The Best Places to Eat and Drink in Walnut Creek | Eater SF

"Lita is one of the newer restaurant options in Walnut Creek, debuting in early 2022, and brings with it a fun, scene-y vibe that fits its Latin Caribbean cuisine and drinks. The lobster corn dog or the empanadas are a fun way to kick things off, food-wise, and the ancho chile coffee short ribs is worth considering if you’re staying for a meal. Grab a cocktail during happy hour (or, anytime really), such as the mangonada margarita, which comes with a chamoy and Tajin rim." - Dianne de Guzman

My fiancé and I popped in here on a Friday night after seeing a movie and it was BUSY so we knew we were in for a treat. We were fortunate to slide in to a couple bar seats almost right away. Service is outstanding, food is excellent, and cocktails came quick for how involved they are. It was a vibe. At 10pm (closing) the place was jumpin. The atmosphere was just FUN. We’re stoked to come back for dinner and try more of the menu. I had the Isle de Tigre, which was great. My girl had a Jamaican Forktail mocktail. Her’s was on the sweet side, but hey, better sweet than diluted. 10/10 and we only hit the tip of the iceberg here.

Wish we could give Half Stars because it would be a 4.5 Overall Experience. The lethargic Service almost dropped it a full star but the food can't totally suffer due to 1 Waitperson's lackadaisical ways. GET the Black Pepper Shrimp! A MUST!! Plump, juicy, fully flavored Asian-esque. Plantains thankfully were sweet, ripe and caramelized properly. Had a hybrid salad of the greens with the white Strawberries, Balsamic but added Grilled Shrimp, which came with the Chimichurri. The Chimichurri...and Shrimp was PHENOMENAL! It burst with FLAVOR so much so, when the shrimp were gone, we ate the sauce solo. Passionfruit Dressing full of tropical deliciousness on the side. Ceviche Verde was okay. Needs more flavor, heat and acid. It came with the Spiced Chips, which were messy and lacked flavor. A little salt goes a long way! GET the Mango Margarita, the only one that comes with the Popsicle. It can almost be its own meal, as it's literally pureed Mango flesh, which gives the 'Cicle great meatless and heft. The Passionfruit Mojito was equally as delish but sans a popsicle. The Guava Margarita was on the weaker side. As an honorary Island Gyal, who consumes tropical fruits on a regular, the Guava could use fresh infusion. They made butter noodles with a side of their cheese emulsion, which they normally use for their Mac & Cheese. One of our younger patrons wouldn't eat their regular M&C, so they saved a table of would-be tears by bringing a side of the emulsion to add to the noodles. The Yute was happy! Lastly, we had the Baja Taco, which was ONLY 1 with 1 Beer Battered piece of Cod. Should've AT LEAST been 2 for $11. Typical Slawed and good nonetheless. Overall, would definitely return. It's a vibe. Had great music. All crowds were welcomed and everyone was chic but laid-back. Sexy and safe place for a 1st date without breaking the bank but showing a great time with class, too. Street and Parking Lot up the block.

We had an incredible dining experience at Lita on a Tuesday night around 7pm. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, with a diverse mix of guests—from birthday celebrations and family dinners to friends catching up and what looked like a few first dates. It felt like the perfect spot for any occasion. The food was absolutely fabulous, and the service was top notch. Our server, Javier, made the night even better with his warm personality, great smile, and deep knowledge of the menu—from cocktails to dessert. He was attentive without being overbearing, and you could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. Every dish we tried was exquisite, but the Yum Numb Salt & Pepper shrimp appetizer was a standout. Perfectly seasoned and cooked—definitely a must-try. The Jerk Salmon was just spicy enough for those that like heat but still want to taste the flavors. The Black Pepper Shrimp is a sure winner if you’re undecided. For dessert, the pineapple upside down cake with rum currant sauce was unforgettable. I’d come back just for that alone. As for drinks, everything we tasted was delicious, but my favorite was the Isle de Tigre—refreshing, balanced, and beautifully crafted. I highly recommend Lita for anyone looking for excellent food, stellar service, and a vibrant yet comfortable vibe. Can’t wait to go back!

