Don’t miss this new resto for great Cantonese style Chinese restaurant. just look at the hosts’/owners’ darling ensemble that matches the decor. * No Liquor… assuming you can byob or order Uber Eats. We had the butter garlic noodles & the typhoon shelter grouper.

Wow this is definitely our new go-to spot for Chinese food! Authentic, super delicious and fresh. The inside of this restaurant is nicely lit and very clean. Speedy service too the aunties working are very friendly. Food came out piping hot. Great portion sizes too! What we ordered: - Mongolian beef: so yum, tender beef - Fried chicken wings: crispy! - Dry fried green beans: flavorful and fresh - Pork & cabbage dumplings: fresh and delish - Salt & Pepper squid: crispy and nicely seasoned Will definitely come back to try more on the menu.

In terms of service, they were obviously pressured and understaff but still manage to serve with a smile and vibrant attitude. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is quiet despite having a full house. Maybe some low volume music would help. In terms of the food. We ordered a few dishes and they were all generally quite good and portions were big with prices tending to be on the lower side so that's a plus. The string beans is a must. I think my least favorite would be the beef fried noodles with tomatoes. I was not expecting it to be sweet, and it was a bit too sweet for my liking.

Great addition to the neighborhood after YanYan closed down. Ample seating, pretty clean and bright space. Pricing is pretty decent, $14-20 for family style sizing. Current grand opening deals as of 9/9/25: $10.99 entree specials or 10% off regular menu. We tried the salt & pepper grouper, which was well seasoned and super tender. Will definitely order this again. Also tried the dry fried string beans which was alright, and Kung pao chicken with white chicken breast and had a kick but too many peanuts. Each entree came with a serving of white rice. Down the block from N Judah and 28th muni stop. Wheel chair accesible (no stairs and large front door). Street parking only. Credit cards accepted, cash always appreciated.

Sunday early afternoon, mostly old chinese people eating here, place was clean, decor was cute and service was prompt. Pan fried noodles came with a bit too much gravy, for my taste, so they all became a bit soggy mid meal, instead of having a nice range of textures. But the flavor was good and there were generous toppings

4.9 stars over all? I think this is a solid 5 stars! Really awesome, super friendly staff that just makes the entire experience so fun! The Beef with Broccoli was really good, as are the Dumplings were great, but we all agree that the star of the night is hands down the AMAZING sweet and sour chicken! Next time we come in, it's a double order of sweet and sour chicken!! 💙💙💙💙💙

The food was fresh, the portions were generous, and the staff was welcoming. We had a great dinner. My kids especially enjoyed the wonton soup. We live in the neighborhood and are so happy to see this place finally open!

This is a takeout staple! I really enjoy the following dishes: - Salt and pepper grouper: not spicy despite having two pepper signs, a good amount of crispy and not oily - Signature pan fried noodles: even as takeout this is kept so crispy and pairs well with accompanying food & sauce - Sweet and sour pork: great flavor and sauce - Fish flavored eggplant: the naming is a bit strange, it's not too fishy (a good thing). Good texture and tasty sauce They're very friendly over the phone and prepared the food in a reasonable time.

I was excited to try the sweet and sour grouper, but... wow. It tasted like dirt. The sauce is good, but it can't save the fish itself. Honestly, I ended up throwing it away. On the plus side, the staff is friendly, and the restaurant is clean.

Excellent neighborhood Chinese restaurant dishing out great food at value pricing. No fancy live seafood tanks or specialties dishes here, just mostly staples like stir-fried noodles, dumplings, and wok-fried dishes. Sometimes, you just want simple classic dishes and Lion Kitchen deliver this in spades. Nothing is overly seasoned or oily but everything was tasty. I highly recommended this place for a no frill dinner or take out when you don't want to cook.

