Little A'Le'Inn

Been wanting to go here for years, it was great to visit! People were friendly and atmosphere was exactly what I was expecting! Lots of souvenirs and prices were decent, food and drink choices were good as well. Well worth the drive (at least for me!)

Drive 160 miles North of Vegas for a tolerable Alien Burger for $11. Its worth it. Its about being in the middle of nowhere and 10 miles East of a place that doesn't exist. You can buy a map to dreamland for fifty cents and a couple stickers too. Its an awesome motorcycle ride.

GROSS GROSS GROSS Flies in the bedroom and it is filthy!||Started off on a bad note as the restaurant was not open, even though I had emailed the owner before arriving to double check. We had to drive to Alamo (1 hour each way) for service station crap food. ||Arrived back after dark to find out rooms full of flies. Absolutely gross! Towels are dirty! Hair i n the shower! ||The doors of the unit is not fit for purpose. The units are very basic and not worth the time and effort to get here. ||What was supposed to be a fun trip for my family to explore Area 51 quickly turned into a regrettable experience and ruined our time here.||Luckily I only booked 1 night and was happy to get out of here. ||My advice is to stay in Vegas and drive out for the day, if you want to even bother at all. Definitely not worth the time or money

Spent two nights camping here, staff were very welcoming! Did a lot of hiking so by the time we got back The Double Alien Burger really hit the spot. Had the saucer burger the next day equals good. Drive careful lots of cows by and in the road

I really enjoyed my stay at the Little A'Le'Inn. The food was amazing, the safe was extremely helpful and friendly. Everyone there really cared about their job and the area. There was a ton of great stories to be heard. Im looking forward to staying there again.

We stayed overnight in our RV, had a great time talking with some of the locals and enjoyed a delicious piece of pie. The next morning we treated ourselves to breakfast which was so good. Highly recommend the green chili omelette! Definitely worth a leisurely stop!

I am so surprised with how much we absolutely LOVED staying here. I had relatively low expectations but this place had probably the cleanest rooms of any hotel I have stayed at. The food at the restaurant was beyond affordable, with generous portions, and absolutely delicious. The staff...Just WOW. Everyone was so kind, helpful, and like old friends. Happy to chat or help with anything you need. Cons: beds were a bit hard and shared bathrooms are interesting.

The food in the restaurant was limited, but was very very good. Great photo stop if you’re in the area. Don’t forget the dry lake bed across the street. People that own and operate this location are some of the nicest people I have met all year. Thanks guys, appreciate everything. Highly recommend.

You have to stop here!! Not just a tourist stop!!! Food and drinks were well made and the atmosphere was electric. Bartender was loaded with personality and was great at upselling....souvenirs sell so easily here. Double cheeseburger and fries were fresh and loaded with flavor. Green slime drink was almost too good! Garnished with an alien on the top. Take the time to look at all the items on display outside. Extra terrestrial items to catch your eye!!

We stayed here for 4 nights/5 days in one of their RV spots. Just got back home. A roadside motel with lots of charm, good food and drink and fun locals to talk to. The gift shop and decor are terrific - the whole experience was memorable, a 'trip of a lifetime'. The food is decently priced and pretty tasty. The employees we interacted with were awesome! David was very cool and full of information and local lore as was the stoic, charming gentleman with the white beard (sharp dresser too!) The purpose of our visit was to check out Area 51 which we did several days...we were even shadowed by the 'white trucks'. A lot of other stuff to do in the area as well. This is a must see for anyone driving through the desert in this area or as a destination spot, which it was for us. Miss them already!

Can't be missed. Good food and souvenirs. Don't forget to leave a note for the aliens at the black mailbox South if there, just off the highway.

Welcomed upon entry. Really quiet at most times. Food quick on delivery by a very spontaneous young man. Very happy with my choice of hot turkey. The coke delivered in a can which I have absolutely no problem with. At least it's coke!!!!

