Little Man Ice Cream Is Now Serving Creamy Boozy Shakes at the Airport | Eater Denver

"A new kiosk inside Denver International Airport's Concourse C near gate C27 (attached to the Tapas Sky Bar) serves eight ice cream flavors and ice cream sandwiches made with a choice of four cookies. The biggest draw is a lineup of boozy milkshakes — a first for the company — available in seven varieties including Whiskey Apple Pie and Strawberry Margarita. Notable concoctions include an Oreo Java shake made with cookies-and-cream ice cream, Leopold Bros Frenchpress coffee liqueur, and spiced rum, and the Illuminati, named as a nod to DIA conspiracies, made with vanilla ice cream, absinthe, and Maraschino. Sandwiches and coffee are offered via the airport concessionaire partner, and the founder has said the menu will be adjusted over time based on traveler feedback (he also questioned whether people will buy waffle cones right before flights)." - Paul Albani-Burgio

Google
I got myself affogato from this place when I was traveling through Denver airport. The portion was huge for me- the espresso was good and I got this with a darker echolocate flavor ( which had some sea salt in it too). Overall it was pretty good and huge in size.

Google
A little slow but the milkshake was great. I would like some more ice cream flavors though

Google
Salted Oreo was really good. Very smooth, creamy, and flavorful. The little Oreo chunks were sweeter than the ones you find in a package but in a good way. I took off one star because the guy kind of had a stinkeye like he didn’t want to be there and was annoyed when customers walked up. Bro, you work at an airport, you’re going to get a lot of customers especially for a popular ice cream place.

Andrew R.

Google
Little Man is a Denver treasure, so I was thrilled to find it at the airport in all its glory. This is creamy, thick, smooth ice cream. Ice cream to be treasured. I went with the salted Oreo and the cookies and cream. I was not disappointed.

Google
I was in C concourse and in the mood for ice cream. So I was really excited to find Little Man. I briskly walked 12 mins from C55 to C27, only to find it closed (Monday Nov 10 at approx 1:20p), with a sign saying it was closed for the night. Super disappointing.

Google
The person serving us (very quiet tall person with wavy long light red hair) told me the cost, asked if I wanted a receipt, I said no I was good! And then when I paid with Apple Pay and walked away it was 3 dollars more than she/they told me. And then I told my friend, turns out it was the same thing, told my friend it was 8 dollars and she was charged 10 dollars. So essentially, the cashier charged us a tip to get extra money. If I wasn’t trying to make a flight I would have went back but this is illegal and this should be addressed

Google
Thick, creamy, unique flavors. Salty O(reo) and Mexican Chocolate were both great. Quick, friendly service.

Google
I'm glad that I was able to get the most popular ice cream at Denver Airport. The flavors are great, I loved the 16th street chocolate, and Salted Caramel with Peanut Butter. They're so creamy, smooth, and flavorful. I also got the Espresso chips but it is too sweet for me. The service is horrible. The lady was chatting with other airport staff, leaving her customers waiting in line. She doesn't love her job either - Stony faced and not enthusiastic about introducing flavors to customers. I can't help but think of who doesn't like serving ice cream to people! It's supposed to be the happiest job on earth, let alone it's the BEST ice cream in Denver. I want to try Little Man's ice cream again but will go to their local stores. Even the best ice cream would taste flavorless when paired with the worst service.

Yelp
I feel like airport ice cream is a rarity. I can't think of a time when I've been able to get a scoop while waiting for a flight. I walked across Terminal C to find this little kiosk. They had one person scooping and managing everything and she did a great job, especially with more complicated orders like milkshakes! They carry the majority of the flavors you'd expect to see at Little Man. Considering I'd just gone to one the day before in Cherry Creek, I'd know! Glad to get to try a flavor I didn't get to try the night before. I got a nice hefty scoop at a premium. The price was slightly more than you'd expect to find at the ice cream shop but that's to be expected in an airport!

