"Ask someone with a gluten allergy about the Little Beet, and you're bound to get an earful of praise—the entire, delicious menu is celiac-friendly. Chef Franklin Becker was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when he was in his 20's and devoted the rest of his career to rebuilding his cooking style; the menu is full of light, healthy meals with an emphasis on lean protein and tons of vegetables. The seasonal menu items are always a sure bet, as are the make-your-own-plate options. There are two other locations, on 50th and Park Ave."

If you're a salad lover who craves customization, look no further than Little Beet! This place truly lets you be the chef. The sheer number of fresh ingredients available is astounding, from various greens and grains to an impressive selection of proteins (grilled, roasted, plant-based – they have it all!). I love being able to craft a bowl that perfectly suits my cravings every time. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch, and the dressings are all fantastic. It's a fantastic spot for a truly personalized and healthy meal. I added beet falafels in my bowl along with super seeds, avocado, roasted sweet potatoes, and greens with harissa dressing. The bowl was delicious, filling, and good portion. The butternut squash soup was pretty good 👍 😋 Highly recommend if you're looking for a healthy lunch/dinner.

I ordered for pick up on their site that was supposed to be ready by 12:35pm. When I walked in, there were no orders placed on the ‘pick up’ shelf and barely any customers in line to order. I went up to the staff and told him my name, but it was obvious that the order wasn’t ready. Bunch of people started to trickle in, and there were 3 people working and 1 in the kitchen. They forgot about my order and continued to prepare the orders for the customers who were in line. 20 mins later, the staff went up to the register and printed my order and prepared it. The food tastes good, but unfortunately this location is very disorganized. It’s definitely a takeout place given there’s only a limited number of places to sit and eat as pictured. I probably won’t go back to this location.

First time coming and got the make your own bowl filled with so much deliciousness! Friendly helpful staff and tasty, reasonably priced eats!

When I eat out, I always look for relatively healthy options, and what The Little Beet offers fits the bill. They have a good variety of grains, veggies, and proteins, plus some interesting sauce options to choose from. Overall, I was happy with the portion size and flavor of my order. The turkey breast was surprisingly tender, and the other foods were tasty without being too salty. The staff also seemed genuinely happy to be there—warm and welcoming, which is an added bonus.

Google
Give stars just for the service alone! Workers were so helpful and beyond friendly. Plus, their bowls are great for vegans and non vegans! Loved their tofu and their add ons

Google
Awesome 🤩 great food awesome staff! Shea was especially helpful and nice. Vegetarian options. The avacado with sesame is my favorite.

Google
Little Beet is entirely gluten free! I’m also dairy, egg and nut free but their menu is so clean and ingredients listed in their menu made it an easy dining experience for two people with lots of food allergies. I had the roasted chicken with chimichurri sauce (yum!), broccoli and sweet potatoes. Everything was delicious and so flavorful. LOVED their chimichurri sauce! Tamara took super good care of us, and was patient with accommodating our dietary needs, even after having to restart my friend’s order due to an ingredient in the sesame seed avocado she couldn’t tolerate. Our portion sizes were perfect and the blood orange-ginger-turmeric juice Tamara recommended was delicious. Wish there was a Little Beet near me, so glad to find a healthy, gluten free establishment so close to Times Square. Small dining area, but take to go and eat at the beautiful little park across the Street or Bryant Park a shirt walk away.

$10-20 /pp To say this place is one of the best health focused restaurants is an understatement. Not only were the ingredients all natural and delicious but they were consistent. I also had the best gluten free chocolate cookie from there! Would recommend!

Yelp
Total failure. This place is comparable to Dig only by its setup (base, 2 veggies, one protein). They told me I would have to wait for some hot broccoli to come out. I am more than happy to wait. So I get my food (which looks great), but it was all downhill from there. Cold chicken and cold broccoli. I decided to toss it rather than get food poisoning. First and last time I am trying this chain.

Yelp
Loved this place! Super flavorful and tasty! Staff was the friendliest, however the prices are insane! Literally the only downside to this place. Other than that, my experience was awesome!