AMAZING Does not even begin to express the flavor. As an east coast native who grew up around Caribbean foods I can say it's what it's supposed to be with an extra twist. A step up from traditional dishes. Including Trinidad dishes is rare. You will find it here in addition to Jamaican, Puerto Rican foods and drinks. The ambiance is clean, and comfortable with indoor and out door seating. Heat towers to keep you warm if you wish to be outside. Javier will also make your experience one to remember. Lastly please whatever you do leave room to order the key lime dessert. I CAN NOT BEGIN TO EXPLAIN HOW DELICIOUS IT IS. try it I dare you. We traveled 30 minutes to try this place and it served. Thank you for showing these west coaster how it's done. Photos to come....Curry coconut chicken empanadas, jerk chicken sandwich, tostones(unreal and unlike any other we have had..the taste), mango ice tea, Jamaican Forktail (loved this), and finally the key lime. Nom.nom. definitely will be back.

The manager, Brian, and GM, Andres, were so incredibly accommodating my table especially with my allergies. I have tons of allergies and some places have to make a lot of adjustments, but they actually were able to accommodate all of my restrictions without even changing some of the main dishes. I had the soup and it was amazing. Highly recommend it. It was so authentic and delicious. I can't wait to come back!

I must admit, this place surprised me. Thought it would be more hype the quality, probably will have good cocktails & festive atmosphere. Lita delivered. Cocktails and atmosphere were great, though a bit loud (or am I just getting old?) The food was outstanding! Had the risotto with steak and the short rib. Portions were very generous and flavor and quality was top notch. Definitely will be back!

The atmosphere was great music playing but it was not so loud you couldn't hear the other person. The food was delicious oxtails were a little overcooked but still tasty. The food was very fresh. I had a mango margarita, which was wonderful! The service was wonderful as well. I would definitely come here again.

Google
The Brussels sprouts were crispy, and the meat on the oxtails was falling off the bone. I have eaten rice and peas many times, restaurant as well as home made, so the flavor at Ltas was not familar to me. The crab dish was totally not what I expected. It was slightly spicy with a nice flavor, but estecticly was not inviting; not my favorite dish. I will try something else next time.

Yelp

Yelp
Dining at Lita is like stepping into a refined seaside escape--elegant yet warm, modern yet rooted in the soulful flavors of coastal Spain and Portugal. From the moment you walk in, the ambiance sets the tone: clean lines, breezy textures, and a vibe that's both upscale and inviting. The cocktails are a standout. The house-made sangria is bright and balanced, and their signature drinks--like the smoky mezcal-based creations or floral gin concoctions--are both inventive and beautifully presented. Service is polished and friendly--staff are knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, and genuinely seem to care about your dining experience.

Yelp
Very nice casual to classy energy. Staff friendly. Reservations preferred. Attentive staff. I ordered a bowl with blacked shrimp that was plentiful and well seasoned. I also had an app of mushroom quesadilla which was delicious. The star of the meal was Spicy Red cabbage. The spice the crunch the flavor!!! All on point. Must return. For meat eaters...I hear the ox tails are delicious off the dinner menu. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
This was stop #2 for date night and it is a lovely spot for an intimate drink or bite with your person. We got the burrata appetizer which was super tasty but tiny for the price- really tiny. The yuca chips were crispy and salty and I could've eaten a bowl of them. To drink I did the Jardin de Balata which was a solid 7.5/10, however my husbands Rum kissed peach was an 8.5/10! The only thing they could've done to elevate that drink more is do a more luxe peach garnish instead of a canned peach slice. Brûlée it or something! We got the donuts to go for dessert and the coquito you squeeze into them is just divine.

Yelp
If you go to Lita you should try the mango margarita (it comes with a popsicle!) and the Blackened shrimp. Both were delicious. My table also shares the Guava Ceviche and I would definitely order it again. It's great for a fun night out , and they have great cocktails. The service was attentive and fast.

