Yelp
It's a typical diner, cute decor, nothing special food wise. Table of 5, one of our group members was served the wrong meal and it took so long to get it corrected the other 4 ate and then we all waited while he ate alone. Instead of fixing it immediately, we had our time wasted having to listen to the waitress, cook and manager all blame each other (very cringe, you messed up, recook the meal and stop airing your restaurant drama publicly)...wouldn't return.
12/24/2024: To be clear (since the owner replied) this was this diner in NJ not Chicago in October of 2024. I'm behind on reviewing places due to traveling.
UPDATE 12/26/2024: I didn't want to return or speak with a manager because in my opinion this place didn't deserve my business again. As stated above in the original review, "wouldn't return" so contacting a manager would have been pointless. I was not interested in returning there.
2 days or 2 months later doesn't change a bad experience, I wanted to make sure my experience was shared for others to help in making their decisions. I travel a lot and usually sit and review in each state/area I have visited as I have time.
I also understand mistakes happen, it wasn't the mistake we were upset about, it was the handling of the mistake. The food was wrong, the staff literally stood at the register after the blame game was done by 3 people at our table and then argued amongst themselves at the register. We were at the table right inside the door to the left directly across from the checkout counter, we could hear all 3 of you, just go remake his food and argue later so we can get to the things we needed to do that day!!!
Stop making me defend my review, it's not changing. YELP is built to share a diner's personal experience at a restaurant, that's what I did, fairly and accurately.
Update 12:26/204: They do AND now everyone who reads this knows that they will have to spend 3 days defending their review because you can't take criticism. Move on.