I've been meaning to check out Lion Kitchen for a few months and finally tried it this past week. Three of us had lunch on a weekday so it wasn't too busy. We were able to grab a table easily. We also recognized one of the lady servers, who used to work at a restaurant on Judah that closedown. It was nice to see a familiar face! The place was brightly lit and welcoming. ***OUR PICKS*** BEEF CHOW FUN ~ this was a good dish with generous portions. Good "wok hay", flavorful and seasoned well. 5/5 SALT AND PEPPER PORK CHOPS ~ lightly crispy and not a thick batter, so you can taste the meat and not just batter. 4.5/5 STIR FRIED GREEN BEANS ~ a bit spicier than I thought it would be, but the spice was tolerable. I think I would have asked for it to be less spicy, but if you like moderate heat, this one's for you! The beans were made just right and not over or undercooked. 4/5 HOME STYLE TOFU ~ filled with vegetables and tofu. comforting dish, yet also a bit spicy. 4/5 Everything we ordered, we were satisfied with. Prices are reasonable, especially for lunch plates! We'll definitely be back to try other dishes!

One of the best authentic Chinese resteraunts! Let me start by saying wow, Cat is amazing! The food is fresh, flavorful and delicious. The service was beyond great, even with it being one person taking the orders .. she's busy but knows how to get to everyone. You can tell she loves her job and making people happy. Beyond just the service and food , the ambiance makes you feel at home with a homely vibe. The prices are also very affordable and the portions are huge. Definitely recommend this resteraunt if you're looking for authentic Chinese food .

Not only is this hole in the wall super clean and bright, the food is delicious (tastes like home cooking-- if only I was a good chef)! Hard to find this level of portion and quality for the price nowadays. Looks like a family run business. If you like fish and chips, get the salt pepper grouper! It's lightly fried, not too oily while the fish is buttery and flakey. Love the shallots and jalapeño bits it's topped with. The chicken, shrimp, eggplant clay pot was also very good! As was the house special fried noodle. The beef chow fun was good but I wish there was more beef. Also love their chive and pork dumplings. *Note: there is a surcharge for credit card payment so cash is best.

New place unlocked. Great Vibes. Great Food for the price! I was in the area and saw this new place, so we dropped in for dinner. The $11.99 special offer menu sold us, and we couldn't resist. What we got: - Salt and Pepper Group ~ Not too oily and came out fresh and crispy. Crispy on the outside, but perfectly balanced soft interior. It was like eating fish and chips, but better! Eat fresh to maximize flavor and texture! - Dry Fried String Beans ~ Pairs perfectly with rice! A great addition to the table for veggies and flavor. - Pork and Chive Dumplings ~ Soft and juicy. Very flavorful. No sauce needed. For three dishes from the 11.99 menu and the inclusion of rice, we were well fed! Rice was complimentary, but was one of the softest and fluffiest rice I've had. All the dishes were solid, and best of all, the service was amazing. The server was full of energy, and it was amazing to watch her interact with other customers - definitely brightened up my day. The place wasn't packed, but it was great to see some occupied tables and patrons coming in and out for take-out. Would definitely return!

"Lion kitchen" sign has been up for ages, restaurant is finally open! We ordered: green beans, salt and pepper prawns, shrimp fried rice. All were delicious, but the prawns were incredible! Came on a weeknight and we were one of two seated tables - I don't think many people realize this place is open yet. As an update, they do take card now. They are offering 10% off many dishes as a grand opening special! Come in and support a local business!

Good food and service! Came here on a weekend afternoon while there were not too many people in the restaurant, but many people grabbing their orders to-go. There's seating available for a few dozen people, and the furniture/decorations are pretty typical of this type of restaurant. I ordered their Dried Scallop and Egg White Fried Rice to-go, and it was ready within 15 minutes. The portion itself was generous for the price, and there was as a good amount of dried scallop, egg whites, and onions sprinkled around the rice. The dish was perfectly seasoned, not dry, and part of a satisfying lunch. I would recommend this place for their rice, and I have to try their many other dishes next!

New restaurant around the corner so wanted to give it a try seeing all the 5 Star reviews. Nice cozy atmosphere, felt clean and bright. We were surprised to walk in and see the waitress was someone that use to own a restaurant down the block. Seeing all the pictures and 5 star ratings and wanting to try the Beef Tomato Gee Mein. We asked for Curry Beef Tomato Gee Mein and it was okay but actually a little on the salty side so not sure if it was the curry we added? We also ordered Beef Tendon Won Ton which was very large won tons with shrimp and there was noodles in the soup and the broth was very tasty and not too salty. We will try Lion Kitchen again and maybe order the $10.99 entree dishes to try. Glad this new restaurant is doing well in the neighborhood.

