First time here today. Wasn't disappointed. Will be back many many times. The service was great. We were greeted with big smiles and a shared interest for pinball.
Gourmet hotdogs aren't something I order regularly so maybe that's the deal with poppy seed buns. I couldn't tell you because I'm no expert. My hotdog was tasty, but my hot dog bun completely fell apart before I got it in my mouth. Whenever I do order a gourmet hotdog, I like to get some stuff on it and they give you the usual good stuff. The friend I was with prefers the classic old ketchup & mustard. We also ordered the chips/salsa. The salsa was too mild and could've been chunkier in my opinion. We didn't notice that the hotdogs came with chips, so we had plenty of chips that we wasted.
I would love love to see the menu expanded to included burgers, cheese curds, wings, onion rings, and pizzas. They just opened, so I'm sure as this establishment starts getting noticed, things will just get better.
There are a few TVs on the wall playing some various content. Movies, sports, etc...Since we were here during the day, there wasn't any music in the background. Maybe the night scene is different.
Coming down here in the middle of the day makes perfect sense for me. Not sure how the area holds up at night with the riff raff that downtown can so often be associated with (in my opinion).
The machines are in really good condition. I noticed only a couple machines not behaving correctly and the technician was working hard to resolve the issues. If we're talking pinball, this is to be expected. But other barcade competitors don't have this kind of attention.
You are not gonna find a better barcade on the area. They have all the AAA pins and they were being monitored by a tech. The tech was friendly too and answered a few questions I had about the machines and their upkeep. I have been to several places to play pins and this place has the goods. You go to some places to play pinball and 50% of their machines have some sort of malfunction, they only have 1 or 2 AAA-style machines, or they have a sign up in their window during 'regular operating hours' and their door is locked until the owners return from errands.
Right now, every machine is on.25 cents a play and they have two electro mechanicals for a dime per play! We were there for almost three hours. I didn't ask, but I'm guessing the .25/play is associated with their recent opening, so if you want access to AAA pinball, don't wait long.
Parking is a little tough to come by, but they said they are in the process of coming up with a solution. We parked about a block away in the rain and it was still worth it.
East Side Pinball is about their closest competition. But East Side is really not their own establishment, but rather a handful of good, well-maintained pinball machines nestled into a primarily a bowling alley. Tilt, on the other hand, is a pinball bar...period.
I am going to start regularly budgeting from here on out for 1-2 visits per week. I loved it. It was like being in pinball heaven. I really hope they succeed because its a fun place to be.