Yelp
Silent Cream DIA location of a local Denver operation that has ten locations, as well a wholesale and catering operations. The Good: *Service was friendly *Ice cream was good but nothing mind blowingly good. The Meh: *Pricing was typical (i.e., rip-off) airport pricing *They're known for their ice cream cookie sandwiches, so I went to try and order one but they were out of cookies?! Tbf, the young lady did offer to go get some but she said it'll take at least twenty minutes and I didn't feel like waiting or to be a bother. The Ugly: *I opted for the waffle cone bowl and hold-fucking-shit was it bad. Like it was made six months ago bad. Hard as a rock and almost no flavor. I took a few nibbles and just let it be. Conclusion: Decent ice cream but avoid the waffle cones

Yelp
Delicious!! The woman working was so nice and let us try a few flavors. The three we tried are the 3 we got. The salty O is interesting, I think it was literally salty Oreo flavored. It was different but still so yummy. We also had the espresso fudge and strawberry. Strawberry is not one I typically pick but I think it was the best! Would 1000% come back next time I'm at the Denver airport.

Yelp
Airport location located in Gate C for Southwest Airlines. Small little kiosk that offers various flavors toppings, bake goods, and sundaes. It's a beautiful Ethiopian woman who served me today was so sweet and her red dress and black apron. Very personable to everybody that came through. Allowed me to sample before I bought and I'm 100% happy with my purchase. Everything was fresh and very tasty.

Yelp
FYI, they don't have the "Twilight Zone" shake anymore despite what the official Denver Airport description says and what other news outlets say too. Sucks cuz I would have loved a conspiracy theory themed dessert. Seems like they haven't served alcohol here as they used to in the past either, so it's a completely sober ice cream place! Also it does close at 8 PM, so if you're here on a late flight, that is unfortunate. They do have seasonal flavors, you can make a sundae, or a mixed shake. there are cups, different cones, and also some grab and go snacks, and they can make small wraps and sandwiches here too I believe. I got their seasonal pumpkin chocolate small cup (which was actually quite a hefty scoop). The chocolate was a bit darker so it added a slight sweet bitterness to the pumpkin spice. Very creamy and didn't melt super fast. Good stuff all around.

Yelp
Service was absolutely horrible. There was no one at the counter for almost 30min. Several customers left after waiting a while - we all have flights to catch!! Everyone agreed the ice cream was great, but service at this location was hit or miss. My gate was boarding by the time the server came back and I quickly got my scope, tapped my card, and ran to my gate. I was charged over 20% tip without my consent! I was definitely not planning to leave a tip for the horrible service. Please replace the service because the ice cream was actually pretty good.
google avatar

Yelp
Such unique and inspired flavors! I got a root beer float with a scoop of chai flavored ice cream - great combo, added a deeper spice to the root beer. Fast and friendly staff. We rolled through with a group of maybe 12 people and we all had our snacks within a couple mins. It's right next to the river park too, great location. I'm glad we stopped.
google avatar

Lori D.

Yelp
I would love to tell you about how it taste - never saw an employee! Waited thirty minutes. There's little to nothing in cases and tubs on counter. Do better.

Yelp
What a serendipitous moment it was when I saw this kiosk! While I was in Denver for just over two weeks, I hadn't made it to a Little Man Ice Cream shop on this trip. I was quite happy to see this setup and knew I had to get a scoop! It's located right by Gate C27, which was super handy since that was my scheduled gate to depart from Denver! I was flying out on Southwest Airlines. Since this is a little shop in the middle of the corridor and sandwiched between other businesses. Since the footprint is small, you mainly just get your goodies and eat them elsewhere. There are a few photos that are posted here incorrectly. There is no patio in the concourse, so unless you are walking out to the hotel/train station area, you will be inside the terminal. The other picture with the huge Little Man Milk Can was taken at the original Lower Highland location. There are 16 flavors to choose from. I got the Raspberry Love which is raspberry ice cream with White & reg. Chocolate Chips. The small size of one scoop was $5.69. The ice cream was enjoyed while waiting for my flight. It was alright, I probably should have gotten a different flavor. I preferred the ice cream I had at their original location during a previous visit. Besides ice cream, you can get coffee & tea, affogato, milkshake, soda, & baked goods. Or, you may want savory offerings like an Italian Chopped Salad, Italian Sandwich or Turkey Wrap. Next time I fly out I will stop by and have another scoop! It's a good, inexpensive sweet treat!

