I hosted my birthday party here and we all had the BEST time at Lions Roar. Roberto and Zaida are such wonderful hosts! They made us feel so welcome and Roberto is the best hype man/host. The lounge space is very cozy, yet spacious and the lighting and sound system was excellent. It set the mood perfectly for karaoke! We booked the space for 3 hours and the time flew by because we were having so much fun. I would 100% recommend Lions Roar for anyone looking for a fun, great place to host a party/special celebration!

I just did my birthday party here! I love this place. This was my second time here. Roberto and Zaida are incredible and such amazing hosts. Highly recommend this for a birthday, reunion, or any other social gathering you have. Absolutely worth it if you love karaoke!

Lions Roar is a one-of-a-kind New York experience! My friends and I have never had more fun singing karaoke, we felt like royalty at home in the lion's den. I mean this when I say this is the best karaoke experience you can have in NYC. It’s the perfect experience, run by two wonderful, kindhearted souls who do everything in their power to make sure you have the best night possible. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. This is by far the most fun I’ve ever had doing karaoke. Roberto and his lovely wife will make sure you have the greatest karaoke experience possible. I cannot sing the praises of this place better. My friends and family celebrated my sister's birthday at Lions Roar. It was awesome. The host and hostess were lovely and helpful. Nice clean establishment. We are already planning our next event. At the end of the night my sister told me that it had been the best birthday ever.

We came from Indiana to Brooklyn for my children's father funeral and needed a venue to gather with family during the covid-19 pandemic. However, this was no problem for Lion's Roar Karaoke House! I could not have imagined a better place to be - house was clean (sanitized), hosts were impeccable, warm and friendly, professional to name a few of their qualities. My grown children were happy. As far as the price goes, you can't put a price on happiness but if you could, this place is worth every cent and more. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to experience an upscale, cozy fun time without the drama! The only "bad" thing to say is that there is only One Lion's Roar Karaoke House!

If you and your friends love karaoke, Lion's Roar is a fun twist on the usual spots. It's essentially a private, well-kept apartment where the couple who lives there hosts you for the evening. You have access to the very comfortable living room, full kitchen and fridge, a lovely bathroom, and a backyard for when you need a break from the noise (or to smoke, etc.). You can bring in your own booze and snacks, a crowd of your friends, and sing your little hearts out. Roberto and Zaida are your hosts, and Roberto will act as your karaoke DJ for the evening. You request songs via paper note, and he'll call you up. Their microphones are quality (and there's an electronic sanitizer for safety), the setup is fun and easy, and everyone had a good time when I came through. It's quite loud for a residential building, so the soundproofing on the apartment must be excellent. Make sure you bring a good crowd that actually wants to sing, and you'll have fun.

I can't stop recommending that everyone book Lion's Roar Karaoke! My boyfriend and friends surprised me for my birthday and it was truly the best night of my life. I don't think I've ever had more fun. Roberto and Zaida have created a beautiful and welcoming space for you to celebrate and sing the night away. It's definitely an unassuming venue, but that's not a bad thing! There's a kitchen and you can bring in whatever food and drink. There's a backyard in case you need some air or a smoke. The space isn't huge by any means, but it feels intimate and like anyone can jump in and sing with you at any time, which I personally love about karaoke. Any song you can think of, they've got it. And Roberto MC's the night, and if you're lucky, will perform at the end. This was last August, so covid was high on the mind, but the hosts really made sure we felt safe and were cleaning the mic easily as we went. Didn't feel like it was stopping us from having fun. I will definitely be back!!

Two of the top 10 best nights of my life include the two times I've been to Lion's Roar. This place is so amazing, the only criticism of it I could think of is that it's not located in Chicago so I could go regularly. Nevertheless, if you're in NY and considering a fun karaoke night, then look no further. Roberto and Zaida are amazing hosts and will encourage the most fun and inclusive of nights--I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Attended a friends event at this location. The dj & hostess are the owners of the apartment, which is Small as hell, you sing karaoke in their living room. The rules were stated before the event which felt like we were teens having a house party and our chaperones overlooked us. Mind you we are all 30+ years of age. Never been to a airbnb setup like this and I won't be back. There are many karaoke venues that provide a fun, safe space which doesn't include hovering owners. Rate this place 3/10. Bathroom was nice.. nothing special about the space.