Food was of high quality and very tasty. Prepared according to the doneness requested. Bartender/server was friendly, attentive and conversant. The atmosphere is more diner-like than fine dining but I say this to set expectations not to be negative. There are no options close in proximity but even so, choosing the restaurant as a convenient place to eat or take a break from searching Area 51 for aliens is a solid choice for a good time and good food.

This place is simply iconic. It has been sometime since I ventured forth to poke around the Groom Lake Area and let face it, once you leave Tonopah and the TTR, there really is NOTHING out here especially if you want to circumnavigate the NTS The Inn has food and better yet a few minutes with the friendly staff is worth every minute. It also has a gift area and the like. If you are heading out to trigger the cammo dudes or this just happens to be your route stop on by.

5 stars for service, everyone was amazing. The lodging is exactly what you'd expect, staying in a giant trailer in the middle of nowhere I'd recommend renting the whole trailer so you're not sharing lodging (and toilets/showers) with strangers Super kitschy but what else would we expect?

Really enjoyed the nostalgia and the cafe. Lots of souvenir. We stayed the night hoping to see 'lights' in the sky. We saw shooting stars and an amazing galaxy of stars. I've never seen such bright stars before. We even saw the big dipper. The only disappointment were the rooms in the shared trailer/motel. The heater was really loud and keep us awake whenever it came on. The dining room ceiling light was out and we're requested a new bulb at 3pm, but it never came. We'd to improvise using our cell phones. Seems like they focused on the cafe area and neglect the motel side.

2 part honest review. This is very rural but you come here for the experience of the Area 51 lore and curiosity. The resturant small but friendly staff and very good food. The Alien burger was pretty Tasty and in the gravy and biscuits the next morning hit the spot. We came out for the ET extraterrestrial run at midnight and Booked the entire unit #2 $300 for the night for a whole trailer was a great deal.it is however these trailers are dated and worn. I get it. It served its purpose and helped make a great memory and saved us from driving 2.5 hours back into the city. It could stand some updates like a new dining table or at least recover the chairs. The beds are super hard and the shower well. Words can't describe it. We laughed at the paint chips the large AC unit spewed out onto the couch. Somewhat startling to see a lock and loaded mouse trap under the bathroom sink. Basic and well we knew going in what to expect. Glad I took my own pillow case. Not being mean, just honest, if you are good with the wonkiness it's a great place.

In this area you don't really have any options if you want to stop for a meal. You must also take into account that they have to travel a long way to get their food supply. Is it the best lunch I ever had? No, but it was good enough and priced about right. This place is more about the story and atmosphere. I'd stop here again if I was going through the area.

Kewl place! Stayed here last month on road trip from Virginia Beach, VA. Had a fun time! Fun swag to buy. Nice people! Food is excellent! Enjoyed looking up into the night sky to try to see something Out of this World. A place you must stop by when in the area!

Asked my wife what she wanted to do for Mother's Day weekend, and she said she wanted to visit the "Area 51 restaurant they went to in the movie 'Paul'". So, we took the scenic, 300 mile drive and checked it out. Definitely worth a visit if you're anywhere near that part of Nevada! No, it's not glitzy nor flashy, but it's a piece of local color and just a lot of fun. The staff is super friendly and makes everyone feel welcome. They have some fun drinks and a nice little menu.

A feature of the extraterrestrial highway and a must stop for food, alien theme merch and insta friendly snapshots. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was pretty good. Of course I had to try an "Alienburger" which was pretty decent. If I was an alien I'd definitely stop by to sample earthling food and risk getting sent to Area 51!

Stayed here for 2 days while visiting Area 51 and it was a blast. The drinks were surprisingly good. The burger with fries was amazing. And the bartenders and cook were fun to talk to about conspiracy theories A'Le'Inn related or not. The people you meet here are friendly and interesting to talk to. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

You know what you're getting yourself into when you plan to go into the middle of nowhere. For the most part. We booked the night and got the WHOLE single wide. Upon entering, it was apparent that both rooms had been recently slept in. Beds not made up and general human debris on the sheets. The trash cans full and coffee cups used and left there. Nevermind the bathroom that had unflushed urine in it. On the positive side, the woman working the bar/kitchen/check in couldn't have been nicer. Clearly having to do everything. We really were looking forward to the prospect of stargazing away from the lights and just the general randomness of being around Area 51, but this was a bit too much to overlook.

