One of those hidden gems that feels more like an industrial lab for cocktails than your average bar. Liquid Factory keeps it raw — exposed concrete, minimal seating, and a no-frills setup that lets the drinks do all the talking. The cocktails? Bold, experimental, and weird in all the best ways. The “Old Fashioned Chocolate Bar” with Snickers + Cherry is a must-try if you’re into dessert-like twists with a whiskey backbone. The grilled pineapple + sesame oil cocktail? Sounds insane — actually works. Service is chill, unpretentious, and the bartenders clearly love what they do. Expect small space, close quarters, and creative drinks that lean into playful, unexpected flavors. If you’re hunting for an underground spot where Tokyo’s cocktail scene doesn’t take itself too seriously, this is it.

Best cocktail bar in Japan! I've tried all the bars on the World's Best list, and this one should be at the top - amazing creativity in the drinks, foraging what is in season, distilling ingredients in-house, treating products and flavors with amazing care to create well balanced and delicious drinks that cover a spectrum of flavors. Beyond that, not the least bit pretentious and no cover charge, really friendly service in a cool, industrial designed space, with 90s hip hop playing in the background. I was blown away by a drink that came from foraging mushrooms at Mt. Fuji, complete with a cedar wood spray from cedar that came from the owner's background. Such a creative, light, and refreshing drink, perfect for autumn. Also, had a best ever variation of an espresso martini, with jasmine infused whiskey, notes of vanilla, black pepper, and banana. And the best part of the experience is that the menu is always changing with the season.

Was recommended to come here from another cocktail bar and this is probably my favourite bar in Tokyo so far. I had three very creative and unique cocktails, a milkshake with dark rum in it, miso peanuts and a choc cranberry cookie ice cream sandwich.

This bar is a hidden gem. A block away from the famous Bellwood, this bar puts even more thought and passion into their drinks. Something as simple as turning their fruit peels into a liquid spray for longevity, to hand crafted cocktails… by hand…. The cocktails are amazing. Not a mezcal fan? You will be after this. Old fashioned cocktail was great. Don’t let the photos fool you, these drinks are balanced and the bartender is mixologists and can craft your taste profile into what you want. Bring a coat as there is no main door and can get chilly. Just go!

Found this bar based off a recommendation from another bartender in Osaka and it was the best decision ever. My wife and I had the best time with our bartender, Daiju, who made our experience unforgettable. The cocktails were spectacular and I still think about the Plum Planet. We loved this place so much we came back twice! Definitely would recommend anyone coming to this bar for a great evening of cocktails and memories.

Incredible atmosphere! Unique experience with cocktails I promise you have never tried anywhere else. Everything Is homemade and locally made. Some items are limited edition where the ingredients are sourced from areas the owner has gone to such as one drink that had beans from Brazil where he gathered them from the country ! Loved my time here this is a must try place in Tokyo. Thank You keita for your amazing hospitality

He's an artist! Not only are the drinks amazing, but the vibes are impeccable and he uses lab equipment in the kitchen to make complex and delicate flavors. For the drinks we ordered he had prepared ingredients using a centrifuge and a distiller. The menu has tasting notes for every cocktail. Every drink me and my partner got were excellent -- absolutely no misses. Some stand-outs for me were the Old Fashioned Chocolate Bar, which is like a Manhattan and a Snickers bar had a baby, and the Hoppin' and Groovin which combined the bitter notes of IPA with smooth sweetness of banana (both made with the centrifuge and the still). Get the milkshake cocktail as your final drink to-go! I will try to go back every time I'm in Tokyo. Just delightful!

Liquid Factory just opened a few months ago on a quiet side street of Shibuya. The place is casual and the interior is designed to look like a small warehouse or a factory. Don't be fooled by its casual decor though because you'll soon realize that a lot of attention to detail has gone into creating this place. The bar menu mostly consists of craft cocktails although there are some mocktails and other drinks like beer. They have several signature cocktails that they always have on their menu as well as seasonal cocktails that change every few months. The owner and bartender Keita-san is warm and friendly and really takes the time to explain the menu. He understands that the descriptions on the menu alone may not help customers fully understand what the drinks are like and will kindly refer you to their Instagram account, which has photos of both the signature and seasonal cocktails. We went during the last week of their winter 2020 cocktail menu and ended up ordering a total of four seasonal drinks between the two of us. Each cocktail was creative, fun and delicious. This bar is a great addition to a part of the city that was lacking in good cocktail bars and is a nice refuge from the craziness of the rest of Shibuya. The drinks combined with the quality of service that we received makes this one of our favorite bars in a city that is already filled with some of the best bars in the world.