Newly opened Chinese restaurant on 29th and Judah. They've been renovating for the past few weeks. The menu is a variety of stir fried, dumplings, and noodles. Dumplings are really good. They are fairly large compared to other places. Portions for stir fries are also really good. Cash only for now.

Found this place on a whim and went because of the other reviewers. Was not disappointed! Got the lunch special for $11.99 of Sweet N Sour Grouper. The portion size was impressive for a lunch special and the sweet n sour sauce was really flavorful. Also comes with a small side of white rice. You can tell this place is authentic when you walk in, lots of locals. Very unassuming from the outside and parking was tricky (even during the week day), but overall will be back when in the area.

Ok so everyone listen up!! This place is a secret because it's too good to share!!! What a delicious discovery I made today when looking for a Chinese restaurant in Outer Sunset!! First off we went for lunch on a Saturday and there was only 2 customers in there! We ordered Seafood Hot & Sour soup, delicious! Full of shrimp, squid, Tofu and bamboo shoots! Wonderful flavors in this soup!! Then we ordered the Pork & Chive fried dumplings....yummy! We also ordered Beef Fried rice, it was so good, I hate when fried rice is greasy but this was NOT! Additionally we got the Sweet & Sour Pork, my favorite dish! It was crispy even with the sauce on it! And don't leave without ordering the Fried String Beans!!!! I could eat the whole plate! All in all this place is exceptional, better than most Chinese places in town!!!

The place was new. 10% off grand opening special for some regular dishes, except for the specials. We got mushroom wood ear dumpling, pan fried tomato beef noodle, and eggplants (comes with a bowl of rice). We didnt know eggplants were a little spicy. It was good. They were generous with portion size. You might need to ask for serving spoons. Parking was no problem since we got there when they open for dinner. Right at the corner, Grey outside but magenta pink inside. Service was good. Never seen the teapot like that. It didnt spill or drip like old traditional ones.

Great experience from start to finish. Friendly phone and in person service. Food was delicious, everyone loved it, prepared in a very reasonable time for the amount we ordered and all at a great price for the amount and quality of food. 100% recommend if you're in the mood for Chinese food. Loved the pink decor as well

I'm so happy I just found this new place close to our house. I've already tried a few of their classic Chinese dishes, and they're all excellent. This will be a regular spot for us going forward. And the owner Cat is a sweetheart.

I went there with my friend for an early quick dinner. To our surprise, all the dishes was delicious with good portion. It's very good price/quality/portion ratio. The place is new and clean. The lady server (Cat) was very friendly and attentive. Definitely will go back to try out more dishes !!

Food is exceptionally good. Service is great and the prices are quite reasonable for the portion sizes. Ordered the sweet & sour pork, shrimp fried rice, salt & pepper wings, beef Ho fun, string beans, eggplant, chicken , & shrimp Clay pot and pork & chive dumplings. Will be back.

This Chinese Restaurant just opened today! For now, it is cash only. I was very excited yesterday, to ask someone there about the opening and now I'm excited to have a new Chinese restaurant near where I live! Rice is included with the entrees and they have all the standard menu items near the Judah St and 29th Ave trolley stop! The sign has been up for a long time, but now the restaurant is open and they have renovated the interior.

Ordered tomato beef hong Kong style noodles. Very hard to find an excellent version as I remembered it as a young adult. 10-20 years ago. Their version was pretty close.

Went back to try the Beef Ho Fun again and it was excellent, with all the perfection of a high quality restaurant. Will be eating here on a regular basis now.