Stayed here for 2 days and had a wonderful experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. I recommend the Alien burger. The rooms are basic, but comfortable. There is no satellite TV. You can pick a vhs or DVD movie from The Evidence Room. Our room and the shared bathroom were very clean. Amenities include a small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. At night, the displays in front light up. Join the staff at the picnic table and enjoy good conversation and hear some of their extraterrestrial experiences. This is a great place to get away from everything, relax and de-stress. Hopefully you will meet Archie the cat. He is such a sweet boy. One thing, make sure you ask permission before you film. Photos are ok.

Well... If you're curious about unidentified advanced aerial vehicles, this is a must-stop site: if you're looking for E.T., this is your Mecca. Lots of hype and UFO paraphernalia, but the tiny bar and kitchen aren't capable of a lot in the way of choices: think of bottles/cans and microwave. Still, there's a lot to see, especially if you're into geocaching. The staff runs between the old and jaded, and the unsuspecting new. Generally, they're nice enough people -- but there isn't a lot of fresh blood in Rachel. Yanno? Locals congregate at the picnic tables when the sun starts getting low on the horizon: they're part of the free entertainment package. Bring treats for the dogs! Planning on staying in a "room", be advised that "rustic" doesn't cover it. Just a hint or two: there's a paved road just south of Rachel that turns off to the right, and one west of Rachel that runs south: these two roads meet, and if you continue going SSW, you're going to start seeing all sorts of warning signs. Don't believe your electronic maps as these roads have about 4-5 names each. Almost immediately, you're under electronic surveillance. Forewarned is forearmed. If you want to spend some time talking with very persistently unpleasant government contractors, ignore the signs. Last hint: if you still have a film SLR camera, get some low-ASA film, crank your lens way down to its lowest f-stop, mount your camera on a very sturdy tripod, point your camera due south, open the shutter, and patiently wait. You might get only star trails. Note: commercial, corporate, and privately-owned aircraft cannot overfly this area. Compré-vous?

So if you're in the area.. this is a must stop at. If for nothing more than to take a look at the walls see all the memorabilia and have a conversation with the locals. Grab a bite to eat, have some interesting conversation and then your drive down the extra terrestrial highway to Area 51. Does life get any better than this ...

We stayed at Little A'Le'Inn on our recent Extraterrestrial highway trip. This Inn and Restaurant is located in Rachel, Nevada, close to the Back Gate of Area 51. It's the final stop of several fun Area 51 themed stops on the way. We booked an entire trailer. If you don't, you may end up sharing a bathroom with someone- just a tip! The rooms were a decent size and they came with a little TV with a VCR (you could borrow some VCRs located in the restaurant. They have a whole collection!). The only thing knocking a star off of my review is that when we went to go to sleep at night there was hair ALL over the blanket under the comforter. I know these aren't 4 star accommodations or anything but that was definitely a bit off putting to me. Other than that, the staff was so friendly and informative. We loved hearing stories and getting advice on what to do for the rest of our trip (we were heading up towards Tonopah and then back down towards Death Valley). The food and mixed drinks were great. I loved trying a few different alien themed cocktails. We also got a few different souvenirs to memorialize our trip. I'd say this is a definite stop if you're making a trip down the ET highway!

Ordered a regular hamburger, I thought, I got bread roll with the smallest piece of the thinnest hamburger you can get, cost extra for cheese. Barely any lettuce, tomato I added ketchup. No mustard No onion I guess get the Saucer burger, I didn't think it was that big of a difference and it was. Fries were good.

Loved this restaurant. Definitely out in the middle of nowhere but it was worth the drive. Food was great and so was the staff. Extremely friendly. Would love to visit again.

