Ann Arbor’s Best Coffee Shops - Eater Detroit

"Coffee pairs just as well with books as it does with pastries and Literati Coffee has both. As part of the very popular namesake bookstore, this brightly lit space also hosts book signings, poetry readings, and other scholarly events." - John Reyes

I fell in love with this coffee shop! It was my first time going. I was with my sister. We ordered 2 drinks and a scone. The guys at the counter were so sweet and nice. Our drinks were so good and very well presented. The atmosphere was very pleasant. It was a good place to sit and chat and catch up (which was what I did) but you also see a bunch of people with laptops working or doing homework. It was absolutely perfect. I loved it.

Coffee was smooth, but light - I would personally prefer it stronger and heavier - and the taste is not as unique as other cafes in the area. Perfect place for a quite study. Slow service for a weekend day, but a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.

Super cute cafe above the bookstore with friendly staff. They have relaxing music playing and it would be an enjoyable place to work for an afternoon. It does seem to get pretty busy though!

Super cute hipster coffee shop with delicious coffee. I tried the hot chocolate and the vanilla latte and they were great. There's also an adorable little children's book shop inside. The shop also looked like a nice place to do some schoolwork--I saw a few students working there. The coffee shop is also just above a cute bookstore; it's seems like the two shops have a symbiotic relationship.

I've visited here several times with friends, and each time has been a good experience. I typically order a drip coffee, which is always prepared quickly and with care. There is a decent amount of seating, and many of the seats are near the windows. The seats along the outside of the room are certainly ideal, since they are near windows and outlets, but the other seats aren't terrible. They close the seating area early in the evening to prepare for events, so be sure to check the schedule before you plan a late evening trip here.

This place is just cool! Try the muffin, one of the best I have recently had. The view and the music is awesome Definitely recommend it

Great local coffee. Their espresso drinks are particularly excellent. Plenty of seating and even when it's crowded you can always find somewhere to sit. Baristas are knowledgeable and friendly. All in all quite possibly my favorite coffee shop anywhere.

The coffee is great (espresso with sparkling water, yes please!) and the location itself is beautiful. What makes Literati perfect is the combination of the coffee shop with an amazing book store downstairs. Only downside: Gets crowded at time, especially during the semesters. Finding seating can be hard.
