Lions & Tigers & Squares Detroit Pizza

Great Detroit style pizza! Didn’t realize this isn’t their first location in the city but definitely a nice addition to the east village food scene. Their pizzas are, of course, Detroit style so they come in rectangles and in a pan. They have a large variety of different pies and they have them all on display when you walk up to the counter which is glorious. You can just point to what you want. We got the classic and the chopped cheese pie. they were huge slices so we got half of each and the guy was nice enough to cut those halves in half too! Trust me, half a pie will definitely fill you up. Both pies were delicious. The dough had a nice texture and the simple flavors of the classic shone through. (we added some Parmesan cheese, oregano, and red pepper flakes). The guy who took our order recommended his favorite which was the chopped cheese and oh my god. It tastes exactly like a cheeseburger and had so much meat in it! I’m weird so I like to eat pizza crust with ketchup so to have it already in the pizza was a plus! Give it a try if you love cheeseburgers and pizza!

Lions & Tigers & Squares does not offer New York style pizza, in fact, they offer a very different style of square pizza. If you're like me, part of my favorite part of eating a square is the edges with just the right amount of crust. Detroit Style LTS the squares are baked in special pans for that complete coverage for the perfect toasting. The pizza itself was cooked perfectly for just the right amount of bite. On my first visit, I grabbed a pepperoni square and it was delicious. The sauce could do with a lil more garlic and a kick of spice. I guess its always better to be able to add versus putting too much. The service was friendly, but they seem understaffed. When I visited it wasn't busy in the location but they seemed to be behind on orders and it took a while for them to attend to me. Overall, I'm looking forward to trying something new.

Always an excellent slice and experience when we come here. This is my girl’s favorite pizza joint in the city. Anytime we are in the east village we gotta stop by. We always opt in for the classic slice. We get it by the half since it can feed two people. We did see a spike in prices for the classic when we came in today. They had a deal that was $3 for the half and $5 for the whole. Nonetheless, a great pizza joint. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The interior was clean. They have a lot of options. If you’re looking for something different than a NY slice , come on by and try a slice.

I came here with one of my roommates on the way to get ice cream, and we were thoroughly impressed. I had passed this place a bunch of times because it’s on the way to my barber, and I always wanted to stop in, and I’m glad that I finally did. First off, the restaurant is really spacious, so it’s a cool place to hang out while enjoying some good pizza. As far as the pizza goes, I had no expectations. I got slices of the vodka and classic meatball, and I was blown away. My roommate and I both agree that it’s the best piece of pizza we’ve had in the city. It’s so different than anything else I’ve tried. I ended up going back again, and I got a classic slice. It was just as good the second time around. I will say that the first bite is good, but as you get towards the middle of the slice, it tastes so much better for whatever reason. Also, the value at this place is great. A slice is probably around $5, but it’s so much more pizza than a traditional slice is. I eat a lot more than a regular person, and I was more than satisfied after 2 slices. I’ve already been back, and I certainly plan on going back again sometime soon!

Finally made it here to try their much talked about Detroit pizza slices. Their pepperoni slice is COVERED in pepperoni. The staff here was quite welcome (if you stop in tell Rubin that I sent you!). I can't wait to come back and try their other slices. One of the best in East village.

Service: they’re so friendly. The guy in front is from Bangladesh. He loves his job. You can tell he’s a super happy person in general. It’s immediately the first thing you’re welcomed with. I noticed his demeanor before the pizza. There was a great organization amongst the team behind the cashier. Atmosphere: the music is easy listening. Pop hits from history. The chandeliers and high ceilings give this place a very spacious and grand comfort. The seating is limited. I think they’re working on something. This isn’t a sit down type of restaurant anyways. Food: I got the cheese pie. It’s 4 slices of a rectangular crispy crusted deep dish cheese pizza. The dough is a yeast based. The cheese melts right through the dough helping to crisp the crust. The sauce is nice, not too salty. I’m just happy garnish it with fresh herbs. It really changes the entire order. There was a good amount of cheese. I saw them add more sauce to some orders that were lacking sauce. It’s divine, you must try. The contrast between the sauce, gooey cheese and crunchy cheese crust is incredibly addicting. It’s definitely my new pizza place.

This is the second Loins & Tigers & Squares that opened last October. The pizza is just as awesome as the first one with the exception of this location has seating. (See pictures) Customer service is great and the place plays a nice selection of Motown R&B music.

I freaking love this place. Everything is just so good. The classic and the sausage with maple are my favorites so far. You haven't been to Lions Tigers and squares you need to get to one of the many locations and get on that classic right away.