As close to Area 51 as we could get.. The first time we were here was in 5/5/11... we purchased some cold drinks, we listened to some cool, interesting stories shared by the owner and hubby studied a map of Rachel so we are aware of the limits and don't end up in unknown territory and be taken in by... no, not aliens, but Feds or authorities or the military... those guarding the AFB facilities at Area 51. Anyway, fast forward to 2020 and we took a detour to Rachel from Ely... got on Highway 375 (aka the Extraterrestrial Highway) and drove some 40 miles to Little A'Le'Inn. We ordered a couple of their "World Famous Alien Burgers" LoL! and a side order of Fries and we were good to go. The indoor table seating were spaced apart nicely to comply with covid guidelines. The dining room was practically empty so no problem. They took down many of their "alien" displays and their "Area 51 restricted area" posters. I could no longer find the pictures they had posted back then of the movie "Paul" which had scenes shot here as well as the movie Independence Day (Will Smith). As we were heading out the sun had just set and the bartender cautioned us to drive carefully in the open range. Yes, folks, be careful of the cows! When the sun starts to set the cows like to cross over the roadways and can be hard to see so reduce your speed to slow down and watch out for CATTLE on the road!!!! Btw, [2011] on our way out of Rachel hubby did took a detour on that dirt road to Groom Lake. Unfortunately, I was asleep in the car. He was telling me that he saw lights blink at him and that was our sign to get out of there or we would never see our families again. Review #2028

If you're on a road trip, or sightseeing, the gift shop here is worth a visit. There's also a restaurant here, but I didn't try it (based on the reviews, the burgers are good). When I was in college, in April 2007, we had a field trip to the Nevada Test Site, not too far from here. It was somewhat of a strange and intriguing trip, as I don't remember too much from the test site tour (which is peculiar--because I have a somewhat decent memory). Nonetheless, I stopped here, earlier today, after finishing a 3-mile hike up Tikaboo Peak. The weather was interesting, to say the least--lots of pink/purple lightening, thunder, but no rain?? Between living in--and visiting--different areas of the country, some travel internationally, as well as when I used to fly aircraft up until 2012 (I've flown over 1,000 hours as pilot-in-command, in airplanes, between 2004 and 2012), I've seen lots of different weather phenomena in my lifetime, but nothing ever like this. My grandfather, who passed away about two years ago, was an Army General, who specialized in intelligence operations. In the five or so years before he died, he told me some shit that I wish he did NOT tell me (usually when he was a few glasses into a wine bottle)--and I can't help but wonder...

While travelling on the Extraterrestrial Highway there are multiple little shops and stops to explore. Little A'Le'Inn is one of them! It doesn't look like much, but the people, food and merch are great! We arrived around 10:00 a.m. and were planning on eating lunch here. However, we arrived earlier than we were expecting so we had some pie instead. We tried the blueberry, cherry and alien fruit pie. I ordered the alien fruit and it was spectacular. So so good. All the flavors just exploded in my mouth and although it was a bit too sweet for me to finish it was damn good. The service was great. We loved the lady waiting on us and she was a hoot. We were laughing and having a good time. They also have some cool merchandise specific to Rachel, Nevada and other items that would make great souvenirs. Overall, this is a great place to stop in and get some food or browse the merchandise.

This was my first and MUCH ANTICIPATED visit to Nevada. My sole purpose was to drive out to this very location for a once in a lifetime experience. I am from the Detroit area, so I flew out to Vegas and met a friend from California. We stayed one night, then rented a car to make this voyage. From the moment we stepped in the door, it felt like we made the best decision. We were greeted warmly by Shay (I hope that I am spelling that right, my friend) and quickly got to know the regulars. I booked a room for the night, so once we settled in, we bellied up to the bar and ordered some food and drink. I ordered a High Life and a BLT with fries, as one does in vacation. Two thumbs up on the food and drink, as well as service. As someone who seems to make new friends wherever I go, I quickly was making fast friends with a few of the locals who offered to take us on a guided tour to the Area 51 line. Now, as a child of the 80's, I was always warned about "stranger danger," but these guys were no strangers. They were friends. As for what happened on that trip out to the super secret territory...that's classified information. Once we returned, my partner and I selected a couple of BHS cassettes for the room. Yes! Oh yes, there was a VCR involved! Be still my retro lovin', 39 year old heart. A fire was made and a beautiful sky was looked upon. For any true adventure seeker, I cannot urge you enough to add this place to your bucket list. If I didn't have a child and job to return to, I would have filled out that application Shay gave me and made myself at home in one of the many empty trailers on the property. This is truly a trip that I will never forget.