Yelp
When your flight is delayed but it's next to the Little Man stand, it's a nice little treat to have after receiving news about your delayed flight. My go to from little man has always been the salted Oreo and every time I've made a stop, they've had it as an option. It's truly just a nice creamy ice cream with a good balance between salt and sweet. If you like Oreos or cookies and cream ice cream, try the salted Oreo. It's very subtle saltiness. It's located in gate c with the southwest flights next to the food court but not at the newly remodeled section of the airport with the fancy bathrooms.

Yelp
I was bummed last night that I wasn't able to get ice cream due to the long line at the Downtown location. So while killing time before our flight we walked the terminal and come to find a Little Man Ice Cream kiosk at the airport! There are not many areas to sit and enjoy your ice cream, so the concept is more grab and go. The gal working the counter was super friendly. She provided samples for all of my requests. After a few options I settled for Buttermilk Cupcake. This was so yummy. Inside you find chunks of vanilla and chocolate cupcake and then the sweet cream ice cream base pairs perfectly. The ice cream served at Little Man is creamy, rich with flavor and has a decent amount of mixtures with in. I would highly recommend Little Man Ice Cream.

Yelp
Was excited this place was right by our gate, and that it stayed open later than other merchants (bonus b/c our flight was delayed almost 2 hours). Service was friendly, and the ice cream delicious. Got the milkshake -- 3 scoops of whatever you want -- which was perfect! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Great little ice cream stand in the airport. My wife got a cookie dough ice cream and I got the espresso fudge. Both were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. Lots of seating near by.

Yelp
I stopped by the new ice cream stand in the Denver airport and I forgot how delicious the Salted Oreo flavor is! One of my absolute favorites.

Yelp
This review is for the Little Man Ice Cream stand at the Denver airport. The ice cream is delicious! But the service is extremely not good. The young man who was working during the time when my party came by was extremely cold and unfriendly. He had no patience for any of the customers! The young man did not want to answer any questions or talk to customers. He seemed annoyed when customers asked about the different flavors or ask for a taste. He was slamming the ice cream counter doors. There were a few people waiting to order their ice cream when he slammed the counter doors shut. Took off his apron, did not say a word & just left the ice cream stand. Very unpleasant experience at the Little Man Ice Cream counter at the Denver airport.

Yelp
this ice cream is worth stopping in DEN for. creative flavors. terrific taste for all. the young lady serving has the most beautiful smile to accompany her efficient service

Yelp
Super good Ice cream, great little sitting area and the service was fast! Recommend this to tourists and Denver natives alike, a great place to enjoy.

Yelp
When I tried the original location of Little Man, the line was quite prohibitive and I had a flight to make. It is fortuitous, then, that unlike the overpriced mass-market junk that permeates most airports, there was a bit of local flavor here in C terminal. Don't get me wrong, it still had that airport premium, the selection was limited, and the experience likely not as good as the original, but I was satisfied with being able to sample this place as it was. The cookie dough and cupcake infused flavors I got were delivered in a rich, fresh-tasting cream. They say they donate a meal of rice and beans to someone in need for each ice cream you buy, which is hopefully still true of the airport location.
google avatar

Eunice T.

Yelp
They got some unique flavors! I was here for a layover and an ice cream was definitely comforting after long flight delays. My bf and I shared a medium so we got to choose 2 scoops - Space Junkie & one of the seasonal surprise. I really loved the creaminess of both flavors. It was pricey for the portion size, but I guess it's the airport tax for ya. I'd want to visit the actual store next time when I'm actually in the city (as opposed to just the airport).
google avatar

Annie H.

Yelp
We were traveling and had two layovers at the Denver International Airport. Ice cream was on my agenda both times! We tried the chocolate and blackberry honey goat cheese flavors. The ice cream was smooth, creamy, and rich. If you like a mix of fruity and dairy flavors, try the blackberry honey goat cheese. The employees also let us sample some flavors. We were informed the salted oreo is one of their more popular flavors, but it wasn't to our liking. I found the salted oreo to be too salty.
google avatar

Lily L.

Yelp
Okay ice cream but very lovely shop & outdoor seating! Interesting building architecture as well

Yelp
I had the Afogato it was delicious. The staff were nice and the place looked clean. The service was outstanding.