After seeing all the 5 star reviews, our expectations were very high. Being a new restaurant, we did expect the service to be slow, but were disappointed when our dry fried beef ho fun came looking extremely "shiny" and VERY greasy. Flavor was good but was so oily. Also ordered the pan fried dumplings which came deep fried (even though the picture showed actual pan fried). The filling was tasty and would have been much more enjoyable without the tough deep fried wrapper: Sadly, we couldn't even "melt" the bread with our tea since it came lukewarm. Couldn't get the waitress's attention to ask for hot tea. She checked in with us when we were done eating so we asked for hot tea. Dropped off a new pot and it was the same lukewarm (almost room temperature) tea so maybe that's how they serve it. Hopefully these are just growing pains and will see future improvement.

Clean atmosphere and very delicious food! I've never been to a food establishment where I could feel the excitement & appreciation for my business until today. You could see the excitement when customers would walk through the door. The serving sizes were great and plenty leftover! I ordered the wontons, fried rice noodles, kung pow chicken and tangerine peel beef. The beef was coated in the best crunchy coating! No pictures this time but I'll be back to update this review with images. I am grateful to the business owners choosing to bring their wonderful restaurant to the Sunset.

Fantastic addition to the neighborhood! They have a great lunch special -- generous portions and tasty food all at an affordable price. Great place for takeout and even dining in!

I don't typically write reviews but I feel the need to given this restaurant is so close by and I'd like them to stick around given how good their food is. Kung Pao Chicken - This is a pretty Americanized dish that I rarely order since a lot of restaurants don't do it very well i.e. small bits of chicken, bad ratio of complimentary veggies, not the right spice/flavor. Lion Kitchen nailed this dish and is my favorite dish here (especially for an easy solo lunch) Salt and pepper shrimp - Big ol' nicely fried shrimp with a good salt and pepper flavor. Good enough to just eat it with the shell Typhoon style fried fish - Also great flavor with the onions, peppers, and black beans. We got this to go so we lost some of the crispiness but the fish to batter ratio was perfect so I didn't mind the slight sogginess Walnut shrimp - Pretty run of the mill dish. Nice plump shrimp, not over-mayoed, and nicely roasted candies walnuts Scallop egg white fried rice - Another Chinese classic that they did well. Plenty of scallop and egg white to make this a great fried rice. My only wish was a hint more "wok hay" flavor would take this over the top All in all, this is an excellent addition to the neighborhood. With reasonable prices and great tasting food, I hope people give this place a try. P.S. I've ordered only to-go so I can't comment on service. I can only imagine how good this food would be fresh from the kitchen.

The food is decent especially good value off the $10.99 special menu. No real standout dishes just overall typical Chinese dishes The two servers were very helpful but still learning as many items need to be requested (tea, rice, napkins, water...) The one big thing is the timing of kitchen. Some of the dishes were served timely but a few others not until 30 - 45 mins later. We were there twice and hoping they will iron out issues as great to had a good to place with reasonable prices.

Dishes were good. We ordered the string beans, the tomato beef Hong Kong style chow mein, and spicy fish. Sorry, didn't get a snapshot of the tasty string beans. We ordered a small bowl of steamed rice not in photo.

Our party of 3 arrived on a Sunday afternoon after the normal lunch rush. Our friendly waitress was prompt in seating us in these relatively uncomfortable wooden chairs. The place is clean and was formerly a haven for making dim sum and supplying it to other restaurants. We ordered the Wor won ton soup, mushroom and tofu stir fry, green means and beef chow fun. Apparently they ran out of won tons and substituted dumplings instead. It gave it a different flavor. The soup was rather bland and the worse of the 4 dishes. We couldn't finish it all and took the rest home. What I don't like is the surcharge for using a credit card. It was no where on the menu and I find it a bit sneaky. Its within walking distance so we'll probably come back.

Food was very flavorful. Price very reasonable. Overall great value. Place was not too crowded when we were there but there were many to go orders. There were two ladies working with one specially taking all orders and handling transactions. Likely the lady boss. Not much of a decor. Just a regular restaurant. We will be returning very soon!

