Security is horrible. Said they were at max capacity upstairs yet more than 20 ppl came downstairs every 20 mins and still wouldn’t let us in then they said there’s room for 1 so I went and told them then this lady got upset bc she was with a group yet this random dude told them they can come inside with ten other ppl while I waited outside for a show I paid for

I literally got pepper sprayed for no reason at all I weight 106 pounds 5'2...3 females literally physically put their hands on me !!! The security guard only came towards me pushed me to the ground repeatedly I have it on video...to the point I lost my wallet and car keys had to pay 400 out of pocket...I didn't drink at all I don't even drink.. I went alone to just have a good time. But instead got bullied by a group of females....this club was absolutely horrible

Place was filthy all the seats had holes or stains on them. Got told girls first drink was free it was not they just made me and my buddy's drinks cost more to make up for it. Music so loud you can't even have a conversation. Plenty of better bars on the same street to go have fun.

We went to Lit Lounge on a Friday night. There was no crowd which was fine because that means we easily got seats. My issue is we ordered the long Island Iced tea and it didn't taste like any alcohol was in it. Those are supposed to be a pretty strong drink. So we decided to just do a shot of vodka. It taste like we asked for vodka mixed with water. The liquor definitely has water in it.

They also have booths if the pool is filled up. Although it isnt as good as a chair by the pool they are still pretty cool. We came to the bar at night as well which had a fun vibe to it. You can sit in the back area facing the ocean and enjoy the view and cocktail. I highly recommend.

I am vacationing to Austin, TX and must say I thoroughly LOVED Lit Lounge on yesterday. The Bartender, Andres, was AMAZING!! After 2 drinks I was feeling great and the beverages he made (I tried 2 different) types, were THE BEST I’ve ever had! His energy and friendliness was very refreshing. There are some bars you go to and feel as though you wait forever and/or are looked over. He made sure to greet customers, thank them for coming and was very attentive. I also MUST mention DJ Ace of Spades. All I can say is WOOWWWW!!! His music, mixing, energy, EVERYTHING had all the people regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, etc LIVE and enjoying themselves. The vibe was off the charts and I LOVED seeing him as hype as customers were to EVERY song that came on! How can you not want to dance?! Loved every second. Third shout of to the gentleman at the door. Has to be one of the most difficult jobs to get people in the door when there’s so many bars and establishments to choose from right there on 6th. You had a steady flow! That’s talent! Thanks for being that first great smile and interaction for our wonderful experience at Lit Lounge. I just may come back by tonight for more great drinks, friendly service, music and vibes tonight before it’s time to head back home. I recommend times 1000! Go, tip good, spread great vibes, enjoy yourself and repeat those steps!

Thank you so much for a great night and excellent service!!!! Definitely worth stopping by! The DJ was amazing, there was two dance floors. It's not like the other bars on 6th street that are small and compact and can barley walk let alone dance.

Great music great drinks, this entire street is full of bars so if this isn't your vibe then it's probably next door. Service is good as well. I definitely will come back when I'm in Austin

Savannah is a mixologist, genius, and a bad ass. She is master if her craft, a genuinely kind person, and a terrific bartender! I walk blocks for her original, one-of-a-kind cocktails you cannot find anywhere else. Go check her skills at Lit before its too late with her own TV show!

The drinks were terrible. I've never felt the need to complain to a bartender. It was soda water with blue dye.

Me and my friends were walking down 6th for my friends birthday and a guy that works here brought us in and gave us a free bottle of champagne. He even found us a place to sit. What a great experience. Definitely recommend this place for ladies night!

We came here twice with some friends while on a mini get away (we are from New Jersey). the first time we went to this place was around 4 pm, the place was kind of empty ( I guess it was too early to start drinking), but the owner was so nice to us at the door that we decided to give it a try. The bartender was very friendly, and knew how to sell. ( he made this drink sound so appetizing that we ended up ordering 2 rounds, it was pretty good!!) we came back to the place later that night. The owner recognized us, and asked us to come in. He told the security guy at the door that we were good to let us in and he did, he let everyone in BUT ME!!! I asked him what was the problem that the boss said we were good and he asked me for ID. Then one of my friends stepped out to see if everything was ok, I told her that the security guy didn't let me in after the boss said we were ok, and the security guy said " If you don't like it go somewhere else" I was the only BLACK in the group, so you do the math!!!!!!!! then owner finally came out and apologized and told us that the security spent many years in the military and that's why he is like that. to be honest I don't know what does being in military has to do with being RACIST!!!

