If you're on a road trip, or sightseeing, the gift shop here is worth a visit. There's also a restaurant here, but I didn't try it (based on the reviews, the burgers are good). When I was in college, in April 2007, we had a field trip to the Nevada Test Site, not too far from here. It was somewhat of a strange and intriguing trip, as I don't remember too much from the test site tour (which is peculiar--because I have a somewhat decent memory). Nonetheless, I stopped here, earlier today, after finishing a 3-mile hike up Tikaboo Peak. The weather was interesting, to say the least--lots of pink/purple lightening, thunder, but no rain?? Between living in--and visiting--different areas of the country, some travel internationally, as well as when I used to fly aircraft up until 2012 (I've flown over 1,000 hours as pilot-in-command, in airplanes, between 2004 and 2012), I've seen lots of different weather phenomena in my lifetime, but nothing ever like this. My grandfather, who passed away about two years ago, was an Army General, who specialized in intelligence operations. In the five or so years before he died, he told me some shit that I wish he did NOT tell me (usually when he was a few glasses into a wine bottle)--and I can't help but wonder...