We had a great night at Lion's Roar. We had about 15 people for karaoke to celebrate a joint birthday. Really convenient to bring your food and drinks, and they have a great setup. We keep trying to go back but they tend to book at least a week or two in advance so plan ahead. The team is really sweet and helpful.

I absolutely can't believe I had more fun the 2nd time around with Mrs. and Mr. Roberto. They are gracious host and unbelievably great singers. We decided to do another session for (2) of my girlfriends birthdays. I promise anyone that decides to book Lion's Roar Karaoke you will NOT be sorry. Key points - show up on time, be respectful to your host, have your songs ready before hand, book enough time so everyone can sing 2-3 songs each and sing the night away.

I recently was a guest of my friends 30th birthday and she chose this place to celebrate the big 3-0. Now the concept of this business is quite interesting..... karaoke in somebody's luxurious living room. I literally am giving them 3 stars for this concept and their new couches. A couple runs this spot out of their living room. They also are very there during the entire thing. Weirdly so but I get it.....it's their apartment. If I were running a business out of my living room I would be hyper vigilant too. When we got there we received a "quick" tutorial only to realize a more in depth rule session was going to take place. This part was a bit uncomfortable...felt like a pre-scolding which I totally get...I would also remind guests not to dance on my countertops or take a shower.....yea. Cue ackward music lol speaking of music the transitions between our karaoke selections took soooo long. I would be surprised if we sang more than 12 songs the entire time of our reservation. This isn't a negative review per say but it also isn't a positive one. Oh and be warned there are cats in the apartment which we weren't aware about. The birthday girl has allergies so we knew immediately. All in all my friend had fun and that is all that matters in the end.

Why are you wasting time reading this review? Just book this place immediately and thank me later. Roberto and Zaida are the most gracious, wonderful, and accommodating hosts. The place is beyond cool and every detail is excellent and well thought out. This is also the best entertainment value in NYC. The ability to BYO food and bev saved us more money than we would've spent booking something that wouldn't have been private or even close to as cool. We can't wait to go back!

I truly feel like reviews should be reserved for exceptional service, the fact that this was not the case is disheartening. FIRST SIGN I SHOULD I BOOKED ELSE WHERE: I called establishment on SATURDAY evening to inquired about the following Friday night event. Being that it was such a last-minute plan. They only had the last time slot available the following day. I spoke to the wife the next day on SUNDAY and we went over numbers and I reassured her that I would call the next day to complete booking. Called MONDAY and gave them my credit card information and was supposed to receive an email confirmation that day. I did not receive it to the following day and it slipped my mind to follow up. We were in agreement that on THURSDAY they would run the card for the deposit, after all they had my CC info and the date and info was set. To my surprise Friday morning at 7:30 in the morning I get a text saying that another party has a "soft hold" for the space. After much back and forth. I was pretty much left hanging in the wind until this other party "soft hold" expires. Here is the problem that I first had with this business, they love to use titles as small business and say they appreciate your business, you would think that after all the over communicating that I have done as the customer, they would have given me the courtesy of honoring my reservation since my CC was already on file. Just like you took the time to tell me @ 7:30 am that someone else booked the space, a text could have been sent to confirm whether or not I wanted the space. To be clear we are splitting hairs about responding to an email. SECOND SIGN I SHOULD I BOOKED ELSE WHERE: I arrive on time to start my booking and to my surprise, this isn't an Airbnb at all. This is a living room, a small kitchen, and a small standing area. They mislead & misrepresent their space by using words like AirBnb. Another unusual point which wasn't explained, is that they are actually apart of your event, hovering and giving unsavory looks, as if your are children & not adults. It truly made all my guests feel uncomfortable. I really did not understand that the owners would be present all night. It is not clear as to what you are renting until you get there, at no point did anyone say exactly how it would be! In attendance I had small business owners as well as several home owners in attendance and they all felt as if this was a bit too much! The night ended with me being held hostage for money for me being over charged & a almost physical altercation because the Roberto decided to raise his voice and get aggressive with women. Lastly, in addition to the shadowing over my guest I had a total of 17 people, they decided to round my total to 20 and didn't want to take payment from anyone else but me. So I was held hostage at the end of the night till I paid the overage which in hindsight I should have never paid to begin with. All these glowing reviews are hilarious to me, because none of them reflect what actually goes on in the apartment.