Yelp
Sadly was so hungry I forgot pictures! I tried the paleo bowl with a coconut macaroon. Definitely will stop by again 100%! It was fast, easy, plus basically empty so I could eat there. Seems to be mainly a take out health food restaurant. I was very happy with all you get for $20 in NYC. The coconut macaroon was the best part

Yelp
I just can't with the Brussel Hustle. It's so flavorful, each mouthful is a herbaceous party. Got the butternut squash soup today bc cold and it was the perfect slightly sweet and creamy balance. Little Beet is the only midtown lunch counter for me. Also the staff were happy and having fun.

Yelp
Got there just before midday and got seats with 2 other people. Nice little fast casual place with amazing, clean and delicious food. Service was great, professional and efficient. Place was clean. Would definitely eat in or order to go again!

Yelp
Amazing customer service by the employees who work there. Melanie, Shay, Cody and Debra are the ones I have interacted with. They provide the best service!!!

Yelp
Little Beet on 40th street is one of my go-to places for an affordable lunch in his insane NYC economy. Today, however, was extraordinary. I'm having "one of those days"; just feeling really down about a lot of things. Anyway, I went in and was helped by a server who asked "Welcome To Little Beet, how are you?" to which I replied, "Good, you?" His response: "I'm great! Another day in paradise, I feel blessed". I gave him my order, and for some of the of the ingredients, he told me to hold on, that "We have some fresh coming right up". He gave me such a great portion and was positive the entire time. I don't know what it was, but he really, really brightened my otherwise dreary day. He was just so positive and personable. I even got a "God Bless You" on thw way out. And of course, the food was amazing and really hit the spot. His name is Steve, and he's doing a great job!

Yelp
Very tasty, quick, and healthy! Can accommodate lots of different diets. It's near my gym so I'll definitely be back

Yelp
I am a huge fan of Little Beet, and make an effort to pick up a wonderful dinner each time I visit New York. The food is high quality with many vegetarian and vegan options, and the staff is super-helpful and friendly. Wish a Little Beet would open by me on the west coast.

Yelp
This is a great spot for a quick and affordable lunch or dinner! I went with one of their signature bowls, but you can also make your own. I love falafel, so I went with the Beet Falafel Bowl. I loved how colorful all the different veggies were! It really made for an appealing looking meal! The beet falafel was flavorful and unique! I appreciated that the falafel was baked, offering a healthier alternative to most falafel. The tumeric tahini was the perfect sauce and I loved the beet hummus as well. I would definitely recommend this bowl for falafel lovers looking for a different take on it! I ordered delivery from here and it was quick and efficient. I would definitely come here again, especially in the summer months and bring a bowl to eat in Bryant Park!

Kristen C.

Yelp
Consistently the most fun place to grab lunch around Bryant Park. The team here = best vibes. Thank you, Cody, Steven, Joelyn, Maddy, Sheon, and Arlene!

Elen C.

Yelp
Outstanding service, amazing food with fabulous vegan and gluten free options. Only a few seats so plan to take it to go, but right next to Bryant park so great opportunity to enjoy. So delicious, highly recommend.

Yelp
Live this place. All ingredients are gluten free. You can make your own salad or have one if their suggestions. Average price is like $13 You select veggies, lettuce, protein and then dressing. It's high quality ingredients, everything is seasoned to perfection. The only problem is that they don't take Apple Pay. I know they take CC. I dont know if they take cash. Sometimes I just go pick up lunch w my phone so it's a bummer they don't take Apple Pay.

Yelp
The Little Beet, located on 6th Ave and 40th Street, is a hidden gem for those seeking a glutenfree dining experience. Ordered the Keto Bowl custom plate, with ingredients sourced from local farmers. The Keto Bowl, priced at $18, offered a delectable assortment of flavors and textures. It featured seared salmon, braised pork, roasted chicken, and a bed of fragrant basmati rice. This combination of proteins was thoughtfully prepared and impeccably seasoned. Each bite offered a burst of savory goodness, creating a harmonious medley of tastes. Sauce of chipotle elevated the bowl even more. One aspect that truly stood out during my visit to The Little Beet was the exceptional customer service provided by Brittany. Her attentiveness, great personality, and swift service were remarkable. Her friendly demeanor and knowledge of the menu elevated the overall experience. Knowing that the ingredients were carefully selected and sustainably produced added an extra layer of appreciation for the meal. The Little Beet remains a noteworthy establishment that caters to gluten free diners with a flair for exceptional taste.

