Little Mosko’s is a small place off the beaten path in an industrial campus. When we visited there was dynamite going off at the construction site next door which we didn’t love, but that’s hardly the restaurant’s fault and, perhaps, eating in a war zone is your thing!
They definitely pass the strong, super good coffee test…albeit only available in paper cups which is a bummer if you’re dining in.
All of their baked goods are 100% gluten which excited my gluten-free wife. We shared the carrot bread which was super legit, tasty and fluffy, the way a bread should be. (And we got a peanut butter sea salt cookie for later because, honestly, when were we going to be back in Nashville…this could be the only opportunity we ever had to have a second gluten free baked good. It was worth the purchase.
For our breakfast mains, my wife got the Avocado Toast. This was served on gluten free bread, which she thought was thick and delicious, with avocado, a fried egg plus pistachio dust, some greens, and a sweet and spicy sauce which my wife loved. She couldn’t finish it all which, in this case, was a good sign about the dish and it’s filling nature.
I had the breakfast tacos, with avocado. I thought this was a fairly basic dish prepared with, egg, cheese, and avocado on a tortilla. It tasted as you’d expect those ingredients to taste which was fine but it could have used more flavor. The only other additional option was a bacon jam which I’m sure would have upped the ante for this dish, but wasn’t for me as a vegetarian. I would have liked a similar vegetarian addition option.
My wife also mentioned the Almond Milk Latte was not her favorite version of this beverage.
If we lived in Nashville, I’m sure we’d come back to satisfy my wife’s cravings to be at a place exclusively catering to her gluten free diet. The baked goods and coffee are certainly worth the trip on their own.
