but we ended up taking home an assorted case of their wines. If you get to Healdsburg, make sure you visit the LIOCO tasting room. Such fun!!

Yelp
Fabulous wine. Fabulous owners. Fabulous tasting room. A welcomed new addition to the town square and, not to mention, one of the BEST local wines around.
google avatar

Yelp
I have a 20 year history of food and wine and it is my passion. I've lived on the Napa side and now Sonoma County for the past 10 years and will say This is my absolute favorite winery In Sonoma County. Their pinots are amazing and they are the closest thing to Burgundy in California. Alcohol levels are low, balance fruit and the rustic hints of flavors like mushrooms and soil, not jammy, over extracted, cotton candy fruit bombs California Pinots have become known for. Amazing wines overall. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Mellanie M.

Yelp
Beautiful! This place is awesome and the wine is really good! Love the music and the ambience! Cozy and warm!
google avatar

Leah V.

Yelp
My new favorite tasting room! I was already a fan of LIOCO wines and the space stands up to its contemporary reputation. City vibes without the attitude. Can't wait to book a private tasting in the side room soon!

Yelp
Very nice tasting room, nice staff... unfortunately, none of us really liked the wine. The tasting fees were exorbitant, for what you get (4 average size pours for $20 or $30). The tasting fees would be waived with a purchase that we also thought were too high ( I want to say it was $60/$100).

Michelle B.

Yelp
Molly was wonderful, informative, funny, engaging and energetic; couldn't ask for more from her. The indoor tasting room had a great contemporary look and feel to it, but we tasted outside on the sidewalk so much of the experience was lost. We tasted a variety of chardonnays and enjoyed the "burgundian" style, but we've had better at the same price point. Still, we did walk away with two bottles. One of the owners, Matt, was on site and chatted with the guests at the tables on either side of us (there were 4 tables total), but was seemingly uninterested in conversation with us. Perhaps we skewed the age curve toward geriatric too much to be proper candidates for wine banter? Whatever the reason, it felt disappointing.. No tasting comp despite buying 2 bottles of wine and small bites with our tasting. In all I'd find another place until inside tastings are happening again. Maybe the vibe indoors would have made the experience pop for us....

Courtney S.

Yelp
We visited this tasting room on our girl's weekend upon recommendation of another winery. The wines were our favorite of the weekend. The atmosphere is modern and relaxed. Sarah was fabulous as out hostess. Highly recommend!

Natalie H.

Yelp
We stumbled upon their tasting room a few weekends ago, it was their second day open. The vibe is hip but low key. They have great seating and we loved the bar. We spent quite a while here tasting and then sipping on a few glasses. Matt and Sarah are gracious hosts, the staff was very warm and welcoming. It was refreshing to be somewhere that appreciates locals. Wine is light and delicious, and the chips are the perfect snack. We will certainly be back!

Lucinda S.

Yelp
Brandon and Matt were so accommodating, friendly and educated in their lioco wine tasting. Matt is an owner and Brandon is the tasting manager. They explained everything, provided a generous pour and gave my sister mom and I a wonderful experience. I am buying a bottle of the Rose to go because that and the Pinot Noir we're BOMB DOT COM. also the modern vibe was sheek AF.

Robert S.

Yelp
My wife and I were recommended to try Lioco by another winery. We stopped to taste wines before heading to dinner. The atmosphere is great and it is a great place to sit with friends, listen to vinyl, and chill out. Unfortunately when we arrived, we were told they were only pouring glasses (no flights) without explanation, so our tasting was out. We were initially greeted and then forgot about as the staff started preparing to close out for the day, despite being open for another hour. We had to learn about the wines from reading the bottle labels rather than discussing them with the staff. We ordered two pinots noirs from different areas of Mendocino county. They were both so bright and acidic. I didn't mind experiencing them, but if it was a tasting, I would have dumped and moved on. Unfortunately, we were stuck with them. We spent the next hour sitting at the bar with the staff cleaning out the open stock for the day, which appeared they had plenty of open bottles from which we could have easily done a flight, had it been offered. So overall, not a great experience but a lot of potential. UPDATE: Received a reply from the owner almost immediately with an explanation on the glass decision. We fully understand the craziness with the Winter WINEland event and how it effects customer service. Unfortunately we only had one shot to have this experience as we were visiting from the East Coast otherwise we would have taken the owners up on the offer for a redo. I'm raising the rating to account for their customer service efforts and the very quick and effective response.

Sara M.

Yelp
So thrilled for this addition to the square! My husband, friends and I are all fans of the wine - and they certainly have something for everyone - but truly have never gone wrong with a single one of their pinot noirs. The cherry on top of course is this fun and pretty tasting room with easy vibes and good people. We come visit from the East Bay often and recommend Lioco as a must a stop for anyone visiting Healdsburg!

Diva G.

Yelp
If you want amazing wines, like having fun while drinking great wines, and amazing host with beautiful smiles this is the place to be! One of the newest additions to Healdsburg Square. The atmosphere is the best and everyone is welcome. Brandon, Liz, and Matt (the owner) are absolutely amazing! You can not go wrong stopping by this tasting room.

Todd L.

Yelp
I took the opportunity with a couple close buddies to check out the new LIOCO Tasting Room in Healdsburg during a recent weekend. Our winetasting expectations were relatively high, as we were all familiar with LIOCO wines, based upon our many dining experiences enjoying LIOCO at several high end restaurants in Los Angeles and San Francisco. What we didn't expect was the wonderful experience of walking into the unique, informal, yet beautifully designed tasting room with a very inviting main bar, surrounded by a small grouping of tables and large private room, all catering to different size groups. There is a very clear, cool vibe created within the tasting room, whether you experience it as a small or large group. The music from the turntable at the bar playing classic vinyl albums provides another unique touch. The Staff is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about the product, and they totally make you feel welcome and appreciated no matter what your knowledge level is about wine. Thoroughly enjoyable experience!
