The Most Remote Restaurants in the World

"For anyone looking to head into the desert and court a close encounter of the third kind, the Little A’Le’Inn provides food, lodging, and endless information for UFO seekers along The Extraterrestrial Highway (Nevada State Route 375). In operation for over 20 years, this restaurant on the way to Area 51 and other Nevada locations known to attract E.T’s embraces the area’s lore to the extreme and has all of the alien paraphernalia one could hope for. Stop by for a meal or a souvenir and the friendly staff will also fill you in on the best spots for watching the skies!" - ATLAS_OBSCURA

I spent a couple nights here before camping out in the Great Basin and had a good time at this place. The rooms are a pretty good deal - the bed is cozy and the AC works quite well. Plus it had a spacious living room area and all of it was clean. The folks around this place made for an interesting stay, but the person I appreciated most was Realm. She was the most genuine (by far) and I knew that anything I asked her about the place and Area 51 would be met with a straightforward, truthful answer. The other folks were alright also, some of them more genuine than others. But it was obvious to me that collectively, they liked to tweak genuine seekers (like myself.) Though I don’t think they would do it in a way of putting anyone in a precarious situation. To anyone who wants to travel to this area and (legally) see what you can see at such a mystic place as Area 51, the Little A’Le’Inn is a must stop for you. Also, if you plan on camping out in the Great Basin like I did after my two nights stay here, please be extremely careful. I got lost out there and very miraculously found my way back to my truck. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be writing this. I do believe that if these local folks tell you anything about what you need to do or don’t do while you’re out there in vast, but very dangerous expanse of the desert, you should listen to them and heed their advice. It’s a place that can get you killed very quickly and I don’t believe these folks would ever lead someone to their certain demise.

We only stopped in for lunch while passing through, so I can't say anything about the hotel rooms. The restaurant/bar and gift shop though were really fun. They really lean into the Area 51 theme (I think we might have passed some of the employee shuttle buses for Area 51 on our way here, but that's a story for a different day). Sure, it's a tourist trap, but it is a surprisingly reasonably priced tourist trap, with prices more akin to a typical truck stop than to Disneyland. The food was good and the service was fairly quick (don't expect to just be in and out though, they aren't rushing, they are taking the time to do things right). Also, down the street is a gas station with a gift shop, I think it is owned by the same people, make sure to stop in there as well... if you don't absolutely need enough gas to make it somewhere else, you might not want to get gas, because it is some of the most expensive in the state (I can't say it is unreasonable though, I'm sure it costs a fortune to get fuel delivered out here), but the gift shop there is even more extensive than the one in the Little A'Le'Inn and there is very little overlap in what the two carry.

Stayed for one night. Room’s were clean with shared bathroom(was never an issue). Had the Alien burger(bonus they had gluten free bread!) The food was good! Realm was working the bar and was super friendly and hospitable! Loved hanging out with the locals and tourists alike! 10/10 if you’re looking for something different! Can’t wait to go back! 👽

We called in for food and refreshments on a day trip to Rachel. Spent a couple of hours there before travelling back to Las Vegas. Food and drinks all ok, as expected for such a remote place. The lady who greeted us was incredibly friendly and welcoming and we had a great time. Hubby had wanted to visit for many years and we were not disappointed by the character of the establishment and Rachel in general. Align expectations that this is a small, basic but friendly cafe/bar. It is full of photos and information and we thoroughly enjoyed our short amount of time there.

My daughter Kerry and I stopped here on our road trip around Nevada and Arizona.|It was fantastic, right from our arrival to departure we were met with nothing but friendship and courtesy. Michael and Bob were brilliant hosts especially Michael who sorted our accommodation after we’d messed up our booking. The food was very good, the accommodation was basic but clean and comfortable.|Great directions to the back gate of Area 51.|A real highlight on our US adventure.

A memorable and almost legendary spot. A must-visit if you're nearby. Nothing particularly extraordinary, but the atmosphere, the food, and especially the staff — friendly and full of personality — make the experience truly enjoyable. Don’t forget to grab a little souvenir and keep the moment alive! :)

We stopped at the Little A’Le’Inn for lunch (we did not stay here), and it was an experience we’ll never forget. Try their famous Alien Burger and Out-of-This-World Chili before picking up some souvenirs to commemorate your visit. The location and cultural aspect of the place was important to us - we squarely fall in the group of UFO enthusiasts, fans of The X-Files and simply curious about the mysteries of Area 51. A must-stop along the Extraterrestrial Highway even if you are not staying overnight!

It is a little drive, a great location, on the ET highway 373. The burgers 🍔 they make are great. Great place to go to if you are into aliens 👽. This is the place to be. Staff is always nice and friendly. If you visit, please hang some dollars on the ceiling. So they can donate them.