Yelp
Went to Lita for a work event and their space is a good size to accommodate larger groups. We had a group of 8 and had a nice long table outside mostly covered by shade. The food was a bit of a blur, but here is my ranking in descending order: Pineapple Upside Down Cake - the star of the show. Cake is tender, flavorful and shaped like a pineapple! It would be good by itself, but the coconut gelato takes it over the top. Pork Belly Bao - I'm a sucker anything like a wrap. I liked this version of jerk better than the chicken bowl. Chocolate Passion Cake - smooth and creamy with a little tanginess from the passion fruit. There were little bits of spice (allspice?) on top that were overpowering. Tried one and moved the rest to the side. Chicken and Beef Empanadas Brussels Sprouts Macaroni Pie - an interesting macaroni casserole Yum Numb Shrimp - liked the flavor, but the shrimp are buried in greens Jerk Chicken Bowl - jerk seasoning was ok, a little flat. I think the main thing I was missing was texture - like crispy skin on chicken. This was kind of like a stewed chicken with minimal sauce. Tostones - I thought this was a bit of an odd combo. Sauced potatoes with tobiko. LITA Trio - a bit different than I was expecting. A lot of sweetness from the guava and tamarind ones. Charred Pineapple - we asked for the option for flaming pineapple but it wasn't a great idea to try lighting this thing on fire on a windy day. Ultimately, fire or no fire, this didn't deliver on pineapple or the char. It's more burnt flavor than caramelized/grilled flavor. Overall, they definitely have some winners here. For the price, I was hoping for some more consistency across the menu though.

Yelp
Had a nice experience here with a group of friends. The ambiance is chic and inviting. The drinks were so good! The food was great as well, just a little pricey. I especially loved the curry shrimp pasta! The plating for each dish was lovely. Our server was also so nice. I would come again

Yelp
Tucked into downtown Walnut Creek, this Caribbean gem serves bold flavor with a side of eclectic charm. The interior is vibrant and artsy--think tropical meets funky gallery--and the service? So warm and welcoming, it felt like we were regulars. We started with the ceviche trio, and I still can't stop thinking about the guava ceviche--sweet, tangy, refreshing perfection. The jerk salmon risotto was another standout. Creamy, just the right amount of heat, and the salmon was beautifully cooked with that signature jerk spice kick. Street parking was manageable, and there are a few parking garages within walking distance if you're planning to hang out downtown after. I will definitely be back to try some more dishes!!

Yelp
Came here for Valentine's Day and had an amazing dinner experience. The food was delicious and the manager and team have high hospitality standards. They made our night and experience really special. And no special treatment--- they were touching all tables and were chatting it up and checking in with all guests that night. It was nice to experience such a high level of service. The food was amazing! EVERYTHING was delicious. The coconut curry chicken empanadas are a must. So are the salt cod fritters. I can't wait to go back, to try more.

Yelp
Lita is a high-energy, hip restaurant with unique, delicious food. Let's go step-by-step: Parking is always a Walnut Creek problem. I suggest parking on the west side (closer to the freeway) and walking a block. We were seated about 20 minutes after our reservation. There is no place to wait inside the restaurant, and no room at the bar, so we and others waited outside. Lita has very limited seating. If you take away the outdoor seating, wow, it's small. They need to expand! We sat near the host stand. That location is far too close to the employees and that table simply needs to be removed. My wife's head was inches from the behinds of the host staff. The cocktails were fun and tasty, and many of us explored the unique margaritas. There were four of us and we shared many items. The ceviche was a real winner, and the spicy house-made chips were fabulous. We all liked the fusion of flavors. Service was excellent: our server knew the menu well and provided good advice. I see in other comments that service can be uneven. Our experience, fortunately, was great. There was a very large table next to us -- 18? -- but it did not impact us. Prices were comparable for this location and style. So, it's a little pricey but not unreasonable. In sum, highly recommended! We look forward to going back.

Yelp
In the heart of DT Walnut Creek. There's street parking but it is not easy to find a parking spot. We made reservations for a party of four. Employees are attentive but we got rushed out after eating. We spent over $230+ for food and drinks. Waitress said they need the table for another party. For this reason, not sure I like to be back here for eat. We started off by ordering mangonada margaritas. Beautiful drink and tasty. It comes with a popsicle. It's a pretty tasty drink. We ordered pulled pork empanadas, guava ceviche, shrimp pasta, oxtail with bean rice, Mac n cheese pie, and end it with donut holes with rum. I enjoyed the pulled pork empanadas and the curry shrimp pasta. I'm not a huge fan with the braised oxtail as much. It's too salty for my taste. I prefer shrimp ceviche over Guava ceviche. It seems weird with the sweet guava sauce drenched all over the fish and not tasting anything else. Donut hole was good.

