This is a small little state park that isn't well known, which means it isn't usually packed with people. Making it a great place to visit especially on a hot summer day. There are lots of large trees that provide shade over various picnic tables, and grassy, open areas if you prefer to eat out on a blanket in the sun.
There are restrooms available and the Luckiamute River runs along the North and Northwest boundary of the park. There are a couple of paths down to the river. It's been a few years since I've been there, but one of them did lead to a sandy type area that is fairly shallow and nice for younger kids