I came here for a bachelorette party. I read previous reviews and was under the assumption it was hip hop music. It was not the night that we went. It felt like the DJ was trying to play his own style (which I understand) but didn't seem to cater to the crowd. We had already reserved bottles tho so we stayed till we finished. Overall I would recommend just walking down the street and hearing which music you like and thus the venue you wanna enter, rather than booking in advance if you haven't been here before.

Never in my life did I think I would go to a bar called the "Lit Lounge". It was kind of lit...more like a small ember kind of lit. Venue is two stories, each floor long and narrow. Both floors were playing Hip-Hop music, so I was definitely about that life. There isn't really a designated dance floor...you just kind of find the open space and dance. 2nd floor had a beer bong table set up.

We came here while on a bachelorette. Ambiance: Spacious and good vibes Service: Everyone was super nice. We had reserved a table and got free champagne bottles. The music was quite good but unfortunately the day we went the place was pretty empty, maybe because it was Sunday. If I were to return to Austin again, I would definitely pass by again.

We went back in June for my friend's birthday! We contacted a host via the website and was quoted prices for bottles. It was VERY decently priced, especially since we're from chicago. We showed up a little later than what we said, but he still gave us the price we were quoted and gave us a bottle of champagne. It's a small bar/club but we had so much fun. The music is hip hop and throwbacks. It's right on 6th street, so was walkable from our hotel. I don't think there's a dress code, since it's 6th street but we went in with sandals and gym shoes but with dresses on since it was a celebration!

Came here on a Saturday night. Younger crowd, great music, friendly bar staff and right in the middle of it all. We'll visit again for sure when we're in town.

I came in here during the ROT ralley and they had an awesome sounding LIVE MUSIC rock band playing. We ordered a beer and a diet coke for me as a triple D... (on a Diet and a Designated Driver) and we had a great time. as I listend more the band was singing in Spanish.. what? then I heard that magic word... Mana.. what? they know Mana? I walked over and wrote the band's name on my Note 4 notepad and put some money in the tip jar and sure enough they rocked it out. I found out the band's name was the Palacios Brothers. I hope they come back!

Me and my friend had already been on 6th Street then decided to go into this Lounge.This place is decent sized and has a dance floor. if you dont want to dance they have lots of seats. We had a really good time! the bartender made everything as requested and DJ Cue is the best! i forgot the bartender's name but on my friends phone so i will come back and add it.

Great bar! Great owners, and awesome staff. You'll never have a bad time in Lit lounge. Located right on historic 6th street, a block past brazos. They are always having specials, just take a walk up and have your self a great time.

Oh man, 6th street. I just, don't even know what to say haha. If I were still in college (or let's be real, later years of high school), I would've had the best time on 6th street. But nearing the end of my 20's, I'm just feeling a little too old for this scene. My local friend put it best: you need to be properly toasted to experience 6th street - it's not meant to be seen sober. Lit Lounge pulled us in with promises of free drinks. That they delivered! Strong, delicious free drinks. The music itself was kind of that weird underground hip hop you can't really dance to. Crowd was... interesting. After the third girl I saw with her hands on the floor and butt up in the air, I was ready to move on. So we took our drinks and bounced. If underground hip hop is your thing though, you might like it!

There's nothing wrong with the venue or the service or the drinks, it was the false advertisement that irked me about this place. So here's the story.... I'm strolling down 6th street trying to decide which bar I should check out next when I suddenly hear "$3 wells!" and immediately I stopped walking, looked back, walked back, confirmed the deal with the bouncer, then decided 'oh what the hell, it's cheap so why not'. My bf orders us a "gin and tonic" and "cran-vodka"and guess how much the total was? That's right, NOT $6..it was $11 - almost twice of what it should be. I approached the bartender and he said the deal ended at 11, then I spoke to the bouncer who said that was wrong and that I should talk to the manager. So I confronted the manager who told me to speak to the owner at the bar and he'll get me a drink on the house. I walked up to the owner who was really nice, but told me that there was a $3.50 tax per drink (UHH WHAT). Did I hear wrong? Is this true?! Cause if so, I'm moving to Canada. Anyways, if that was the case the math wouldn't add up..$3+3.50 = $7 x 2 = $14. Yeah $11 is not a lot for 2 drinks, but false advertising is NOT okay and telling me all these lies isn't either.