Yelp
Best Caribbean style restaurant I have been in the bay area. Great ambiance with friendly staff. Lobster corn dog- 5/5 this is the highlight and I will definitely go back again. The way the lobster is deep fried in the batter and presented as a corn dog is master piece. Jerk chicken Tacos- 5/5 they are huge and good amount of Jerk chicken is added. Chips with chilli lime seasoning is a must try.

Yelp
Reservation was set at 7 ahead of time but didn't get sat until 7:30pm (this was the day before Mother's Day) While I was not promised the time I reserved, the service I experienced upon being seated made up for it. Food and ambiance are up to par which I can see why this spot is always so busy! As for the food, I never had this cuisine so I was excited. The portions are honestly pretty huge. The oxtail was not on the share side of menu and persionally, I felt like it can feed 3 people. The jerk chicken is well seasoned and juicy. I was a fan of the sides as well! Literally there was nothing bad asides from waiting for a hot minute. Their drinks are also pretty strong. I would reccomend going here even if you have to wait past your reservation time!

Yelp
Great service and staff. They were friendly, nice, and made my birthday lunch a great celebration. Started off with tuna ceviche and that was delicious. Ordered the brussel sprouts, not a fan of them normally, but the seasoning made it pretty good. Couldn't complain. Ordered the coconut curry chicken. There was good amount of chicken in the curry. I liked the sliced tomatoes, it had a nice little heat to it. But everything on the plate was really good, I would order again. Got a side of the red cabbage. Didn't expect it to be half a read cabbage plates, was expecting it shredded. Nonetheless was good but a bit too vinegar taste for myself. Had an order of the pineapple upside down cake. That was a great finish to lunch. The gelato was a great pairing with the cake.

Yelp
The food here is so yummy. We reserved a table on the outdoor patio. Our waiter was attentive and provided great service. We'd like to come back and check out the inside dining experience!

Yelp
Lita is a restaurant I will always want to go to. The first time I came here was with my boyfriend in the summer and I tried the skirt steak with chimichurri on top, the coco Lita and the chips and guac to share. The chips are seasoned, absolutely delicious! **I'm not too crazy about the rice that comes with most meals though. This recent time I went for Valentine's Day I got an espresso martini and decided to try the risotto and I was pleasantly surprised since I've never tried risotto. The staff always keeps it classy and efficient here! The food and drinks at this restaurant are always a 10/10. The vibes are great, this restaurant has a moody, intimate and social atmosphere to it. Always a great time at Lita

Yelp
Finally a place that makes rice and peas just like the restaurants in the East Coast! We were so happy that we tried out this restaurant because now we want to go back. Before I talk about the food, I just want to say that there's a parking structure around the corner because locals know that parking is horrible in Walnut Creek. Another thing I wanted to mention is to make reservations ahead of time. This restaurant gets VERY busy. Now for the food. I ordered the trios ceviches with the plantain chips. No regrets there. The curry goat was cooked to perfection. We were surprised when the jerk chicken tacos were served. The portions were more than we expected. If anything, we should've ordered 2 tacos because we couldn't finish it all. My son ordered the skirt steak and he enjoyed that. For dessert, we tried the donut holes with Coquito shots. Thinking about it, got me craving for more. They have a really good drink (alcohol) selection. I ordered the Isle de Tigre. So good, but strong. As for the service, it was excellent. The food was served fast and our waitress was really friendly and attentive to our table. I loved the vibrant colors. Overall dining experience here was A1. Now I know where to go whenever I need my jerk chicken fix. I even made a future dining reservation there while I was at the restaurant lol.

Yelp
Came here tonight for a friend's belated birthday celebration. I had been wanting to try LITA since it opened a few years ago and two of my friends (including the one whose birthday we were celebrating) liked it. One of my friends made a reservation online so we were seated right away at a booth in the back. We were initially a party of 4 but ended up being 3 as one person couldn't make it. I'm not sure if the friend who made the reservation notified LITA in advance but they didn't give us a hard time that we were down one person. We started off with drinks as well as chips & guac. I had a guava mojito and unfortunately I don't remember which ones my friends had (one was torched). The mojito was sweet but I definitely felt the buzz (so take uber/lyft or have a designated driver!). The chips had the perfect combo of sweet, spicy, and tangy. In fact, I'd go as far to say that they were the best tortilla chips I've had. The addition of pineapple to the guac added a sweetness that I haven't seen elsewhere. For our entrees, we had the rundown, seafood pasta, and jerk salmon. My entree was the rundown - the fish was flaky and the dish itself was tasty but not worth $29 for the portion. I tried the seafood pasta and the jerk salmon. I could definitely taste the spices in the pasta but not overly spicy. The jerk salmon was cooked perfectly and I loved the sweetness of the sauce. Sometimes salmon can be overcooked but not the case here. Our waiter, Dominic, was friendly and patient with our questions. The only issue I had with service was that my mojito was refilled without asking me if I wanted another one and informing me that it would be an extra charge. Fortunately, they took the second charge off the bill when I pointed out that I didn't actually order a second one, Word to the wise, the restaurant is noisy. Sometimes it was difficult to hear/be heard. While LITA is a bit pricey for me to be a regular, I would come back for a special occasion to try more items on the menu. The seafood pasta and the mushroom quesadilla caught my eye, and thanks to my friend ordering it, the jerk salmon.