A hidden gem. Don't be alarmed when you pull up and it's not what your expecting. The place is in an apartment building & the owners turned one of the apartments into a Karaoke spot. So it's def a little weird when you arrive but once u get past that part, this place is simply AMAZING. The owners completely renovated the space and it's beautiful inside. This place would be a great place for small or intimate party or celebration. And they have a full renovated kitchen and you can bring your own liquor. They have every song basically and the colorful lights are a nice touch. It's definitely worth the price for the experience. Not to mention the owners are a sweet couple who are extremely welcoming and accommodating! If you want a one of a kind karaoke experience, this is definitely the place!

Had the time of my life! If I had to explain why this experience was so exhilarating I would probably say it is because of a combination of the ambiance, the hosts, and the people that you bring. At first, I thought the price was is too expensive but after Knowing what I know now about how much fun all 9 of us had, I would've easily pay more to Do it again because I know how much fun it is! I paid $365 for 2 hours and then another $75 for a 1/2 hour. So $440 for 2 1/2 hours $35 a ticket for 10 people. Then I asked for $20 form the group and ate the extra $50.

Omggggg! Talk about an amazing experience! The pictures don't do this place justice ! Firstly the couple that runs the place are the sweetest people everrrrr! They were extremely understanding and accommodating after a miscommunication! The place itself is just amazing! No ordinary karaoke place! They give you an introduction before every performance! Which I loved! The decor, the ambiance, everything 5 starsss! Definitely a place for a Large group of friends to come and have some fun! ALSO BYOB! And you can bring your own food! Loveee loved loved! Will be back here soon with a larger group of friends! Can't wait!

Such a good twist to your average karaoke night. It's like your own personal karaoke suite. No big place with multiple rooms. Just you, the host, and your friends. Idk, like an Airbnb for Karaoke. I like it mostly because you can practically have a nice intimate setting with your friends/guests. The hosts own the residential building and they DJ for the night. It's an apartment so you have access to a full kitchen, living room and bathroom. You are allowed to bring drinks and food. Perfect for birthday gatherings. I'd prefer it this way. The host are very welcoming and it feels more personal than your normal karaoke spot. Also, affordable.

I visited Lions Roar on 12/16 to bring in my birthday. I am not new to karaoke, my friends and I usually do it at least once a year. We have our normal spot in queens that we love but because we went to a restaurant in Brooklyn I thought it'd be more convenient to find a place near by. Ok so our reservation was 8:30-10:30 and we arrived on time. The hosts were more than gracious and very nice. The karaoke room is not a room at all but an apt turned into a karaoke spot which I think is cool. My only complaint is although we arrived on time for our 8:30 reservation we didn't get started until 8:58. This was mostly impart to having to do an orientation where things were explained to us. These things included the location of the bathroom, the courtyard, where the glasses were located (for guest use as it is BYOB and byofood) the rules of the house and how to request the songs you wanted played (write it on a piece a paper and hand it over) anyway all those things could have been said with a quick point of the finger. What took the longest to me and seemed unnecessary was the background history on how and why the karaoke lounge came to be. I would suggest maybe putting that info on the website or in the confirmation email? Overall it was a nice place and I'd recommend it.

This is an amazing idea, this couple open there home for private karaoke. They have a kitchen where you can bring your own food and drinks. Had a blast never did karaoke prior and would definitely do it again.

This is the kind of place I want every night in NYC to end at. It is one of the strangest and most memorable things I've done in years of living in Brooklyn and I recommend it to anyone who's down to have a bizarre, truly fun time with an intimate group of friends. Maybe not the best spot for "getting to know you" gatherings. The host sang twice, and at an insanely loud volume, and (in the best way) reminded me of Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy, giving it his all on "Somebody to Love". Go here, plan a party and go here. Like, yesterday.

Odd encounter. NO signage to indicate it's a business. Lady met us at the door, all disheveled and bothered looking. Said she had no reservations for that night but almost insisted we take a tour for "next time." We said no thanks and left. The experience bothered everyone in my party the rest of the night. The vibes were weird. Very odd.