Yelp
I ordered a salad with baked beet falafel and sesame avocado, and it was the perfect portion and great for a quick work dinner. First, it looked wonderful with all the colors and fresh ingredient. Also, I loved the roasted beet falafel which was quite unique and great to be not fried.

Alejandro S.

Yelp
Excellent food & service I was greeted by all of the crew members and the manger Brittney was extremely helpful

Yelp
Amazing experience with the little beet as someone experiencing homelessness to this day. I had the Indian rice tofu, corn and beans and the Brussel sprout sheds which would not have been 100% banging without the Tofu. Vegan places are always there for you.

Luna G.

Yelp
I got food poisoning from here, do not order the salmon. Not worth how good it initially tasted.

Yelp
This is easily the best place on MealPal and one of NYC's most nutritious places. Brittany and Jules here are great and very helpful. Come to this place!!!

Yelp
Quick, casual, grab-and-go eatery with healthy meals and super clean ingredients, Chipotle ordering style. My friend insisted we go, raving about how good it is, and I agree. The ingredients are so fresh, you can almost taste the dirt from the soil! We went on a weekday at 1, when lines are longest, but it goes by quickly. FYI, you can order ahead and stop by to just pick it up. I got the Brussel Hussle salad for lunch, which is a huge portion and about $12. It lasted me two meals. I got a side of beans, which was $2.50 - a bit much for a topping, no?? This ain't guac! There's such few seating. A couple chairs by the window and a few more by the wall. It's a very small space. Be prepared to take out your meal to the park or back to the office! Overall, really enjoyed my salad and would love to return to try the other preset ones! I've also got my eye on their sweet potato sides; if you leave them feedback on their website, you get to have a free side with your next purchase!

Yelp
Not primarily vegetarian nor vegan venue but has options. Pro: lots of high protein options (like quinoa, falafels, lentils), roasted vegetables, avocados, etc. I appreciate that you can order more than just a salad here. Love the variety of dressings Also follows COVID protocol by asking customers to present vaccine IDs if they want to eat in the restaurant. Very adamant and strict about this. Cons: aesthetic and interior design Also, no nutritional facts about whether the dressings were vegan/vegetarian or not. I accidentally ordered the chipotle aioli without realizing it might not be vegan until after the fact. Then I started wondering if any of the other non-obvious dressings I ordered had dairy ingredients or animal by product. Wish there was more info on this

Yelp
Ordered takeout via Seamless from here one evening, about half an hour before they closed. This was a mistake. I went with the 'make your own' and did half basmati rice/half field greens with charred broccoli, roasted rainbow carrots, roasted chicken, and beet falafel. Shortly after I placed my order, they called to say they ran out of the beet falafel. Fine. I ask them to just deduct the extra amount I paid for the beet falafel and they said okay. Two minutes later, they call back and said that they can't offer a refund and I would have to call Seamless to do it. Sounds like a lie but ok, fine. I'm not going to go through all that trouble so I just pick a different protein that they do have, which was sweet and spicy tofu. The order arrives on time but everything is kind of just cold and soggy. The chicken was dry, and all the veggies tasted like they've been under a heat lamp all day. The only thing that was actually good was the basmati rice, since it's flavored with some herbs. They give large portions but it was probably because they were closing and were trying to get rid of things anyway. Plus, it doesn't matter how big the portions are if the food isn't good. My fiance created his own bowl too, but with salmon, which was also dry AF. Some sauce would surely have helped, which we ordered several sides of, but they forgot to throw it in the bag. I'm still interested in trying the beet falafel, but I wouldn't ever order takeout again...it would have to be dine-in, but I would not go out of my way to come here for that. This is what I get for trying to be healthy.