I went here with my family for dinner and the food was incredible! Portions were big and the food was piping hot! The lady who was our waitress, was so nice and friendly. I loved the vibes of the restaurant, it was pink, purple, and white. Such a cute Chinese restaurant. Me and my family will definitely be coming back! I loved the free tea and water. I'm very picky with those two things at restaurants and can say both are amazing! Our order: Salt and pepper pork - 5/5 delicious and very tender Salt and pepper fish filet - 5/5 super fresh, crunchy, and tasty Chicken and broccoli - 5/5 had tons of flavor and veggies were phenomenal

Great food! Every dish was outstanding: Soup was filled with great stuff and flavorful without saltiness. Strings beans was so well done, crispy and just perfect. Dumplings large and filling Fried fish and fried calamari outstanding and not oily. The clay pot beef was so good, Eggplant was also good and also non oily. Ample portions with lots leftover with 5 boxes.

Tender pieces of fried fish that were lightly seasoned in crispy batter. Salt and pepper chicken wings-8 fried chicken wings with salt/pepper seasoning. We really enjoyed our dinner tonight. There were only 2 tables with customers, as most people don't know this place exists. They now take credit card payments, thank goodness. We would have ordered more food if we knew sooner that they accepted credit card payments now. We know better for our next visit. Anxious to try more of their menu items. It's great that they currently have so many $10.99 meals, as a grand opening special, so try them now for a great price. It's always good to support new neighborhood businesses.

Great neighborhood spot! We've been walking by waiting for months for Lion Kitchen to open, and they did not disappoint. The food is delicious and the interior is bright and tidy. We've gone twice this week and intend on making Lion Kitchen our regular dinner spot.

I'm really not an easy foodie to satisfy. One of my tests that most restaurants fail is they overcook deep fried breaded fish. This restaurant served salt and pepper grouper that was absolutely perfect. A little spicy, a little salty, crispy and absolutely not the slightest bit over or under cooked. Perfect. The dry fried long beans is another dish that is often overcooked. They also can be under-flavored. These were perfectly cooked and wonderfully flavorful, with just the right amount of heat. The beef chow fun was the other dish I ordered and it was excellent. The staff are super friendly and this new business is beginning to attract a crowd. With good reason.

Wow what a find! If I lived in the neighborhood I would want to keep this a secret but I don't and I want them to succeed so here goes. The food was amazing! Shrimp with green beans was delicious and the wonton soup was amazing as well. I will be back and hope I won't have to wait too long to get a table!

A new Cantonese restaurant. Parking only around the typical Sunset neighborhood. It used to be a small dumpling factory store that closed down for a long and extended renovation. I've been walking past the restaurant since it opened a few months ago. Initially it was deserted with no customers, however, seeing that it was garnering customers, I gave it a try. Impressive! The price is good too. We tried 3 of the special dishes for $11.99 each and were surprisingly good. Dishes not salty and in good flavor, not greasy, and decent portions. Try them out before the crowds get larger and they start raising the menu prices.

Typhoon shrimps are excellent fresh and tasty. Curry chicken is so good reminds me of curry fishball in hong kong. Stir fry chicken with rice noodle is low salt, not oily, just the way my mom would cook it. Definitely will come back for more yummy meals :)

This is a great neighborhood restaurant as can be seen how the hostess greeted most of the customers. I am privileged to visit this place on a rainy Christmas Eve late evening. I have not seen a $11.99 specials for both lunch and dinner. Therefore, I do highly recommend this place to support this neighborhood restaurant to thrive, not only for the people who live around the neighborhood but also, for tourists who are visiting too like my family. Honestly, the foods are quite good! We ordered the salted shrimp from the $11.99 menu and the other 3 items from main menu that ranged from $14.99 to $15.99 Portion is big too for soup, salted chicken wings and beef noodles soup with dumplings. Our check for 4 items came up to $62.02 including taxes and we have to pack 1 piece of salted shrimp and 4 pieces of salted chicken wings to go. Also, the rice and tea are free. What more can one ask in this part of the town? Please be NICE to the bubbly hostess as she is juggling with so many things at the same time. Think of this place as owned by your F&F if you felt their service is not at par when busy. Allow this neighborhood new restaurant to grow so that it benefits all. Of course, if you are looking for fine dining experience, this is not the place. But, like my family, we are looking for affordable and decently delicious Cantonese cuisine with a casual dining experience, this is your place!