Honestly - I don't write a lot of reviews but I wanted to tell people how much they should avoid this place. It's a private kareoke spot but the owners are incredibly controlling - the vibe is uncomfortable, the living room is awkward and the seats are bad for sitting. I really wish this was all 1) we brought a large group and wanted to start singing - instead we had to listen to a 20 minute scripted lecture on how to select and listen to a kareoke song ( something we had to pay for and weren't able to skip and start playing. Worse we kept on moving songs around in our order of what we wanted to play next - again this was a private event and manually input songs so we had to request to change songs. When we did this - the host got up and screamed at us - he had an actual tantrum saying 'nobody gets to tell me how to play my music in my own house' - we honestly got scared and uncomfortable. We left as fast as we could and did NOT feel safe in this strangers house who was possessive controlling and prone to spontaneous outbursts. I genuinely urge you to avoid. This isn't a company or a reliable establishment

I LOVED this place so much! I came here for my birthday and it was hands down the best birthday I've had thus far. The space is beautiful and spacious, you have any song you can want at the tip of your fingers paired with an amazing sound system and screen. Reading the reviews, I booked the lounge for 3hrs instead of the 2hrs I thought I would originally need. Little did I know, we actually needed 4! Luckily, we were able to add in the additional hour since there was no other group booked after us. Roberto and Zaida are such great and welcoming hosts and I love that they decided to create this spot - WELL WORTH IT. The best part is, I felt the price was not much different from paying for a cramped karaoke private room in the city AND it's BYOB and BYOF. It's been over 3weeks since that night and I'm still in awe about how much fun it was for my girls and I! The only thing I was sad about is, we were so busy having fun, I never managed to ask for a group picture. But, there's always next time!

The karaoke lounge is a great place to spend an evening with a group of friends. We arrived late and Roberto and Zaida were very accommodating. The space is great, clean, and was perfect for our group and our situation. We brought a lot of food and a lot of drink per BYO opportunities (We anticipated 2-2.5 hours at Fette Sau that turned into nearly 3!). It took our group a few minutes to get situated while trying to eat dinner during our 10 'o clock reservation, but the two hours flew by! We had a group of 10 guys for a bachelor party (Yes, we are tame, but so what, the groom asked for karaoke and we karaoke'd hard.) and I would say 2-3 hours is perfect for a group that size--each of us got up 2-3 times. Great night had by all. By the end of the night each song was a sing-a-long (which is good because the screen is visible from the couch, but not from the more open stage area). Songbook had about 90 percent of the songs we wanted, and in the case where the song was not available, they set it up on youtube for us to sing. Roberto and Zaida were both very professional and courteous.

My friend booked a birthday party at Lion's Roar Karaoke House. It's pretty cool for some clean fun. We supplied our own food and soda. It wasn't a drinking party so I don't know what the policy is on alcohol. The decor of this space is quite beautiful and comfortable. But my favorite aspect: the host of your night who announces each song and singer with his radio ready baritone voice. They have a great selection of tunes. You won't be disappointed throwing a private party here.

Basically the best way you could possibly karaoke. You have your own karaoke lounge and the hosts take care of setting up the songs and keeping the mood hype. This is perfect for a birthday party or any kind of party where you want a personalized space/experience in NYC. BYOB and BYOF was a plus as well. You won't be disappointed.

The best night of my life! I just had my birthday party with Lion's Roar over the weekend, and absolutely everything was perfect. Roberto and Zaida are such wonderful hosts and made our guests feel right at home, such a cool house party/karaoke lounge vibe unlike anything else I've ever experienced. The ability for BYOB/BYOfood was nice so that people could have whatever they wanted, and the orientation at the beginning was very relaxed and informative. Roberto is such a star emcee, bringing the most amazing energy every time he introduced a new guest to the stage -- so much so that a few of my friends who normally didn't do karaoke put in songs of their own to get in on the fun! I appreciated the extra measures in place to sanitize the mics between songs, and the overall vibe of the apartment was the coolest. I honestly don't want to do karaoke any other way after visiting Lion's Roar!

So...this place is fantastic!!! While browsing YELP, looking for a cool karaoke spot, I came upon a jewel right here in Brooklyn. Honestly I use YELP daily but seldom feel so compelled to write reviews (so, I'm a little lazy...don't judge me). The owners are awesome, personable and welcoming. You will feel at home once you walk in. The space is clean and gives off the feeling of being in your own private lounge. We had an awesome time singing or attempting to sing. There was a good selection and anything that they don't have in the book they will find for you. If you are looking to do karaoke with friends, this is the place. Did I mention, its BYOB and you can also bring your own food. We soo wished that we had booked more than 2 hours. We had a blast and will be back!!