Came here for breakfast, and the two ladies one serving, the other cooking were great beyond our belief. They even made sure we were well fed before our drive out. So many very funny things to browse and buy that you're not just popping into a burger shop but a bar/dinner/souvenir shop. Our 5 year old thanked them for the toys he had to play with there. Awesome ambiance and service. Had a great conversation with a few locals and a man from Canada that expresses just how friendly someone can be. You get the attitude you give here so remember you're a visitor in the middle of the desert and the locals have all the information to find what you're looking for lol

It was a great experience. I rode my new Harley from Las Vegas to Rachel, and it was sure worth the ride. The staff was very friendly and willing to answer any questions we had about the items in their store and about Area 51. Did not spend the night, but on a future trip, may do so. OMG! This place is adorable and reasonably priced. The souvenirs are not going to break the bank. Just that fact alone will bring me back because that tells a lot about a business owner; but, next time we're going to stay the night. The staff is so patient and helpful it really was such a fantastic day! We had the cheeseburgers, potato salad, bacon, and, mac and cheese which all were pretty tasty and served picnic style. There's a nice sized spaceship on a tow truck out in the front for all your 'alien' photos. I really can't say enough about Rachel, NV as a whole, blink and you'll miss it all but, the people there are all welcoming. If you're into abandoned places there's a out of commission mine close by (a few city blocks) on the other side of the Extra Terrestrial Highway 375 which was such a neat place. If you're coming from Vegas you'll see it on the right side. Thank you A'Le'Inn for such an awesome day!

Well worth the experience... Yes, very Rural, but that's the appeal... Absolute Stars Forever View, and yes, you'll see some unexpected Shit! Like 4 times in a row about 15 minutes apart Missile's dropping into the bombing range at night lighting up the sky as they dropped across our view... Room was just fine, and breakfast at the restaurant with good company and an explanation of what we had just seen that night made it an Awesome Unscripted Detour...

Fun stop if you find yourself out here. Very friendly staff, lots of merch for your shopping pleasure. Food available.

We stayed here with our RV over Christmas last December. Pat, Connie, their family as well as the other folks who work here made us feel very welcome! We had such a memorable time! The food was awesome! Was great to wander over in the morning for a hot cup of coffee and a delicious breakfast. Just a great place to hang out and enjoy the "Area 51" experience. We will definitely be back!

Great place to stop for a meal and drinks before you venture to the area 51 north gate. Staff was great, atmosphere is awesome definitely that place to stop on an alien hunting road trip.

I live in Vegas and I've decided to go on a little adventure today up the extra terrestrial highway. It's really close area 51 and it actually from Vegas a beautiful drive very picturesque. I've got to the town of Rachel and decided to stop off at the world famous Little A'Le'Inn. What is super fun kitschy little stop! I wanted to buy a sticker I wasn't planning on eating anything but in order to use your credit card you have to spend at least five dollars they had cherry pie so I had a slice. I am not normally a pie fan. It's not some thing I would ever order normally. What does cherry pie was fantastic! There's a little restaurant and a gift shop and it was just some thing I think if you live in Nevada and you want to have a little day trip adventure this is a great place to go!