Yelp
Very fun place for brunch! The food and drinks were delicious! The waiters were very attentive to us and service was quick! Pretty decent price for the food you get.

Yelp
We came here for Father's Day. Our first time here. The food, drinks and service were excellent. Small inside, but quaint and lively. My dad loved his jerk salmon, my mom and daughter loved their black pepper prawns and I really enjoyed the barramundi (Rundownn), but I tasted the black pepper prawns and wish I had ordered that instead. DELICIOUS! I'd definitely come back again.

Yelp
This was my choice for my birthday dinner and it didn't disappoint. The restaurant itself is a complete vibe. There was greenery as you walked in giving you an island, Caribbean atmosphere.....I am thinking Curacao!! Everything that I ate was so flavorful and filling. I wanted to stop eating but didn't. Of course there was food that I took home but not much. The drinks are sexy, refreshing, and most importantly....something for everyone. We had 3 different servers because the server for the area was on lunch. I was impressed, the show kept going until our server came back, and she killed it. She was so friendly and accommodating. She also knew the menu and helped us make drink decisions, absolutely outstanding. That coconut gelato with rum raisin sauce though.. Whatever you do, don't miss that. This little joint is putting the WC restaurant scene on the map.

Yelp
I had been seeing and hearing about LITA and I wanted to love it, but in all honesty it was eh! We came out to celebrate my moms heavenly birthday (it's been on year.) so we popped out. The atmosphere is cool the staff was nice. We had the ceviche, salt and pepper shrimp, and chicken and beef empanada appetizers. The shrimp left a lot to be desired in terms of flavor, the ceviche was cool, the empanadas were fire! I would recommend the beef, but the chicken was also really good. For meals some went with the oxtails, others the salmon, I had the fish! I tasted the oxtails and they were ok at best! But the fish was hit with me! The kind of overdue it with the peppers but the overall flavor on the fish was really good! Try it if you'd like I think it's overall just an ok experience.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service. The bowls are definitely worth trying out - we got curry chicken and it was pretty delicious. We will be back

Yelp
Food is amazing. Appetizers and "shareable" dishes are super tiny though. The pork belly bao comes with 2 pieces only, the pork belly is very tender, bao is very soft, very pricey. The squid salad says it is "shareable", as you can see in the picture, it is super tiny, the 3 of us each had 1 bit! We each had about 2 teeny pieces of squid, rest were tomatoes and celery. Extremely. Pricey for the amount of food. On the positive side, all the entrees were a decent portion, the meats were very tender, tasty. I love the mango slaw that came with my bowl. The mango ice tea was good.

Yelp
Lita is such a vibrant and excellent addition to downtown Walnut Creek, bringing a breath of fresh air and excitement to the area. This is definitely a spot to get a little dressed up or add a bit of extra pizazz for! Make reservations ahead of time, this is an extremely popular/head turning spot. This was the second time I frequented Lita with reservations for an outing with friends and truly adore the atmosphere. While smaller inside than one may think from the exterior, very cozy yet lively digs. We've shared the Lita house made chips and dips, Brussel's sprouts, and Pork belly bao for our most recent trip with a few fun rounds of drinks. I still haven't had the Lita lobster corn dog (I know, I know), but third times a charm and already looking forward to the next visit. The food quality, plating, and taste are all there ~ unique dishes, fresh ingredients, a beautiful blend of flavor and visuals. My only qualms, service on a busy Saturday weekend was just okay and didn't unfortunately match the vibrance of the dishes and vibe of restaurant. Other than that, solid outing splurging a bit in the WC!