Yelp
Famous Denver ice cream available in terminal C. They had about 10 flavors available and prices were reasonable for an airport ($7.99 for a large 3 scoop). The best part was, no line! Creamy ice cream with fun and standard flavors.
google avatar

Nanci-Nanciele M.

Yelp
I had wanted to go here during my visit and missed it. I was so happy to see this miniature store in the airport. It was very limited in flavors but man are they good! The ice cream I got was a chocolate ice cream and I got the waffle cone dipped in chocolate with nuts! It was beyond delicious! You must get one if you ever get the chance. The ice cream is fresh and so are the cones!
google avatar

Yelp
Best ice cream ever! Never tried the airport location but it was a great pick me up for a long wait.

Brandon E.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream! I can't wait to come back here again next time I visit Denver airport! Selam was so welcoming and gave the beat customer service!

Yelp
So yummy! Highly recommend while passing through the Denver Airport! The milkshake is amazing!!

Yelp
Little Man ice cream is pretty good! Albeit maybe not as hyped up as people make it out to be. I LOVE ice cream and always go out of my way to go to each city's best ice cream joints whenever I'm traveling. I made my sister go to the actual Little Man with me (separate review on their main page). I was glad to see they had a location in our terminal at Denver's airport as well. I actually didn't plan to get ice cream but after our flight kept getting delayed and delayed, I just went for it. I ended up getting the chocolate with salted Oreo. It was really good and hit the spot for a weary airport traveler. Honestly I'm grateful to have any type of premium ice cream offering in the airport to help during stressful times! Although it was good, Little Man isn't the best ice cream I've ever had. I don't know if I'd go out of my way to get this ice cream again and for that, they just can't stack up to some of the places I've rated as 5 stars. Also, the salted Oreo at the airport was good, but it seems the "saltiness" is inconsistent and some batches are saltier than others. Given it's their main flavor, they need to get that under control!
google avatar

Matt R.

Yelp
One of Denver's most highly rated ice cream spots! Go try them to see why! Little Man is a Denver staple. If you're looking for a must try in the area then this is the spot. They are constantly rotating new flavors, making fresh waffle cones, and if it's summer, have a line stretching around the block. I keep going back to Little Man for their Salted Oreo, it's a cookie and cream with just the right pinch of salt to make it salty and savory. They also offer Milkshakes and Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches which are both equally fantastic. Wait at your own risk if there's a long line, it can take awhile but it's worth it if you've never been! If there's no line then don't pass them up!
google avatar

Rick T.

Yelp
I first tried Little Man while attending a conference and they offered attendees a couple flavor choices. I had the Salted OREO and it was love at first lick! The server told me that was what they were known for and I can see why. The ice cream was loaded with OREO chunks, but the saltiness was what brought it over-the-top! Wow! Then I realized that they had a stand at the airport so I needed to get one last scoop before I left. Wow! I'm still screaming for this ice cream! SALTED OREO!
google avatar

Bee W.

Yelp
Always wanted to try Little Man ice cream and when I saw the kiosk by our gate I wanted some but I didn't want to pay airport prices. He insisted on getting me some so I got a small cup and the server mixed up regular chocolate with the rocky road chocolate flavor. Smooth and delicious. I really liked the texture and the rich flavor of the ice cream. It was a nice sweet treat before the flight. The servers were friendly too.

Jenny G.

Yelp
Fun place. Didn't live up to excellent memories of original location years ago. Too sugary for me, but kiddo who was in the group loved it. Glad to see yummy vegan and gluten-free options. Pricey, so definitely a splurge treat.
google avatar

Sheila T.

Yelp
The vanilla milkshake was terrific and the banana pudding ice cream superb. Excellent service by Meserete. Will definitely come back every time I fly through this terminal.
google avatar

Yelp
I visited the location tonight, 8:45pm 8/26/23 - I was considering having Little Man cater dessert for my destination wedding in Denver. After having being met by not the nicest of employees (I asked for a sample and was told with an eye roll "not at this time") and not given a chance to try anything, thanks for solidifying not using your services. I visited the Central Park location on Monday, 8/21/23, and while those employees there were nice, I still was not impressed overall with the ice cream.