Yelp
My new favorite breakfast bowl place in Midtown Murray Hill on 40th near Bryant Park. Excellent high quality organic and delicious!! They will let you sample everything so you KNOW I love that!! I forgot to use my Yelp 5% deal so I might have to come back and buy more! I tried cooked jackfruit and it was so good!! The cauliflower broccoli soup is super delicious too! I love the sweet potatoes and beet salad! Salmon Yuzu poke is great too!!
google avatar

Yelp
I thought I liked Little Beet but this location ... no. At 5:30 half the restaurant was closed off, the salmon was dried out (having sat since lunch I'm sure). They had no tap water (have to buy bottle) and the bathroom (which I wanted to use to wash my hands after i finished eating) is not open to the public. Should be one star but the rice was decent. Too little for me.
google avatar

Annie Z.

Yelp
The Little Beet is located in a busy part of Times Square and definitely seems like a place where people stop by to pick up a quick bite. Customers are served on both sides of a counter that is located in the middle of the store. There is very limited seating by the front windows as most people take their orders to-go. I ordered my lunch through MealPal and showed up a little before my pickup time. My food was ready even though I had arrived a few minutes early! [ Sesame Avocado Bowl ] The plus side is that this bowl is extremely healthy. The salad leaves, sweet potatoes, and sesame avocado are great sources of nutrients. However the portion size was so small that it felt more like a snack than a meal!
google avatar

Alexandra S.

Yelp
Probably the most indignant and rudest staff I've encountered in a long time. When you step in, there is no greeting, they just stare at you. Then the employees caught an attitude with literally everyone who had a question about the menu. If you don't like people, don't take a job in customer service. It seems like there is little to no oversight or management at this location.

Bryan S.

Yelp
Our company needed a large order completed very quickly. I placed the order online, when able at 11:00am. I called to check to make sure it was received and talked to the manager, Jules Lake. He assured me that they would start to work on it and offered to update me when it was ready. In less than 45 minutes the large order was ready. It was amazing to see such great service and attention to detail. I really appreciate Jules and his team today. They made magic happen for us.

Yelp
When my friend told me to meet them here because they were starving, I was bit surprised she picked this place to eat. But man, oh man was I happy that she did. If you're looking for a really healthy option close to Bryant Park, then it really doesn't get any better than this place. Food I ate- Kaffir Lime Chicken Plate with Kale (roasted kale, chickpeas, cranberries, tahini), Golden Cauliflower (with cilantro, quinoa, curry, and raisins. Gluten-free and vegan) with a quinoa base. My taste buds couldn't have been happier with me with all the different flavors this dish had to offer and ironically not one overpowered the other. I also got a chance to try the Sweet Potatoes (charred with smoked sea salt and olive oil. Gluten-free and vegan) which I highly recommend. Consider taking your food to go as there's such few seating. The staff is friendly, patient and will even share some laughs with you. Whenever I'm in the mood for a healthier and fresh food option, I'll be checking to see if there's a Little Beet in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
I love going here for lunch. The food is always delicious and fresh. Their jack bowl is my favorite. Jack fruit is a fruit that tastes like beef. Their jack bowl comes with quinoa, cabbage, and half of an avocado. I always switch out the picked onions for beet hummus. I love how they have a lot of healthy options. The line is always super long so try to get there early.
google avatar

Dave F.

Yelp
Ate here for lunch the other day. I came around 1130 and there was no line and only one side was set up. It's a lot like two forks that is literally 100ft down the sidewalk. You can make your own bowl or choose one of the preselected bowls. Expect to spend $ 11-14 just for the bowl of food depending on what you get. I made my own bowl and chose: Half quinoa and half rice base Charred broccoli and the large Brussels sprout side And because it's little beer, the beet falafel I topped it with 3 different sauces. The combination of the sauces worth the food was great. The guys behind the counter were extremely friendly, patient, and able to explain everything easily.
google avatar

Celine J.

Yelp
I LOVE this place!! It makes me feel as if I have a personal chef! With their app, every time you spend $50 you get a $5 credit to your account. I am gluten intolerant and everything they serve is gluten free and vegan. The prices are between $12 - $16 including tax depending on what you order.
google avatar

Rob W.

