Came here for our Valentine’s evening out. Was welcomed with the loudest music. Was ready to leave then but thought maybe if we sit at the back, it won’t be so bad. Nope, just as loud. I hate to be that person who complains about the music but omg, how do people converse?
We ordered drinks, a beautiful Sauvignon Blanc and the on special Strawberry daiquiri, which I swear, was delivered in a shot glass for 14.00. Then we ordered the warm olives, as described on the menu. They came cold, sent them back. They came back lovely and warm.
Then we ordered the mussels which were described by the waitress as hearty. There were 11 mussels. There’s nothing hearty about 11 mussels. That said, the broth was fantastic. But we weren’t given a vessel for the shells or a spoon for the broth. Had to ask for both.
Ordered the salt cod fritters which unfortunately were way too salty. The salt cod was about 2 rinses short. They were way too salty, and I love salty. We couldn’t finish them.
Lastly was the smoked salmon carpaccio which came on a tiny little dish, with 2 small pieces of pickled onion, capers, and and a couple of pieces of arugula. There was no bread, crostini, crackers, nothing to eat with the smoked salmon. Asked for bread which cost us yet another 4 bucks. This should have come WITH the salmon.
We definitely will not be back despite that awesome broth on the mussels.