Yelp
Great drinks, okay food, cool vibes! I made a reservation for 8:30pm on a Saturday night and we arrived at about 8:05pm and they were able to seat us immediately in one of the booths. We loved having the booth. When I was booking the reservation, I had written that we were celebrating my husband's birthday so I had asked for a candle when the dessert was to be brought out. As first-timers, we loved the vibrant colors and ambiance of the restaurant. It does get a little loud in there on a Saturday night with all of the guests filling the tables. We ordered the guave mojito and the cucumber crush and we loved how refreshing they tasted without tasting too much like alcohol. I don't drink often so I was happy that my drink didn't taste too strong. We chose the shrimp aguachile from the Shareable options. It had a good, mild flavor. I personally like my aguachile to be on the spicier side but I know not everyone can handle heat. The chili lime chips were a fun, flavorable touch that paired nicely with the aguachile. For dinner entrees, I chose the Black Pepper Shrimp due to seeing great reviews on TikTok. The portion was great for the entree in my opinion. The flavor of the sauce on this dish reminds me a lot of Mexican mole poblano: slightly sweet with some Earthy flavor. My husband chose the Lita Steak Dinner and had asked for it Medium-Rare. The first time they brought his steak out, it was cooked Medium-Well so we politely notified our server who kindly took it back to the kitchen and brought us the Medium-Rare steak shortly later. When we had placed the entree order with our server, the server did confirm each item we had ordered including that the steak was asked to be Medium-Rare. He liked the flavor and the texture of the steak. The presentation looked very nice for all of the dishes. Definitely eye-catching! We were so full from dinner that we weren't going to order dessert so I didn't expect the birthday candle that I had asked for when I booked the reservation online. We actually didn't order dessert but our server, Mario, was so kind that he surprised us with a coconut ice cream with a birthday candle! We loved that detail to customer service. Overall, a cute spot for a date or a girls' night! I think I would try the Jerk Salmon next time and I would love to try more of the fruity cocktails on their menu.

Yelp
Amazing food as always. Great service. Amazing atmosphere. I let the host know that I had a shellfish allergy and Raya confirmed and checked about cross contamination. I had the Mamacita cocktail and it was DEE-licious! So refreshing. I felt like I was in the tropics. We ordered the ceviche trio - and again, Raya made sure to point out which one had shrimp. We ordered the whole fried fish, the jerk chicken with the following sides: Crispy Sprouts Macaroni Pie Rice and Peas Baby Kale Salad Everything was flavorful and beautifully plated. We wanted to try dessert but we ran out of time for our reservation slot. :(

Yelp
The dude and I come to Lita about once a month or when we are in town. The ambiance is a nice vibe I always dance to . Love the music and decor. The staff is amazing and friendly. We love enjoying our time here and can easily run up a $200 tab just on food and drinks with no dessert. The food is flavorful and love they have vegetarian options for me. Love the mushroom quesadillas and oh! The Brussel sprouts are sooooooo good!!! Who says veggies can't be as tasty than meat. The vegetarian bowl is soo good. So many different textures and flavors it works. You can't go wrong with it. The cocktail are always delicious never a miss in my book. I can easily throw back a few with no problem. Overall, definitely a great time to come here and grab some delicious unique eats!!!

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday here. Our waiter Sean was very patient with us lol. He didn't miss a beat and made sure we were good at all times. Everything was so delicious here. And the drinks are so much fun and strong. I highly recommend the empanadas, the flight of ceviche and the oxtails! Vibes inside are so cute and they played great music. Make sure you make a reservations ahead of time. they are always booked!

Yelp
Lunch for 4. - Ambiance (4*) Cozy restaurant, but maybe a little too cozy. Our table was backed up pretty close to the bar. - Service (4*) Friendly, speedy. - Oxtail Bowl, $31 (4*) Fall off the bone oxtails. Velvety sauce. Refreshing accompaniments. The only thing keeping it from a 5* was that it was a tad salty, even when mixing the sauce and meat with the accompaniments. - Value (3*) Oxtails are expensive but not that expensive. The bowl felt a little on the expensive side. - Final Word Great flavors, good food. Worth a return visit to check out more items on the menu.