Yelp
Very happy to have a new branch of this excellent mini-chain with a healthy bent open up right near my office. They feature bowl options where you can choose a protein (including a beet falafel for vegetarians) on top of/along with up to four veggie sides. The beet falafel is great, as were the shaved Brussels sprouts with Parmesan. I also had a cauliflower leek soup which was tasty, but overly salty. Servers were uber-enthusiastic, and happily poured on all of the optional free toppings I requested, such as pickled ginger and an excellent turmeric-based dressing. The portion size is impressive--I was pretty much able to make two meals out of it. Don't know if it's the new location or across the board, but the menu seems more streamlined than usual, with fewer options than I had encountered in other Little Beet restaurants. Also, they aren't featuring the four veggie sides only option which was such a great, affordable option that made me fall in love with the little beet in the first place--the sides are so good, you don't really need the protein. Still, I'm happy their fresh, healthy options are nearby. They are even serving breakfast, which looks and sounds potentially promising enough to get my lazy ass up a little early to pick up an actual breakfast before work.
google avatar

Caitlin Z.

Yelp
Excellent!! I ordered here for lunch and the quality and flavors are really great. It's definitely a really great healthy and gluten free option. Can't wait to order again.

Yelp
It was exciting to finally get a healthy place in Bryant Park area near my office. When a coworker who eats super healthy food approved this place, I decided to give it a shot and was not disappointed with their butternut squash soup with coconut milk and sage over rice. It is perfect especially in cold weather. I have also had their Yuzu Poke Bowl which was good and have yet to explore other kind. One day, I will try to make your own bowl! During peak hours for lunch, they have lines on the right and left side and when I once bought lunch around 3pm, it was only on the right side. They also have tables you can sit and eat your food if you are not in the go and wanted to eat there, but it is small counter space. I recommend you to use the Level Up app for discounts on your first purchase and cumulative points give you a discount here too.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about this place (granted I've only eaten here for breakfast twice). I workout at the gym directly next to The Little Beet and was looking for a quick and healthy breakfast. I pass this place every morning, so I figured I'd give it a try. I went with the avocado, egg and cheese sandwich and all I can say is WOW! As soon as I finished it, I was already craving it. They use a 7 grain bread which is really good and the perfect size. The avocado is the perfect ripeness and they use REAL egg - so much better than grabbing a fast food "egg" sandwich. They also put a sauce on it, which I'm not entirely sure what it is, but it 's similar to a sriracha ketchup and it makes the sandwich! The workers there are so polite and happy - even for it being early in the morning. One of the guys behind the counter actually came out, hand delivered my sandwich to me, then opened the door for me since I had a bunch of bags. So appreciated! Moral of the story - if you're looking for a quick, healthy, legit breakfast place then go here! I'm excited to try their lunch menu too.
google avatar

Jung Y.

Yelp
Neat spot for a quick, healthier meal. The menu is pretty limited, but you come here for the healthy bowls as a salad alternative. I created my own bowl, which includes 1 base (field greens), pick 2 sides (sauteed greens & sweet potatoes), and 1 protein (salmon), and sauce (turmeric tahini & avocado bean dip). They have a butternut squash soup that I almost ordered, but the soup was too salty the last time I got it, so I passed on it for today. Overall, I enjoyed my food and would come back next time I need another healthy meal! My meal was even better because I got to use my Time Out card for 50% off my meal with my sister. I'm curious to try The Little Beet Table as well (a little more formal restaurant setting).

Yelp
A cute little restaurant that I wandered into while shopping in the Garment District. The food really is good, and you can tell it's fresh. I got a bowl of quinoa, sweet and spicy tofu, broccoli, and some sweet potatoes (which were some of the best I have had in a long time). They have a ton of different options and I like that you can create your own. Only complaint is how seating is extremely limited. If you're looking to sit down somewhere you can chance it, but it was packed when I went in. I got fortunate enough that someone was leaving when I was looking for somewhere to sit down. Really yummy overall, and a great choice for any vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free friends.

Yelp
They literally have nothing you can order to eat between 10:30-11:00 AM. I stood looking at the menu for a few minutes and then someone came to take my order and informed me they were no longer serving breakfast because it was 10:39. She also said I couldn't order lunch because they don't start serving lunch until 11:00. This used to be my go to place to pick up for my office, but I'm going elsewhere now.