We came on a Friday night. The DJ was incredible and the drinks were just ok. The price point was solid and the crowd was mixed. It was definitely "LIT" as the young kids would say.

Decent place, loud bass driven music, overpriced drinks, although with heavy pours. It is very cramped and tiny much like everything else on 6th, this place also has a small up stairs bar that is less packed Smells musty but all in all not a bad spot to go and enjoy some drinks.

This is probably one of my favorite bars on 6th street! It's new, looks awesome, and the drink specials are pretty cool too. I really like coming here. Come check out the friendly bartenders, the super nice owner, and the great music that the DJ plays!

Always my favorite place to start the night. The music is always good and the vibe is always right. I like the nights when the Long Island ice teas are 3 dollars. I haven't really purchased drinks here so I can not comment on that. But you must stop here you won't regret it.

I can say this bar was not too smoky. I stopped in to go potty and walked by the band at the front door, a girl dancing like she had way too much and thought the band was the best thing since sliced bread. The place was loud and dark and the bathroom was covered in graffiti. The first stall was questionable and the second one had god knows what on the stall walls. The soap dispensers were broken and the paper towels needed refilling in one of the stations. To be fair to the establishment, i am not a bar person.

While there on vacation, stopped in for a quick drink during the Pecan Festival. Left my card. I wasn't able to go back and get it, so the owner mailed it to me! So appreciated. And bonus-- they let dogs into the bar! :)

Personally want to thank David and his staff for an awesome night. Super fun and energetic atmosphere. Great variety of music and the VIP bottle service was amazing with fresh mixers all night. Definitely will go back!

The DJ was good... when he was playing. Ridiculously expensive place where they charge you $2 for water, and absolutely not near the it tries to imitate. There are hundreds of other bars on 6th street, go there.

This establishment is inconsistent. There's a bearded white man (Andres) on the second floor bartending who charged me extra for a drink I had already ordered. The first time we ordered drinks the good bartender (with dreads) charged us 4 drinks for $16. This bearded guy charged me $6 for one and told me I was wrong. I wanted to give this place a shot but this was very disappointing. 2 stars and not 1 because the first bartender was fair and the music was okay.

This is my favorite bar on 6th. I've gone to Lit several times for bachelorette parties and have had free champagne service each time. Several bars offer this on 6th, but Lit gave good champagne, glass flutes, and the bouncer poured our first glasses. It made us feel special in comparison to the bar before that offered some nasty champ in plastic glasses. They also played the best music we found and had a decent (and clean) dance floor! Definitely will be back.

I came here with some friends for good hip hop music and drinks. The space was a little tight but still fun we definitely took advantage of the AC that was pumpin. We went upstairs because we thought there was a patio to smoke but there wasn't and they were paying Latin music so we left. Although nothing wrong with that type of music we were just looking to really party for a friend's birthday.

Always treated like a princess here. Tony is the best. Favorite bar on sixth street by far. :-)

I am always treated so well here! I do not drink much, but staff here do not act as if that is an issue. I can honestly say the workers make the place on this one and they are all really wonderful people. I recommend this as a good club hangout and will head there when I can

My friend got too drunk when I went to the bathroom, totally her fault, I know. When I got out she wasn't even able to walk. Unfortunately my phone was dead and I asked the bartender if I could use a charger so I could call a Lyft and get home. He told me if she didn't want to be arrested, then we should get out right away. He dragged her out onto the curb and left us out there. I won't be going back, ever.

Came into Austin to visit for the weekend. I was very impressed by the ambiance and service of this bar. The bartenders are extremely attentive and pour excellent drinks, especially Rachael. Delilah is also an excellent server and dancer. Both ladies are an asset to the business. The lounge will continue to do well while they are both employed there.

This place is awesome! It's new and really nice inside. Everyone who works there is really friendly. They have the best drink specials and last time I went for my friend's bday they even gave us a free bottle of champagne!! They have ViP booths that are perfect for throwing parties. I can't wait to be back!! The DJs they have there are always really good too.

waited 15 minutes at a half empty bar for a drink. the the bartender closed my tab without even asking if I wanted to keep it open and i was charged a $2 surcharge for not spending the $10 minimum. ok music, trash bar.