This was by far the best karaoke experience I've had! Came here to celebrate my 28th birthday, I'm big in gathering friends enjoying some finger foods and having drinks, relaxing having a good time. This place definitely did it all for me with the best part of it all the karaoke of course! Music sounded great, request were easy, the fact Roberto called everyone up to sing made it quick and easy the flow was perfect. Host were awesome, will recommend this place to anyone it's a karaoke at home what a better way to be private and accommodated, be respectful and don't do anything you wouldn't do in your home ! Love here will come back.

This place is amazing! I'm from Chicago and I was in town to celebrate my birthday with my family. I have done karaoke before in a private setting at a couple of different places, but this was by far the best experience. Usually, the songs are really old but they were able to play any song from youtube which means that you can sing ANY current song (not just early 00's hits). Roberto queues the songs for you so you don't have to struggle with a confusing remote and even though the songs come from youtube everything looks really professional. He has an amazing sound system and a huge TV screen and the place is BYOB so you don't have to keep going to the bar to get drinks and spending extra money. I highly recommend coming here.

We had a great time tonight, our hosts were so accommodating and honestly the Phil Collin's solo was worth the price alone. Amazing time, we can't wait to come back!

A very cool way to enjoy karaoke with your friend group, large or small! BYOB is a huge plus. You pay by the hour for the entire first floor. Great sound system and fun hosts!

When we first entered Lion's Roar Karaoke, it felt like the beginning of a Forensic Files episode. I should mention, first and foremost, that this 'lounge' is actually Roberto's apartment. You can expect a dimly lit room equipped with a large screen, microphones, a DJ booth, karaoke cats slinking about, giant Batman and Robin figures, a fridge containing groceries and a jug of Pepto Bismol, and rotating disco lights. Seems safe, right? Roberto gave us an initial overrun of what to expect to our not so trusting, extremely intoxicated party. He did not seem to enjoy fielding questions about our safety and receiving hardcore side eye from a certain member of our group. The assistant, Maddy, who may or may not have been held hostage at the Lion's Roar, could not hide her discomfort, especially when a certain member of our group whipped out a Shaggy impersonation that was so spot-on and unexpected that Shaggy himself might say "It Wasn't Me" and you would be quite uncertain about whether or not he was telling the truth. Roberto was v upset when Shaggy then proceeded to drop the mic. Our bad, Roberto. Overall, Lion's Roar was a fun experience with a lot of laughs, a little discomfort, and a gallon of Pepto Bismol.

My friends and I went to Lion's Roar in June to celebrate finishing up with schoolwork. It was a great experience from start to finish. We booked with Roberto who made sure to gather all of the details about our party and group. The lounge is located on the first floor of an apartment building Roberto and Zaida own, and was very tastefully decorated but very homey at the same time. Roberta and Zaida were great hosts, and their selection of songs was excellent and extensive. They didn't even bat an eye when we started requesting obscure Disney hits, just found them on YouTube and made them available even off of their song selection. I think this is a brilliant business model and was a very carefully crafted, fun time for all of us. I can't wait to come back!!!

This place is awesome. Booked them for my daughters surprise party. The owners (Zaida & Roberto) really went out of their way to accommodate all of our needs. It's such a cozy , quaint atmosphere. It's so much better than going to Manhattan and dealing with parking. I would 1000% recommend this place.

The Lion's Roar Karaoke Lounge is such a cool, chilled, spacious, all together just a beautiful spot. The moment you walk in it immately takes your breath away. Walking up to the door you have no idea what your about to experience because it don't look like much but don't judge a book by it's color. The hosts are absolutely lovey, both such sweet, loving and understanding individuals. I would def recommend this place without a doubt, GO you'll have a great time!

I can't tell you how much fun my family and I had singing at Lion's Roar Karaoke! It was my first time singing Karaoke, but Roberto and Zaida made the experience VERY comfortable. A beautiful, modern space with a kitchen available for us to prep our food and drink. Three hours for 7 people was just right. I am thinking about which group to take with me next time.