Ariana W.

Yelp
Yummy coffee. Good service, always friendly. Try the affogato. It's a delicious treat.
google avatar

Dan K.

Yelp
Little Man Ice Cream is the best in Denver. Period. Prove me wrong. The airport location doesn't disappoint. It's the same super premium ice cream that you'd expect but just by gate C27 in terminal C (duh). I mean there's no ambiance or atmosphere other than "Denver Airport Chic" but if you're at the airport, you're not going to hang out. We ended up going after a meal at Timberline Steakhouse and even though we didn't save room for dessert, somehow there's always room for ice cream. The staff were happy and helpful. I got to sample two flavors and then picked two others. The cappuccino had a rich roasty coffee flavor and the chocolate was chewy and delicious. Reminiscent of New England ice cream. A double set me back $6. WORTH IT. If you're at Little Man, do yourself a favor (flavor?) and try something you'd never consider. Like we tried the cosmic something or another and it was so good.
google avatar

Vicki L.

Yelp
I had put off going to Little Man Ice Cream due to reviews I read on the original location's Yelp page being extremely mixed and many claiming the ice cream to be overrated. But since I had extra time at the airport, I decided to give Little Man Ice Cream a try. I'm really glad I did because I actually really enjoyed the ice cream. I got the Salted Caramel Peanut Butter and it was incredibly smooth and creamy with great flavor. It was like eating my two favorite ice cream flavors at once. Would highly recommend Little Man Ice Cream to others!
google avatar

L D.

Yelp
Little Man Ice cream was totally worth the wait, which, there is always a wait. Fabulous ice cream to include my Vegan family and friends. Great energetic staff. I will be back!
google avatar

Daren D.

Yelp
Ice cream was exceptional for an airport but the service was as cold as the ice cream. It's like the employees were what kept that ice cream cold! My kid dropped his single scoop cones out 30 seconds after we sat down. They charged another almost $6 for a new one. Was it our fault? Sure it was. Would most establishments charge full price? Meh, I think not.
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
Overall impressed. Lovely, nice welcoming design and great looking sandwich case and baked goods. Had the Turkey Club to take on a flight. Good price for airport food...and plentiful...but not well constructed...make it even all around, not all piled up in the middle. Big plus - they have Goulden's Mustard...not crappy no name yellow stuff. The staff were nice, but seemed confused...and didn't keep an eye on the line. Actaully there was no line - just people taking up line space and slowing the whole process of reaching the cashier who was just standing there waiting for customers. Staff needs to be trained to be aware of line - and to tell people waiting for their order to move aside. The system needs improvement, especially for an airport where lot's of folks are in a hurry.
google avatar

Yelp
They make an awesome malt! Thick and rich. They were a bit too zealous in jamming the paper straw into the lid, which broke off a piece of plastic into the malt. That doesn't taste good.
google avatar

Minaz M.

Yelp
Tried the salted Oreo sooooo yum and the strawberry soooo yum too! Paid little less than $5 for 1 scoop with a waffle cone..

Andrew S.

Yelp
some of best ice cream-- if at Denver airport (southwest) worth stopping by- it was delicious
google avatar

Bill D.

Yelp
Just as quality as the street without the crazy line!!AND the have boozy shakes! Yes please! Was stoked to find this place in concourse C at the airport. Fast friendly service and the high point of my otherwise frustrating travel day.

Joe S.

Yelp
Never open. Waste of space in a busy food court. Airport should get something else in here.

David S.

Yelp
Just stood in front of employees at Little Man here in the airport for 4 minutes without being acknowledged. Lady was more interested in showing a friend her new socks than providing customer service.

Tania M.

Yelp
The customer service woman could not understand English, so she kept getting my order wrong. After the third try, I finally gave up because the line behind me was huge. I didn't get what I wanted but she still charged me for what I actually ordered. Plus she waited on other people first who came after me. Need more qualified help!!

Yoyobee T.

Yelp
The guy w curly hair at 9:00 pm refuse to gimme service saying it was closed when we were making a line waiting to get attended me and some other 3 people . Worst employee ever in the airport. Why would u refuse service and make them make the line ? Very poor hospitality