Yelp
Extremely solid spot! Impeccable service as well! Our waiter was super attentive and continually checked up on us and asked us if everything was good consistently. The food reflected the service. On point! We tried several dishes. Jerk Chicken - The chicken was excellent! Albeit a tad bit salty in my opinion but overall an incredible dish. It has a slight kick to it but it did not overwhelm the dish at all. Macaroni pie - Solid! Macaroni and cheese but in a chunk slice form. The cheese wasn't insanely heavy or overdone. It was near perfection. Creamy, yet delicate. Lobster corn dog - I personally would pass on this one next time. There were assorted sauces and dips that were delicious, but other than that, it is essentially a lobster tail with corn dog breading. Salt Cod fritters - My favorite dish of the night. Salty, yet not overwhelming. The cod wasn't fishy at all and in fritter form it was a complete delight. Paired with the sauces from the corn dog I would be able to take down 2 more plates of these. Overall, I nee to come back!

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my girls for an early Galentines celebration! They do take reservations, which is a plus, and since they weren't busy, they were able to take us in early! The food is yummy, but a little on the pricier side! The drinks- especially the chicalitas, were tiny, but mighty! Personally, I did not like the Nopa- lita because it had a smoky taste to it! The others though, were yummy! This restaurant isn't big, but the higher ceilings make it feel bigger than it actually is! The workers were great & were very attentive to filling up our water cups! My only complaint was the floors! They were so slippery! So if you decide on drinking several drinks- you might want to be careful when standing up from your chair! Overall, our experience was great! It's located in downtown Walnut Creek so there are a couple parking lots around & tons of street parking!

Yelp
LITA is a very cute date night spot with great food and vibes. A little pricey but great ambiance and in a fun location in downtown Honestly I'm not sure if I would go again, so I'm rating this 4 stars but it was a good night out.

Yelp
We've kept meaning to drop into Lita and finally made a lunch of it. After being seated on the patio, we ordered the Chips and Guacamole, Plantains, Jerk Chicken Bowl, and Pork Belly Bao, and of those, we found the plantains to be the undeniable winner, the aioli it was served with setting off the dish perfectly. Sadly everything else we received tasted poorly designed. The guacamole flavors felt unbalanced with an excessive use of citrus and the chips seemed twice fried and were covered with a sprinkled seasoning that ended up all over our hands. The bao (two items) were unpleasant to eat. In certain spots the meat hit the palate so spicy it ruined the natural flavor of the pork belly and kept building, however in other spots it seemed to have no spice whatsoever. Finally, although we didn't find the jerked chicken bowl to be that far of a miss, the flavor on the chicken didn't hit, and we felt it lacked levels and dimension. The food notwithstanding, we found the service to be generally prompt but not especially friendly. All in all, the price point doesn't line up with with the experience, so we don't plan to return.

Yelp
When in downtown Walnut Creek, this is the place to be! The food and vibes here are immaculate! We wanted to try as much as we could and that we did. We ordered 4 cocktails each & enjoyed them all: Ay Madre, Jardin de Balata, St. Croix Crystal Milk Punch & the Nopa-LITA which was my favorite. It can also be ordered as a shot! For our starters, it was an absolute MUST that we order the Lobster Corndog! It is a whole lobster tail which explains the price ($37) but it was worth trying! We also ordered the Trio of Ceviche & Pork Belly Bao. The ceviche was good, the shrimp aguachile was my fave. But the plaintain chips were too hard for my liking. The pork belly bao bun was so soft with the most tender pieces of pork belly! Hands down, the highlight of the evening was the Pimento Braised Pork Shank which is perfect to share for two! The fall off the bone pork was so tender and flavorful, & paired so well with the rice & peas & sides of macaroni pie & mofongo. A perfect date night spot!