Yelp
Came in today for lunch and was greeted with a "what you want" when I asked for a bowl to go. The gentleman then passed me off to a female employee who came back to her station. Now as I'm eating the food the rice that I ordered is cold and in chunks, since it's cold, the meats did not look appetizing so I opted for the pork, for a healthy place not to have chicken is a bit beyond me. After spending $16 dollars it will be my last time going there. The other place Two For which is next door is so much better, even the Tres Carnes on the block is better.
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Another update: I ordered a la carte and they mixed up the orders and gave me wrong dishes. The associates are not doing their jobs... My experience so far has been really positive until today. It took a while to make the bowl because the main ingredients were not fully prepared (it took about 15 minutes to make a bowl). I ended up asking them to not to put the main ingredient in because I need to catch the train. I would have let it pass but when I tried the food, the kale was extremely salty and not edible at all. It was a bad experience of waiting for an unusual long time, getting half done food only to realize it was not edible. Hopefully it's an isolated event from a new kitchen hire. Make sure you hire qualified candidates...
google avatar

Yelp
The salmon isn't the best but it's also not bad, and beats the versions I've had at other fast casual spots. The chicken was quite good and flavorful, I liked it more than the salmon. Too bad that the brussels come with cheese that cannot be removed because it removes this dish as an option for those more lactose intolerant individuals. Overall, I like it more than the other similar concept healthy fast casual chains in the area.
google avatar

Dominick B.

Yelp
This is a great addition to the Bryant Park area. This place just opened and I've already been here multiple times. For breakfast you can get different healthier food options like the Rise Bowl (what I ordered) or Avocado and Toast. For lunch they have tons of choices of protein including tofu for their bowls/plates. If you are looking for a new place in the area to try I highly recommend this one. The staff is extremely nice as well.
google avatar

Yelp
I almost don't want to review this location because it's still so new and easy to get in and out. When I visited on a Friday for a late lunch it was quiet with only a few customers ahead of me. One of the line cooks helped me pick between two options and my Brussel Hustle was done within minutes. I received a free bowl as a coming soon promotion a few months back, so I was happy to see this had opened as I walked to the office on a day I had no plans for lunch. The food and service were good, the staff had a good vibe and chatted with each other and the customers as we moved through the line. As part of the opening promotion customers can receive a free side of sweet potatoes for giving feedback. It's nice to have a healthy option in the neighborhood that's not overrun -- or maybe it is and I just didn't go during peak lunch. tl;dr - tasty alternative to sweetgreen/minigrow, will return scale: 5 - cosign 4 - yea 3 - meh 2 - bruh 1 - nah

Yelp
I really like their Salads and definitely would like to explorer the menu a bit more. So far so good

Yelp
I stopped by this place really quickly for lunch between a bunch of things and loved it! There are so many options for a variety of individuals :) To be honest, the service wasn't so great. There was only one other customer but I still wasn't served for a good 5-10 minutes. When I was ordering, I asked for tea and they took about another 5 minutes to figure out what tea they had, and then forgot to give it to me until I reminded them about another 5-10 minutes later. Super nice, but not so nice service. Food-wise, I just have to dedicate this entire review to their TOFU!!!!! Holy shit--I eat tofu all the time even though I'm not vegetarian, just because I love it. And this was by far the best tofu I have ever had in my life. I don't know what they do to it, but it is inSANE. Coincidentally, the one other customer in the room just randomly made conversation with me about the tofu, saying that she comes here simply just to get it. I would too if I lived closer!

Yelp
So healthy and so delicious!!! I loved this place !! I was super hungry and close to this area but wanted nourishing food versus anything else. I looked up healthy foods and this came up! The options are healthy, they have very unique choices (beet falafel / avalado bean dressing) and appropriately priced. If ever in NYC again I will revisit for sure! The beet falafel is a must try!!

Yelp
Great team of people serving up healthy, gluten free breakfast lunch and dinner at a fair price. Good energy at this place. Rich, Jimmy and Dee are standouts. I am Celiac gluten free and eat here weekly.

Yelp
Great options, clean food, good cooking oils. Very hospitable staff with a great sense of customer service. A bit below average prices for the city. Great spot to grab breakfast or lunch!