It's a bit of a drive from anywhere to here, but my husband and I were on a vacation and he has a saying, "We have to try it once...". For me, this is one of those "try it once places". Lunch was good. Basic burgers, canned sodas, chips. The owner/server was very friendly and full of information. The walls are covered with Area 51/UFO/Alien photos. There are all kinds of tee shirts and other memorabilia. For those people on your Christmas list who are into this kind of thing, you can get your gift shopping done here. It makes for a unique afternoon. There is no other place like it.

If you're in the area, you should come here. You're probably in the area because it's practically the base camp for anyone coming for UFO adventures, aviation enthusiasts, Area 51 nuts, camping or a combination of all. This spot is historically important. You've heard of this place if you're coming for the reasons stated above. The food here is good. The prices are cheap. Lots of souvenirs and pictures. The people that work here are super nice and friendly. They cracked me up in a quirky sort of way. I wouldnt expect anything less from people that live on the doorstep of Area 51. You SHOULD eat here. You SHOULD buy a souvenir. Support the venue and the people that work here so you can enjoy your Area 51 trip. Side note, please respect their rules and dont take pictures or video inside. Make sure you tip well. There is great cell phone reception here.

Cute little place. Got the Alien burger. It was mediocre at best. Small thin patty. Over $10. Have to pay additional for french fries I ordered fries extra extra well done. Thy weren't cooked well at all. A true disappointment!! Rode over 200 miles for this. Sad!!

Visited the Little A'Le'Inn on a daytrip to Rachel, and what a blast! The food is perfectly good, has a charming homemade quality about it but the ambiance really takes this place to the next level. Our waiter was also very funny and extremely keen despite being the only staff out front; he was on it on it on it and honestly deserves a medal. At one point, he was dealing with a full bar, tables in and out, as well as the gift shop register and he was equally attentive to everything. Great work! I've wanted to come here since I was a UFO obsessed kid and I'm happy to report (as a UFO obsessed ~adult~) that this place rules.

It's been about five years since our last visit, but the Little A'Le'Inn is just as kitschy and good as I remember! Tourist trap souvenirs everywhere! We bought two stuffed aliens for our dogs to tear up and an ET Highway Coffee Mug. We had The Alien Burger and an Open Face Roast Beef Sandwich. Nothing fancy, but good stick to your ribs food! This is a great place for anyone into Sci-fi, Aliens, UFO's etc.

If you're somehow in Rachel, NV you are DEFINITELY there for the quirk and not for the food. This place delivers in spades. Rachel is a tiny little community on the Extraterrestrial highway famous for Area 51, the black mailbox, x-files and the Little A'Le'Inn. The Little A'Le'Inn is a family affair. Grandma dishes up basic diner fare (and was kind enough to offer a piece of her banana nut bread). There's a bar which is home to the locals, who occasionally pitch in to play hostess to the tourists who wander in. You'll find plenty of photo ops, little souvenirs and lots if UFO pics. If you're here it was probably your destination and it doesn't disappoint. Don't expect anything fancy and you won't be disappointed.

Cute little place. Its a little mobile home sitting in middle of nowhere . The drive is a little long but if your into the adventure it's fun I guess. There are restrooms inside, and it was pretty clean. Food was good, burger, fries and drinks!! Just make sure you check the bill amount at the end before paying, we didn't check and since we were 5 people they just assumed we ordered 5 meals when in fact we ordered 4. Overall it was a good experience kids had fun looking around the place.

Did not eat here as they had stopped serving food on Mondays & Tuesdays two weeks before we got there and we were there on a Tuesday. It had neat little things and the owner was very nice. Overall can say I've been but wouldn't plan a return trip in our travels.

Very nice staff working inside.... Dont know how they do it so politely answering the same questions day in and day out about how to get to area 51 gates. Lots a shirts to but and great prices... Wish I could of tried the food but was not hungry...

We're so glad that our family stopped at this quirky little space. Our food was about average, but the service and staff more than made up for it. It is a struggle for our family to eat out due to many food allergies and dietary restrictions, and everyone at Little A'Le'Inn was so accommodating and patient; they jumped through hoops for us and we truly appreciate it!