Yelp
Maybe a 3.5? Finallyyyy made my way to LITA! My husband and I tried walking in for dinner for LITA one evening and it was too packed so we had no luck. So the next time we wanted to go (and with a larger group this time), my friend made sure to make a reservation. Our group of 7 stopped by for a Saturday lunch. The restaurant inside is not that big. They really seemed to pack as many tables as they could in there. We were originally sat at a larger table but then they moved us to a smaller one because they needed our table for a bigger group. The table we ended up in was right next to the bar and we were practically back to back with the folks at the bar. I'm surprised they were even able to get out without asking us to move tbh. Even on our own table we were a little cramped. Still the ambiance is really nice. The decor is beautifully lush and they do have some fun lighting on the way to the bathroom. Food was good, though not as great as I'd hope it to be for the price. For me, I feel like the best thing we got was the empanadas ($15 per order with 3 pcs). Both the beef and chicken empanadas were really good. The baos were pretty good as well. For my main I got the pressed jerk chicken sandwich. I liked it - it was a little sweeter than I was expecting (maybe the relish) and personally I wish there was more meat but with appetizers it was still filling. I'll probably still try it again. I think it's a good date night spot or a place for a girls night out.

Yelp
I loved the ambiance and the service was great. You may need a reservation but we got lucky and was seated right away even though they were crowded. The braised oxtails were very good and it was a good size serving. My husband ordered the steak but he said it needed salt. Overall the food was good and the pineapple upside down cake was delicious.

Yelp
LITA is like a little slice of Miami in the heart of Walnut Creek with its vibrant interior and energetic vibe! I came here after attending an art opening nearby and it really reminded me of my own Miami travels- there's fun lights, a cozy ambiance, and great Caribean food. We started with the di Stefano burrata, followed by sweet plantains, beef empanadas, and a coconut curry chicken burrito, which was on the small plates menu but was actually so large we had to take some home! For dessert, we ordered a pineapple upside-down cake that was actually shaped like a pineapple! It came with a generous scoop of coconut gelato and a drizzle of rum and raisin sauce that tasted like you're on vacation. I ordered a cappuccino since it was brunch-ish, but I need to come back to get all the fun cocktails I saw being ordered around me!

Yelp
Stopped in for cocktails and were impressed by the fantastic selection, including sangria, wine, and beer. We also shared the chips and guac--the guac was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I had a unique rum cocktail with Aperol, which was expertly balanced and delicious. Highly recommend, and I'd love to return for dinner!

Yelp
This was our first time visiting this establishment and we were very happy with both the service and food and drinks. It is not a very big place but it is very modern. Our waitress was excellent and gave us some very good recommendations. It will definitely be on my list for future visits

Yelp
Amazing. Best meals in a long time. Trevor did a great job. We had curry empanadas harvest salad and cod fritters. Happy!

Yelp
It's more like 4.5 stars than four stars. Quality/Quantity - Wow, the FOOD is fantastic! I would come here alone for the food. While it seems small, with a bar in the middle, we made a reservation and had a seat outside, which wasn't too bad on weekday evenings in early December. Rain covers could have made it feel a little cozier, but the heaters did the job right. For two of us, we ordered: Caribbean Beef Empanadas, Lobster Corndog, and Octopus Salad - dressing on a side, and Ahi Tuna Ceviche with Yuca Chips, Every dish was terrific. The portions were more than enough for two people, but I believe ordering three would have been better for us. I had a great experience with the server - checking on us consistently felt good.

Yelp
Enjoyed brunch at the bar with a friend and we LOVED our experience. The food was amazing, the staff was very attentive and helpful (since we were facing the cooking line they would inform us of items we may like as well) ... we happily took their suggestions. The head chef even made an appearance and thank us and the patrons near by for stoping in ... Super cute spot - Will be back!!

Yelp
I went to Lita about two weeks ago, but it wasn't my first visit. This time I opted for a couple of drinks and appetizers but hands-down still delicious! Service still on point the ambience was super inviting great for a date night. Great for girls night great fora solo night.

Yelp
Why did I wait so long to eat here!?! Sat outside in their front patio. They have umbrellas for shade and heaters for when it's cold. As for drinks get the mangonada margarita! Not only does it look amazing with its popsicle on top, but it's the best mango margarita I've ever had. Another must is their oxtail bowl. It's pricier to get the oxtail but it's so worth it! It's the best entree I've had in a long time. The appetizers are good too but if I just got the bowl I'd leave just as happy. It's always pretty busy so it's best to have a reservation especially during peak hours.

Yelp
Great vibe but definitely overpriced. The food is good and the service is even better. So if you're looking for a space for a girls night out or a chill date night, this is the place. I would recommend coming in summer when the weather is just right, because their patio area is beautiful and airy. I tried the empanadas and the steak and I loved both but I do recommend getting a few things and sharing with the table. The drinks were cute and fancy but not worth the price tag.
